I just left Egypt after 11 days and those guys are just ruining the experience of this majestic place, first one its ok, then the second alright, then comes the third one and the fourth and the fifth. It just doesn't stop and they are difficult to get rid of, they stick to you like glue. For me it already started at the entrance, i went in through another entrance from the main street, didn't know there was another entrance. But where i entered two guys immediately spotted me and started telling me where to go what to watch, the cost of everything etc they showed their badge telling me they work there, they are sellers, and no matter what i did they just kept speaking to me and i could not go anywhere im standing in line. It was so annoying. As soon as i go in all the sharks spot me offer me camel ride, horse ride etc, someone wants me to buy souvenirs etc it just kept on and on and on, even if you say no they keep trying, it becomes really annoying after a couple of times. The place was amazing but it was hard to enjoy it fully and suck in the experience very peacefully in my own peace of mind. As soon i get some nice thoughts and being in awe they come disturbing the moment. I know they try to make a living, but they need to understand a no, and move on, not keep trying and asking questions, where you from etc.

They are not honest people, they are just nice to you because they want your money and because you are overpaying them. For example, the camel guy got 200 for a photo, you could normally get a ride for those money. The guy asked for 400 for a shemag (the head scarf) and his final price was 100. I payed 50 for an identical shemag, a few weeks ago and payed 70, at Giza, two years ago. And the guy with the horse carriage who agreed to take you to the Sphinx, actually took you to the Great Pyramid, not to the Sphinx, even though there is a paved road all the way to the Sphinx and carriages go there all day long. I love Egypt, but telling other visitors that people are nice over there and honest, might get them scammed.

My wife and i have visited Egypt twice. We absolutely loved it. Egyptians are really nice people. Very kind and smile easily. We didn't do the pyramids. We instead flew into Luxor and did the cruise down to the Asswan dame. Stopping at numerous locations. Seeing the temples is so much better than seeing the pyramids from what I can see from this video. I highly recommend the cruise trips. So relaxing. Food is great. They drive you to the temples. They pay for all your admission fees. Believe me. Wait until you walk in the temples and go to the Valley of the Kings. Very awesome!
Chris I like your attitude and patient towards those people, but I've been to Egypt wonderful country with beautiful history but those people (read scammers) are ruining the experience of the tourists. I had planned 3 weeks in Egypt after 5 days I cut my trip short and left the country, a lot of things where already paid for and had to re-book my flight but I didn't care I just wanted to get out as quickly as possible. I was so tired of fighting those scammers off EVERYBODY want money from you. They come to you super friendly but in the end they want money. This is one country I will NEVER EVER return to. I've watched videos online and I kinda knew what to expect but experience it yourself is the worst. Be safe out there!
omg i felt claustrophobic just watching this :( i don't think I could go in there. you are a real trooper thank you always for sharing your experiences
My lord. I LOVE your positivity and how you elucidated what the REAL scam is, that is, talking about scams on youtube. No doubt the ppl who are "hustling" are just trying to make a living. Im going to Cairo shortly and this video changed my perspective.
Those Indians who work at call centers and collect credit card information from gullible people and old people are "trying to male a living", too. Are they not scammers? Serious question.
I won't deny a lot pf street workers like those people can be scammers even for us Egyptians, u just learn how to ignore them ask price first, and if I can help u with no money at all just tell me, hope u enjoy ur experience bro
Hey guys, I'm receiving mixed feedback and ai never feel the need to explain myself, but here it goes. This video was filmed on my second day in Egypt and quite honestly the pyramids had been such a dream destination for me that there was really nothing that could've ruined my experience while I was there. Yes, all these touts were super annoying and they did get me on my nerves, but truthfully I felt and still feel that the activities that I participated in were reasonably priced. I mean I paid $9 for 30 minutes on a horse carriages and $2 to take a picture with a camel. That seems more than reasonable for me, especially as someone who has traveled the world and has definitely paid a lot more for a lot less. I came into the pyramid grounds as happy as could be, and felt like a kid in a candy store... a dream had come true. Later on this series, you will see that I mention the scammers and the touts and how they ruin peoples experiences in Egypt because that I definitely started to feel days into the trip. As I mentioned this was filmed on my second day in the country. Obviously feelings change as time goes on, but yes if you feel like these people are scammers than they might be... but put yourself in my position. I was at a wonder of the world living my best life, at the time NOTHING could ruin the feeling I had. I feel like other videos showcase the negative because they go there looking for that, but than again I might be wrong. I just always try and see the positive sides of every situation because I believe that is the best way to approach any new country and culture. Anyways much love and feel free to leave your comments. ❤️
I am glad you had a nice time in my country, it's a shame that the constant hustle can ruin some people's experience and I really hope that wasn't the case, unfortunately that hustle is some people's only source of income, I wish there was a better way to organize it and keep it to a minimum but I am glad you had positive vibes and didn't let anything ruin your experience, a lot of people can learn that from you, when you travel to a new country with positive vibes and excitement you get a better experience ❤
@@HasnaaAlaa 👍🏽 ikr positive vibes & the ability to just say no like Chris did, that was a good lesson i feel, say no if your uncomfortable & walk away ✌🏾
Hi Chris, I thoroughly enjoy ever video you post. I look forward to each one. I like the way you treat everyone with kindness and respect. I can well understand how you felt in the pyramid. My wife and I attempted to go in one. No more than 10 steps we turned around and walked out. Just couldn’t do it. Please don’t let any negative comments get you down as those people are not worth your time or thoughts. You are an extremely positive person and we will continue to watch your videos and recommend other people to watch them also. Best of luck in your future travels.
Dear Chris, It must be said again - seeing your balanced and loving approach to what others would only use to bash and put down people who they deem as benith them shows what a humanitarian you are and how, from the root of your soul, you find the good in every other person you meet. You ARE good - that is why you are able to see the good so naturally. You truly do no harm, say no bad words, and see with loving eyes the brotherhood of mankind. May your days on this good earth be filled with awesome, fulfilling experiences that we will be honored to watch. You connect us to this beautiful world and the amazing people in it in the best way possible; keep on being Chris and nothing but. God be with you, and as the Arabs say - Allah maak.
I so enjoyed watching your video. The pyramids were on my wish list years ago but never had the finances to go. Now I have the finances, I'm way too old 😅 Great to see you enjoying yourself and feeling so grateful for the experience. The best of wishes in all your travels 🏴
Egypt changed so much in 2 years time. It was my favorite country till 2011/2012. Went also in the years after, but it was not anymore the country I loved so much 😢 Had th worst experience ever!
Love the channel brother, youre kind, generous, honest, and a natural in front of the camera, it was your destiny to do this bro. Im travelling to Thailand for the third time because of you, and look to travel more also. Many thanks, keep em coming!
Wonderful video of the pyramids. They look very beautiful early morning. Thank you for showing us a bit of the inside of a pyramid. You have dealt so well with local sellers without being rude to them. Impressive. When you think about it, others keep negotiating over two bucks and then they say that they have been scammed. Your video made me want to visit the pyramids.
Amazing content, as a person who live in the US. Regardless how poor people approach and how sticky they are but I guarantee you’ll never feel unsafe or something. That part of the world is interesting and mind blowing. I live in Chicago, I never walked frequently in one day like Chris did. Because I’ll never feel safe in a city where 200 people get murked every single day young, old, innocent or G members, tourists u name it.
Cool video Chris! We have been to Chichen Itza, Machu Picchu, The Coliseum, Christ the Redeemer, and Petra all are unique and beautiful in their own way. We did not find the “scammers” any less bothersome than the sellers in towns such as Cabo or Cancun where you are asked to buy a tour or attend a timeshare presentation what seems like every 5 min simply walking down the street. Our experience in Egypt was life changing but it was for sure helpful for us hiring a driver and a guide prior to visiting the pyramids. 9 Pyramids Lounge was a great restaurant with excellent panoramic views too. Good to see that you like us are one of the few TH-camrs that did not complain. The local Egyptians in the Giza Complex are hustling to earn a living and we as tourists can’t blame them for that. It’s part of the experience of travel and should be embrace and expected. Salud amigo, Marlon & Gabriela
You're very respectful and wise with handling situations; arguments and insults aren't needed, politely moving on while not wasting your time is all that is needed if you're not interested.
Great guy with the camel! I love Egypt and hope to visit one day. 😍 Awesome video as always Chris, your travel vlogs are my fav because they are simply authentic and immersive!
Hey Chris, what do you have to say about the fact that Egyptian men sexually harass and assault foreign women nonstop? Are you going to defend that as well? Is that also “hurting the tourist industry”?
What a lovely guy - so kind, respectful and appreciative of everything. He had a lot more patience at the pyramids than I did! A credit to his country - and good videos too!
Chris I had PTSD watching you go up. I also had a panic attack there. Got dizzy because of amount of people. Someone had to give me water. I am never going up there again. Someone should warn you before going up.
I appreciate you traveling and showing what people like me and family could never afford 😢. You show us what the people are like in other parts of the world! Thank you! Viva mis chapines!
❤ Love your travel Chris! Thank you for showing us Egypt . I always wanted to visit as of history:) Keep feeding us with love to all countries you visit. Your positive energy is the best❤
the inside of the pyramid i've had nightmares about, maybe a past life of mine!??? ~ Terrible bad vibes inside there I felt while watching this. wow! I used to have dreams that i was being chased while inside of that place....its no wonder you had a panic attack can you imagine the things that happened in there?
Sorry Chris but those people are scammers no matter what 😂you literally don’t even support them when they ask for pictures with a scarf so you can’t even say they’re not scammers
Scammers as Chris said are those who take your money unrighfully. Those people offer you a service and they are not that pushy. And yes they have every right to charge you for taking a picture of you with a scarf. For an instance when you go Time's Square, Vegas, Hollywood Blvd and you take a picture with topless Superman, fake Arnold or the female cop you pay from $5-10 for a photo and its your choice to buy that service or not. I've personally been to Egypt this past January and I've found it the country with the least scammers because the Egyptian Police is now very responsive and tough on any kind of crime and I travel a lot. I actually find it way safer than for example NYC and most metro North American cities!
I actually love these people you found here. This only solidified my dream to travel to the pyramids (and tbh start cardio training immediately for it.) This is one of the best videos I've watched of an authentic experience here. Honestly, the working situation is anywhere tourists visit, and I have experienced slightly less aggressive people in Mexico and the Caribbean. I will look for the camel guy. Things I've learned: Eat breakfast, bring water and maybe a snack, cardio cardio cardio, and have small cash for things even US dollars. Good tips on when to visit as well. Great perspective of what to bring, including your humility and willingness to be positive. Enjoyable video!
Just discovered your channel today and I really enjoyed the valley of the kings video which is the first video I started with now I’m watching this second video. It was nice to get a perspective from a non archeologist point of view and see a new side of Egypt. Egypt has always been on my bucket list.
We shal not forget these people are working and bringing food on the table and supporting their children and exctended families ! I love you Chris for respecting all people 😍✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼and I love all of Egypt and the masreen ! Ahsan nas ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇪🇬
Wow this is by far the best video on the Giza complex and everything it entails I've seen. I've always dreamed about visiting the ancient sites of Egypt and watching this feels like I'm there with you. Thank you so much Chris! You're way of dealing with the "scammers" is really wholesome. PS. The information or "facts" from "official" sources is nothing but theories. No one knows the true origin or purpose of the pyramids.
Mr. Chris:Thanks you so much for visiting the “Pyramid Of Egypt” with other tourists in Cairo, January of 2024❤❤❤I wish you safe journeys on your trip in peace 2024❤❤❤
Great video. A number of things have changed since my first visit in the 80"s. At that time the area was open with no gates, and many local people would come up there in the evening to picnic and relax with their families. I've been several times since then and am still amazed and impressed. With luck I'll get back at least one more time.
Wow. That as awesome. Felt I was enjoying right along with you. The haggling is worldwide. When I visited Rome, it was the same. A friendly but FIRM, No thank you, worked for me. Safe travels 🤙

So I have been to the pyramids twice Chris. I didn't go inside as I was advised not to..I am tall and it is narrow & tight. Good you tried it but i agree it isn't for everyone. You are so right. It is incredible and no video or pics fully capture the experience! You will have to go back and bring your entire family if you can. I also did the horse carriage ride. The pyramids are magical and a testament to human intelligence, ingenuity and vision. Egyptians were incredible mathematicians. I d8d watch a documentary recently that said they were built by hired labourers and not slaves as previously thought. I totally agree with you re: the vendors working around the pyramids. You can easily say no and they will leave you alone. The tourist police are everywhere to ensure tourists are taken care of. I applaud you Chris for exposing the yt vloggers that claim they are scammed so that they can get views. You and 1 Canadian vlogger Seal were honest about how it really is! As you said most tourist destinations have locals trying to sell stuff. I am glad you enjoyed it. Andrew is really missing out..lol! Your kindness is wonderful to watch!
Just found you on TH-cam, and gave me great memories of Egypt. I was there in 2023 and I love this country. We had to fight those hustlers off everywhere we went, but as you said, those people need money to live, and we did a lot of activities to help them Love your videos. From a new member in NZ

Confidence tricks exploit victims using a combination of the victim's credulity, naïveté, compassion, vanity, confidence, irresponsibility, and greed." Reason No 1 not to visit Egypt anymore is the fact that you are busy 24/7 fighting off these unfriendly scammers.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Followed you after this video. I just really likz your kind attitude. To the people, locals, & followers.
We called them "the vultures"- they swoop hard and fast.......
Your kindness makes you an attractive target for scammers.
You don't need to explain shit love the video !!!
you coming to israel?
nice video mate, i couldnt have gone inside... i would have freaked out too... im 6ft 7 😂
The scenery with those pyramids looks so unreal man... blue sky, the haze, sand.. beautiful
when you turn around you will see the biggest garbage piles in the World and the smell is.....
Oh wow, bucket list stuff! Thanks for sharing with us, those pyramids seem so claustrophobic but absolutely amazing! Thanks again ❤
I love your positivity Chris ! It helped shape my perspective
Just seeing the pyramids all in a row in the background is amazing, living the dream, another tick off the bucket list.
turn around and you will see huge garbage "city" ,full of shit, dirt ...ENJOY !
Now I have the finances, I'm way too old 😅
Great to see you enjoying yourself and feeling so grateful for the experience. The best of wishes in all your travels 🏴
Egypt changed so much in 2 years time. It was my favorite country till 2011/2012. Went also in the years after, but it was not anymore the country I loved so much 😢 Had th worst experience ever!
Something about the Arab Spring in 2011 maybe?
Love the channel brother, youre kind, generous, honest, and a natural in front of the camera, it was your destiny to do this bro.
Im travelling to Thailand for the third time because of you, and look to travel more also.
Many thanks, keep em coming!
Thanks a lot for the support, I appreciate you
I'm at Sousse Tunisia, before I come here , I was wacthing your vidio @travelwithchris at Tunisia ... love it
Wonderful video of the pyramids.

Welcome, I can welcome you on a tourist tour around Egypt and see Egypt’s historical landmarks ❤
You are a great TH-camr to be honest.
You always have positive energy. God bless your brother. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
A credit to his country - and good videos too!
you are genuinely a nice human being, thank you Chris.
I appreciate that!
Chris I had PTSD watching you go up. I also had a panic attack there. Got dizzy because of amount of people. Someone had to give me water. I am never going up there again. Someone should warn you before going up.
Just get your cardio in before you visit
I appreciate you traveling and showing what people like me and family could never afford 😢. You show us what the people are like in other parts of the world! Thank you! Viva mis chapines!
Thanks a lot for the love! I appreciate you big time!
Thanks for letting me come along with you to see the pyramid. I have never been there in my life and never be able to financially.😊👍

the inside of the pyramid i've had nightmares about, maybe a past life of mine!???
I actually find it way safer than for example NYC and most metro North American cities!
there's no scam lol.. you just say no or completely ignore them and go about your day... or be negative and let it ruin your day. You have options
Chris I’m asthmatic and I think you have asthma get that checked out bro I breath the same way … be blessed love your videos
Yes I do have Asthma! I've had it my whole life
Just discovered your channel today and I really enjoyed the valley of the kings video which is the first video I started with now I’m watching this second video.

So glad you had fun and finally went inside a pyramid.👍

Thanks lot dear ❤My bro ❤😢
Great video. A number of things have changed since my first visit in the 80"s. At that time the area was open with no gates, and many local people would come up there in the evening to picnic and relax with their families.
I've been several times since then and am still amazed and impressed. With luck I'll get back at least one more time.
Welcome, I can welcome you on a tourist tour around Egypt and see Egypt’s historical landmarks ❤
What I hate is constant harassment. It's unnecessary and kinda ruins through experience. If that change they will infact make more money.
Yes I agree , it does get annoying and its crazy that they are allowed into the Pyramid grounds
@@Travelwithchristhey must know other ways to get into the area, if they are locals and the place is so wide open
Wow. That as awesome.

Love watching your videos Chris. Thanks for sharing your experience in Egypt. Now get on that treadmill 😂
One of the best videos on Egypt in all over TH-cam. Thank you, Chris for showing the true face of Egypt :)
You mean the true 💩-face. Don‘t you? This country is a nightmare.
We had to fight those hustlers off everywhere we went, but as you said, those people need money to live, and we did a lot of activities to help them

Bro just scammed the “scammers”. Knew damn well dood was gonna ask for some bread, and still let him take the pics. 😂
We had a guide to the pyramids and still you had a better tour there. Our guide rushed us. I love your enthusiasm and delight.
These people are the definition of a con artist... "A scam, or confidence trick, is an attempt to defraud a person or group after first gaining their trust. Confidence tricks exploit victims using a combination of the victim's credulity, naïveté, compassion, vanity, confidence, irresponsibility, and greed." Call it what you want honestly but its gross, I know what selling on the streets looks like and this isn't it.
TWC, I will be visiting Cairo in May and have already booked my guided tour! I'm very excited about seeing the Pyramids and Sphinx. Thanks for sharing how things roll out there.
yeah no scammers just people getting you to take pictures then wanting money all them not scammers would ruin your day
Because theres not people offering services like that anywhere else in the world, obviously a picture isn't free, nothing in this world is free

Omg when you went in that narrow tunnel, I felt claustrophobic too!
Great video , felt like I was there
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙏🏻
There was one time in my life that I wanted to visit Egypt, but after one friend went there, and seeing multiple videos like this about the constant scammers, no thank you!
Google says Estimates suggest it took about 20 years to build the pyramid.
Each pyramid took between 15 and 30 years.
The pyramids were not built by the Egyptians, they were found by the Egyptians, but built by something else out of this world.
My favorite line, "You have to come back down the same way?" haha I got mad respect for you attempting that tunnel to the King's Chamber! Awesome video 🔥🐻
Chris, you realy changed my perspective! Thank you for that!
Thanks so much for watching!
Chris , you are the most honest man. I'm originally from Egypt. I wanna tell you that these guys wanna make few bucks by asking tourist this or that . Remember this is their way of living. However as Chris showed in the video you can always negotiate price or just walk away. I've been to several places in the world, you will find them all over the globe. Thanks Chris for being very honest and informative.
No!…you will not find this shameless scavengers all over the world!
Only in Egypt and India.

I saw you uploaded this video. I told my mom. She was worried about you. It's 1am here in New York. We are going to bed now and we will watch tomorrow.
I’ve been to Egypt last year and yes I can confirm that the situation is exactly like the are next to the Pyramid.
However I’ve also visited Cairo downtown and other cities ,including Alexandria, and I found the best hospitality ever:local people are friendly and welcoming with the tourists❤❤❤
