Hi drewski there is a mod that makes fc3 planes have a clickable cockpit, it does work on multiplayer servers also, just something I thought you would find interesting.
If you push your Flanker to Mach 2 and high, you may actually out range the AIM-120C fired from deck. ;) As long as you keep the speed you can defend against it while the other party eats the ET.
I don't know about the su 27 but I hopped right in the f-15 and was able to takeoff and land almost immediately. F15 dlc was a great value. I just haven't gotten into combat yet since I'm so new I know I'd be useless. :)
@@paulm3010 it reduces the weight that the wing has to carry, you'll be able to turn better at higher speeds, because there will be less stress on the wing, which also reduces the risk of ripping your wings. The ECM is counterproductive, as the strategy in the flanker usally is to stay undetected. It just tells everyone that you're there. What worked best for me was staying low, fast (throttle at full power, just out of afterburner) Using Drewski's technique with EO, vertical scan and zoomed out Datalink. My loadout usally is 4xR-77, 2xR-27ET, 2xR-73 and the clear wingtips However i recently found out that you can launch R-27ERs break lock, regain lock and have them track again so maybe thats worth trying
@@acewyvern3489 yeah i love to play it sneaky too. for the r-27ers, do you think it's possible to purposely turn off radar just after launching, to turn off their rwr alarm, and relock later for hit ? (it sounds overly complicated, but maybe it can help stay undetected longer...)
@@paulm3010 yes it is possible, however it has 2 negative effects, 1st, you need to keep the missile between you and the enemy plane 2nd, the missile will do a sharp turn, basically snap, onto the target and loose a lot of speed

My question is where to begin? My fear is the learning curve. I’m assuming that there are somewhat “standardized” keys and controls for the genre of the 1st person shooters and vehicles, to do tasks like fire, look/aiming, move, pick up stuff, flaps, brakes, throttle, etc…etc… but watching you and others play I feel like I should go back to Pong and Mario Brothers. I know I’ll need a decent Windows 🤢 machine, and an XBox controller, no problem. But what titles, servers, would you suggest? Or just dive in to, say, ARMA or Tarkov and die ALOT.
Can you, or have you done noob, intro videos?
Thanks for your time. I know this was a bit long…
MORE DCS, I LOVE WATCHING YOU PLAY THIS GAME!!
Love the dcs content. Please keep them coming
Hi drewski there is a mod that makes fc3 planes have a clickable cockpit, it does work on multiplayer servers also, just something I thought you would find interesting.
If anyone wanted the song at the end its "Just like the Metro by Superintendent McCupcakes"
Flanker with afterburner at 10km altitude swings 27ER over 40km or more. You rather struggle with lock on when the opponed has ECM
That beeping would drive me mad
If you push your Flanker to Mach 2 and high, you may actually out range the AIM-120C fired from deck. ;) As long as you keep the speed you can defend against it while the other party eats the ET.
These videos made me start a pc build for dcs
It is amazing of your knowledge on military aircraft! I am gonna guess you were in the Air Force? Incredible knowledge and thank you for your service!
The Two planes Drewski can’t resist in DCS
im more of a su-33 man myself but i do gotta try the su 27
It's the same thing basically
@@odysseus9797 yeah but one can take off and land on BOAT that’s why I didn’t but the su 27 was because I just got the 33 and it can do BOAT stuff
12:28lmao Ozzy Osborne moment
been flying this with an xbox controller and having a great time in pve just got my first 4 pvp kills with it the other day
What binds do you have? Is there some kind of guide online for setting up with an Xbox controller in this plane??
this is the main reason im subscribed
I don't know about the su 27 but I hopped right in the f-15 and was able to takeoff and land almost immediately. F15 dlc was a great value. I just haven't gotten into combat yet since I'm so new I know I'd be useless. :)
Small advice for flankers in general, keep the wingtips clear, no missile or ECM on pylon 1 and 10
Why ? Is it really worth it ?
@@paulm3010 it reduces the weight that the wing has to carry, you'll be able to turn better at higher speeds, because there will be less stress on the wing, which also reduces the risk of ripping your wings.
The ECM is counterproductive, as the strategy in the flanker usally is to stay undetected. It just tells everyone that you're there.
What worked best for me was staying low, fast (throttle at full power, just out of afterburner)
Using Drewski's technique with EO, vertical scan and zoomed out Datalink.
My loadout usally is 4xR-77, 2xR-27ET, 2xR-73 and the clear wingtips
However i recently found out that you can launch R-27ERs break lock, regain lock and have them track again so maybe thats worth trying
@@paulm3010 yes it is possible, however it has 2 negative effects,
1st, you need to keep the missile between you and the enemy plane
2nd, the missile will do a sharp turn, basically snap, onto the target and loose a lot of speed
@@paulm3010 dont get me wrong, it does work to make people panic somewhat
But im not sure how well it might work
no idea about planes but that looked kinda cool to me so i enjoyed anyway
why don't you use "override launch authorization" when BVR fighting advance fighters to make them go defensive with you and slowly slowly close the gap?
imo flankers have the hardest radar to master.. theres quite a bit of math involved to get it accurately.
I think your pronunciation of Tbilisi was spot on.
there's a mod made by RedK0d that makes some buttons clickable in FC3 planes
I love me some dcs drewski vids!
If you want a carrier can able aircraft but don’t have like 80 dollars I recommend looking at su-27 and su-33
You fly like crazy. I like it.
if you think the flanker is easy learn the F 15, you can rip off 6 120s in TWS and the targets wont know till the missiles go active
