I have almost 200 hours in flight with the avata 2 and it really is so incredible for a drone. The stop button can stop it from a mid air tumble, the GPS is extremely accurate in case you lose it, its truly a beginners drone. Though, I do recommend at some point upgrading to the manual FPV controller, and practice with manual mode. While the normal and sport mode are great for flying with crutches, the drone can really do so much more in manual.
broo, i bought the mini 3 thinking i could do this but after buying many drones i got the avata 2 coming in 1 day and theres no way im gunna use a motion controller first time when i try it. its gunne be the fpv controller for sure hahahah
@AlD0-Ls I thought that too. The motion controller is super fun as well though. I thought I'd hate it,as a traditional rc flight guy. But it is accurate and fun as anything. Definitely try it.

I woke up this morning and if i’m honest, in a bad mood, hardly any sleep and with a tough day ahead; my first video of the day and suddenly i’m chuckling, thanks man! That’s a care and refresh at till for me then. You did pretty good though, I’m impressed, guess this is part and parcel of life as a fpv pilot. It’ll keep you fit though. Thanks, DJI will love this video, you showed the drones durability.
My first FPV as well. It was cool to see your journey! There is definitely a quick move from beginner to flying around fast and I think the "getting too cocky" thing is a shared experience for new folks. I know it was for me. As far as dives and recovery, Ive found the little 4-way thumb controller helps with adding Y-axis lift and dive, adding an "up" or a "down" with the thumb controller to add to the lift or the dive. Pull back on the motion controls AND push up on that thumb controller = faster upwards lift. Extra help with this is to go into the Motion Controller settings and crank up the speeds of the 4-way thumb controller all the way. Makes them more powerful for this kind of thing. Also, they programmed the turns and stuff to be slower and longer while in sport mode. Its dependent on the velocity of the drone. The faster you go, the slower your drone will bank. I can see why they did that but its worth knowing. You get used to how tight it banks in Normal but then you try that in Sport and it cant do it as tightly. I wish we could flip which direction is "up" and "down" on the 4-way thumb controller so it would work similar to the motion controls (pull back on motion controller is up, so pulling "down" on the 4-way thumb controller should be up as well, just like a flight video game).
To get some of those dive looking shots if you turn on head tracking. And do both at the same time it can do it to a point. Tilt your head up points the gimbal up as you are flying. And vice versa, tilting down and trying to do a Dive. couldn’t agree more with the refresh I recommended to everyone who has any DJI products
Really enjoyed the video. Loving my Avata 2. I have been a drone pilot since the original DJI Phantom. First time trying the fpv side with the Avata 2 and really enjoying it. Thanks again for the content.
i'll be thinking about purchasing one of these for quite some time, and I have to say I really really enjoyed your video, you got straight to the point with none of the technical crap . I loved every minute of it . Thank you so much much 10/10 ❤( UK )
love the way how you have approached this drone, glad to had the chance to accompany you on your learning journey. big up and respect man! keep pushin!
Best overview of the gear and modes and um, risks! I’ve seen so far with this cool looking new drone. Thanks! I still want it, but maybe after I get some FPV practice with a cheaper micro FPV.
Awesome video and thanks for sharing. Definitely want to get one of these. I am also going to get the DJI care deal and I saw a rubber guard that fits on the avata 2 around the frame. 😊
Need to get those Dobo Rib riders! Once you get use to that normal mode, Next time you fly around your home it will be so much fun with the motion controller. I am loving Manual Mode with that new Avata 2. It flies so much better than the OG Avata! Glad you got this! You are going to just fall in love with that drone!
Basic motion practice 6-10 times before moving on outdoor stuff. Many real estate surveyors use this because of the blade guarded feature! That’s where I started and before even going outside, 10-12 flights inside is a great way to start. Plus yu don’t have to worry about having an observer. I got it to FIRST use with my Mini 4 Pro’s new FPV option. Outside you are required to have one. Enjoy.
I bought a "cheaper" Aquila 16 to fly indoors and see if I liked it So much fun to fly through the then out an upstairs window. Go tour the then fly back inside. Upgrading modes makes the response sharper. You can set the camera angle. FOV is a little narrow but you get good sense of distance to objects.
How were you able to find the location when you lost them twice? I lost mine once and could get it back because i couldnt find the location! Crazyy.. would appreciate some help
Wish they made the Avata with removable prop guards. Seems like a unibody design. If there were removable prop guards then you'd just have to replace the one that's broken. no need to trim off compromised part, which might later on affect structural integrity of the drone. Besides these are so expensive. FPV inevitably crash due to the nature of their flight, as opposed to regular mavics. DJI should build them like tanks.
You have to get DJI care with one of these $50 bucks a replacement as long as you recover the drone. It still sucks that its unibody though. Many repairs on regular FPV drones cost way less than $50 if you learn how to do the work.
@@brandon9689 Yes this is great but DJI Care Refresh isnt available to a lot of people. Why? because DJI Refresh is available only in few countries. Great video guys. I've been watching a ton of Avata 2 content, and I'm about to get one in a couple weeks. One thing you've probably learned by now, the drone is much more nimble with the dual stick controller. Especially in full manual mode - but there's a big learning curve. Thanks for the video Terry. I just ordered one of these and it'll arrive soon. I already own two more drones DJI Phantom 4 Pro and a Mini 3 Pro. It's going to be my first time in FPV mode flight and I see you're prone to probably crash the drone if you're not familiar with its system. Did you change the settings first? It by default has lower speeds using the motion controller. I don’t mess with that at all. Like I have it but the RC3 I already knew I needed since I have the RC 2 and the first Avata. This new one is much better than the 1st though! Night and day, plus the camera is mucho better
you should change to sports mode or manual mode after traning in a sim with a fpv controller. And btw u kan use dji fly app to find the drone in settings.
first flight inside lights in hallway off drone lost vison positioning went straight up into side wall cornice near roof and dropped like a brick from 2.1m onto carpet luckily just two tiny scuffs.
Maybe put a spike in your banding if you have access to that setting on the controller. It will make the drones response time way quicker to be able to do such maneuvers.
It took me weeks of practice to get decent with the motion controller. I think that you were trying to fly The Avata 2 like it was in manual mode with a remote controller (he one that looks like a game pad). Early on I crashed into a creek after my goggles glitched out and I ended up getting a new one from DJI. It wasn't very far away and shouldn't have lost signal. Yes, get care refresh!
Loved your style. If you can get used to getting the gimbal to look where you turn your it's a blast. Think VTO airplane not drone. My flight instructor emphasized stay ahead of the airplane. I know where I want to go and can take a look to plan out the next 3 or 4 moves vs. relying on reflex.
I hate working night shift cause i haven’t been able to fly mine I flew it a few times and I crashed it cause I had head tracking on and i looked to the left and I knew I’d keep going straight but then a bush came up quick and crashed but it’s all good … i sadly didn’t get to get the Dji care thing cause I been busy and forgot about it but such a fun drone Wow i genuinely liked this video cause of the crashes and even after sanding a little bit on one side to clear the propeller was pretty dope to see it fly again
entertaining video, when it was snowing and you decided to fly it in the house it was like uh oh famous last words 😄 though it is something I probably would have done too lol
It started raining hard the day I bought mine. So I went home and did some vacuuming and mopping. I flew it around my house with the motion RC to dry the floors. Once I got better weather I went outside and tried the sticks on manual mode. I was able to hit 60 MPH very easily. With a tailwind I'm sure you can do 80 in manual.
Hey man, great video! I really enjoyed it. Also... WOW that thing can take a hit and keep on going... I have been reading where people are saying these are weak and not worth it... you crashed a handful of times, and it kept on going. Refresh is nice, I do wish the A2 was more user friendly though. It would be nice if you could have ordered the prop hoops and just swapped them out... if you know what I mean. Plus, what happens when the DJI refresh runs out? Anyway, thanks! I subscribed...
This thing is durable no doubt. I chrashed my avata 1 hard into a tree branch and then it slammed onto the floor. No joke the thing didnt even het a scratch. Not even a smudge! I was shocked
what i learn is the attitude after the crash bro, if me after that, not even mood to make the video, but in the end, i know why u still smillin, DJI Care Refresh.

I hate working night shift cause i haven’t been able to fly mine I flew it a few times and I crashed it cause I had head tracking on and i looked to the left and I knew I’d keep going straight but then a bush came up quick and crashed but it’s all good … i sadly didn’t get to get the Dji care thing cause I been busy and forgot about it but such a fun drone
Wow i genuinely liked this video cause of the crashes and even after sanding a little bit on one side to clear the propeller was pretty dope to see it fly again
entertaining video, when it was snowing and you decided to fly it in the house it was like uh oh famous last words 😄 though it is something I probably would have done too lol
Shouldn't you use some bumpers?
Wow great drone! Love to have one but the thing is it's too expensive to be my first drone.
Liking the Christmas decorations in May vibe lol
It started raining hard the day I bought mine. So I went home and did some vacuuming and mopping. I flew it around my house with the motion RC to dry the floors.
Once I got better weather I went outside and tried the sticks on manual mode. I was able to hit 60 MPH very easily. With a tailwind I'm sure you can do 80 in manual.
Great video! That thing is tough! Is that the same Kofi who filmed for Will Tenny?
Hey man, great video! I really enjoyed it. Also... WOW that thing can take a hit and keep on going... I have been reading where people are saying these are weak and not worth it... you crashed a handful of times, and it kept on going. Refresh is nice, I do wish the A2 was more user friendly though. It would be nice if you could have ordered the prop hoops and just swapped them out... if you know what I mean. Plus, what happens when the DJI refresh runs out? Anyway, thanks! I subscribed...
“I’m a real FPV pilot!” Ehhhh… *crashes* NOW you’re a real FPV pilot 😂
This thing is durable no doubt. I chrashed my avata 1 hard into a tree branch and then it slammed onto the floor. No joke the thing didnt even het a scratch. Not even a smudge! I was shocked
So its durable !? thats awesome ,I might have to pick one up
What camera is your friend kofi using?
I like the 24fps footage!
Terry! You need to get the originaldobo ribbed too keep the drone safe.
you need dji controller 3 if you want do do all this stuff without crashing it my man.
Great video !
I have one just haven’t gotten around to getting in the sim
I found doing a simulator first really helped me out before I flew mine. Simulator with a Controller.
Watching from germany, greetings very nice one. I wanna buy the avata 2 but i heard alot of people suing each other...
I crashed my avata 1 as soon as I got it but it really helped me master flying faster , now I don't wanna slow down
awesome man
It’s a Whole Different Ball Game When you Jump from Traditional Drones to FPV 💪🏽🙌🏽
It's a different ballgame when you jump from traditional drones into freestyle FPV without practicing more.
Nice video mate. 🎉
what i learn is the attitude after the crash bro, if me after that, not even mood to make the video, but in the end, i know why u still smillin, DJI Care Refresh.
Subscribed great video for those thinking about buying
Make more drone content brotha! Subbed!
I have been on the fence about grabbing this one. I know myself and probably would push it right off the bat as well 🤣
I think you graduated! Now its time for the stick controller!
I have one!
I thought you could just bail out by pushing the red button before getting it crash right?
great content, are you related to U-Stride? you speak and sound just like him even a slight resemblance lol
Do you own a cybertruck or is it your friends
Cool cybertruck btw
Subbing because you are a cool guy for buying him lunch.
Great video. New sub!
how do you get the telemetry graphics to appear on your video?
Record the googles. Put a micro SD card in the googles.
You didn't put the antennas up! 7:36
Not gunna lie, I’m shocked it’s still alive after what seemed like sure annihilation! lol
Good video. You just got another subscriber.
No way can I afford this. But I did enjoy your masterful? Video.
The classic first time flying inside the house 😂
great video fam.
That seems so fun
Might cop one
