  • YOU CAN WATCH THE FULL MOVIE HERE: • RHYTHMS OF NATURE - Fr...
    This film tells the story about nature in the Barycz River valley and enormous Milicz ponds. This area is located in the south-western part of Poland (in the middle of Europe). I and my wife made it for 2 years.
    Sir David Attenborough, a world-famous BBC nature documentary film maker, after watching the film "Rhythms of Nature in the Barycz Valley" wrote:
    "I have viewed Rhythms of Nature with great pleasure.
    A lovely place, beautifully filmed"

    Kinda amazing how they have evolved to become the ultimate parasite. Like, how the newborn chick knows instinctively that it has to remove its competition (by either pushing the eggs, or by pushing out the newly hatched chicks), and where it has evolved to know how to entice the parental birds to feed it in a much quicker frenzy than what they would naturally do with their own young

    • @bradleyvrooman1801

    One of the craziest things is that it's only the common cuckoo that never builds a nest. Other cuckoo species actually rear and care for their own offspring.

      Actually, many other cuckoo species have brood parasitism. The Shining Bronze-Cuckoo (chrysococcyx lucidus) for example lays its eggs in the nests of Grey Warbler (gerygone igata).

    • @camo2156
      @camo2156 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Not true. There are at least 150 cuckoo species, 56 of which are known brood parasites. So, while the majority of cuckoo species do rear their own young, at least a third do not. Many more than just the common cuckoo.

      I wish a cuckoo would lay an egg near me. I would let it hatch and then toss it on the ground to starve alone while its mother watches.
      Apparently the mother cuckoo sticks around to make sure the host doesn't reject the egg. It will destroy the entire nest if it comes back and it's egg is gone. The host bird might also abandon the nest if it comes back to fewer eggs so maybe letting it hatch and pretending it fell might save the host bird some trouble.
