    This is going to sound really weird but I love how human the both of you are. You are so relatable. I genuinely learn so much from you because you are not far removed from reality. Your conversations are not fluffy or superficial. I think I will be coming back to so many of these instalments in the future for wisdom. ✨

    I just love what Lerato is saying, when God withholds something from us - it's never to harm or hurt us. He always wants to give us the abundance when we are ready to receive and manage what He has entrusted us with.
    If we can be trusted with the little that we have, He can trust us with much more.

    My husband and I made a choice in the type of lifestyle we want for ourselves and our future kids and the one thing we remain resolute with is to stay away from environments that will put pressure on us, be it family, schools, friends, church and the likes.
    We are human and we may find ourselves diverting from the goal, so being aware of our surroundings is also very crucial.
    Men hardly have the pressure that women feel. Eish we have self inflicted pressure maan and I found myself loosing focus, until husband brought me back to my lane and the Holy Spirit.
    God worked on me shame and I'm happy now.

    I often find love leaves the chat once the man is broke, regardless of how great a partner they are. The fact that your wife stayed with you speaks highly of her character. That's rare today, especially amongst young middle class black couples. You guys are blessed beyond measure and will reap the rewards of your sacrifices. Thank you for sharing your honest truth.

    This conversation is so deep guys. I just saw the stats from the WHO, which show that SA is in the top two countries with the highest suicide rate, and men are the most affected. The idea that men should be providers is so outdated and is quite frankly a false presentation of our world today. We need to normalise the role of women as co-providers, and not shame men or put pressure on them when they are unable to provide, temporarily. Unemployment is the reality of both men and women. Your conversations are thought-provoking.
    Edit (I comment as I listen 🤣)...you guys are spot-on, on being aligned, and managing your desires.

    • @peacenation9338
      @peacenation9338 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was about to comment on the suicide stats and saw yours instead. As a man, I can tell you that it is SOO REAL!!! Worse part, we are 'supposed' to be strong and not talk about it lest we are seen as weaklings. Growing up I never understood why seemingly healthy men in my community committed suicide. I foolishly use to judge them but now I have a sober understanding of what some them went through. Losing your ability to provide and have the person you love walk out on you as a result is really traumatic.

    Thank you for this. Finances play such an integral part in a relationship- they either make it or break. It's not always the absence of money that brings issues, it's the lack of common vision/stance on finances that does. Transparency is key and it is important to share common values within a relationship.
    Even for a single person, the thoughts you share apply to my life. I've learned so much from you as a couple and as individuals. Happy 11th wedding anniversary and thank you for the great content.

  • @ofentsemailula7177

    This is such an important thought and thank you for providing your experience. I think a lot of people go through this and it’s beautiful to shed some light on it. Not that I’ve gone through it but that I’ve seen it in some of the relationships in my family. But I think what I take from this is that it’s so important to have the same vision and for me to see that in my family and how it has worked over years is really what gives me hope. Hearing your experience from both sides is liberating. I know I’m talking all over the place, but really thank you for really going deep and just being real. Thank you for this thought. Really love you guys.

    🥺🥺😭😭😭guys I'm literally in tears, from good fellas (having to serve your peers) to Soweto (downgrading to live with family) I'm so humbled because those are such REAL struggles. You two are a blessing to us because you are showing us that we can come out on the other end alright. Love yall and thank you🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾so humbled❣

    Today's installment was so encouraging in many ways. I loved what you said about starting over. That it's okay to start over. Don't live by abantu bazothini syndrome. It's your life, do you boo! I have also started over in my life and trust God that on the other side soon, I will tell my story of victory and success! Thank you guys❤.

    That part about handing the card to Lerato beforehand so he could pay really triggered me, PTSD! 😫😂 Did that with an ex, he wasn't a good guy like Lerato. Just a user.
