The ever-rising cost of housing is pushing a lot of lower-income Nashvillians out into the streets or having to find motels they can afford. I know a lot of people never think about how we all depend on service and hospitality industry workers, but when they can't even afford a place to live, there is something wrong with the system that will eventually bite all of us in the fanny.

This isnt a Nashville problem, it's a nationwide problem for so many metro areas. Those cities/states need to figure out how to help with the population and therefore housing & rental increases happen.

If living in apts you can barley park in your parking spot in front of your window/door when you leave to come back. A lot of this 2 to more cars taking up parking spots. Go get a 🏠. It's ridiculous.

I don't mess with them they don't message me and there's no problem. But I am truly debating on leaving Nashville which has been my home for the last sixty years period due to all the newcomers here in Nashville. I don't feel that it's my home anymore. I live in Nashville and totally agree with you. I walk my neighborhood several times a day as I work from home and have never encountered so many rude people in my life. Young people that force you off the sidewalk because they are unable to stop walking side by side to allow you to pass or they can't pull their dog in so you can pass. They do not wave at you or say hi, hello or hey. I've lived here for over 7 years and only have met a couple of people I would feel comfortable asking a favor of and that is totally new to me.

Came from texas because was trying to move back to texas but Californian transplants made prices too high. As a musician, thought I’d try Nashville. Least friendly place I’ve ever lived (which includes California and New York City). Even locals seemed weary and over stressed from the non music transplants flooding the area to transactionally take advantage of the economy. Most people were fake or completely unwilling to open up for genuine connection. Most isolating experience. That amount of influx of people does not work with all those hills.
I feel for y’all who are from there. I got outta there. Too chaotic even living 45 minutes outside of downtown. No one seemed to want genuine connection and would simply assume I was there to be transactional when I wasn’t. People seem to be too stressed out by the overpopulation to actually listen and hear each other. “Politeness” seemed forced and hardly there.

Great video guys. We've lived in Nashville since 2017 and I'd like to add a few things to your list, both positive and negative.
    1. The Whiskey scene is outstanding. Not just JD and George Dickel, but there are so many smaller distilleries in and around Nashville. I'm a big whiskey nerd and this is one of my favorite things about the city. They often have special releases and events at the distillery and I'm all for that!
    2. The traffic and transit situation is ROUGH. If you don't live close to where you work, get ready for a commute.
    3. If you have kids, I'd say the school situation in Davidson county is not ideal. If you can afford to get to Hendersonville or Williamson county, the schools are fantastic. But in Nashville proper, the public education system is certainly not the best.
    4. There is always something to do. Events are pretty much constant and you'll have plenty of things to choose from every weekend as far as food events, festivals, etc, etc. If you're 21+ and enjoy going out, then you will love Nashville.
We've enjoyed it here so far, but can certainly tell there are growing pains, affordability and transit at the top of that list. We bought a house in Williamson County in Nov 2020, and if we had waited just 2 months, we couldn't have afforded it. The prices the last few years have gone crazy, and with interest rates where they are now, I'd say a lot of Nashville is out of reach for the middle class, which is something you wouldn't have said even just a couple years ago.

I know exactly how you feel, was raised in a town called Lanesborough in Massachusetts, people from New Jersy and New York are flooding into my small lake town and buying all the summer cottages and building half million dollar to million dollar homes up along the lake that drove up the rent and property taxes. HATE city people, they don't give a shit about the middle class. I am thinking about moving to Tennessee, but I am moving because of politics mostly, I am a Conservative Constitutionalist, if I move, I won't be putting up a million-dollar house, more like 200K to 250K.

People out here are just as rude and nice as they are all across the country. Even the older, native residents are no more kind then anyone else I've interacted with.
Also, I rarely ever see anyone (except me) that's open carrying their handguns. It was much more evident in states like Arizona, the only thing I see more often are signs on small businesses that inform customers the staff have conceal carry permits.

The End and Cobra are very poor examples of a “metal” bar/venue. Having experienced both East coast and West coast metal club scenes firsthand in Portland and Philly, Nashville is an absolute and utter joke. The metal scene here is still extremely underground and is not prominent or supported whatsoever, AT ALL. I know most, if not all of, the metal heads here in town. This stupid city runs on garbage pop country “music” and promotes that 24/7 365. Broadway is nothing but modern country, cover bands that play Bon Jovi and cringe worthy wannabes.
