I have an extended shaft (125mm) on my dd1, that gives me the possibility to have my monitor just behind the steering wheel. Give it a try if you want to get you monitors closer.
I ended up making that change actually. Works like a charm!
Oh that's a brilliant set up my good sir! Triples all the way and then some! When you are undertaking any endurance races in the future and is short of a Macca (aka: McLaren 720S GT3 EVO) driver, hook my name up on the roster. As I'm learning from your streams and taking notes as I go! I've just done a 90 minute race at Spa and out of 10 drivers that started, I finished on the podium in P3. So as they say, "If you need a driver, you know who you gonna call!" Brilliant set up there. The triples do add a whole new way of seeing the blind spots whereas a single monitor is unable to show where the car is along side your car. Looking forward to seeing the next stream! 10 out of 10 for an awesome set up.

raise the monitors and lose the bezel kit. the bezel kit for what it does isnt worth it when u have triples setup correct you barely notice the bezels, i found the bezel kit more noticible. raising the monitors so that the top of your wheel is just visible on screen is the best way you will gain extra height in your fov which means instead of cocpit you see top of window or car it far more immersive i found. otherwise great setup.
I actually really like the bezel kit, but we all have our own preferences. I ended up getting an extension shaft for the wheel, so the monitors sit right behind the wheel now. I’m happy with it 😁

Thats awesome Andrew! Looks amazing! That G9 has a massive curve. You never showed the couch behind you??? ;) Can you not raise the monitors to go up and over the wheelbase? Im very happy for you. Something for me to look forward to!
Thanks Kevin! I should have showed the couch I knew I was missing something 😆 And I could raise the monitors but they would be a bit too high. I can’t lower the wheelbase much or raise my seat enough either. Oh well still a blast!💥
Remove the center monitor, pull the whole thing closer, setup center monitor a few inches behind the steering wheel, just over the QR. Might make getting in and out a PITA though.

Same CPU and GPU as me... I just have a single 1440p 165hz monitor and a G29...
But I'm getting there
It’s a very good pairing of hardware. I’m getting great frame rates with the triples, so you don’t have to worry about your pc handling anything 😎 Have fun with your setup journey!
You can use the motor mount upside down so you can mount the dd lower so you can move the monitor stand forward towards the seat. Example: th-cam.com/video/rxl32_K2O7A/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the suggestion. I actually ended up getting a shaft extension for the wheelbase, so now my monitors sit between the wheel and the wheelbase!
Cool setup! Are you happy with those size monitors or do you wish you could go bigger??
Maybe look at getting the front mount for the DD motor, free up some space to allow the screens closer.
Thanks! I’m happy with the 32” monitors. I think it’s harder to find a 43” or higher monitor with all the right specs and at the right price. I’m not sure 1440p on a larger monitor would look great, so at that point you’re going 4K and sacrificing more performance than I’d like.
I did get a shaft extension for the wheel so now my monitors are right behind the wheel 😁

awesome setup! do you have 4 display port cables going from ur gpu to all 4 of your monitors?
Thanks! I have the triples going to the three display ports on the GPU. There's an hdmi port as well but the G9 won't go above 60hz without display port, so I have to swap one of the triple's dp cables for the G9. It's the only annoyance I have with it 😆

Thanks! Its 59.5in (about 151 cm) from end to end. They are angled at 120 degrees.

Are you using a display port switch? Because it looks like your running your sim rig and gaming setup on one pc
Yes everything there is running through that one PC. No switches though. I have the triples using the 3 display ports on the GPU and when I use the ultrawide I just switch one of the triples DisplayPort cables. Unfortunately the G9 can’t go above 60hz with hdmi, otherwise I’d be using all four ports on the back of it.
My question is from left to right how big is it from the furthest monitor to the right side of the desk ?
I’ve got about 133in or about 338cm.
@@wilsonxci ah okay. I only have 258cm to play with. I need a Homeoffice desk and would like to find some space for triples without rearranging the whole cable and room layout :/
@@3lackhol3 well I do have quite a long desk. I think if you have a smaller desk you might be able to fit it all in. Hopefully you can figure something out!
I would like to using my future sim rig and my gaming setup all by one pc...how does that function, how do you go from the gaming setup to the rig using one pc...i dont know but if you could help me i could save a lot of money
I run 10-15ft usb and DisplayPort cables from the rig to my pc. Normally, my desk monitor would occupy the fourth connection into my gpu which is hdmi, but because it doesn’t go above 60fps, I usually turn off Nvidia surround on the triples, then turn off the monitors, and swap one of the three DisplayPort cables with the DisplayPort cable from my desk monitor. It’s a minor inconvenience but the enjoyment I get easily outweighs it.
