Matt, thankyou for introducing me to pocket holes...you can never know how much this has changed my life...almost every build I do now, my customers are requesting pocket hole joints....
Bro I work night shift a lot in the oilfield in west Texas, I watch a lot of your videos and just wanted to tell you you’re awesome! Thanks for your channel
Built the non drawer version for my inlaws for Christmas and they LOVE it! Used dowels instead of pocket screws, otherwise used your plans. Even made a TH-cam of the build. Thank you!
Hey Matt, Thank you for doing such a great job explaining what you’re doing. I’m a retired 68 year young guy who started piddling with woodworking about a year ago. Now I’m building furniture thanks to your help and videos. God bless you and keep up the awesome videos. 🙏👍
These gotta be the nicest comments I’ve ever seen! I am trying to start crafting things and will be buying your plans and hope I can rig it up to be half way as decent as yours.
I am working on the farmhouse end table. Thank you for all your help. Great channel and keep it up. I am blind and it is a challenge, but because of your videos and easy to follow instructions on your plans for different projects I am out making sawdust and pocket holes time every day here. Thank you for all the free videos. Enjoy them a lot.
Love the videos man. It's nice to watch a channel that uses normal tools that a hobbyist could have. Found your channel a few weeks ago, and you're a definite favorite
I cracked up when you said pocket hole haters turn your head😄 I'm almost finished making my table. You put together a very good video. Much appreciated. 😊
I'll say that after watching a few of your videos, I finally decided to jump into the pool as well. Thanks for the great ideas and being transparent! This will be another addition to my line as well!
Thats what I did so many years ago,.jumped righ in. Now, back then there was no TH-cam! So research anything and everything here. It's a great hobby and a way to make extra money. Good luck buddy!
Matt I just finished a pair of these using your video. This is like my third project ever and I can’t say how much I appreciate your channel. I’ve learned so much and I’m definitely a fan of pocket holes now! God bless brother
I'm jumping in head first trying to make some money at this. Your channel is soooo helpful and I appreciate the encouragement. I selected this piece (well, my wife actually did) as my first piece of furniture. I'll post a short video when it's done. Thanks for your help.👊
Just bought the plans for this build and I’m gonna be building 2 of them. I just finished up building a farmhouse coffee table and a couple end tables to match it will look awesome! I’m still a noob/intermediate and I’ve been doing woodworking for almost a year now and I’ve been subscribed to your channel since I started. Thank you for a good descriptive detailed video and the plans
I recently used the kreg draw jig to help install a sliding shelf / draw for kitchen cab. I highly recommend them. It takes the guessing game out and helps complete the task ... the first time lol
I made this end table this week, it cost $156 for the lumber and slides. Don't see how there is any money to be made building these, especially when there is so much older stuff out there. I can buy an end table that is just as nice if not nicer for around $60. That being said, I really enjoyed building it, it came out great and felt good, I am just starting out, I watch your videos and have ordered several plans from your website. Thank you for your videos!
I appreciate the time and effort you put in recording your work. Your down to earth explanations make woodworking feel extremely approachable for beginners. Hope you and your family are well!
I got into wood wooding after buying a new house and figuring out i can make things cheaper then i can buy them. Started watching your channel and have learned alot. Now i have people wanting me to make things for them. Still trying to get the hang of jointing with the table saw... Thanks Matt..
You do great work. Love how easy you make this. I reference many of your videos over and over again when I am building furniture that I dream up in my head and have no actual plans or diagrams for. You have saved me a lot of stress. Thanks for posting and please keep it up.
Matt, awesome little builds. I have been building cabinets and furniture pieces for a minute. I have found for your finish, that shellac (clear) with 2 thin coats( sanding 220 in between coats) and finishing with a Johnson's finishing paste (2 coats or more). This gives you a amazingly smooth finish (like dining room table). I did this on my own dining table. Only I did 4 coats of shellac for durability. It's way easier than poly. Much nicer of a look too. I have pics of product that I mentioned. But I can't attach them to the comments.
Good job Matt After 2 years I'm finally getting around to building one of these. Mine is slightly different of course.. No "X" on the sides, not one, but two drawers and half reclaimed wood and half standard dimensional lumber. Should be pretty good!
Great build and excellent guidance! I’m going attempt this build this weekend. My wife and I are expecting our first child in a couple months and this piece would look perfect in the nursery! Keep up the awesome content brother!
Just finished my nightstands, and they turned out great! I used three pieces of rebar evenly spaced across each side, rather than the "X" and stained with deeper gray, sanded, then some brown, sanded, followed by transparent gray. It turned out very nice (wish I could post a photo). God bless.
Matt it was just yesterday my daughter asked if I would build her a TV stand/sofa table. After watching your video today, I can’t wait to get started. Oh... btw did you know you are blessed and highly favoured?
Hey Matt, I just finished building the coffee table and the end table. Thank you for the idea. I noticed the pocket holes barely show on the leg braces and the bottom shelf. Mine did too. Just a thought, but if you lowered that horizontal brace 1/2", those holes wouldn't show. Just a thought. When I build it again, I think I'll lower them 1/2" and see what happens.
Love your videos man. Im a beginning wood worker and find your content super helpfull and full of tips that i can actually use. Thank you and keep em coming.
Hey Matt. I just completed this table after purchasing your plans, but I only needed 2.5 1x6x10’ boards; not 5. Also, I think there might be a mix up on your measurements on the side pieces. Mixed them up. Anyways, it turned out great and I used the same paint scheme you and I both used on the Country Coffee table so they match. Wife loves it too. And I have two boards left over now to build something else. Love your ideas. Thanks.
hey man, just ordered your plans for this without the drawer, going to attempt to build it this afternoon. thanks for helping give me confidence to get into wood working. shout out from Sheridan Arkansas. thanks man!
Just got 1 of these done yesterday! Second one is just about finished its alot bigger because I already had the drawers so mad it to fit but it turned out great thanks so much! Plan on doing same style for a TV stand here soon to match!
Hey! Great videos. I’ve built many things for our home and even for a church auction, but I’ve never thought about building furniture to sell. I look forward to your other videos.
Man I love your videos! I love woodworking! I just started but ive always worked with my hands framing and such doing finish work is awesome! Keep influencing people like myself to get out there and build it!
Good technique and I love using the 1 x 6. Look at Ana Whites method for installing drawer slides and drawers. It works so easy. Up here in MO if you need some timber from here on the farm.
Nice plan Matt, I just built one of these and am working on another. I did change it up a bit though. I used pocket holes like the plan but my preferred method is dowels with the dowelmax jig, pocket holes work well here though! I would sent you a pic but don't know how to do it here. I painted the base in an off white and stained the shelf, top and drawer front a dark walnut. really like your videos keep it up!
As many others have commented, love your down to earth approach and explanations and humor.. Definitely a huge help. Your video make every step seem easy. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Matt. Currently I'm working on a project very similar mine is a knight stand. But all this info I'm using it to finish my project. Keep up the good work Bud.
I appreciate the video which helps a beginner like myself. After purchasing the plans, I think the BOM needs revised, I noticed item "D" and "E" lengths may need to be swapped? I could be wrong Thank you again!
great job, love watching your work. Praying for the time you can make this your daily deal. Keep it up and God Bless your family. It would be great if you gave rough est time for total build. Hey Matt when you make the z clip slots for the bottom shelf Did you only put them in the Front and back bottom rails (Part D in the plans) because of the height difference with the side rails (E). The plans don't mention a measurement for the placement of the z clips there so was wondering if z clips on front and back would be enough....Thanks for all your content.
Thankyou for pulling the runner apart to fit it to the drawer. So many people on TH-cam do it wrong.
Cheers from Downunder
Enjoy your videos. Nice to listen to someone that isn't too full of themselves. Keep up the good work. Thanx-.
