Just because you have a million gadgets doesn’t make you a woodworker. I have plenty of friends with thousands and thousands in tools and fancy gizmos and can’t build worth a crap. If it helps you and you can justify it, buy it!
This on the other hand is BEAUTIFUL craftsmanship!
Amazing piece! This is the first video I’ve seen of yours and I love the process!

@ 13:00 "unfortunately the veneers (Dutch word coming from "vaneer"- meaning, literally, "fans", because the Dutch were the inventors of marquetry work- the art of working with veneers) were much redder". Of course they are. The treatment they go through makes them always "pinkier". So yes, you absolutely have to adjust colours. The choice of a greenish ue was the right one. There are two colour families: red, and green. To counterbalance one, you use the other.
Nice, clean work , so thumbs up.

You're fast becoming my favorite woodworker/carpenter/crafsman/maker and whatever else the kids call you these days. I really respect your skills and drooling over every tool I've seen you use.
Keep up the great content. Love the humor too.

Love the "doublement gum ref" and the two Jerry's. Lol. A little techy with the tools, but your videos are so entertaining - love the voice-overs.

Your delivery and presentation is the perfect combo of informative, entertaining and comedic. The pacing is excellent too. I find a lot of woodworking channels to be a bit too slowly paced to be engaging. Bravo sir

I've seen you on IG, but just heard on the Modern Craftsman podcast that you had a youtube video. I'm super impressed with the details of this video! You captured the small details that have to be thought through - a lot of you tubers don't show the small details. I appreciate that. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome! Thank you! Had a great time chatting with those guys. I've looked up to them for years, so it was a big fan-boy moment for me. And joinery details are definitely something I try to show on my videos. I think it's important to show people the mechanics of how I assemble the furniture I build. New video hopefully drops this Saturday. Angled bridle joints, mortise & tenon, Dominos and more!!! 😜

Really incredible build. Plus, your banter is top notch. (On a good day I could pull off the banter, as for the skill and craftsmanship… That’s not happening.) Just an exceptional video.
