Those 23mm SPUU-22 gunpods might have the ballistic profile of a squirt gun, but by God, they hit like a truck.

I would like to see a lot more dogfights of attack aircraft and fighter/bombers, such as the SU-24, SU-34, MiG 27 etc. I find it a refreshing break from multirole and air superiority fighters. Like you were saying in this video, the tactics are so much different it often ends up feeling like a WWII dogfight.

I would love to see the A10 with modern high output engines! Being able to fly super slow then gain speed fast would be a crazy combo for this style fighter

Have you ever looked at an A-10's wing cross section? It's a subsonic only jet.
I mean, she's a tough bird, but the airframe stresses could get pretty high pretty quick. That said, the efficiency of modern engines and the extra power could mean a substantial increase in ordinance, provided the engines were actually powerful enough to get the thing off the ground.

Your previous fight was with a Su-25T if I remember... the A version has better aerodynamics and less weight, being more maneubrable. Internal Su-25 cannon is also a 30 mm designed to destroy armoured vehicles , I would prefer this to gunpods, less weight and drag and still dangerous firepower. But the effect of the gunpods in just fractions of second was amazing.

su25a is the most underrated plane in DCS imo. I love the simplicity of it. And people underestimate it in a2a.

Sick video. Those gunpods are nuts. You can do CCRP style gun runs over the top of the target without ever having to nose down at the target. The pods will track your target as you pass over and blast em. Lol never seen anyone juke you out of your shoes like that what a beautiful maneuver

I'm new to DCS, I usually fly the frog in Enigma's CW and today I actually had a lot of fights with the hogs so this was extremely informative to watch. Now I know how to deal with the hog better💪🐸

You didn't mention it, but those gunpods can be adjusted to very different angles on the fly, from level to almost vertical. And it seems yours had been adjusted up to level for the second round.

Hey @GS...now that DCS is on Multi thread...how about a battle royale series of matches with every nation's best jet at once? You could do a round of BVR, a round of guns only, and a round with missiles (every nation's best missiles?) only after the merge. Thoughts?
Given the A-10's surprisingly good performance in the one circle, how would you feel about taking it out against a Mirage-2000 in a future video? Always love to see them panic as they start to lose.
IMO the Mirage probably murders it. Nevermind the vertical element, I think the Mirage even straight-up wins the one-circle. The minimum radius that thing can pull is absolutely ridiculous.

The Su-25 is great, really great stuff there. As long as you got lead on target, and the radar is hooked up to the guns you can make things happen with it.

It's crazy how quickly the SU-25's guns kill the A-10. Usually the A-10 Shrugs off cannons like its nothing
Also at 8:34 that double engine shot with the gun pods was amazing.
Keep in mind that the Su-25 also has a 30mm cannon. That would absolutely shred an A-10 to pieces.

2:19 LOL Pro tip.....Turn off the AC so the bullets have more power.
Might have better luck popping the canopy and leading him with your side arm than trying to line up those canted guns. I can't recall using the FF for a dogfight. Time to change that. Look for the smoke rising to see how it went.....
