I can think of a potential mod that could make this even better: swap the conduit connector for a PVC tee. Drill a hole in the lid of the junction box and sandwich it between the leg of the tee and another PVC fitting so it will allow the tee and poles to rotate to be parallel with the boat for storage and transport. You could potentially also have the same effect just using a threaded pvc flange attached to the boat and a threaded tee.
You can install a threaded rivet in the wire pull fitting lid (Allstar Performance ALL18547 Threaded Nut Insert Steel 2pk) put in the lid makes easier access and replacement if needed. You can also screw a light on top of the square box and hide some wiring that way. If you had a set of pole up front you'd have a great spot for USCG green and red navigation lights
I would think that the zip screws in the thin plastic shell would strip-out after a half a season of using. Seems like a lot of stress put on the 2 zip screws for an anchor pole setup.
Very innovative. Would PVC pipes be an alternative? I know they would have some flex. Also, as the poles act as levers with the fulcrum at their attachment to the hull would that pose a potential problem to the integrity of the boat?

Yeah I’m thinking I’m gonna use a pole clamp to suspend it up when not in use.
Very nice

They do have some thicker PVC that may work! And I do notice some flex on the hull at times but so far nothing concerning! Thanks for the comment!
Nifty!
Thank you!!
Nice mod!
Might have to do the same to mine!
I love these things!!!
I love my SixGill.
Same!! Can’t wait to get my Hammar!!
What sunglasses are you using
RedFins
Make a T handle for the top. It works much better.
That’s a good idea thanks!! Be sure to Subscribe
Great Mod! maybe you should check out a yak attack stakeout pole. It has a handle and it will not let it go thru the hole as well.
That’s a great idea!! I’ll check it out!
