Alcester 10K 2023 - Chasing a sub 36... it's now or never!

On Sunday 8 October 2023 I returned to Alcester now knowing the course and what might be possible for a crack at breaking that 36 minute barrier. I had been targeting this race for a while and brought my fitness from the track racing season into the Autumn road races. My plan was to go out at 5:45 per mile pace, push it up the hill at 5K and then try to hold on to the finish. The weather was slightly hotter than expected, I had some niggles and was tired from a busy work schedule but non of this was going to stop me from putting my all into the race and pushing myself to see what I could do. I set off from the start line and put my game plan into action. Was it enough? Have a watch to find out.
