never understood the whole hide your boat numbers thing. I took that same advise from others. When I took my boat out with my friend I carried a little note pad and made notes of what would make things easier and where to put them.
Great video Sir. I have done several modifications that just didn't work out also. I completely agree to use the boat before starting any mods. I STILL can't find the perfect spot for my net or paddle. Thanks for sharing from the great state of TX. Fish on!
i agree i had my boat a week on two before i started adding anything same with any boat i've had because they all have a different character. i have four boats including my pond boat and what works on my canoe or kayak doesn't work on my pond boat. and just my opinion if like me you haul your pond boat in the bed of a truck keep it as simple as possible because as you get older - i'm 67 this boat gets heavy loading and even unloading.. i do have a winch in the bed and i do have two 2x4 's for ramps.
One question John, do you tarp your boat on the trailer, meaning the boat itself, or do you tarp over the top of the trailer and all? Seems to me like it would be easy to just tarp the boat itself and tuck each end under the boat and then secure around the bottom with a strap.
Thanks for watching and for your question. I use a 9x12 heavy duty tarp and tie straps over boat and trailer. Here is link to the tarp I use: amzn.to/3w7CQQW Hope this helps, I could do a video if you want to know more. ~John
Thanks brother, that would be awesome! I don`t have a garage and I`m still considering this boat. Just trying to consider everything involved before hand. Thanks for the link.@@omoutdoors
@@gabluesdude Thanks for the follow up. I've got 4 or 5 videos in the queue right now, including one about the trailer conversion. I'll get the "tarp" video out next month after the weather gets a little warmer. All the best ~John
My best modification was getting a used jet ski trailer for it. My truck is always loaded with work materials and boat wouldn’t fit without having to remove them each fishing trip. The trailer makes loading/ unloading boat way more manageable and I can park the whole rig in my one car garage and keep it completely ready to go. Without it, I would fish way less.
Why doesn't the bass raider/pond prowler communities use kayak accessories? Gear track, paddle holders, and anchor trollies/wizards, etc are well established in the kayak world.
Thank you, John! I'm building out a used Bantam 2x, looking forward to seeing more of your mini build videos! Subscribed.😁🤝

That's a good idea about making notes! ~John

I agree, it's tough to fit the net and not either get hung up when casting or be difficult to get quickly. ~John

Bob, thanks for stopping by. I'm 73 and for some reason my boat seems to get heavier each year also! ~John
Good advice John, common sense idea’s! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching. ~John
