Great Birmingham Run Half Marathon 2024 - Can I finally run a sub

Sunday 5 May 2024 and we are back at the race where my TH-cam running journey began. The Great Birmingham Run Half Marathon always delivers and in its second year of the new course which takes on more of the city centre sights the weather was once again hot and sunny. B&RAC were out in full force along with some other friendly faces. It is now three weeks after Manchester Marathon and I am hoping that I can use my marathon fitness to shoot for my first ever sub 1:20 half. Can I keep the pace and finally hit that elusive target? Epic run. Don't know quite how I missed you as you managed to film me. 2:02 in and you're passing Dawn in the F60 bib. Quite a bit to come off on a flat course in cooler conditions .

Immense running, Brett! 👏 congrats on the PB. I was complaining how cold and wet it was at Cov the other week, having looked at the last 2 Sundays I think we got the better end of it. I’m useless in heat 😂

Well done Brett ... the results keep coming! I took part and managed to drag myself round with a knee injury, but enjoyed every minute of it. Was my first race ever. Old on was 1:57, managed a pb of 1:47! Absolutely loved the event, loving watching all the footage on TH-cam now also. Sub 1:20!!! Absolutely incredible, what a guy! Keep up the great work, and putting out excellent content!
