I wonder what happened to the cuckoo's DNA that made it start hijacking other bird's nests. When did it decide that it was too lazy to build its own nests, sit on its own eggs, feed its own chicks? On top of that, it becomes a murderer right after its born! I would like to see a bunch of cukoos locked up in the same cage to see if any of them can become parents.

They actually bully the parents into feeding them until the parents are so exhausted they die. For what reason does the baby cuckoo do that? Their behavior resembles human behavior, which always seek to displace others. How tremendous it is that this animal does such a skill of intelligence, even when it is blind and weak. Perhaps this is how intelligence should work, nullify the weak, help them to clear space, free themselves from the obstacle, from the garbage. There is no way that science explains how it is that a living being, so small, applies the law of advantage, and that whoever can, annihilate the competition. The Cuco bird is a magnificent living being that, without having a conscience, by genetics, discriminates and annihilates those who hinder it.

There are times when cuckoo eggs hatch at the same time or later, this time both the host chicks and cuckoo will be provided with food by parents. If the cuckoo eggs would always win, the host parent species would have become extinct. But that doesn’t happen. Nature balances it out by itself. Some host parent chicks must survive sometimes, or the number of host chicks populations must exceed the populations of cuckoos in the area for the host populations not to become extinct.

They kill them beacuse the cuckoo chick is so big that it needs the amount of food of 3 or 4 chicks of the mothers species to survive. The mother bird would not be able to provide enough food for all of them. And no, they won't wipe out other bird species. Only 1-2% of the nests of the targeted bird species contain a cuckoos egg.

You ever get the sudden urge to whip out a nail gun? How does a bird come out realizing they need to be the only one to truly survive. Does it think it’s just stretching out and the goal is to have the whole nest? What happens to a nest full of Cuckoos
the weird thing is once they grow into adulthood there's no way they could possibly remember being a few hours old and removing everyone else from the nest. not saying that like birds have the capacity for guilt or anything, but in the cuckoo's eyes it just had a typical childhood with a smaller mom
The baby cuckoo birds who started shoving out the original babies/eggs had a better chance of surviving. Those grew up and bred. Those genes survived and spread. Probably took a million years or more to get that behavior up to this level.

They kill them beacuse the cuckoo chick is so big that it needs the amount of food of 3 or 4 chicks of the mothers species to survive. The mother bird would not be able to provide enough food for all of them. And no, they won't wipe out other bird species. Only 1-2% of the nests of the targeted bird species contain a cuckoos egg.
