Not just dialogues. The fight on top of truck. The bike scenes. The falling down from cliff. Even Jims theme has bike revving sounds in it. Jim was an evolved version of his character from Dhoom on steroids.
Deepika's character was really underwritten but I'm glad she was involved in the action set pieces. I hope her character arc improves in the upcoming installments of the spy universe. What I'm really excited about is her collaboration with Zoya, a fellow ISI Agent, who is also very principled and on the right side. It will be epic to see Deepika and Katrina doing some kick-ass action together.
The frame shared between both of them would be a sight to behold, especially if holding ammunition going ape shit rambo style! They really are building a team!

I talked to many teenagers who never went to the theatres before Pathan..Hence didn't know the magical experience we went through in the 90s 2000s...after watching Pathan and witnessing the euphoria and joy of clapping , cheering and hooting in the hall, now they know why our generation is so obsessed with the theatre experience.
This film has shown what John is actually capable of doing. His film journey is underrated with the kind of choice he has made- Taxi No. 9211, No Smoking, Garam Masala, New York, Rocky Handsome and now Pathaan! He needs a serious script and a Director who can extract the most and the best out of him as an actor. No doubt his looks and physique add more fire power but I'm sure John is more than just 'Shouting' He owned Jims character with his demeanor and smirk and rage in his eyes! I'm glad YRF stressed on Jims origin story which would enable them to either produce an OTT release or a solo release or as said along with Hrithik! Pathaan has opened a ton of avenues for John. I'm happy he got and is getting his due credit ❤️
Oh Jim can easily have his spin off and its beautiful to see how they fleshed his character out. A little insider scoop, I remember post interviewing John for Attack and my man said, I can't wait for you to see Pathaan, this character is exciting! 🔥

some unnoticed points about the movie - 1) Jim and Kabir were friends. The friend kabir said about in War was Jim . 2) Kabir vs Pathaan possible in upcoming movies. Kabir is badass guy ,he doesn't allow any physical disability in his team , where Pathaan is opposite,he wants to make team like JOCR . 3) As kabir and Jim were friends , Kabir may gone rogue again against Colonel Luthra who denied to save Jim's family . It is my imagination ,may be wrong .🙂
As you rightly pointed out....a hero is incomplete without his nemesis. And John really nailed the part of this powerful menacing villain. Deepika too was a strong female protagonist. And special mention to Dimple Kapadia - her scenes with SRK were a treat to watch. And lastly......Tiger / Kabir / Pathan....can't wait.

This movie shows PAK and ISI as victims of Terrorism and not culprits, and shows Indians as Terrorists,which is a Pak narrative. Idk if this is a popular opinion or not but as the film progressed, i rooted more for jim. The idea of nationalism, power and control from Jim's pov make more sense if you look at the larger picture. The nation he vowed to protect failed him and scarred him for life. Obviously the homicidal tendencies towards innocent civilians is bad but if this rage was to be diverted towards the corrupted power holders, Jim's character would have been the perfect anti-hero. But him being a monster is justified because what he had to witness was one of the most horrific things a person can go through. John is successful in playing this character because he absolutely made me doubt everything srk did. Ashutosh rana's character is also someone who's backstory i would like to see because what is up with you man?? He's ready risk the lives of people without putting any sort of trust in his agents and his inability to unclench really made me wonder what kind of things he must have seen and somehow still chose to stick around? So yes, these were some things that boggled my mind omw back from the movie theatre.
Colonel Luthra is sus as hell! You know when I look at Jim's character, I think about Ozymandias from Watchmen. A cutthroat clear antagonist who could not care less about the modern world and his ways. If the same energy as you rightly said is channelised to breaking down corrupt forces, it really does lead to the audience rooting for the character
Bollywood needed a comeback desperately and who would've been more fitting than SRK, the Badshah himself? So happy about the success of the film. I had an absolute blast with it. It's been such a long time since we've had a festival-like movie that would be celebrated by the masses from Bollywood. It's almost emotional for me.
He is a standout no doubt! What's even more trippy is that SRK in the promotional interview said he wishes their favourite character from the film is Jim. He was right
No way srk was ok he was absolute badass,his body language and swagger in action was top notch. It's just that the villains always look more interesting

I watched the fdfs,I am not the biggest srk fan or anything,but I wanted to see his comeback,and what a comeback, I also liked the dynamics of the nationality and patriotism the film discussed,the way of nations being presented as something that leaders use to tie down people and John breaking out was something great in a villain and also.pathaan being of multiple countries as their son is something great, this success is a big F you to all the haters and sanghis
Just some observations I found in the movie Pathaan: 1. John to SRK. in Dubai: "Tum RAW agent nahi hote, toh hum dost hote!" [Callback to Dhoom 1 when John told the same dialog to Abhishek Bachchan] 2. Bhaag Pathaan Bhaag: Salman telling this to SRK [Callback to Karan Arjun same dialog: "Bhaag Arjun Bhaag" and standing back to back] 3. Removing the Bomb Pin: [Callback to Main hoon Naa] 4. The climax when SRK takes the remote from John. [Kinda reminded me of Tony Stark: Ironman and Thanos in Endgame when Ironman takes the stones in the Climax] 5. Dubai scene where John shoots at the SUV standing in the middle of the road. [Reminded me of Captain America & the winter soldier, when Bucky standas in the middle of the road and shoots a bomb at Nick fury's car] 6. John pulling both the choppers. [2 references, One from Captain America the Winter soldier (cap pulling the chopper hanging on to the building) two from FF:Hobbs & Shaw (Rock pulling the chopper via wire to attach to his truck)] 7. WAR BGM durin the train fight sequence 🤩 8. SRK and Salman fight scene [srk jumping from 1 train coach to another when there is a blast, kinda like james bond in Skyfall, where Daniel Craig jumps from 1 coach to another on the blast]
*To be honest pathaan was an ideal comeback movie for SRK. Yes there were few issues in the first half with the writing but the second half was totally good and it balanced it by taking the plot forward in a better way. The action sequences were beautifully choreographed, the hand to hand combat sequences were looking so well and SRK did them so well in a convincing way, the train action sequence was absolutely enthralling, the cameo was perfectly placed and the pure emotion of brotherhood was visible in those scene, the cinematography was better. SRK nailed every part of it and John was completely outstanding in this role. I really liked how they didn't waste deepika and utilized her.. she was looking like a baddie in the machine gun scene. YRF knows to give importance to females leads. Absolutely liked the movie. Hoping they make this universe in a more classy way from now on!*
It delivered on the mass hysteria part. Which is rare for a Hindi film this days. The stars felt like stars the songs felt good and the action and dialogue Bazee had their impacts but above all was the cameo done right which brought a fresh concept in Hindi cinema now. Good to have something fresh especially for Hindi movies which starve for them.
Hope the future instalments take a darker route. So excited to see how Emraan Hashmi is menacing for the part! I hope he is unhinged and gives a lot of trouble to Tiger

This is literally what I felt while watching the movie. In previous video it was the fanboy talking now a reviewer. It was good they made the antagonist so big so that the silliness and luck of the hero chasing him down is excused. It could have been nice if the movie began with the missile getting launched to the village and getting blasted and cut to a back shot where the man is held head down and his pregnant wife getting shot, and the one in which the man is tortured and killed infrint of the family, such shots could have been a cold start and it's often recalls in the movie would have been more impactful. Anyway the scenes right after the interval and after the last song were the treat for the fans who rooted strongly for the comeback of HINDI cinema. And the comedy between the legends duo was also amazing and the saving factor. What it lacked the most was a strong bgm that could stay in the heads of the viewers like that in tiger and war.
Really liking how the Spy Universe is shaping up. The one thing I'm curious about is who will be the overarching villain of the franchise. Every cinematic universe needs their Thanos. The Lokesh verse has Rolex bhai and even the Cop Universe has Jackie Shroff's character being the main antagonist of the whole story. The ideal scenario for me would be to have Aamir Khan be revealed as the one pulling the strings and have the movies build up to Kabir, Tiger, Pathaan and any other super spy which will join them (because I believe more actors would want to be part of the Spy Universe given Pathaan's massive opening) going up against Aamir's character, that would be peak Bollywood in the best way possible imo

After watching Brahmastra and Pathaan, one thing is for sure! The audience does not expect a perfect script nor do they exoect their main leads to be undisputed. The audience just wants a good script, good visual effects and a film that entertains them. The formula is simple I suppose.
I don't know but i found both of the movies far behind despite of some big budgets. Others can like the movie and I am not arguing but I personally feel both the movies were 💩
We all know, Pathaan and Tiger are friends. While Kabir doesn't like Pathaan initially... My theory: Kabir is out of contact for a very long time(after War), and doesn't know much about this Raktbeej mission. But when he does get back. He gets to know that his partner(Jim) who he thought was dead, was alive & killed by Pathaan. Kabir doesn't wanna believe that Jim had become the monster that he was & kinda blames Col. Luthra & Pathaan for it. This could make a good Captain America vs Iron Man civil war kinda plot!
With it you can add that Then Kabir goes to the root of the case only to find that Col. Luthra was the one who handed out Jim's family to the terrorists to fulfil some sort of Personal agenda . Now he tries to go deep into it and fights Pathan in the transition period. I don't think this would happen but Conspiracy theories rakhne main kya jaata hai 😂😂😂
I really liked the last dialogue that Srk had with John... "A soldier never asks what the country did for him, but what can he do for the country" This was something that was going in my mind the whole time and I'm glad they pointed it out at the end. Full main hoon na vibes❤ Absolutely loved it!
Oh wow I actually had the opposite reaction. The soldier will anything for the country, yet the country would not even help the soldier, that was just unfair and I did not agree with it at all
I remember jammy making a video on srk last year concerning his failures and it was very relevant. Today we are celebrating his return and this comeback has lead to unprecedented box office collections - we did it guys , we finally did it. And I am sure even jammy is excited for Atlee’s next collaboration with SRK!

People are actually praising Pathan not as a film but as a festival. A festival of SRK's comeback and I still highly doubt if Sidhhart Anand can deliver much in future.
I wish John had played one of the spies in this universe but nonetheless, he killed it as an antagonist as well. I am sure they must be thinking of Vidyut as another villain.
It's not just about massive BO collections, but the way people are celebrating the movie and showering all their love is SRK is something quite emotional and heartfelt 🥺❤️

Pathaan was definitely one of the movies we all were looking forward to watch in theatres ,I absolutely enjoyed it ,my most favorite was seeing Deepika executive fight sequence in so many years this hasn't been seen on the big screen ,John deserves so much more after this film he nailed Jim.. Srk is Srk but the supporting cast just nailed it 👌
Such a breath of fresh air where in other mass commercial films, heroines are reduced to romantic interests or breaks in the storyline, Deepika has so much stake with the mission at hand
@@TriedRefusedProductions I disagree with this. Compared to Katrina in Tiger series, Deepika's role and action sequences fall flat. Not just that, the romance between Deepika and Shahrukh is forcefully scripted in. I didnt feel it was as organic or electric as Salman and Katrina had.

Jammy I just hope that Jim is still alive and we get to see his character more! And yes, i agree with you, Jim was shown extremely stupid in the end when he explained everything to Pathaan, but if you think about it, why would he do that? My theory is that Jim wanted Pathaan to stop it from happening. He never wanted to blow that plane and he intends to do something else. He just needs time for that and hence in order to disappear he showed to the world that he died.
same, I think the fact that he used jetpack and going by jim's character traits, I think he must have had a parachute attached to his back, just a wild theory.
Pathaan is no longer a movie. It is a movement. There is a reason people were waiting for this man to return. Look at the reactions of Bollywood celebrities and movie lovers in general. They are celebrating its success with no self interest of their own. Why? The answer is simple. Some people get hope from success after prolonged failure. The movie did the same for me. It is love's victory against hate. And I'll root for this movie forever.
The movie is absolute entertainer... Every spy thriller has almost the same base... Hand to hand combat r exceptionally well excecuted... Salman's cameo is the greatest cameo in the history of the Indian cinema...got goosebumps literally... As if Karan N Arjun are against the people who targeted them... 👍👍

In the first fight between Jim and Pathaan, if you've noticed, when they locked their arms, you could see Jim's nerves popping up unnaturally to which Pathaan reacts surprised. I mean, he shouldn't be surprised about Jim being physically superior but something about that made me feel that Jim was superhumanly enhanced. Also, when he pulled the rope between the helicopters to attach it to the vehicle they were fighting on. Even at the end when Jim lifts General Qader with one hand showed that the guy might have something going on with his body.
The only thing I want from this universe is when Kabir pathan tiger finally come together in a full fledged movie, the 3 characters should be different from each other in every possible way. Because all 3 of them are heroes .i hope everybody has their own way of doing things

Yes, I did miss Kabir's presence in the movie. It would have been the perfect opportunity for a blink-and-miss cameo like a passenger with one dialogue or a photo somewhere. I also like the idea of War 2 showing Jim and Kabir on a mission. I'm looking forward to Tiger 3 now. I liked Dimple's role, too, and I wish it wasn't so finite. But there are always prequels and flashbacks. It had that right balance of silliness and seriousness that you described. There was one solitary guy in my theatre who cheered for Dimple, clapping and screaming, "Go, Dimple!" Maybe he was being silly but It got me thinking that once upon a time, Dimple must have got the same loud cheers the other stars were getting. Pathaan is an example of how centering the audience makes films a hit. It wasn't a perfect film. It had action set pieces that even the fans who enjoyed the movie roll their eyes at. It tries too hard to pack in-jokes. But all that doesn't matter - because it lands it punches for all the right spots. At the right moments, it tugs at our 90s nostalgia, of cheering for SRK in his heyday, and makes us reminisce about the duo of Karan Arjun. Even the action isn't intended to present the best action sequences we have ever seen - everything is designed to cater to the fan bases - and where some films falter in pandering to fanbases - Pathaan got the formula right. When we walked out of the theatre someone said "they're assembling desi Avengers." After Tiger 3 and War 2, I'd be down for Pathaan, Kabir, and Tiger coming together to save India from a BIG THREAT.

A huge plus to Deepika's character despite an underwhelming story was that she had a role with good length and importance. Usually the mass movies underplay the female lead as a show doll and doesn't allow them to impact. I feel there are two reasons for this, Shah Rukh loves Deepika as an actor and would not mind whatever it takes to enhancer her role and on the other hand Deepika has earned all rights to be as big as any male lead. Despite everything else I loved that for Pathaan and then ofc the way John was portrayed reminded me of the good old days of Kabir in Dhoom. He is tailor made for that sort of role and no wonder SRK mentioned in an interview that John will be the most liked thing from Pathaan.

I’m an SRK fan but simultaneously John’s career trajectory has equally interested me, his choices, performances may not have been always on point but he never left the ground, Pathaan completely justified him as an actor who can equally be a badass but at the same time can leave you astoundingly gorgeous by his looks,he was totally on point with all the action scenes and the way he delivered the dialogues, I think after 20 years through Pathaan he’s somewhat been able to successfully position himself as a strong actor who can convincingly pull off strong charecter driven roles. It is evident that he needs good scripts and directors who can pull the best out of him, everyone’s talking about SRK’s comeback but it also cemented John’s position as well which was much needed. Now no random star kid can actually make a lewd comment about how expressionless he’s, he freakishly menacing. I hope YRF explores possibilities of War 2 with Hrithik bringing Jim and Kabir together and giving a clarity of what went wrong in their previous mission or a Pathaan 2 where Jim comes out more menacing because it’s not sure whether he’s dead or not,and most importantly if stars also keep aside their “ego” differences then nothing like it❤. P.S : A special mention to the boycott gang, who have been immensely successful in making the film what it is today, SRK’s political affinity, religious identity, DP’s bikini everything went on a huge toss, Bas tel lagake Dabur ka naam mita do boycott gang ka🙏🏻
Yes. This is better than bramhastra if entertainment is the thing you want to deliver. Because that was what ranbir said continiously in his promotions. And it was nonsensical to many extents. But Pathaan was a crisp firm mass movie which was very clear about what it wants to give to the audience and it did. No point in discussing why it wasn't a my name is khan or veer zaara.

During Pathaan's intro scene, Raafe goes to deal with that guy whom we saw in the trailer. Where Pathaan smashed everyone we can see him escaping so he might play something major like he might have some links with the main villain and they might show that he informs him that someone is coming in their way 🤷🏻♂️ I just felt it could have been a perfect post credit where he goes to meet the villain and informs him about it ( just like Avengers 1 post credit) and could've started setting up their Thanos . Also Jim will return, he had a line 'Mein rakhtbeej hoon'. And also I feel that his survival in Somalia might play something major in future.
Movie- Pathan Talking about the scene were family of Indian soldier was brutally killed in front of his eyes just because it was shown in movie that we don't negotiate with terrorists we care for our army and soldiers... India has never initiated a war against any country but when they do something bad against our army and soldiers, we take revenge and make them realize that life of our each and every soldier and his/her family is our top priorit, Be it surgical strike or Air strike or even before these incidents....the war that we fought against pakistan in 1965 and 1999 were only because they did extremely wrong and killed our soldiers so we took revenge for our SHAHID soldiers and also in case of Indo-China war in 1962.....So the point is...India will never make such circumstances where a soldier has to see his family dying in front of him, EVEN IF IT REQUIRES NEGOTIATING WITH TERRORISTS

Anyone who says “Boycott Bollywood” doesn’t realise that this industry generate lots of money for the government and provide employment to thousand and thousands of worker plus entertains. Yes some things in Bollywood need to improve eg “me too movement” etc. but boycotting Bollywood would be really irresponsible and hurts lot more. So come guys improve working conditions but NOT BOYCOTT Bollywood.
More than vfx, the one thing that bothered me the most were the loopholes in the story. As you mentioned the remote handling by Jim and Jim saying only Pathaan can break into the vault. Anyone could've done it. I mean come on, it can't be the safest vault. Happy new Year had a safer vault

What a fully detailed review, Jammy. I too believe that the moment Deepika enters the movie it starts missing the punch. But they make it up after the interval. All over a massy entertainer and that's what SRK and bollywood needed at this time.
Emraan Hashmi is the main antagonist in tiger 3 and an agent definitely linked with Katrina... Kabir and Jim were same batch while Pathaan and Tiger are same batch...now we need an antagonist who is an ex-agent and knows both Pathaan and Tiger making him the main antagonist of this spy universe... possibly Jim will be back as enhanced version as well...
I first saw srk in ddlj when I was young and literally loved his acting then I saw him in don reboot and it continued it lasted till ra one he was my favorite but after that it vanished but today when I went it theatre it was like I was again a young kid watching my fav superstar do amazing acting and action it transported me to my childhood
SRK deserves all the success he's getting right now. The man is a gem, he's a heart throb. Haters can go outside and touch grass. Love this man. He's not my favorite actor but he's amongst the most impactful actors of India.
Salman Khan in movies directed by directors who can hold their own against him just hits different. Please No PrabhuD or RemoD or even FarhadS. Hoping Tiger3 delivers 🤞🏻
For all his strategic and tactical mind, Jim's ego is his weakness. He needs his opponent to feel that they had a chance; for him, this makes his victory even more relishing. Hence, he tells Pathaan the actual plan, and that the means to stop it is right in front of him- giving the protagonist a glimmer of hope, and Jim intends to crush all of that.
I just want to watch more of John as he would now have immense of fire in him as losing with pathan also his back story is also hard-hitting and he has a capability to be the thanos of spy universe 🔥❤️
the only younger stars are Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor & Shahid Kapoor. I hope Vijay Devarakonda makes it in Bollywood, cause he is not a top star in Tollywood anyway.
It's not just Bollywood, even Hollywood too. Do you even know the age of tom cruise, brad pitt, RDJ, Caprio. Not just them even Chris Evans will be of 50 in few years. It's not easy for a 25 year folk to create a fandom like SRK or Tom cruise have in their industry
I am willing to file a petition to bring back John on future spy movies. In WAR 2 if Kabir could go rogue against Luthra knowing it was his fault why JIM died and also could trigger a fight with Pathaan because of ideological differences initially and then by the end they would unite for the country. (Just like RRR) However, WAR's theme if revolves around war between two heroes then it would be maverick to see SRK vs Hrithik in the movie.
Yes jim should be there , if Pathan kabir clash is on cards tiger will come for Pathan if that happens, kabir alone will be lost seriously, so jim should be there to help kabir against pathan and Tiger.
And to add one more thing, like Deepika who is a pak spy just like Katrin, so what comes next if this 2 girls joins, it will be bloody intresting . Pathan and tiger, Kabir and Jim, zoya and Deepika,, group of 2's will be really good for the next venture.
The spy universe has to be the most exciting universe YrF has created. So many different types of stories can be branched from this point on. They can create a web series on Jim and Kabir’s backstory , have Kabir in Tiger 3 as a cameo ( as SRK is basically confirmed in it) and have three of them in the same movie would be epic. Although, I hope YRF doesn’t keep on having their villains killed in the movie cause if some escaped, in future projects those characters can team up to take on Kabir, Tiger and Pathaan at once rather than one by one. Ik that Saurabh(Khalid) from War (Tiger shrof) died in War and Jim may not have survived the fall. But if Emraan is the villain in Tiger 3, there could be a story where he recruits them for revenge so Emraans character doesn’t take on them alone but with Jim and Khalid. Overall Pathaan was pretty good and excited for what more the spy universe offers. I would appreciate if you guys gives me feedback on this thought

I think Jim's character was rage and emotional during the climax speaking about the death of his wife and unborn child and no one took responsibility of what happened, it was more of egoistic for Jim to give pathaan the actual details of what he planned and not dumb, telling nobody is responsible for what is going to happen now as if he is trying to prove a point that what happened with him in the past was wrong and no one did anything to prevent it , and what he is doing now is wrong and he won't let anyone stop him , and as for the movie it was needed...

Not just dialogues. The fight on top of truck. The bike scenes. The falling down from cliff. Even Jims theme has bike revving sounds in it. Jim was an evolved version of his character from Dhoom on steroids.
Deepika's character was really underwritten but I'm glad she was involved in the action set pieces. I hope her character arc improves in the upcoming installments of the spy universe. What I'm really excited about is her collaboration with Zoya, a fellow ISI Agent, who is also very principled and on the right side.
It will be epic to see Deepika and Katrina doing some kick-ass action together.

I talked to many teenagers who never went to the theatres before Pathan..Hence didn't know the magical experience we went through in the 90s 2000s...after watching Pathan and witnessing the euphoria and joy of clapping , cheering and hooting in the hall, now they know why our generation is so obsessed with the theatre experience.
This film has shown what John is actually capable of doing. His film journey is underrated with the kind of choice he has made- Taxi No. 9211, No Smoking, Garam Masala, New York, Rocky Handsome and now Pathaan!
He needs a serious script and a Director who can extract the most and the best out of him as an actor. No doubt his looks and physique add more fire power but I'm sure John is more than just 'Shouting'
He owned Jims character with his demeanor and smirk and rage in his eyes!
I'm glad YRF stressed on Jims origin story which would enable them to either produce an OTT release or a solo release or as said along with Hrithik!

some unnoticed points about the movie -
1) Jim and Kabir were friends. The friend kabir said about in War was Jim .
2) Kabir vs Pathaan possible in upcoming movies. Kabir is badass guy ,he doesn't allow any physical disability in his team , where Pathaan is opposite,he wants to make team like JOCR .
3) As kabir and Jim were friends , Kabir may gone rogue again against Colonel Luthra who denied to save Jim's family .

And special mention to Dimple Kapadia - her scenes with SRK were a treat to watch. And lastly......Tiger / Kabir / Pathan....can't wait.

Idk if this is a popular opinion or not but as the film progressed, i rooted more for jim. The idea of nationalism, power and control from Jim's pov make more sense if you look at the larger picture. The nation he vowed to protect failed him and scarred him for life. Obviously the homicidal tendencies towards innocent civilians is bad but if this rage was to be diverted towards the corrupted power holders, Jim's character would have been the perfect anti-hero. But him being a monster is justified because what he had to witness was one of the most horrific things a person can go through. John is successful in playing this character because he absolutely made me doubt everything srk did. Ashutosh rana's character is also someone who's backstory i would like to see because what is up with you man?? He's ready risk the lives of people without putting any sort of trust in his agents and his inability to unclench really made me wonder what kind of things he must have seen and somehow still chose to stick around? So yes, these were some things that boggled my mind omw back from the movie theatre.

Colonel Luthra is sus as hell! You know when I look at Jim's character, I think about Ozymandias from Watchmen. A cutthroat clear antagonist who could not care less about the modern world and his ways. If the same energy as you rightly said is channelised to breaking down corrupt forces, it really does lead to the audience rooting for the character
Bollywood needed a comeback desperately and who would've been more fitting than SRK, the Badshah himself? So happy about the success of the film. I had an absolute blast with it. It's been such a long time since we've had a festival-like movie that would be celebrated by the masses from Bollywood. It's almost emotional for me.

I watched the fdfs,I am not the biggest srk fan or anything,but I wanted to see his comeback,and what a comeback, I also liked the dynamics of the nationality and patriotism the film discussed,the way of nations being presented as something that leaders use to tie down people and John breaking out was something great in a villain and also.pathaan being of multiple countries as their son is something great, this success is a big F you to all the haters and sanghis
Just some observations I found in the movie Pathaan:
1. John to SRK. in Dubai: "Tum RAW agent nahi hote, toh hum dost hote!" [Callback to Dhoom 1 when John told the same dialog to Abhishek Bachchan]
2. Bhaag Pathaan Bhaag: Salman telling this to SRK [Callback to Karan Arjun same dialog: "Bhaag Arjun Bhaag" and standing back to back]
3. Removing the Bomb Pin: [Callback to Main hoon Naa]
4. The climax when SRK takes the remote from John. [Kinda reminded me of Tony Stark: Ironman and Thanos in Endgame when Ironman takes the stones in the Climax]
5. Dubai scene where John shoots at the SUV standing in the middle of the road. [Reminded me of Captain America & the winter soldier, when Bucky standas in the middle of the road and shoots a bomb at Nick fury's car]
6. John pulling both the choppers. [2 references, One from Captain America the Winter soldier (cap pulling the chopper hanging on to the building) two from FF:Hobbs & Shaw (Rock pulling the chopper via wire to attach to his truck)]
7. WAR BGM durin the train fight sequence 🤩
8. SRK and Salman fight scene [srk jumping from 1 train coach to another when there is a blast, kinda like james bond in Skyfall, where Daniel Craig jumps from 1 coach to another on the blast]
*To be honest pathaan was an ideal comeback movie for SRK. Yes there were few issues in the first half with the writing but the second half was totally good and it balanced it by taking the plot forward in a better way. The action sequences were beautifully choreographed, the hand to hand combat sequences were looking so well and SRK did them so well in a convincing way, the train action sequence was absolutely enthralling, the cameo was perfectly placed and the pure emotion of brotherhood was visible in those scene, the cinematography was better. SRK nailed every part of it and John was completely outstanding in this role. I really liked how they didn't waste deepika and utilized her.. she was looking like a baddie in the machine gun scene. YRF knows to give importance to females leads. Absolutely liked the movie. Hoping they make this universe in a more classy way from now on!*
It delivered on the mass hysteria part. Which is rare for a Hindi film this days. The stars felt like stars the songs felt good and the action and dialogue Bazee had their impacts but above all was the cameo done right which brought a fresh concept in Hindi cinema now. Good to have something fresh especially for Hindi movies which starve for them.
Hope the future instalments take a darker route. So excited to see how Emraan Hashmi is menacing for the part! I hope he is unhinged and gives a lot of trouble to Tiger

This is literally what I felt while watching the movie. In previous video it was the fanboy talking now a reviewer. It was good they made the antagonist so big so that the silliness and luck of the hero chasing him down is excused. It could have been nice if the movie began with the missile getting launched to the village and getting blasted and cut to a back shot where the man is held head down and his pregnant wife getting shot, and the one in which the man is tortured and killed infrint of the family, such shots could have been a cold start and it's often recalls in the movie would have been more impactful.
Anyway the scenes right after the interval and after the last song were the treat for the fans who rooted strongly for the comeback of HINDI cinema. And the comedy between the legends duo was also amazing and the saving factor.
What it lacked the most was a strong bgm that could stay in the heads of the viewers like that in tiger and war.

Really liking how the Spy Universe is shaping up. The one thing I'm curious about is who will be the overarching villain of the franchise. Every cinematic universe needs their Thanos. The Lokesh verse has Rolex bhai and even the Cop Universe has Jackie Shroff's character being the main antagonist of the whole story. The ideal scenario for me would be to have Aamir Khan be revealed as the one pulling the strings and have the movies build up to Kabir, Tiger, Pathaan and any other super spy which will join them (because I believe more actors would want to be part of the Spy Universe given Pathaan's massive opening) going up against Aamir's character, that would be peak Bollywood in the best way possible imo
If the ultimate villain is Aamir and he faces off with SRK, Salman and Hrithik: my god records will be shattered like no one's business

After watching Brahmastra and Pathaan, one thing is for sure! The audience does not expect a perfect script nor do they exoect their main leads to be undisputed.
The audience just wants a good script, good visual effects and a film that entertains them.
The formula is simple I suppose.
Sounds simple lol but it's actually the hardest thing to pull of. Continuously entertaining so many heads for 2 hours has a science of its own

My theory: Kabir is out of contact for a very long time(after War), and doesn't know much about this Raktbeej mission. But when he does get back. He gets to know that his partner(Jim) who he thought was dead, was alive & killed by Pathaan. Kabir doesn't wanna believe that Jim had become the monster that he was & kinda blames Col. Luthra & Pathaan for it.

Pathaan was definitely one of the movies we all were looking forward to watch in theatres ,I absolutely enjoyed it ,my most favorite was seeing Deepika executive fight sequence in so many years this hasn't been seen on the big screen ,John deserves so much more after this film he nailed Jim..

@@TriedRefusedProductions I disagree with this. Compared to Katrina in Tiger series, Deepika's role and action sequences fall flat. Not just that, the romance between Deepika and Shahrukh is forcefully scripted in. I didnt feel it was as organic or electric as Salman and Katrina had.

Jammy I just hope that Jim is still alive and we get to see his character more! And yes, i agree with you, Jim was shown extremely stupid in the end when he explained everything to Pathaan, but if you think about it, why would he do that?
My theory is that Jim wanted Pathaan to stop it from happening. He never wanted to blow that plane and he intends to do something else. He just needs time for that and hence in order to disappear he showed to the world that he died.

They are celebrating its success with no self interest of their own. Why? The answer is simple. Some people get hope from success after prolonged failure. The movie did the same for me. It is love's victory against hate. And I'll root for this movie forever.

In the first fight between Jim and Pathaan, if you've noticed, when they locked their arms, you could see Jim's nerves popping up unnaturally to which Pathaan reacts surprised. I mean, he shouldn't be surprised about Jim being physically superior but something about that made me feel that Jim was superhumanly enhanced. Also, when he pulled the rope between the helicopters to attach it to the vehicle they were fighting on. Even at the end when Jim lifts General Qader with one hand showed that the guy might have something going on with his body.

Yes, I did miss Kabir's presence in the movie. It would have been the perfect opportunity for a blink-and-miss cameo like a passenger with one dialogue or a photo somewhere. I also like the idea of War 2 showing Jim and Kabir on a mission. I'm looking forward to Tiger 3 now.
I liked Dimple's role, too, and I wish it wasn't so finite. But there are always prequels and flashbacks. It had that right balance of silliness and seriousness that you described. There was one solitary guy in my theatre who cheered for Dimple, clapping and screaming, "Go, Dimple!" Maybe he was being silly but It got me thinking that once upon a time, Dimple must have got the same loud cheers the other stars were getting.
Pathaan is an example of how centering the audience makes films a hit. It wasn't a perfect film. It had action set pieces that even the fans who enjoyed the movie roll their eyes at. It tries too hard to pack in-jokes. But all that doesn't matter - because it lands it punches for all the right spots. At the right moments, it tugs at our 90s nostalgia, of cheering for SRK in his heyday, and makes us reminisce about the duo of Karan Arjun. Even the action isn't intended to present the best action sequences we have ever seen - everything is designed to cater to the fan bases - and where some films falter in pandering to fanbases - Pathaan got the formula right. When we walked out of the theatre someone said "they're assembling desi Avengers." After Tiger 3 and War 2, I'd be down for Pathaan, Kabir, and Tiger coming together to save India from a BIG THREAT.

A huge plus to Deepika's character despite an underwhelming story was that she had a role with good length and importance. Usually the mass movies underplay the female lead as a show doll and doesn't allow them to impact. I feel there are two reasons for this, Shah Rukh loves Deepika as an actor and would not mind whatever it takes to enhancer her role and on the other hand Deepika has earned all rights to be as big as any male lead. Despite everything else I loved that for Pathaan and then ofc the way John was portrayed reminded me of the good old days of Kabir in Dhoom. He is tailor made for that sort of role and no wonder SRK mentioned in an interview that John will be the most liked thing from Pathaan.

I was literally expecting Hrithik (Kabir) to be on the plane & he will save it along with Raw. I thought so because his name was discussed multiple times by Luthra but it was not the scene 😢

I’m an SRK fan but simultaneously John’s career trajectory has equally interested me, his choices, performances may not have been always on point but he never left the ground, Pathaan completely justified him as an actor who can equally be a badass but at the same time can leave you astoundingly gorgeous by his looks,he was totally on point with all the action scenes and the way he delivered the dialogues, I think after 20 years through Pathaan he’s somewhat been able to successfully position himself as a strong actor who can convincingly pull off strong charecter driven roles. It is evident that he needs good scripts and directors who can pull the best out of him, everyone’s talking about SRK’s comeback but it also cemented John’s position as well which was much needed. Now no random star kid can actually make a lewd comment about how expressionless he’s, he freakishly menacing. I hope YRF explores possibilities of War 2 with Hrithik bringing Jim and Kabir together and giving a clarity of what went wrong in their previous mission or a Pathaan 2 where Jim comes out more menacing because it’s not sure whether he’s dead or not,and most importantly if stars also keep aside their “ego” differences then nothing like it❤.
P.S : A special mention to the boycott gang, who have been immensely successful in making the film what it is today, SRK’s political affinity, religious identity, DP’s bikini everything went on a huge toss, Bas tel lagake Dabur ka naam mita do boycott gang ka🙏🏻

But Pathaan was a crisp firm mass movie which was very clear about what it wants to give to the audience and it did. No point in discussing why it wasn't a my name is khan or veer zaara.

During Pathaan's intro scene, Raafe goes to deal with that guy whom we saw in the trailer. Where Pathaan smashed everyone we can see him escaping so he might play something major like he might have some links with the main villain and they might show that he informs him that someone is coming in their way 🤷🏻♂️ I just felt it could have been a perfect post credit where he goes to meet the villain and informs him about it ( just like Avengers 1 post credit) and could've started setting up their Thanos

Talking about the scene were family of Indian soldier was brutally killed in front of his eyes just because it was shown in movie that we don't negotiate with terrorists
we care for our army and soldiers... India has never initiated a war against any country but when they do something bad against our army and soldiers, we take revenge and make them realize that life of our each and every soldier and his/her family is our top priorit, Be it surgical strike or Air strike or even before these incidents....the war that we fought against pakistan in 1965 and 1999 were only because they did extremely wrong and killed our soldiers so we took revenge for our SHAHID soldiers and also in case of Indo-China war in 1962.....So the point is...India will never make such circumstances where a soldier has to see his family dying in front of him, EVEN IF IT REQUIRES NEGOTIATING WITH TERRORISTS
Have not seen it yet (hopefully will next week) but really glad to see Bollywood getting back it greatness. Anyone who says “Boycott Bollywood” doesn’t realise that this industry generate lots of money for the government and provide employment to thousand and thousands of worker plus entertains. Yes some things in Bollywood need to improve eg “me too movement” etc. but boycotting Bollywood would be really irresponsible and hurts lot more. More than vfx, the one thing that bothered me the most were the loopholes in the story. As you mentioned the remote handling by Jim and Jim saying only Pathaan can break into the vault. Anyone could've done it. I mean come on, it can't be the safest vault. Happy new Year had a safer vault

Emraan Hashmi is the main antagonist in tiger 3 and an agent definitely linked with Katrina... Kabir and Jim were same batch while Pathaan and Tiger are same batch...now we need an antagonist who is an ex-agent and knows both Pathaan and Tiger making him the main antagonist of this spy universe... possibly Jim will be back as enhanced version as well...
I first saw srk in ddlj when I was young and literally loved his acting then I saw him in don reboot and it continued it lasted till ra one he was my favorite but after that it vanished but today when I went it theatre it was like I was again a young kid watching my fav superstar do amazing acting and action it transported me to my childhood

For all his strategic and tactical mind, Jim's ego is his weakness. He needs his opponent to feel that they had a chance; for him, this makes his victory even more relishing. Hence, he tells Pathaan the actual plan, and that the means to stop it is right in front of him- giving the protagonist a glimmer of hope, and Jim intends to crush all of that.
Hrithik having a Kabir cameo would have been the cherry on top. Jammy's plot description would have fitted so well.
I just want to watch more of John as he would now have immense of fire in him as losing with pathan also his back story is also hard-hitting and he has a capability to be the thanos of spy universe 🔥❤️

I am willing to file a petition to bring back John on future spy movies. In WAR 2 if Kabir could go rogue against Luthra knowing it was his fault why JIM died and also could trigger a fight with Pathaan because of ideological differences initially and then by the end they would unite for the country. (Just like RRR) However, WAR's theme if revolves around war between two heroes then it would be maverick to see SRK vs Hrithik in the movie.
Yes jim should be there , if Pathan kabir clash is on cards tiger will come for Pathan if that happens, kabir alone will be lost seriously, so jim should be there to help kabir against pathan and Tiger.

The spy universe has to be the most exciting universe YrF has created. So many different types of stories can be branched from this point on. They can create a web series on Jim and Kabir’s backstory , have Kabir in Tiger 3 as a cameo ( as SRK is basically confirmed in it) and have three of them in the same movie would be epic. Although, I hope YRF doesn’t keep on having their villains killed in the movie cause if some escaped, in future projects those characters can team up to take on Kabir, Tiger and Pathaan at once rather than one by one. Ik that Saurabh(Khalid) from War (Tiger shrof) died in War and Jim may not have survived the fall. But if Emraan is the villain in Tiger 3, there could be a story where he recruits them for revenge so Emraans character doesn’t take on them alone but with Jim and Khalid.
Overall Pathaan was pretty good and excited for what more the spy universe offers. I would appreciate if you guys gives me feedback on this thought

I think Jim's character was rage and emotional during the climax speaking about the death of his wife and unborn child and no one took responsibility of what happened, it was more of egoistic for Jim to give pathaan the actual details of what he planned and not dumb, telling nobody is responsible for what is going to happen now as if he is trying to prove a point that what happened with him in the past was wrong and no one did anything to prevent it , and what he is doing now is wrong and he won't let anyone stop him , and as for the movie it was needed...
