What about the all-important FLAPS, YAW and TRIM. It would be almost impossible to successfully take-off, fly and land without those, particularly with weighted arms. And for those who want realism, there aren't shortcut keys in the real world, you would have to use your fingers/hand/feet to adjust controls. Let's not go into lights! Also, the gear was raised way too early and you probably found that taking off and getting a decent ROC was difficult because the FLAPS weren't set and neither was take-off TRIM.

What happens when the buttons that are assigned, like turning on the radar, don't actually do anything and the camera jitter that has the jet moving around like a can of paint in a paint shaker and probably would actually kill the pilot, makes me want to throw up just looking at the screen.
@@TiJayFLYIt is set. Hence the reason it works 50% of the time. And where do you adjust camera jitter??? Not that it would ever actually be like that, the jet is moving back and forth like an inch and a half. That would A be tearing the jet apart and B kill the pilot. And you can adjust the incredible feeble maximum pitching angel???
Keyboard layouts may vary between countries. Check the control assignments in DCS itself and it may be mapped to something else in your territory. UK and US English full size keyboards will have a Home button, usually to the left of the number pad.
These were the default settings DCS assigned - I believe it auto-configures based on PC specs. You can adjust this stuff manually in Options, but it’ll affect frames
I find it pretty funny that there are 12 times as many controls as there are buttons on the cockpit too. Like, its a good job the developers dont design real planes, the switches would be so crammed into the cockpit that you wouldnt be able to press just one, youd be hitting 4 at a time 🤣
Yes 😄 pause the video regularly and make notes - you’ll drive yourself mad if you try to remember all this stuff. They are all listed in the game’s Option menu too, of course. But there’s a lot of stuff in there, whereas this video only has the “important” ones

@@m.t.asteriti9860 this kind of issue is usually caused by misbehaving game controllers. If you don’t have any plugged in, your best bet will be to ask on some DCS forum and provide a video if possible.
when i try to go up with my arrow keys, it just stays on where i pointed it how can i make it so it goes back to its original position
That’s vertical trim. There are hot keys assigned in the sim on PC and Xbox so you can set it :)
@@TiJayFLY uhh how do i edit it so the stick on my plane doesnt stay in the same place vertically when i try to take off
Hey so i put my wind at 0 right and when i take off the plane just sort of drifts to the right. Do you have any idea whats causing this? and i cant takeoff my plane pitches up a bit and falls into the ground
More power, less weight, evenly distributed. Flaps on takeoff
The canon is offset.
What happens when the buttons that are assigned, like turning on the radar, don't actually do anything and the camera jitter that has the jet moving around like a can of paint in a paint shaker and probably would actually kill the pilot, makes me want to throw up just looking at the screen.
Sounds like stuff that can all be set in options (checking key assignments for radar, adjusting head movement etc)
@@TiJayFLYIt is set. Hence the reason it works 50% of the time. And where do you adjust camera jitter??? Not that it would ever actually be like that, the jet is moving back and forth like an inch and a half. That would A be tearing the jet apart and B kill the pilot. And you can adjust the incredible feeble maximum pitching angel???
the thing that doesn't make sense is right shift home I don't know what home or Wich key it is
Keyboard layouts may vary between countries. Check the control assignments in DCS itself and it may be mapped to something else in your territory. UK and US English full size keyboards will have a Home button, usually to the left of the number pad.
loved the video and laughed at the end when i heard now u know the basics of how yo fly a russian fighter jet XD
yes, maybe that hasn't aged too well..!
It does not let me start up the engines
how do you get your cockpit resolution so bloody high?
These were the default settings DCS assigned - I believe it auto-configures based on PC specs. You can adjust this stuff manually in Options, but it’ll affect frames
what do i do if i dont fly any other aircraft?
fly this?
Dude why did you add su25 not su25t on the thumbnail?
Very hard finding royalty free pictures of SU25s… and I couldn’t tell the difference 😂
@@TiJayFLY oh okay
how to shoot missiles and rockets?
Most of the main weapon systems are covered in the video 👍
hello this is a good vid but when im in a dog fight and i hear the beep my misiles wont shoot and yes i press the shoot button
nvm found the problem
What was it? I didn't know off the top of my head, sorry.
I find it pretty funny that there are 12 times as many controls as there are buttons on the cockpit too. Like, its a good job the developers dont design real planes, the switches would be so crammed into the cockpit that you wouldnt be able to press just one, youd be hitting 4 at a time 🤣
auto pilot with left out and 6 aswell like what button on a keyboard is that
Left Alt
How am I supposed to remember all the commands? Do you just have to write them down?
Yes 😄 pause the video regularly and make notes - you’ll drive yourself mad if you try to remember all this stuff.
They are all listed in the game’s Option menu too, of course. But there’s a lot of stuff in there, whereas this video only has the “important” ones
Was trying to follow this and got confused about a warning in game, Apparently before I even took off a random system failed.. Nice Guide by the way.
Hmm. I didn’t realise failures were on by default. There’ll be an option to switch them off
@@TiJayFLY Nah they aren't but I forgot to switch it off, Then didn't realize why I had a Women speaking in Russian for about 10 minutes before I crashed, Had something called Hyro or whatever fail I think? Anywho cheers for the information either way.
what does 'right out' mean? you said right out + comma, idk what right out is
Right Alt 😁
Great tutorial
Really good tutorial
damn my playned keeps going to the it wont let me even take off what am I doing wrong ?
If you’re heavy you’ll likely need flaps. I should have turned them on tbh!
How do you rember all these keybinds 👀
I wrote myself a checklist - the idea of this video is that you can do the same while watching it :)
How do I pull on the stick I’m cunfused
Either using your game pad, flight stick, or the keys assigned in DCS (check the controls options)
Thanks for the video. Anyone have an issue with the dials having little flickering boxes in the corners?
This is the best tutorial
I can’t move I pressed every button but I can’t even move single bit
Try the in game tutorials instead :)
The pitching is absolutely awful too. The limit of most planes is the pilot, not the plane, the pilot would be blacking out before the plane stalls from pitching at a steep angel (like 8° in this game 🤣)
i dont have keyboard with right shift
You can reassign keys in control options but realistically, you’re gonna need a full size keyboard for this plane
Just when you thought there couldnt be anything worse than Tinylimp (Microsoft) Flight Simulator...
DLC...I mean, DCS! 🤣
I cant start the engine
Make sure the hot keys are set up, they should be default
@@TiJayFLY hot keys?
@@TiJayFLY sorry Im just 12 I just wanna play this game bc my dad is in the airforce
@@handsdown5603 check if it's set up right by pressing escape > controls and then search for start engine I think. It's a pretty tough sim to learn.
@@clutchsharp2343 alr thanks for the help I will try that
WHAT IS THE BUTTON FOR FIRE
Space bar by default
great video
