I have the B&O upgrade and I really like it. I am not driving around with the top off, so I don’t know how it sounds in that configuration. I never understood the complaints on this sound system.
After spending time researching where to start with upgrading the sound system. It was recommended that if you are doing one step at at time. To start with installing an amp, as that its self would make your factory speaker function better. It definitely did. Huge difference. Then I added 6.5 Midrange speakers on the kick panels for a little more bass. Starting to sound great. Now im in between doing the dash or replacing the rear with 6.5 speakers. I would definitely recommend going with amp first. I installed a Audio control 6 channel 1200w amp. I have not even started with a sub install.
You will not need bass blocked in the front if you get a quality speaker with a built-in crossover. I have yet to do the 4scan and my system sounds 100 time better with my Frankenstein setup. 6 3/4 Kicker DS in the Mabbet pods, 6 1/2 JBL in kick panels and 4 Polk in dash. Zero feedback and crisp, clear sound. Great video.
It's not really the size of the speakers, it's more the quality of the ford speakers and not enough power. I replaced the 4" speakers with Polk Audio DB402 DB+, and the 6.5" kicker panels with Hertz UNO Series X-165 speakers. I went with the Kicker Key 4 channel amp because of the DSP. The only thing I left was the ford subwoofer and amp. The system sounds great and is plenty loud with the roof off. Also, like others mentioned you need to use Forscan to open it all up.
Any chance you've made or are making a detailed step by step on how to make the changes to the rear speakers in Forscan? I'm nervous to mess something up!
I don't mind the B&O sound system in my bronco EXCEPT for the subwoofer. It buzzes when the volume is up around level 15 to 17. I can't listen to it anywhere beyond that without turning the bass down. It's frustrating because on the highway I can't drown out the wind noise with music because of it.
I'm familiar with Forscan. Under the ACM module, do I edit 727-01-01 or 727-01-02? The Forscan Google Doc for the Bronco has 727-01-02, however, other videos have said 727-01-01. Can you please clarify? I will be working on this, this weekend. Thank you again for you video!
Let me be honest, you need to follow up this vid this the forscan tweek . i dont know it worth thr time or expense to swap out with out k owing for sure how its gonna sound i did my dash speakers and it makes a big diff because its close to thr driver, i dont know that the rear, being so far away will matter. u may ave been been better off just putting in a 4" in the rear and adding a subwoofer. Im flip flopping every day in what to do. I wouldnt trust myself with forscan and alot of shops out here wont do it. I bet its the same flash that the dealer does if they install the sound bar. Great vid, please follow up
So I have the Lux package for more reasons than just the B&O sound system. My 2015 JKU stock (non-Alpine) sound was garbage in comparison. Could the B&O be better? Sure, I believe it definitely could be louder, with more bass, etc. For me, it’s good enough for me and for now when I consider everything else the Lux package brings that I wanted. ✌🏼
If you have the B&O system you can’t do force scan apparently that’s coming from another TH-camr who has it and said he could not do the force scan with the BNO system..
Ok the real point here is, i agree 100% at 71k usd for a badlands optioned out, and the b&o system is just plain bad. My nissan titan with the factory rockford system blows it away. It actually has very good deep bass and sounds awesome. I am not please at all with the bronco system. Additionally you have to buy a $400 signal processor before you can even connect up an amp. No way around it you are spending $1700 to upgrade the ford system.
I have zero complaints with the B&O. Personally I have no idea what people are talking about. Had a ‘21 Rubicon with the Alpine system and honestly the B&O sounds just as good with the top off. Trying to upgrade factory audio systems these days is very frustrating and trial by error with all these integrated nav systems, etc without having to rip the car apart, installing amps, etc. I’m not ripping my new Bronco apart. You’ll pay for the Lux now or pay for it later with a lot of frustration imo.
The B&O on my 23 tremor was fantastic! On my 23 Bronco they absolutely are garbage! Just trash! I bought the infinity kappa 63xf 6.5 and they are 10x better! Not even in the same ball park! The pods I got the SSV works ones (should have got the Mabett ones) which are nice but I needed to get a grill for mine and Ida rather had the cleaner look of the mabett’s. Live and learn
I am going back and forth between the kicker ks model and the cs…! Right now the cs speakers are on a great sale with Crutchfield. Any advice from your experience? I am getting a kicker hideaway 10 in sub too
@@joshr19821 awesome! Kicker speakers are great. I’m sure you will be very pleased. I will say changing out the 4” dash speakers and putting bass blockers on them made a huge overall difference as well.

Those brackets that come with the Mabett pods are needed for 2 door Broncos. 4 door models use the existing.

The B&O is actually not bad. It sounds better when you switch it to surround instead of stereo for settings.
That’s one of a few mod’s I’ll do on both my Broncos. The hardest part for me would be figuring out the Fordscan! Thanks for the info!
I haven’t started the ForScan process yet, but when I do I’ll create a video.
I *think* those two brackets that comes with Mabett are for the 2-door. I just ordered mine (2-door Wildtrak).
If I have Bronco, I am going to put in Sony mobile ES system with 3-way components in the front for that nice frequency separation and sound stage.
Thanks for the vid! I’ll be doing this later this week
Glad I could help!
I have the B&O I’m happy with it.
Great videos and instruction. Thanks for having this channel!
Thank you! I do it for the Bronco community!
I have no complaints.

There are a lot of Forscan videos out there. I actually used one myself. Ragnorkon does a great one on YT

I thought it was just me, the subwoofer sucks.
You mentioned kicker KS model, can you tell me the model you actually used
He used the KS the ones that were in there were 4 in CS model. Tho I wished he would have played some music on both so we could hear the difference
All you have to do is line the inside with sound deadening pad. That’s what I did and it work well.

Ks is just higher quality. Watch a review video comparing them and that should help you.
@@MGIOadventures I think I will give the cs a try first and go from there. I am doing the same set as you on my big bend

Do you have the B&O? I understand you cannot Forescan the rear pods with B&O. You can only Forescan the NON B&O.
I do not
@@MGIOadventures Thanks!
You almost said foreskin. It's ok, it happens to me all the time.
🤦🏻♂️🫣🤣😉
Ypur not gonna get much sound without an amp or sib addition
I have the factory amp and sub. I do plan on adding an amp for the other speakers. Leaning towards the Kicker Key 200.4
@@MGIOadventures Did you add it?
My 2003 Passat sound system sounds better and that goes for my 1987 Audi 5000CS Turbo has a better stereo, and that is bone stock!!
