As a Z fold 4 daily driver, the Z Fold 6 is a huge upgrade. The internals and specs don't do describe the reason why, it's the overall design changes that really make the day to day user experience far better on the 6 than the 4. The weight reduction, screen to body ratio improvement, and making the cover display not feel completely compromised completely change and improve the use of the device in gloriously apparent fashion in my opinion. I've stared at the Fold 4 cover display every day for 2 years, it took less than a second to feel the difference in the aspect ratio of the Fold 6 cover display. Holding the Fold 6 in my hand was far easier, the reduction in weight makes the device feel much more like a standard slab style phone when folded, which was never truly the case with the Fold 4. Going off of internal specs just is not the story for how the Fold series is evolving and improving, which is why the Fold 6 is a silent revolution and maturation of the series that is very notable for those of us who daily drive this type of device.
And the hinge!! The biggest difference! As a daily Z Fold 4 driver too, my biggest issue was the infamous hinge chain reaction. The glue melts > thin plastic strips start falling out > the Fold 4 doesn't open flat anymore > air bubble starts forming in the middle > have harder time using the inner screen.. I heard the Fold 5 hinge was much better, so imagine how much of an upgrade the Fold 6 is! NO BRAINER 🙌🏾
@SliceTheHitmaker The change in the hinge year over year shows where Samsung is focusing their energy and resources. It's showing up in very meaningful ways, the smoothness of the hinge in day to day use is huge. No longer needing to concentrate so much effort on the initial part of unfolding the phone will decrease so many instances of near drops... and yes, you could not be more right about the hinge failures in the 4. These faults caused screen issues on both my and my wife's fold 4s and both needed to have the hinges replaced. Life with a Fold 6 will be much easier, less stressful, and greatly improved due to these upgrades. Perfecting the user experience is ultimately what matters most.
@chasrifflord It seems as if the reviewers are stuck in the lane of updates and progress being equated to spec bumps and internal improvements. That's the only thing we can really improve on slab style phones... the physical characteristics of slab phones have long been decided. Foldables have many questions to answer before they can be considered a fully matured product that's ready for mass consumption. The Fold 6 shows that Samsung is beginning to zero in on that maturation process, as this latest iteration screams that it is a well polished product.
@damonrichardson8463 i honestly see nothing wrong with this new phone. Especially since they're focusing on the Z Fold 6 Ultra/Slim. BUT, if we're nitpicking I would only say this should have 16gb RAM and a bit taller to get rid of the black bars when watching movies on inner screen... 🤷🏾♂️ That's really it
I have the 4. Did the trade in for the 6. After a week I changed my mind and sent it back. And kept the 4. Wasn't enough changed for the extra 800 dollars.
Ok, i have owned the Z Fold 3, Z Fold 4 and now the Zed Fold Six. Between the 4 and 6 there are many differences on paper. Some are apparent when you hold them together side by side. They are the same phone with slight differences. It's still a large phone in the hand and it does everything i want and need it to do. Mainly open several windows at the same time, S pen compatible, and Samsung Dex. I like the big inner display screen very much. The reason i switched to the Zed Fold Six is because my Z Fold 4 was falling apart after two years. The screen protectors came off. I tried to replace it to no avail. The rubber insulation around the inner display was coming off. There are two improvements that helped in my decision; no gap when folded and it has a dust rating. A split second in processing speed, millimeter less thickness, and fractional grams less weight were not an impact at all. It is still a large phone in the hand. It gets the job done. My suggestion is to go with the phone that fits your bank account best. They are the same. I'm sure the older phones will get AI. Which isn't all that. Now you won't have to improve your writing and art skills.
just to clarify to ppl: I have the fold 6. The crease doesnt show at all when you are using the screen. aespecially when you have high brightness. It will only show slightly when you have direct light reflection of the screen from behind. which is not that common. and thats probably because of the plastic protected already installed on screen. It reflects light Im really happy with the phone BUT, It should have had a new 6000 battery and super charge and cameras from the big brother S24 Ultra
Yeah, not enough for me to make the switch from the Z Fold 5. I love the Z Folds but they really need to make the front screen bigger. I have a hard time doing anything with the front screen because it's way too small and your just forced to open up the phone constantly. So until they make the front screen bigger I don't think I'll be buying another Z fold for quite a while.
People need to remember that even if a video isn't sponsored by these phone manufacturers, many of These reviewers wish to gain favor with them and will give favorable reviews. Listen to me! I'm a former district manager for ATT & know these devices well. Samsung has sold us the same device 3 years in a row. Keep your current fold and pray that something changes next year.
I personally haven't been impressed with carrier salespeople or managers. I've seen too much bias based upon what they are pushing at the time. I remember when I bought my first note. The local sales manager told me that the size would never catch on and too many customers returned them. He tried to steer me to apple. Thankfully, I didn't listen. I understand his recommendations may have come from some customers, but the average customer typically doesn't know how to really take advantage of a phone's capabilities. More important than you being a district manager for a carrier is your personal experience with using the phone as your main phone. The local manager I dealt with did say he'd used the note but had no need for an Spen. That immediately disqualified him in my eyes. For me, those who have owned the Fold as their main phone and who also understand how to use the phone to near its maximum capabilites are the comments I find most useful. For it is possible that only in using the maximum capabilites can you really determine whether there is reason to upgrade or not.
Exactly what I needed, thanks. I've had Fold 1 (ie first gen) for 5 years and only TODAY am experiencing my first issues. It's been so great that I want another Fold Z (for reference, I also have iPhone 15 PM, but use the fold for most everything), and I don't like mindlessly jumping to the latest gen without research. Thank you!
Having gone from Fold 3 to Fold 4, it was a significant upgrade as i had several issues with Fold 3. Watching different reviews of Fold 4 and Fold 6, since there's really no outstanding differences, at least for me, to upgrade to Fold 6, I will keep the Fold 4 and wait & see what the Fold 7 brings, which i really hope will have the upgraded camera. By the way, i still have the old Note 20, and that takes better pictures and videos than the Fold4!
I enjoyed the Fold 6 being my very first samsung/android phone I liked and didn't send back right away but, I got a way better deal on the fold 5 1TB. Being a fan of Apple since forever I'm loving the foldable and punching the air at apple for NOT! creating one ugh!!!! however, I actually thought the 4 and the 6 were neck in neck on the photos but, that 8k on 6 got it.
I got to mess with the 6 and it's great! Best foldable of the 3. But i currently use the 4 and even with the trade in the price is near $1000. In every day use, i just don't know if I'd treat it much differently than what im doing now. Im ok keeping the 4 but congrats to all of you who got the 6!
Fold 4 users here.. using it every day with flying colours ❤ playing new games without any issue.. doing multitasking as usual.. then ribbon changes before samsung warranty 2 years.. after that, i have been using it as usual.. I'd love to wait for fold 7😅 hopefully have major upgrades rather than an update.. good video, by the way
Buddy, could you please elaborate on the ‘ribbon change’ thing? I didn’t get it. I’m about to purchase a hardly used Fold 4 for a much cheaper price but now worried about what’s this ribbon change thing pointed out by you. Is it a manufacturing defect?
@anikptl ribbon is a connector that connects two locations to other examples. u can't use wire, or it will snap a matter of days.. this what we call ribbon is more rigid and can last longer and more flexible yet rugged. Yiu can't do much because in our time (now), the technology is not there yet. Some use folds 1 more than 4 years, but in my case, not even a year. .as you can see, luck & how you use is depends 😉
I switched from the four to the six and the difference is really noticeable, especially in the front screen and the quality of both screens. It's a much sleeker and slimmer phone when folded. The main screen on 4 was very bad, it broke twice by itself, I hope they managed to fix those issues. Going from a four to a five would be pointless
Hii, up to date: would you recommend the z fold 5 or another phone. Fold 5 which I you can get around 800 eur used right now seems like the best choice. I look for performance and the best camera. Stability important too. Thanks for your opinion! ❤
Only reason I traded my fold 4 was because on fold 6 release day it stopped showing wifi networks and signal was acting weird looked everywhere and there's no fix for it so I was forced to "upgrade"
Great comparison. I agree that those incremental changes don't warrant annual upgrades. I'm holding on to my Z Fold 5 and don't think I'll upgrade to another slab phone unless there are major changes to the S25 Ultra. Beyond that, I'll probably hold out for an Ultra version of the Fold with a bigger battery, flagship cameras, and an internal S Pen.
A Galaxy Unfolded A marvel of tech, a sight to behold, A canvas of glass, a story untold. Six folds of wonder, a future so bright, A phone that unfolds, a stunning light. With power and grace, it stands apart, A masterpiece of engineering and art. A pocket-sized galaxy, in your hand, A world of possibilities, at your command. From work to play, it's always there, A faithful companion, beyond compare. A device that evolves, with every new day, A testament to progress, in every way. So let's raise a glass, to this marvel of tech, The Galaxy Z Fold 6, a future we can reach.
I just want a fold 4 to use as a tablet at home. I hate all the landscape style tablets. Awkward to hold. The first time i held one of these and opened it, it was a PERFECT size for reading and viewing web pages. Just fell in love immediately. Nice and thin, didn't weigh anything. And the way webpages look is so much better than my regular smartphone. As a phone, it would be a nightmare for me, considering my profession, but as just a super small, SQUARE tablet, it's perfect. I would never fold it closed. I'd just keep it by the bedside for when i do my reading and surfing. If anyone knows of an actual tablet with this form factor, please let me know because in Canada, even a used fold 4 is minimum $500. That's a lot for a tablet i'm only going to read webpages on. Thank you 😊
I replaced my 4 for the iPhone 15 pro max because I had to bring the Z Fold 4 back to Samsung for repair 3 times due to screen not folding open fully 😂
I have the z fold 4 and I'm not switching until I see a significant change and not just the specs but a wider screen, smaller bezel, thinner phone. I understand the chipset upgrade and all of that, but for me, I would barely even notice those changes. I didn't get the z fold because it was a great one handed device, I got the z fold because I wanted the option of the additional screen real estate. The Dust rating is fine but I keep my phone in a case anyway, so that helps. The z fold 6 looks like a great phone ,but it's not enough for me to upgrade.
@joesipr swear on anything. Its a great phone, a bit lighter and feels slim maybe cause of the case but the upgrade is not worth it. Hoping the flip is nice. If you're in 3 I would wait another year or 2. Only thing that would make the upgrade worth it would be a camera upgrade honestly
There is no way of picking the wrong one. All of them are the same with minimum effort put into improved tech or radical design changes. The cameras still are average compared to other flagship phones and no S-Pen inbuilt into the Fold. The battery life is below average for such an expensive phone as well. Nothing really convinces anyone to buy these apart from the bigger display. Samsung needs to step up their game
Honestly the upgrade from fold 4 to a newer fold is worth it just for the new hinge. The fold 4 and flip 4 hinge is unreliable and the screen protector keeps peeling off, while with the fold 5 I had no problems so far.
Camera on the Fold 4, the colors have a more vivid pop to them. Camera on the Fold 5 has a yellow/green tint to the colors and they are more toned down, contrast and gamma is higher. Camera on the Fold 6 has more toned down colors and it looks more natural and it has more of the same contrast and gamma profile as the Fold 4. It seems like Samsung Fold 6 went back to the look the camera had on the Fold 4 and just toned down the colors a little to make it look more natural.
I work at a pawnshop and I had a iphone since 3gs and wanted to get a fold lucked up on a fold5 512gb unlocked for 308$ with my discount in perfect condition so I'm happy for a first time user
The next Z Fold, the successor of the Z Fold Se needs to have Spen support on both displays and bigger battery capacity like Honor and it would be a dream to have the Spen Built in.
Ayo my dude! Should I get the fold 6 or the OnePlus open? Never had a folding phone before and currently I have an iPhone pro Max but I want a folding phone. Please help me choose between the two.
I can tell that you're a person that don't change phone that much so you prefer the durable phone. I wouldn't suggest the fold since there's a lot off issue in any folds. Buy the 24 or 25
@@ShivaPrinsolo my note 10 has been super. I even considered buying the s23 ultra because of the curve screen. Maybe buying the s23 ultra now, and give in exchange in January for the 25 no? So this way I can order the Watch ultra at a bigger discount also. What's your thoughts
The Z Folds are incredible phones but they are not without their flaws. The front screen is still way too small so coming from a 10 plus you'll have a difficult time unless you want to constantly open the phone to do anything. That being said, I started with the Z Fold 3 and I've had a difficult time going back to a regular phone so Z Folds I'm here to stay. The camera is also not that great in comparison to some of the other phones out there. So before considering the switch, think about what you do on your phone. Is it for work? Is it for school? Do you enjoy reading? Playing games? Watching movies? Those things no phone comes close to matching the Z Fold. But if your just a regular satisfied user who loves taking photos, videos, social media platforms, and messaging, the Z Fold may not be the right phone for you. Sorry for the long comment. Hope that helps!
@@artjogo helped a lot :))) I talked to a Samsung employer in store and he has same opinion as you, that I would be always opening the phone, coming from a 10 plus. I use a lot photography:)
Ive started with the fold one! All the way through the 6. I do sell my phones after a couple months. The s24U does everything i need! I do wish they added 45W charging
Just ordered the Fold 6 for trade in of a Fold 4. Got $1100 off so im paying $570 which isnt bad. i dont want to pay a high price for the Fold when the S Pen comes out so Im not trying to be far behind in value
I owned z fold 2 on release skipped the 3 got the flip 4 then missed the fold for media and big screen so went out and got the fold 4 then had that for 2 years skipped the fold 5 and now got fold 6 very happy indeed
The cover display doesn't come with a screen protector out of the box. But the larger display does come with a protector. The crease has slightly improved because inside the protector, it has some gel. You can't really feel the gel tho.
thanks for your review🙏🏻, its really easy for me to understand your explanation for me who had a bit hard time understanding english (im indonesian), and the way you explaining each phones are really detailed yet in a simple way, like its really helpful for me. Thanks a lot bro, i hope tour channel gets bigger and bigger.
I got the Z fold 4 512gb with s pen case the other week, second hand for $400. I'm more than happy with it and its compromises for this price. The folds brand new are not worth it for even most enthusiasts
Wait till you get those trade in discounts, you might change your mind. I've never paid less than $799 for any Fold. I'm on the 5 now and got offered $1500 off to upgrade to the 6 (I didn't. I'm happy with the 5 for another year). But when you upgrade and have a trade-in, it's usually well worth it and much less expensive than buying with no trade in.
@@BSingh-on4qr USA, and if I traded in a week ago, I'd have gotten a free 512gb upgrade and paid $500 total ($90 down and the remainder every month on T-Mobile, and it was like payments $24 or so with Samsung financing on an unlocked ZF6). I haven't checked what it is now, but they pretty much always offer a crazy pre-order deal and specials every month or two afterwards. On the ZF4 and 5, I got around $300 Samsung credit to get the buds, cases, chargers, watch, etc. So now that you have one to trade in, keep an eye on trade in specials.
Great comparo! I'd go for a renewed ZF4 for $350 just to experience the foldable experience. I dailydrive a Redmagic 9 Pro but the candybar format is a bit boring.
I'm not sure why he keeps saying it's the same screen because it's not, at all. I went from a 3 to a 6 and it's a major difference. Especially the camera and the outer screen😊. On paper and video it does not look like a big difference but once you have it in your hand and you look at it in person, oh yes!!!😊
Have the zfold5. Love the large screen for media consumption but absolutely HATE taking pictures with these cameras. I came from an s23 Ultra before the Fold 5 and I wish I had those cameras back. In was considering upgrading to the pixel 9 pro xl BUT the price is MUCH higher than I expected, the trade in value is much lower than expected for my fold 5, and they start with a base memory of 128gb....in 2024? No, Google. I don't think so. So now I'm going to be waiting for the S25 Ultra come next year. Hopefully I'm not disappointed..c'mon Samsung, impress me. You're products are becoming stale.
I understand reviewers see a lot phones so to them advancements are minimal...as an Fold user since 2019 having the fold 3, 4, and 5...The Z fold 6 is way better than all of them including the 5....The front screen getting bigger and the weight alone is worth it...The cameras maybe the same but they don't perform the same Z fold 6 is 10 times better...The phone is literally better in every way...of course in Marketing you don't give the consumer everything they want because it makes no sense when it gives you something to add next year so it's understandable why Samsung doesn't upgrade everything at once but this Z fold 6 is an amazing phone.
Nope, you are just in denial that you spent another 2.5k€ for the same thing. I have both Fold 5 and Fold 6. Those are exactly the same devices. Yup, it has sharper edges, so the design is slightly different, but all in all, for the ordinary daily usage, it's the same. I literally can not spot a single difference other than Wuthering Waves runs at stable 60fps instead of having drops from time to time. If you have Fold 5, just wait for Fold 7 or Fold 8. I bought the new one only because I got a nice deal from my mobile provider, and I paid just 2/3 of MSRP. It's the same camera, same browsing speed, same screen size as you can't really tell that 0.1" difference, same visible brightness, same spen performance, same internet performance and cloud gaming experience, etc. Jumping from F5 to F6 is literally equal to burning over 2000€ (price for 1TB version in EU).
@Drejkol i had the fold 5 and I upgraded to the fold 6 because, it's a newer phone,. Hasn't been used for over a year like my fold 5 and got an awesome trade in deal with numerous discounts, ended up paying around 400 with my fold 4 trade in, plus numerous discounts. So even though it's not a huge difference. It's still and upgrade from the 5.
I've had every fold, and I thought that I was satisfied. Until I seen the hewuai triple fold......OMG Sorry Samsung, I am going with the biggest fold on the market.
cant understand why someone would buy something that all looks the same as every past folding phone with the same low quality specs thats just my opinion
Ive had all 3, the 6 is vastly superior to the 4 and still a bit better then the 5. The weight savings and wider outer screen alone make the 6 worth getting. Now lets see how it does vs the pixel fold 2 i just ordered 😮
@@D-Almighty that thing i crazy, i love the idea just too bad Huawei doesnt run android and has no google services. But xiaomi is also making one so excited for that!
I noticed the front facing Camera on the Fold 4 was Better than the Fold 5 for me 😂 Also i dont really care to much of Weight, they gonna keep making these phones lighter until they break even more easily 😂😮😢
@joesipr Samsung has not done enough. Need different screen aspect ratio inside out like competitors, 6000 mah battery, more thinner, camera on par with Galaxy Ultra range, inbuilt Spen slot
I had the Fold 3 and loved it at first, but the longer i had it, the more i hated how narrow the outer screen was. I traded for the S23U. Now, im debating on whether i should get the S25U when it comes out, or wait and hope they widen the screen more for the F7.

Watching on my Z Fold 4, while waiting for my Z Fold 6 delivery
Above comment ^ 👌 after seeing Jerry rig. I say stick to fold 5 looks and feels like a phone. And not much reason to upgrade. Thank you.
Planning to upgrade from Z Fold 4 to 6. Thanks for the video!
Appreciate the review as a z fold 4 holder. Subscribed.
A Galaxy Unfolded
A marvel of tech, a sight to behold,
A canvas of glass, a story untold.
Six folds of wonder, a future so bright,
A phone that unfolds, a stunning light.
With power and grace, it stands apart,
A masterpiece of engineering and art.
A pocket-sized galaxy, in your hand,
A world of possibilities, at your command.
From work to play, it's always there,
A faithful companion, beyond compare.
A device that evolves, with every new day,
A testament to progress, in every way.
So let's raise a glass, to this marvel of tech,
The Galaxy Z Fold 6, a future we can reach.
It's really nice! Maybe you could have used the word "respect" instead of "reach" at the very end, which would make rhyme work.
@@fchaabo I used google translator to translate from Polish to English. Ok thanks.
Thank you 😊
If you never had a Fold, you should get either the 5 or the 6, personally I say the 6.
I wish Samsung could bring back the side key gestures.
Returned the 6 and kept my 3, but now i ordered the flip 6 and hopefully its something worth keeping
lol liar
@joesipr swear on anything. Its a great phone, a bit lighter and feels slim maybe cause of the case but the upgrade is not worth it. Hoping the flip is nice. If you're in 3 I would wait another year or 2. Only thing that would make the upgrade worth it would be a camera upgrade honestly
@@fifabeatle3139 the flip is the worst trade u can make fold 6 all day
Im deciding should i buy the z fold 5? I have the 3 and 4 but not sure
Most honest straight to the point review. Keep it up man!
Would you say going from s22 ultra to the fold 6 would be a good upgrade ?
Nope upgrade to the s24ultra the the 25 when its out
Bro. What is the Watch model your wearing..
Thank you for this comparison, and it's just what I was looking for, so I know my first z fold option will be a no hassle.
Not many bold enough to rock that chain. Love it tho.
Ayo my dude! Should I get the fold 6 or the OnePlus open? Never had a folding phone before and currently I have an iPhone pro Max but I want a folding phone. Please help me choose between the two.
Samsung is really solid. You won't regret buying a fold from them
im with an note 10plus...thinking in buying the fold 6, S24 Ultra...or wait for S25 Ultra... what your thoughts?
Wait for S25 Ultra or go for S23 Ultra
@@artjogo helped a lot :))) I talked to a Samsung employer in store and he has same opinion as you, that I would be always opening the phone, coming from a 10 plus. I use a lot photography:)
Ive started with the fold one! All the way through the 6. I do sell my phones after a couple months. The s24U does everything i need! I do wish they added 45W charging
Why do you sell them after a couple months?
Just ordered the Fold 6 for trade in of a Fold 4. Got $1100 off so im paying $570 which isnt bad. i dont want to pay a high price for the Fold when the S Pen comes out so Im not trying to be far behind in value
I owned z fold 2 on release skipped the 3 got the flip 4 then missed the fold for media and big screen so went out and got the fold 4 then had that for 2 years skipped the fold 5 and now got fold 6 very happy indeed
Great review my man!
Me who's watching using my fold 4, my daily uses.. 😊
Does the folding screen on the fold 6 come with a built it screen protector like the 4 & 5? Thank you! Great video! I learned alot!
The cover display doesn't come with a screen protector out of the box. But the larger display does come with a protector. The crease has slightly improved because inside the protector, it has some gel. You can't really feel the gel tho.
Thank you so much!
Is it worth buying a z fold 3 in 2024? I am using an s21 Ultra, but am missing the giant screens of my Microsoft Surface Duo.
No bro atleast fold 5 or trade to S23 Ultra
Great comparison. I won't be buying it. Same phone running for 3 yrs.😅
I have the Galaxy 22 Ultra is it worth it to upgrade?
Yes...not even a question
@fabricewr1985 a fold and slab phone are completely different things. You're going to have a new experience, so it's worth it.
thanks for your review🙏🏻, its really easy for me to understand your explanation for me who had a bit hard time understanding english (im indonesian), and the way you explaining each phones are really detailed yet in a simple way, like its really helpful for me.
Thanks a lot bro, i hope tour channel gets bigger and bigger.
One of the most helpful video I've seen, great work.
@@VHGbham what country? How much would it cost you to trade in for the 6
@@BSingh-on4qr USA, and if I traded in a week ago, I'd have gotten a free 512gb upgrade and paid $500 total ($90 down and the remainder every month on T-Mobile, and it was like payments $24 or so with Samsung financing on an unlocked ZF6).
I have that blue and Matt black Z fold 5 it’s incredible
I'm still in love with my Z Fold 5 its still a bada** to me 💯
Fold 5 users shouldn't even upgrade. I think Fold4 users should just because of the better hinge alone.
You are such an energising person. Great reviews
Does anyone know how to adjust the display quality? I can't seen to find it anywhere.
I wonder is it okay to get fold 4 in 2024-2025 ?
the 6 did a little better job of getting your skin tone, but yeah it's not perfect.

cant understand why someone would buy something that all looks the same as every past folding phone with the same low quality specs thats just my opinion
Ive had all 3, the 6 is vastly superior to the 4 and still a bit better then the 5. The weight savings and wider outer screen alone make the 6 worth getting.
Now lets see how it does vs the pixel fold 2 i just ordered 😮

I had the Fold 3 and loved it at first, but the longer i had it, the more i hated how narrow the outer screen was. I traded for the S23U. Now, im debating on whether i should get the S25U when it comes out, or wait and hope they widen the screen more for the F7.
Yup. They need to widen that screen
The point is to keep the outer screen thin so the phone isn’t too clunky and wide. The point is to open the phone for a wider screen.
