    Matt, awesome little builds. I have been building cabinets and furniture pieces for a minute. I have found for your finish, that shellac (clear) with 2 thin coats( sanding 220 in between coats) and finishing with a Johnson's finishing paste (2 coats or more). This gives you a amazingly smooth finish (like dining room table). I did this on my own dining table. Only I did 4 coats of shellac for durability. It's way easier than poly. Much nicer of a look too. I have pics of product that I mentioned. But I can't attach them to the comments.

    Hey Matt when you make the z clip slots for the bottom shelf Did you only put them in the Front and back bottom rails (Part D in the plans) because of the height difference with the side rails (E). The plans don't mention a measurement for the placement of the z clips there so was wondering if z clips on front and back would be enough....Thanks for all your content.

    I was wondering if you could do this with 1x10s and save some money? At my local lumber store 1x10s are only $1 more. Would it just leave more wood waste or would you be able to buy less boards? I might have to try that out.

    Hey Matt, I just finished building the coffee table and the end table. Thank you for the idea. I noticed the pocket holes barely show on the leg braces and the bottom shelf. Mine did too. Just a thought, but if you lowered that horizontal brace 1/2", those holes wouldn't show. Just a thought. When I build it again, I think I'll lower them 1/2" and see what happens.

    Hey Mr. Outlaw. I tried your long level method of jointing a board, worked well. I even showed my buddy. He also like it but asked me...isnt your fence as straight and square as the long level? Honestly stumped me haha!

    • @731Woodworks
      @731Woodworks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Problem with just using the fence, is the board is referencing itself on the fence and doesn’t have a true straight edge to reference. When you use the level, it gives it a straight edge to reference

    Safety question. It looks like the delta cruiser literally throws a ton of cutoff debris right at your face every chop you make. Not safe on camera perspective. 2:07 & 2:25 examples. Looks like you lean away from it as you cut. How do you feel about this over other brands in terms of user safety?

    Please answer my earlier question. I bought the plans. 5 2x6 x10 foot seems like a lot of wood. Is this for one table or two? And what kind of wood did you use?

    Nice plan Matt, I just built one of these and am working on another. I did change it up a bit though. I used pocket holes like the plan but my preferred method is dowels with the dowelmax jig, pocket holes work well here though! I would sent you a pic but don't know how to do it here. I painted the base in an off white and stained the shelf,top and drawer front a dark walnut. really like your videos keep it up!

    Do you use the planer on on your 1×6, new to wood working and i haven't seen you use it on your projects. I know most of the 1×6 at my big box store aren't the flatest.
