- If you’re moving from California to Tennessee, you may have to get used to some changes when it comes to running errands. Since most people living here enjoy and cherish their time away from work, they close their businesses after 5:00 and are usually closed on Sunday’s and major holidays. Depending on the business and part of Tennessee that you’re in, this may differ- but it was an adjustment for me when it came to convenience. Same with Austin, TX. They’ve completely ruined our city too. Cost of living has skyrocketed, housing costs are insane, traffic is horrendous now, homeless people everywhere, etc. They’re like parasites that go from city to city destroying them and ripping of them of their unique culture. Sucks. 👎🏼

Hmm where is that southern hospitality everyone talks about cuz I’m not reading it here in some of these comments. Be kind we are all just trying to live in a crazee world no hating on folks just because of where they are from. Most people on the west coast are transplants from somewhere else.

I've got friends from California and everywhere else, but they don't act nothing like these assholes that's moved in over the last few years. They're crappy city people from everywhere not just California. They cause the most road rage, they don't have any manners, they won't shut up, they alway mention where they're from like I really care, and they bring thier crappy ways with them instead of leaving that crap behind.

Same thing here in the Ozarks. Businesses close by 5PM and aren't open Sunday.
I didn't know they close at 5pm in Tennessee but that makes sense people want to stay home on God's day to honor God praise the Lord for them!! Are you a Christian and do you honor God on Sundays and the rest of the week (if so, God bless you because as you can see from my picture, I'm also a Christian too)!
In ca nothing's open at all due to the covid Lock down. I guess that's why u moved here.

Things used to stay open late… and even all night in Nashville. Coco, herm cafe, multiple delis, thriving downtown late night shit. Some say corona happened. The majority of natives will tell the truth, which is that Californians ruined it lol. I didn’t want to accept it, but now I’m cool with it and have left. If y’all want to come to that town, then bring some equal job opportunity with you or go to another town where they actually employ non-transplants at relatively astronomical wages….

@Raven-gs6iz I'm so sick of seeing this go-to. Our "Southern hospitality" is located somewhere between our wanting to save our mountains from developers, and being able to afford housing. We need to start charging rent and home buying costs in a manner that reflects the salary someone is relocating from, and NOT the prices that we can already hardly afford. This whole "king of the rock" issue is going to lead to more environmental decline. "Build more homes," is NOT the solution either. Where's our Southern hospitality? Where's California's shame for taking advantage of people who just want to live a simple life in the country without having the rat-race thrust upon them?

I never knew this... been living in Nashville for like 20 years. Things are always open -- even on Sundays! lol!
A hearty thank you to all Californians moving to TN, jacking up the prices of our homes, jacking up our property taxes, voting blue and gradually overcrowding and ruining our state. Stay where you are and fight to make it better.

Nothing is open past like 5:00 in the closest city i live to witch is over a 45 min drive to get there that means i live in the country country part of tenneessee i wated to go to ulta on Sunday but it was closed it closes at 6:00

I've noticed that most banks here are closed at the most random times. Even Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. So frustrating.
Yes it seems very random when things are open and closed! I know covid played into that slightly but I know it it somewhat the "norm" as well
