I hate my job so much, my manager is so extremely toxic and condescending micromanager. I can barley afford to pay my bills UGH. I applied over 100 jobs and no luck. Pray for me y’all.

Some employers are so toxic that even if you try to quit on good terms, they sabotage you when your new employer call them as a reference. They treated you so bad but dare you to quit so when you do, they become more toxic! Sorry for my english, i'm french by language. Thanks for your advice and i love your channel so much.

At one point in my life I was stuck in a toxic job for five years. It wasn't my manager who was toxic, it was the entire dynamic forced upon staff by upper management. I'd cry every day on my drive home from work, but the pay was so good I hung in there until I had something else lined up and had also paid off my car. To give you an idea of how bad the environment was: At one point 1/3 of my department was out on stress leave. Truth. I actually received a phone call one day from the head of HR for the entire corporation who was located in another state. She wanted to know how I was managing when so many could not. I told her I was considerably older than my colleagues with a long work history and attributed it to that. My last day on the job there was one of the happiest days of my entire life.

The job is not so much toxic, but it is just not a good fit for my personality and my best way of working. I will be practicing mindfulness before and after work and updating my resume and LinkedIn this weekend. Thank you for a great video!

This is just my opinion but when a job begin to make you physically and mentally ill it is time to leave. Some employers feel they own you instead of you working for them. They constantly piling on more work and will not raise your salary.

I am in this situation right now. I get sick every 2 months like clock work. I’m a salaried employee that works over 50+ hours a week and do not get pad overtime because my manager said as a salaried employee I do not get overtime. It’s killing my soul. I work with untrustworthy and lazy people, and the person I’m suppose to count on as my right hand demands extra money every time I try to delegate work to him. So I am ready to quit. I’m moving to a cheaper accommodation, and will soon be able to save a little to quit for a month or 2.

Sometimes, jumping from one job to another can be like jumping from a frying pan right into a flaming 🔥
The new job may even turn out to be much worse than the previous one!
Ultimately, the ideal goal is to be self-employed and financially independent!
And there are many pathways to that lofty goal!
Each person needs to find their own unique journey toward that independence!

    • @deerhaven3350
      @deerhaven3350 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Legally, any job must allow for breaks. Where I was only designated breaks were allowed. They tracked you if you left your desk at any other time because we were a call center. They'd report everyone's breaks to the entire department with hard-copies at meetings. A co-worker friend of mine used to call them the "potty reports". It was so humiliating and degrading, and this was at a very large, well-know, world-wide corporation.

I disassociate from my toxic employer as much as possible. That means limit my interactions to only necessary ones and switch to remote or hybrid schedules. Sadly this can only get you so far as your employer will make stupid decisions that negatively impact you without learning from it --they'll repeat the same thing so best to get out asap.

I feel more lost now. We are not able to decorate our desks, or relocate our sitting position, I work with multiple toxic people (awful), there is NO work to do, HR have been unsupportive in the past (I've lots of evidence of employment law being broken, ready to sue when I leave). Mindfulness is my biggest friend. I put a single thought in my mind at the start of the day, I leave myself visual cues in my diary. I'm working on my next study exam to help my CV, and I've been applying for new jobs. Sadly a 3month notice for me. Thanks for your video as it has pointed out a couple of things, and has shown me I'm on the right track.

I adored the job i was hired for. My supervisor put in a request for a raise. 6 months later, not only did I not get the raise, but they terminated my position and made me the assistant to the assistant of the director for my "incredible skill set". Now, whilst i recognize this is an amazing opportunity for some, it's a TERRIBLE fit for me. I'm not an administrative assistant, i want nothing to do with meetings and minutes, and i hate everything about this new position. Not only that, but I'm less busy than i was before. To add insult to injury, they couldn't "find it in the budget" to give me a raise, but three other people did that same month. For those who might ask, i asked if i could decline the position and i was told my previous position no longer exists. My choices were to accept it or quit on the spot.

Have you had a conversation with your workmates? If your workmates are speaking to you rudely or inappropriately and your boss isn’t doing anything about it, start keeping a record of what’s going on.
You should also try talking to your workmates directly because sometimes people don’t realize the impact of their behavior. If that doesn’t help, bring it up with your boss again, show her your notes and explain how it’s impacting your work.
Please take care of yourself and try to manage stress. If things don’t get better, perhaps consider whether this job is still the right fit for you.

Who really needs recommendation letter? HR just check if person work there or not. Our employment is at will. Means you can leave or they let you go any time. Reference should not be a concern when employment at will.

I needed this. I am a paraprofessional working with a bitchy teacher who micromanages EVERY THING and treats me like a maid. I'm currently in school to get a master so I can get OUT. I kida hate my life a lot right now but I am keep pushing. I just have to force myself to keep in mind that I'm stating for student loan forgiveness and a full ride masters scholarship…but it's so damn hard working there 😢
