People want to project stereotypes and get upset if they can’t on someone

It BOTHERS people to see black women minding our business, especially if we look peaceful . I think thats what it is , our peacefulness offends them .

I’m an introvert. Ppl think I’m going to be sassy clap back and loud. I can be extrovert if needed but it’s so draining.

Yeah it can be really draining

It is very draining. The loud, sassy and ignorant folks think just because you're also Black or another ethnic group (speaking in general about people in my field/experience) we all act the same. Not at all - far from it. 🙄

They want to be entertained by the caricature they see on TV, movies, and too often in real life.😢

👏🏽👏🏽I’m a boomer and my expert advice could not have said it better. At some point you do realize it’s not your job to make folk comfortable about you not wanting to be bothered. 🌹🙏🏽

Being introverted and being rude are two different things. The latter leaves a bad taste in people's mouths. Black women have a reputation for not having basic social skills, especially those in the service industry. Too many just don't understand the importance of it. And then they wonder why they are not considered feminine.

I'm sure this has already been mentioned, but in the workplace, and society at large, people that loud and ignorant black woman they see in movies and TV. They want to be entertained. They want to see the neck and eye rolling, hear the broken ebonics. When they don't get that, they become intrigued, even suspicious.

True and it’s pretty ridiculous. We don’t exist for their entertainment.

@ItsShayyy Since you arrived here, maybe before, we have been for their entertainment. The sad thing is we keep playing into it. Steve Harvey bucking those bug eyes.

I'm black, introverted, beautiful, quirky, love meaningful conversations way more than small talk and you are absolutely right. Sometimes even non- blacks get offended. I'm not about to change God's great work, so they will have to keep taking offense.

Black introverts in general aren't very liked. Especially within their "own community". Blacks are often times viewed as loud and talkative. When a black person is not like this, they are often times ganged up on or scrutinized. Quietness is tolerated in most other cultures. Introversion and quietness is a lot more accepted and even valued in Asian and middle eastern culture in particular. But black introverts are very much ridiculed.

That because the community can't handle sigmas.

This is definitely TRUE! Other black people have pretty much always treated me bad, and I knew it's because I'm quiet and don't act loud and ghetto! They can't stand that! They'll then put all types of labels on you. Then, here comes certain white folks who feel comfortable trying to disrespect you, especially when they've been influenced by their ghetto friends..smh. It's a mess.

Nope I have gotten it mostly from white people

    • @PariahKamikaze
      @PariahKamikaze หลายเดือนก่อน

@Jwa-fo6nb I believe it. I'd say white can be just as bad if not worse with their treatment of black introverts. They expect black to be loud and a constant source if their entertainment. So when most meet more reserved and serious blacks, they get uncomfortable and ugly with their treatment.

Its the Same way for Black Introverted Men. Especially us non-street dude's. People assume your rude if you enter a place & don't speak. But I just keep to myself

I experienced this my entire childhood. I guess kids thought I was "stuck up" for being quiet, and these were black kids who said it. I remember when I was in the military, this white girl says "you're not loud like other black girls." I guess it was supposed to be a compliment, but it was one of those backhanded compliments that's actually an insult.

Yes, i remember when i was told to smile because i was looking "so serious " at a job i once had and i was thought to be upset when really i was just focused.. I was 26 with 2 children under 3. I was actually always thinking of how i can't fail and be flimsy now that I have two babies who depend on me.. i wasn't mad, i was just focused and wanted to make sure i was paying attention and on time so i could keep a roof over their (my kids) head 🤷🏾‍♀️
