Looks like it puts itself into horizon lock automatically when you are using the joystick? I just noticed that when you did the orbit around the thing at 21:20…pretty nice 👍🏼
Oh okay, so if you look at the drone footage as compared to the goggles footage during that orbit maneuver, you’ll see how the horizon always stays level on the drones recorded footage as compared to the goggles footage where you can see that the drone is actually banking, or rolling, to the right to maintain the orbit. Since the drone gimbal only corrects for up and down or pitch, that’s something that has to be “corrected” for in the recording itself and the Avata 1 offered a setting you can turn on called Horizon Lock. You had to select that option though, it wouldn’t ever auto Horizon Lock, even when using the dumb stick, you could see the rolling in the drone footage. Anyhow I just noticed that we could see your banks and rolls most all of the video except for when using the thumb stick. Makes sense that they would change that from the original, very nice feature
Nice first flight Mr. Idaho FPV! Isn’ t it cool to fly in the same spots but to be able to see them from another vantage point? I’m glad you are liking the goggles. Having those adjustments on the goggles are great. Looking forward to seeing more flights from the Avata 2!
Nice test flight, i could tell you enjoyed flying the Avata 2 more than your Avata 1. It's just a better drone in every way, goggles 3 and motion 3 as well. You had a few bumpy moments there, but nothing major. But I would advise most folks not to mess with those rates until they had at least a few flights with the standard rates. Thanks for sharing.
It took me a flight or two get use to the Motion 3. It's still responding slowly with I do the 180 Clide in Easy Acro; but the updates and improvements from the OG Avata have made it so worth it! Safe and Fun flying my friend... Thanks for sharing! Like #45
I am thinking about adding the additional headpad to the googles to take some of the pressure off the bridge of my nose, but not suree if that will cause additional light leakage. I adjusted all the rates when I first set up the drone. DJI has Normal and Sports Mode set to the same rates. I was puzzled why they did that. Great video Marcus.
You know Marcus, I think I like the color profile on the Avata 2. The other guys that have one of these, I was equally impressed with the sharpness and color saturation. Thanks for clueing us in.
Great first flight. I hate when I pick the furthest part when flying and someone decides to setup next to me too. Looks like you got a hang of this one pretty fast
What a hoot! As I mostly fly for photo/video capture, and not that often, I'm probably not an FPV candidate. Nice work though. I do admire your tenacity to master that beast. Thanks for sharing.
Nice video... You really can't hear me through TH-cam, huh? Hahaha! A few notes; 1. Use the dang lanyard for the Motion Controller. Ken dropped and broke his on almost the first day! 2. You can press the scroll wheel twice to get into Pass Thru Mode in stead of tapping the goggles. 3. Leave the rates alone in Normal Mode but max them out in Sport Mode.
@@londenard I really wish there was a setting to have it auto record on takeoff and continue recording after landing, rather than automatically stopping.
@@SunriseWaterMedia Yea but then you'd have a ton of useless footage... I have that now with the Mavic 3! Hahaha! You can turn it off Or... I think that if you turn on recording before take off, it might stay on after landing since it didn't turn on automatically... Try it.
@@londenard It definitely turns off even if I manually start recording. I wish we could set it to auto begin and then auto stop but with a 10 or 20 second lag after landing (or crashing). I miss all the crashes half way through the best parts! Haha
Blowing a hoolie 😂👍🏻 Gorgeous reservoir!! Ah you defo subconsciously want head tracking on… you were trying to look down to land 😂👍🏻. Hehe panic over the water 😅! Next time barrel roll and loop the loop? Glad these goggles are better for you 👍🏻
Thanks Marcus for those amateur moments, they are very good for all learning listeners. Are you planning on showing an Avatar 2 flight using a control that is not the hand controller? Thanks again!
We are all human with the orange button 😅this is why I love your videos. Also thanks for the info on doing an orbit with thumb stick and tilting your hand. I was wondering about that.
Hi General thanks so much my wish have come through for a2 . You are always awesome. I feel it's very difficult to operate it huh? I always pick inspiration from your videos. The first flight was very entertaining 😂😂😂❤ and lovely. Big up General Marcus I salute again. Welbeck here.
Have very much enjoyed wathcing your stuff. I live in Sandpoint by the way. HIt us up if you go flying around here - are you using Gyroflow to stabilize your footage or what?
You You tube guys have many drones. What have you got under your shirt ?A couple of ferrets .Great video you should take up story reading your voice sounds cool.
Have fun with your new Avata 2, Marcus. Flying with goggles is not for me. I think Johnnie Drone Flyer said that the 2 is quieter than the 1, but the Avata 2 still makes enough noise to get noticed. Cheers.
I Love your vid's mate I might just have to get me one when I save up the piggy bank lol $2,000 down here in Australia just would like to know if you only pull the trigger 1/2 way does it only go half speed love to see a vid of camera on your hand to see what is going on there I bet that was a fishes bum hole moment over the water lol......
Wow! It's still pretty loud. And damn, you have no luck having privacy. Unreal. I was on the dark side of the moon. And someone sat right next to me. Unreal
22:15 Stressed me out so much, Lol! Avata almost took a swim!
Great review!
Ha! Thank you! Yes, I was nervous at that moment! 🙂
Good show thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Good information. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Really cool flight once you got going
Yes, it took me a while. 😂
Looks like it puts itself into horizon lock automatically when you are using the joystick? I just noticed that when you did the orbit around the thing at 21:20…pretty nice 👍🏼
Thank you! It is a whole different skill set. I'm not sure about horizon lock, I think I could still tilt up and down even when using the joystick

Darn Marcus I thought that you were going to show us the submersible capabilities of the Avata 2. Nice first flight day. Thank you for sharing.
Yes Bob, I got a few more grey hairs with that one. 😄
Excellent video Marcus. Really enjoyed the great perspective of that location. Thank you.
Thank you! It was great fun!
Hi Marcus.....Nice first flight. I was looking at the avata 1 to purchase. Sure glad I waited. Will get one soon.
It's a lot of fun Jim!
Superb first flight, Marcus. Enjoyed it. Thanks!
Thank you Thanos! It was fun!
Your notes about the goggles comfort are spot on. Totally agree that they are the best this far.
Yes Kris, the goggles 3 are so good they make me giggle. 🙂

nice flying 👍🏼 i’ve never used the motion before
It's pretty easy. It's fun to try something different.

Thank you Capt. Joe! I agree, the Motion 3 is a winner.
I flew my air 3:today with the goggles 3. It was epic.just another level of fun🇺🇸🤠😃😁
Yes, I agree. This one is another winner!
Another fun video! Thanks Marcus! it is Tony. The doctor that Bill introduced us at the drone meetup.

It never fails. An empty parking lot, and the only place they can find to park is right next to you. 🙂 Really it's just people's natural curiosity.
Double-clicking the roller on the MC3 will quickly switch between FPV view & Real View.
Yes, it sure will. Thank you!

I do not have the stick controller, and will likely stick with the Motion 2 controller only. Thank you for watching!
Marcus, did you ever try the motion controller left handed? That is the way I would need to fly it! Tom
It would work either way. 👍 Thank you Tom.

Why do you use metric units? I would like to know how fast you are flying, but not enough to convert it.
