This is as factually correct as a Sunday Sport expose’. To set the record straight…. I was injured 6 WEEKS prior to to event…. I finished in 2 hours 7 minutes and NOT “well over 2 hours”, and it wasn’t a ‘bloke carrying a washing machine” that overtook me at all. I think you will find it was a tumble dryer.

Intriguing, to have been running for 10 years & natural curiosity never having led you to tackle a 10k. In addition, for such a great time, you finish like you have been walking off a good lunch. Do you actually do a warm up? I'm taking part in my first ever race next weekend and wondering what to do to pass the time before kick off.
Honestly - I NEVER warm up. Not ever. Become superstition now. Best thing to do before kick off is people watch. Fascinating. Where are you running? I’m in Oxford next weekend.
The sheer beauty of giving an ultimatum to the viewership to hit 1000 subscribers is beyond admirable. Commenting for algorithms to digest to reportate, which is their want in attempt to decrease the chance of you chucking in the towel.
Desperate times call for different measures. I’ve signed up for an ultra in January. That was going to be an extended New Years’ “Special”. Might just sit in a cold field and review a sock.
I know you said “never ever” a full marathon again, but I think you should run at least 1 more and pick up your well-deserved sub-3 hr marathon PR… your sub 1:25 half marathon times are absolutely predictive of a sub-3 marathon! 👍
