    My first flight I did not know if my electronics were on, ( I was in the air) so I hit left ctrl C thinking that they would turn on, I was rewarded with my canopy taring off and a super loud audio effect

      @PlzDontKillDave 8 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      LMAO been there myself. I was in flight in a different plane... and i know ctrl C is canopy... but... i was just mashing buttons to see how to turn the weapon system on... and ... RIP... and i was playing with a friend at the time and i said... "what ever you do... do not look at my plane" he looked and laughed his ass off.

      Tried some flight sims back in the ‘90s and lost interest due to the learning curve. Fast forward to 2024, I have more patience and thanks to TH-camrs like Rob, I’m actually learning something this time. Very good series, so far!

    The entire Su-25T series is beyond reproach. Complete, comprehensive, and thorough without being information overload. Sometimes I felt you went on a bit much on a couple topics, but that's my issue, not a problem with the video. I'm using this video series to make a series of checklists I can use. Thank you Very Much!

    If like me you are a noob to DCS then hands down this is the best SU-25T training series I have come across on TH-cam. Spoken at a sensible speed and very clearly described this has helped me get to grips with the many controls and methods required to fly this plane.
    Excellent work Rob, with great production, I watched 0-3 this morning and plan to watch the rest after this comment. Thank you very much, liked (alot!) and subscribed.

    Thank you so much Robert for putting together these awesome video tutorials! I've been trying real hard to learn this sim but have been very frustrated with the lack of tutorials and instructions that a non-pilot could understand. I was about to delete DCS World from my computer but now I'm loving this game thanks to your videos. They are really fantastic! You're very good at this, please keep the tutorials coming.

    As I replied on the other comment you left me on the Prologue video:
    "The language spoken is related to the country that the plane identifies as. Change the Su25T's country to an English speaking country in the mission editor for English dialog. The Su25T that I fly in these tutorials is a Georgian plane."
    You have to open the mission editor, click on your Su-25T and change the Country to Georgia.
    You cannot get English dialog over the radio in the campaigns at this time.

    Thanks for these tutorials! I have just returned to DCS after a 3 year lay off and naturally started up with DCS World. The Su25T they provide is a great simulation. Obviously no mouse clicks so its a HOTAS profile to fly it properly! I was fully "typed" on the Hog and the Black Shark, but after a long lay off flying these this is a nice challenge!! Thanks again.

    No problem! Your comment actually made me go look it up to see if you were correct. It never made sense to me that the engines would be spinning at 100rpm (10 x10) so I always just kind of assumed it stood for percentage of full RPM.
    I'm sure when they release the updated cockpit for the Su-25T (which is currently being worked on, will be free, but no ETA on release) they'll fix the gauge to represent x10% as shown in the manual. :)

    Better than some videos I've seen of first impressions. Some guys manage to detonate their plane.

  • @psyrixx
    @psyrixx  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not mandatory but very very highly recommended. You can use something cheap such as the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro for the Su-25T and Flaming Cliffs level planes but you might want to consider something more elaborate such as the Saitek x52 for the higher fidelity sims such as DCS A-10C, DCS Ka-50 or DCS P-51D.

  • @psyrixx
    @psyrixx  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    One more thing you might want to check - make sure if you're using a joystick that has a throttle, the throttle must be set at 0 before you can start your engines. So slide it all the way backward before trying RAlt + Home or RCtrl + Home to start your engines.

    Wow.. Bravo.. Extremely informative, great tutorial. All tuts need to be like this one. I must say.. The startup procedure in this one is an absolute CAKEWALK than in DCS: A-10 lol.. It would be a great investment, I'm waiting for the consumer version! I don't know how useful it would end up being with DCS considering you have to still be able to see your keyboard while flying to switch modes, etc.
    Use TrackIR myself but for these tutorials I'm presenting as if I were a new player who didn't want to invest a bunch of money in gear just to get in the air.
    So I've got my TrackIR disabled and am just using basic joystick controls and keyboard commands for everything else. :)

    I know a bit about flying planes. I know that the right pedal on the floor is your accelerator and the left pedal is your brake. The lever in your right hand does the landing gear. The stick in the middle or to the side of you is what makes you move. Push it forward and you go up pull in back to go down. Pulling it left or right will make you point the nose in that direction. If you need to know anything else don't hesitate to ask. I love being so smart. Hoped this helped.

    • @psyrixx
      @psyrixx  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the Su25T the switches and buttons in the cockpit are not functional.
      You need to fly one of the Professional Flight Model aircraft, which come with fully modeled avionics systems in order to interact with the cockpit. The A-10C, Ka-50, UH-1H, P-51D, and many of the other modules have interactive cockpits. The Flaming Cliffs series aircraft (of which the Su25T is a member) do not.

    How do you get English over the radio????
    Rob, very good videos. I especially like the English radio. In the version of DCS SU-25that I have the radio chatter is all in Russian. While this is very authentic and seems realistic it would be very helpful to hear English over the radio. I appreciate that the text in the upper left corner is in English but for training it would be nice to hear English.

    Hi Rob, I'm new to simflight and I'm going to buy DCS A-10 (now I'm playing with DCSW Su25T with keyboard only, but It's impossible!). Can you please suggest a good and cheap joystick for DCS? and which's yours? Thx in adv.

    Hi Robert, can I ask you what rudder pedals do you use/recommend?
    I currently have the Thrustmaster hotas and I am ready to start with you super Su25T tutorials.
    When you have a chance. Thanks in advance. Lelo

      I'm using the MFG Crosswind pedals but they were expensive. You can always take a look at a cheaper set (which I recommend especially if you're not used to using rudder pedals because they do take a little getting used to). I've had the Saitek (now Logitech) G Pro Flight pedals and they're decent, but I've also heard good things about the CH Pro Pedals. Good luck!

      Thanks Robert, as always responding so fast and with good criteria.
      I will narrow my decision between the CH Pro and the Thrustmaster TFRP pedals. Great help!
      Again, thanks!

    Hallo!!! How did you get your cockpit without the glare reflections? I can’t see through mine. Just getting into DCS and struggling to see we acquiring a target

      This was posted 8 years ago and before they updated the Su25T model or the game engine to support things like glass reflections. :-)
      Not sure you'll be able to get around that now :(

    IDK if i could control the plane using the keyboard tho on air. I can fly the plane from the runway but it will roll and dive immediately and i can't control it. Maybe i missed something from the tutorial.

    I'll be recording and editing the next tutorial as soon as a hot fix comes out for the recently released 1.2.5 patch. The patch broke a few things with the game engine and I don't want to film the next installment until these issues have been addressed.
    Hopefully, if the hot fix is released tomorrow as planned, I'll have Part 2 of this tutorial up by Friday. It discusses takeoff procedure and some basic navigation.

    You can turn on the ground using the rudder left / rudder right controls as explained in the video. By default the keys are Z and X. To turn in the air, you move your joystick left or right until the aircraft rolls to the left or right, and you pull back slightly to maintain a neutral climb rate.
    Watch Parts 2 and 3 of this tutorial series for more information on turning an airplane. You could also read the manual for the Su-25T (it is included with DCS World).
