Dayyam im 49 just started running for 5 months and just hit under 23 mins was well happy just saw this and put me right in my place lol these guys are animals
Make sure you mix outdoor with indoor running. Outdoor running improves treadmill running massively, but it doesn't work the other way around in my experience. Treadmills don't work you calf and achilles which is where most of your forward drive comes from.
@@itzboeingkid9113 Goodjob! I feel the injury thing got injured twice to this day. I recommend doing strength training as their what build strong durable legs and keep you from being injured. You could ask your coach for the exercises
I thought he was going to faint running like that so I watched it till the end wow🤔 his running form was like a chopping a tree type of movement and still ran a great time and won! 😮
wow! This guy is a train. Thank you for publishing this. Very nice view. At the beginning, I thought he was a pacer but then, I realised how wrong I was. Fantastic
What a wonderful race and video! It popped up in youtube and I thought I'll give it a watch .. the start was fast and I thought the guy in the green and white had a steady and graceful stride ... my money was on him! But, there was something addicitive about Jack's rhythm, cadence and style ... I also thought, surely he can't keep this up! I have watched and rewatched many times, and each time I still can't help but smile! What a performance! I love the fact that he really isn't racing against anyone but himself; frequent checks on the wrist for pace .... adjustments made to match his plan ... there is a moment late in the race, where he picks the pace up and Jack's form is just so elegant ... A joy to watch. Thanks for sharing.
40:10 - The poor lady who completed at the last with pace 37+ minutes and no one was there to support her... I feel sorry for her but at the same time, I appreciate how much focused she was on not giving-up....
wow some seriously elite running here, and also some unlikely looking people finishing a 5km in under 20 minutes, just goes to show, never judge a book by its cover :) I remember doing a sub 20 minutes a few times, and it was a real push!!!
I counted about 40 runners under 15 minutes for 5k on the road - a lot of serious club runners here - they must've come from all over the country. England Athletics Championship; not quite sure what that is - maybe a national 5k road championship?
The winner was a beast. I wondered if he was a pacer at first, as he seemed to be continually glancing at his watch. He had a very pronounced arm swing. He could probably go faster if he sorted that out. Great running!
At first I thought Jack went off too fast but he was able to hold the pack off and put substantial distance on them, Amazing running ! Would love to know his training programme? You're the Man Jack
This form is great. I use the same form. You save energy cause depending on how much you lean forward, well fall forward you let gravity take you a little faster. You are also bounding essentially with each step while trying to keep the cadence up which is controlled by your tilt. The arms are for both the drive and balance and you keep them totally loose. Same with the shoulders but brace your core and run tall. Looks a little weird to some but you save energy. You just need to train up to hold the form for long distances at good paces.
Man these people are fast. I'm a 28 yo dude running for 1 year now and best i can do is 20:45. A lot of people decades older than me where running faster times 😐
I dont complain or tryna be a coach or something.. im just a fan of running.. therefore EVERYBODY RUNS DIFFERENTLY.. and i like that.. as long as it doesnt get u injured and it works..
Jack Gray's form is like if you were racing in a dream and could just effortlessly bound forward
He is always polite as he laps me haha.
Great performance indeed but still I can't imagine what goes through the mind of a running form coach 😅
To be able to run that long with a style that looks like you are about to faint any second is impressive. Never seen such a running style for 5K.
Don't try this at home
@@unfazed01 HAHHAHAHA
@@MarcelaSantos-se9hc What the hell is this my man hahaha
Exactly. From the beginning I thought he will collapse because it looked so forced. Respect that he won.
Jack Gray Is an accomplished runner. With a 5k pb of 13.47 things must be working right for him.
The first guy running like Forrest Gump!!!
That man has a very unorthodox run with those front side mechanics, but it worked!
Runs like Erling Haaland
indeed. Doing what works for him.
It was like watching a computer game avatar running with that arm action.
using his arms to push foward very good
@@welcometomathy exactly!
waiting for EVERY competitor from sub 14 to sub 47 so wholesome. First thought: This style aint gonna make it till the end but he did! respect
Exactly what I thought lol. It looks so forced I thought he will collapse. The guy who followed him at the beginning runs so relaxed (it looks like)
We capture all the runners at some poitn during our streams. We're nice like that :D
@@retinair Ye are indeed. And I watched until the end because of it.
His running style is hilarious but he got the job done in a super time congrats to this windmill runner.
Wow that guy literally just ran like it was for his life for 14 minutes.😅 goes to show doesnt matter what people think you should look like.
I believe he was on something... watch carefully how he accelerated starting at 3km mark.
That push on the pace at 12:10 tested the chasers 😳 13:55 was the one that broke them. That dude is the real deal.
he sure is
Excellent camera work, stunning surroundings and inspiring runner right in front. Thank you for this.
much appreciated. And a sub would be great!
He is running like he is at last meters in 400m relay . Amazing that keeps pace with this style
Dayyam im 49 just started running for 5 months and just hit under 23 mins was well happy just saw this and put me right in my place lol these guys are animals
Good luck with your running journey 👌
I’m in the gym trying to break a sub 20 min 5k and almost dying by the end. Amazing running here. Dude at the front is an absolute freak 🏃♂️
I can comfortably do a sub 30... now aiming for sub 28.
Make sure you mix outdoor with indoor running. Outdoor running improves treadmill running massively, but it doesn't work the other way around in my experience. Treadmills don't work you calf and achilles which is where most of your forward drive comes from.
Update: I can do sub 28, 5k now between zone 3-4 of my HR.
@HUMJRX70 Yeah I don't know how I would be able to stare at the treadmill for the whole 5k week in/out.
@@_trust9994 well done mate keep up the good work 👏

Apart from his bizarre running style, I'm shocked at how many runners are under 16 minutes. Amazing.
It was short of a 5K. Pretty much have to add 1 minute to everyone’s time, to have a more realistic few of there actual time.
@@DA-bp8lf No you don't. It is 5k, although widely recognised as a quick course because of a slight downhill finish beyond the start line.
This is so insane kipchoge run this pace for 42km 😮
No he doesn’t 😂

3k in and he just put on the gas and didnt look back. What an awesome race and INCREDIBLE footage
Legend running like he’s late for school. 🏃♂️
i have never seen taht style in running before but respect to this guy because he managed to keeep the pace to the finish line
Brutal front running!!!
I was happy with my today PB in Park Run - 19.49.... until I saw this... :)
how he could running like that n still got the best time, his heart must as strong as steel, impressive

EXCELLENT CAMERA WORK! Man, he's so fast with a unique mechanic..
Incredible stride length. Really unique but very effective style
Unreal! Very unorthodox running style but it works!
Best style. The strider. If it works for him, so be it. Made it look easy. Full range ahead 😊
To all those that ran in over 30 mins, big proud. You finished :)
Really impressed with Jack's upper body strength.
He uses his upper torso and arms to power his stride.
Great running.
yea,so many great runners here. With my 18min 5km I am nothing here
the cameraman ridin one handed while lookin back and holdin the camera is very impresive
Excellent camera work

The speed they are going is impressive
I’m exhausted watching the winner’s running action!
Credit to him for his drive and commitment though. Has a huge will to win.
