    I think he was alongside and you should have give him more space. That being said, his aggressive style makes that he will find himself in these sort of incidents more often. I think he can afford it because he is so good that in 99 out of a 100 times he can still save the situation.

      There was a big speed difference, Max came longside late, but it's multiclass and there was no need to run it that wide. It's just pressing the issue with a famous driver. Doubt he'd do the same with the other faster cars?

    People in these comments are actually cracked lol. Pause at 7:51. Kireth is just past the apex and Max is behind. That's really end of story, it's Kireth's line. But ok 7:52 Max is still behind imo, front wheel is at back bumper. And look at the Mustang two cars in front. That's where Kireth is trying to be, and is entitled to be. 7:53 is front wheel to back wheel, and it's too late. 7:54 Kireth brakes clearly after contact or at least when it's clear that Max isn't backing out. Those breaks are to try and avoid an early exit to the race. Could Kireth have backed out, knowing it was Max and what would probably happen? Sure, but that's what Max counts on, drivers not wanting to crash out. He does the same thing in F1. I've watched a lot of IMSA and WEC, if a driver does what Max does there, they get a penalty and the commentators berate them for a stupid move. FYI I love RB they are my favorite F1 team so this isn't Max hate. More people need to stand up to him on track so he doesn't make moves like these. In F1, someone will stand up eventually because you can't let a driver do this forever.

    Going back to your talking point about max’s driving style and how he does the sim racing. I love how you pointed it out because I have been trying to figure it out of what is his driving style. He wants his racing line so bad he will intimidate you to get out of the way. He wants free air and his line and that’s it. He will make you mess up because you know he’s all over you and if you don’t give him his space you will hit each other.

      Lewis lacks more than a bit as he was dumped straight into the best car, which strengthened his entitlement in turn that has allowed errors and bad patches to creep into every season. Max was utterly flawless in 2023 which he built up to driving non perfect cars. Remember in 2022 Ferrari took 50% of the poles and had to be caught or pressured into mistakes at times.

    Great video, I've been trying to explain this to people for years, it's super hard to explain and I think you're the first TH-camr I can think of who's really cracked how verstappen works
    I personally realised it years ago now and have become prob the best overtaker I know, but I've never been able to articulate it like this, you did it very well, much respect
    Personally I think this really is something you either have or you don't, because it's such a psychological thing, it's kinda the same difference between a pro and amateur boxer in a way, the guy who controls the ring almost guarantees the win, but to teach a man how to exert this control is super difficult because you need to be in control to learn in, and most people just never get there or even understand what I'm saying here
    I persoanlly learnt how to do it through live music believe it or not, I'm a guitarist and I started playing live gigs when I was like 13, and I realised there are subtle psychological things that can control audiences and energies in the room
    Again, I still can't articulate what this actually means in practical tangible terms, but it's an energy thing that transcends racing

    • @justamanchimp
      @justamanchimp 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      *The caveat though is you genuinely need to world class fast in the first place, otherwise the faster drivers will always get you in the end
      I'm prob like top 5% fast, I win a lot, but in the rare occasion I come across a 1% driver, sure I can rival him, a lot of times I still out race him and beat him psychologically, but if they are on my level psychologically, it's almost like the charade falls, the mask comes off, it's just a matter of time before their raw pace beats me
      I don't think I'll ever be 1% fast, mainly because of my vision, I kind got a wonky eye lol, it stops me being able to look far enough ahead, but for sure I can slap up 95% of people, no matter what race, no practice whatsoever, I always come at least p4, even starting from the back, the amount of last to first races I've won is crazy

    Pretty much in racing no bit of the track is yours if ocupied by another car. You drove him of the side of the track. He got him self alongside you comming out of the corner, you should not be forcing a drive to break comming out of the corner. He had the speed and the track along side you and you drifted out. Racing is not about "blocking" the other drivers its about taking your line and holding it, he went for the wide line and got along side you, and at that point he is intitled to hold his line. You might have wanted the same line but he got their first and you just chose to ignore that. Thats not agressive driving, thats was just miss judged driving.

    I think Max' dominating the line is possible but can lead to something dangerous if he applies it in real life. I believe we already had seen such style beginning to fracture if he is trying to overtake someone that knows his style and wont give away. That either leads to a crash or either of them needing to give place and/or leaving the track. We already saw some of it in his battles against Norris (Which also had race sim'ed with/against Max)
    I think it will either lead to lose of money for the team(s) to keep repairing the car(s), or driver(s) getting penalized by their action on track. He is for sure testing waters with all of this. I dont know if we can say he is Senna materiel, but he is for sure up there with how he is able to almost keep the same lap time again and again. His driving on real life track is amazing to watch, and we do often see him finding that 1% extra when he really needs to push. Like if he had a bad quali and needs to start lower on the grid
