The reason pathaan doing 1000 crore was because of unity of crowd wanting an event film,although the movie was average but the audience ignored the boycott culture and gave a befitting reply ! That’s why it became a blockbuster!!
Boycott Pathan trend started then SRK fans united and made other people convince to save his movie coz they became to develop sympathy for SRK after that boycott trends. Boycott trends just creat sympathy in audience's heart for actors.

I have one logic, maybe the audience has a poor mindset, they are not mature enough, they don't care about good movies, all they care for is poor no brainer storyline with flashy action and glamour. Seriously, I sat in an almost empty hall watching the masterpiece zero with no serious audience, only few couples making out here and there, and now people are repeatedly watching Pathan, don't know what mindset our audience has.

I think its nearly impossible to break pathaans record. the fact that Pathaan did so well in box office , because everyone was waiting for srks comeback. 4 years is a long time. And all movie fans has a deep place for srk. It was so heart melting watching your favourite star from childhood back to movies after 4 years.

As an industry bollywood has immense potential but this is a lean phase which all the industries have faced sometime or the other which wasn't the case pre covid. Although some of the post pandemic releases are restricted to remakes , but we also need to acknowledge some really good content films released during this phase which include Jhund , Lost , Chandigarh kare aashiqui, An action hero, Raksha Bandhan , Ludo , Sherni , Sardar Udham , guilty and so on. These films somehow didn't work at the box office and we as audience are to be blamed. We complain that bollywood is only making remakes and masala action films like Pathaan . While these content driven films are simply neglected in some cases . By supporting such films we need to make the producers confident in investing in such ventures. I feel from now on both masala and content based films should coexist .
Not many people are aware that on 24th of March a movie named BHEED is being released .
So I'm happy that after such an average year 2022 , bollywood is still standing strong and are confident in there future films .

The main reason for Pathaan's success is SRK. He is very beloved and obviously people missed him on big screen. I think Jawaan might be a big hit too, but not in the range of Pathaan. If Krrish 4 happens, I think there might be a good chance for another 1000+ crore movie. It can only be a mass commercial entertainer who can make big money post pandemic in my opinion.

If we produce genuine quality screenplay - then why not . However my biggest expectation is from the Prashant Neel directorial and Jawan. I admire Prashant’s work because there is this uncanny yet satisfying blending of masala with gritty screenplay. And jawan well , can’t hold my excitement !

I give all credits of Pathaan to the actors. The storyline and the twists were so predictable but it's the actors who convinced us of the same predictable nature of the film and make it enjoyable. Anyone who shits on this film saying it's overreacted don't know how to enjoy life 💀

Its an Atlee film. It will be systematically and visually engineered to crack whatever Industrial bench mark there is, in true Shankar school fashion. As a movie, if the viewing experience verdict is average, like Pathaan, Top 3 BO spot sure.
If it is an all out family entertainer, one that checks all boxes, with a strong climax (All three Vijay movies lack this), Oh boy, it will stretch the limits of 'Indian' BO.

Pathaan was sadly an average venture as best (cinematically). The reason why it worked in my opinion is due to SRK’s evergreen fandom and the hype around him due to his absence for 4 years.

I am not avid Bollywood film watcher. I see a few films which get a positive feedback like andhadhun, barelly ki barfi or stri. I much more watch Malayalam and tamil due to the quality of content. But in my heart, I want the Bollywood to comeback strongly creatively and financially. Because the way in which Bollywood has increased visibility and market for Indian films, no other industry has done that. Once the world sees Bollywood, then they are likely to watch Telugu, Tamil or Malayalam later. Reaction channels in youtube is s an eg for this. Second reason is the soft power which Bollywood brings for the nation is immense. 3 idiots / Dangal has projected such positive impact for India in southeast Asia.
If Bollywood gives chance to newcomers in all the fields, ultimately good people will emerge. However this requires taking chance. At least for every five movies, if they try some outrageous idea for one; they might discover next Anurag Kashyap. It is also important to give people a break when they are young. Take an eg of Tamil industry ; directors like Atlee, Karthik subbaraj etc made films with superstars when they are so young. If they had given Manoj Bajpai a break 15 years earlier, he would have played roles which Rajkumar rao is now playing. Dont play safe, be ambitious Bollywood. 🙏

I recently started watching Katha Ankahee, a hindi remake of Binbir Gece, an award winning turkish show. The Indian adaptation has got an IMDB rating of 9.1. It's not like any other saas bahu serial. It's refreshingly amazing. The story, the dialogues, the performances everything is just so good. Do give it a try.

I seriously doubt Leo can be considered in the big race. Sanjay Dutt is a wellknown face, but Vijay is not that popular than in tamilnadu and kerala . Even Vikram starring Kamal failed in hindi. Lokesh Kanagaraj has been one of the better directors, the question is will he make a story that pan India audience will enjoy or just in south India?

Eagerly waiting for Salaar, Jawan, Animal, Fighter and Tiger 3. These movies are made for the big screen and we have gonna have a great experience to watch it in IMAX if possible. It will be a must watch in theatres. I think Jawan or Salaar can break Pathaan's records. Even Salaar can break Baahubali, Saaho and Radhe Shyam's records. Only SRK and Prabhas can break their own movie's records.

I think the benefit that Animal has is that its an original film so the Telugu audience won't be split in interest. It will be something they look forward to vs already knowing its beats

If the storyline of Jawan turns out to be good, i really feel nothing can stop it from hitting over the roof.
SRK is so much loved and missed in the big screen for so long. And this turned out to be the main reason for Pathaan 's success., though not taking the credit from John who did a wonderful job and most of the action sequences were just mind blowing. But storyline wise i cant say it was the best or extraordinary without any loop holes. If truth be told we have had better stories that this.
Other than Jawan - I am so eager to see Animal. Love to see Ranbir in a rugged look and in a out and out action movie.
Fighter - I am a little Sceptical . Frankly to say automatically my mind goes to TOP GUN. And i cant help it, it has created such an visual impact. I will be very happy if an Indian cinema able to pull off a movie like that. But seeing the directors previous filim's arial shoots i could not bring up that confident
Beating Pathaan's record is going to be real tough. There were just so many factors that led to the mammoth record. SRK's come back after 4 years, SRK's come back in the YRF Spy Franchise in an action role, YRF's third film of their spy franchise, fans wanting to support SRK in the whole boycott issue, John and Deepika power co-stars, John as a villain, and Salman Khan cameo as Tiger. Not to mention the mammoth screen count of 8000 screens worldwide.
Out of all the films in 2023, the only movies which I see as contenders to near the record is Tiger 3 and Jawan, more so Tiger 3. Regardless of Salman Khan's acting or action skills, his ability to pull the masses to the box office is extraordinary. Tiger Zinda Hai was released on 4600 screens in India vs Pathaan 5500 screens in India, yet, the film managed to collect 339 cr in India alone, that too in 2017 and without a cameo from any other superstar. Pathaan had SRK + Deepika + John, all big stars with a big fan following. Where as Tiger Zinda hai just had Salman + Katrina as the big stars.
I think now in 2023 where so many people are on social media, Tiger 3 will have a lot of exposure to reach audiences. Plus it's the next installment in the YRF Spy Franchise, the third part of the successful Tiger series, plus a cameo from SRK as Pathaan. This film has SERIOUS potential. I'm not sure whether it'll break the opening day or first weekend record of Pathaan, but it could seriously give Pathaan a run for it's money in lifetime business if the script + action is good.

The biggest weakness of Fan was the too uch overinflated scale. That boundary does not lie for Tiger 3. Maneesh Sharma always had well written films beyond that. He will pull off Tiger 3 better than we expect. It's the similar situation as mcu taking & nurturing young directors & them proving it the best way.
PS: Hoping we see local areas of delhi once in Tiger 3😂😂no one pulls Delhi off better than Maneesh Sharma

Ranbir has starred in 20 movies till now in his career and 10-12 are flop out of them..... While 4 out of those 10-12 are absolute disasters.... I wonder why he's considered this big a superstar while his box office record has been underwhelming to say the least

Pushpa 1 was fun when I saw it as a carefree regular masala film.Of course it was not as good as Rangasthalam. But a lot of the story was already told so it might just be a 3hr trailer like KGF 2.
There's a high chance that it becomes a film full of cliches.
Though being an Srk and John fan, I didn't enjoyed pathaan much, still happy for its success as it was the reason of shahrukh's comeback.

Govinda Naam Mera wasn't so bad. It was a casual commercial film and Vicky wanted to do at least one entertaining film in his career. As a Southerner, Hera Pheri, Bhaagam Bhag, Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, Taare Zaamen Par, Swades, 3 Idiots, Munna Bhai, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do, Dangal. This is Bollywood for me. You earn money when you make quality films, period. South Cinema is doing good because they are bringing good content. Bollywood should stop focusing on their failures and start working on their scripts. Pathaan made big numbers solely because of Shahrukh Khan. Had they cast any other actor the film would've sunk pretty bad. Why should audience watch your cinema when they have access to fantastic content from all over the world at their fingertips? Work on your content, write better scripts, success will eventually come to you. The honesty of filmmaking shouldn't be clouded by the greed to do big numbers.
If an average movie like pathan can break so many records, I am damn sure any above average bollywood movie will break its record.. further it would be shame for Hindi cinema if pathan is termed its highest grosser..

I believe Lokesh cinematic universe next Leo will be also mass hit. Pathan for me was a miss hit as the story and action sequences were very predictable. I believe the reason it became a hit is because of the long wait for Hindi cinema to make at least a ok kinda movie and all were eagerly waiting for king khan's return in action movies. Now a days Hindi cinema doesn't have a relatable original stories. All are coping or remade. And the problem with remake is the original movie has a much better connection with the audience and something will be there to connect with the audience. Even the commitment from the actor is different. When you are making a remake effort have to be taken to make the character our own as the will be comparison with the original actor. Hindi movie are going through a slump, it's upto them to find original relatable stories or unrealistic movie with a better connection to the audience.
