A good comparison of these 3 drones. I did a screen shot of each respective drone for my own comparison as I like the ability to analyse the images side-by-side. My conclusions are that the Skydio has by far the sharpest image showing good detail but lacks contrast slightly. As to be expected, the Parrot Anafi is the least sharp, has less saturation but also has a green bias. The Mavic Air 2 has a great image quality overall and good colour balance. The HDR aspect of all three drones was pretty good.
You are spot on with your analysis Kev! The Skydio engineers clearly have tried to emulate GoPro's color science. Like you, the Mavic Air 2 is the one the I prefer. DJI is just tough to beat.
Thank you! The Army Corp of Engineers are very drone friendly here. They told me I don't even need to ask, just notify them when I fly, and of course carry my permit.
Thumbs up ere' Marcus, 3 drones, comparison and in HDR - great location - yet again DJI win - great demo and info - many thanks for sharing - stay safe you two :)
Kool video Marcus. Thanks so much for sharing Sir. Much love and respect brother Crawford. The Skydio 2, Parrot Anafi and the Dji Mavic Air 2 are just phenomenal. Love them all. The video footage is great on every single one of them, but if i had to pick one it will be the Dji Mavic Air 2. I think is just amazingly great. Have a great evening Captain 👨✈️. Thanks for all you do and please keep flying.
Thanks for showing us around Marcus. The Parrot seemed to have a weird colour ( or should I say color cast), but I was impressed with the quality of the image from the Mavic Air. Once again, a great video that gets me out of the lockdown for a few minutes. Keep up the good work :)
I was shocked, by the footage of the Anafi. But these pale colors are only in bright sunlight and with HDR enabled. In this situation I would try the standard "Naturel" mode and maybe a ND-PL 8 filter, which boost the colours to the Skydio. Please, if you have the time gave a look to this footage m.th-cam.com/video/yfMhqLLOAwk/w-d-xo.html Have fun with your favorit drone =)
I didn't compare resolutions, but the color rendition between the S2 and MA2 was neck and neck, with the Anafi a distant third place on my PC monitor. Since they all seem to have a respectful 4K/30fps HDR capability, I'll give my overall nod to the MA2 because of the precision landing and Airsense. That's the first time I've seen Airsense in a real-life scenario in a YT video. Impressive!
Thank you for sharing. It was very interesting to see all three drone and their images. The MA2 battery life is amazing, I was so surprised you were able to come back in sport mode and then do two more areas. Wow. Thanks again.
That was all very interesting and enjoyable, Marcus - thanks for all your work making the video. Sara’s input was useful and is appreciated. I really enjoyed the different views at the opposite side of the reservoir from ‘normal’. I think the Anafi was ahead of its time with some features - and it’s still very good. The Mavic Air 2 is just outstanding in so many ways (although it’s a shame we don’t get Airsense here in Europe). Best wishes to you both - keep safe.
To my eyes, the skydio does a fantastic job with colors and the depth in the image. Obviously the Mavic air 2 is fantastic as well, but I am a bit bugged by what I see as fairly high level of reds in the image. The Anafi is pretty blow out but fairly detailed.
Love your video's, and fab reviews, But HDR is for when It's very bright and sunny like in this video, so perfect to test, it stops the sky birning out and at the same time lightens the shadow area's, giving you a Higher Dinamic Range HDR..?

Awesome intro graphic, Marcus. I don't think I've said that before. Great comparision on these drones. I say the Mavic Air 2 wins!!! That's a very nice area to fly.

I'm going to favor MA2 for image quality. Question - do you need to contact anyone at Lucky Peak to fly quadcopters? What about Bruneau? I love that there is a skilled pilot in my hometown. Now for me to get out and get a first flight in with the MA2.
Yes Tania, at Lucky Peak you need to get a permit from the Army Corp of Engineers to fly there. I suspect it would be okay at Bruneau, but I would ask first. Idaho State Parks are drone friendly. I fly at Eagle Island once in awhile.
@@IdahoQuadcopter At Bruneau today, a park ranger told me this area was military airspace and there is a bombing range just past the dunes, therefore don't fly your drone. I'm new to Idaho but this sounds...a bit different. Didn't fly the drone, I don't want to be that drone pilot that ruins things for the rest of us. So frustrating!
@@TaniaGail I just looked on Air Map and yes, the bombing range is not fat from the park. The park itself is not in a no fly zone however. If the rangers tell you not to fly though, I guess we can't.
I would wait for the next generation Anafi. The current one is definitely better than MA 1. With Anafi's 180° cam you can film high buildings or mountains. It is lighter and has a built-in flight plan which are definitely good for travel. I wish MA2 would have some Zoom function. But you must buy another version. Anafi's picture is not the best among the three, but for travel it is a multi talent.
Unfortunately, Parrot's CEO said recently that they are through with the consumer drone business. As of yesterday DJI added a digital Zoom to the MA2. 👍
It's a tough call between the Skydio 2 and Mavic Air 2. The Anafi is clearly in third place here. I thought the sky looked better in Skydio video and water looked better in the Mavic Air 2 video. If I had to pick a winter I would say the MA2 by a nose.
Good to see you out there doing this comparison. So, The Anafi was just not acceptable video. The HDR may have been working just fine, but the exposure, color rendition and detail were poor. The Skydio looked pretty good. The colors (mostly the green) seemed to pop nicely. Detail was good and the exposure was pretty good. I really thought I liked it best, until you put up all 3. Maybe a minor difference, but I think the MA2 got the Lava rock on the point the best. Dark, but not too dark, pretty realistic. The Skydio lava was a little blown out and over exposed. Overall, the MA2 video did it for me. Regarding the MA2 HDR, when you drifted to the right at the point there was some deep shadow in the lava wall. The MA2 did a nice job of getting some detail in there, without blowing out the depth of the darkness, nicely done. Thanks again and take care, be safe. 👍 P.S. I went into sport mode twice the other day and got gimbal drop on both occasions 😢
Thank you Doug. Honestly, I thought going into this that the Skydio would win out. However I think the HDR effect is a little over done with the S2. The Mavic Air 2 got it just right!
Am considering the Mavic and the Anafi. Can you adjust the manual Anafi settings enough to get more realistic? I really like its zoom feature. Kinda bummed I didn’t see it here.
