Very helpful summary. Does the Redarc Smart Start SBI provide any advantage with this new BCDC Alpha? The auxiliary system I'm considering would simply be a LiFePO4 battery with a BCDC Alpha and Smart Battery Monitor. The SBI seems redundant, but I admit to not fully understanding all the nuances yet.
The Alpha is not a true jump start, it supplies power to the primary battery to recharge enough to start the truck which does take time. With the SBI you could connect the two batteries and immediately start your vehicle. Something to point out is that not all lithium batteries have the cold cranking amps to turn over a vehicle so the alpha may be a better fit if you dont have a lithium battery with this ability.
The power is actually pulled from the auxiliary power system. If solar is available then that will be utilized but most of that power will be pulled form the stored energy in the batteries.
The only Manger Alpha's that Redarc currently produces are the Alpha 75 and the Alpha 100. The Alpha 75 would get you the extra 25Ah of charge DC, plus sure power charging up to 75Ah, as well as being compatible with the Redarc Redvision which gives you another means of monitoring and control over your battery systems. To run the Redvision screen with the BCDC Alpha you'd have to add either the TVMS Rogue or TVMS Prime.
I have a 630ah system with and would love to use 2 of these units for a 100amp charge profile. Would that be possible? And would they communicate, or have the ability to in the future?
Yes you could run them together to charge at 100ah, but they don't communicate. You would have to log into the Redarc app and monitor each BCDC independently. Not sure if you're familiar with it but the Redarc Alpha 100 may be a better option for you, however it is at a steeper price point. It would give you the 100ah charge profile you're looking for while also giving you the monitoring capability, sure power, solar, and the RedVison screen.
@cbadventuresupply Yes I've seen the 100, but I simply do not need it at all for anything other than the charge rate from my large solar array and alt power. I also have no use for the extra screens or things it provides since current systems are in place that function VERY well and are simple. Hopefully they Integrate communication function in the future as it will allow current setups to utilize them in synchronization without replacing the entire system as a whole or adding screens that are not needed. Thank you for your response a 🙏

At 2:06 , On the start recovery mode, the fast 15 min vharge comes from the solar pannels also or from the BCDC itself?
The power is actually pulled from the auxiliary power system. If solar is available then that will be utilized but most of that power will be pulled form the stored energy in the batteries.
@@cbadventuresupply Thanks !
So the only difference between the BCDC alpha and the 50A manager alpha is that the manager alpha can take shore power?
