Ford made a really good product here, so good it's underappreciated. I for one have a 2017 Sport and it's the best midsize sedan out there. I've driven Accord, Camry, Malibu, Legacy, Sonata and a few others... they don't come even close to what Ford is offering in a Sport trim. It's sad to see that Ford will be discontinuing the midsize segment so I went out and got myself a Sport and I'm pretty happy. I debadged Sport and EcoBoost lettering (sleeper status) it looks like a regular Fusion. I remember you guys had a hot or not episode Fusion vs BMW, well that BMW never expects a Fusion to be coming for them like that lol. Took many BMW, Audi and VW drivers by surprise and that's the beauty of it.
Replaced my 2013 Acura TSX with the 2017 Ford Platinum 2.0. The 4 year old Acura never had to brought in to the dealer for anything. But even with the Technology package, with an awesome radio which recorded on a hard drive every CD inserted, it never felt like a near luxury car. In contrast, the Fusion Platinum is a true luxury car without the luxury nameplate, or big engine. I thought hard about giving up my Acura reliability. It was the last model made in Japan. Discontinued the next year. I had just been hit by a 97 year old driver that went through a stop sign. $7500 worth of damage. Traded reliability for luxury.
As a sport owner I can say he underestimated the performance numbers. It’s the fastest sedan car I’ve ever driven. I literally shock people on tbe road not expecting it all the time. The bmw’s and Hondas. They hate this car. I love it.
Bought my fusion sport in August with the white platinum paint and absolutely love this thing. Absolutely shitting on people at red-lights in a ford fusion and the look you get will never not be funny to me
About time the Fusion got a real powerful engine, and suited to all wheel drive is even better. This will be the quickest, all around best performing midsize sedan in the segment. I doubt many of it's competitors if any at all will match it, let alone beat it.
Best looking... 1. 2012 Optima EX 2. 2011 Optima LX 3. 2016 Mazda 6 I have the first two! Fusion's refresh looks good and must be sweet with the 2.7 turbo!
+shopwithaaron *The 2.7L Ecoboost in the Ford Edge does 60 in 5.7s, the Fusion is 500 pounds lighter so I would guess a 5.0-5.2s to 60 in the Sport Fusion.*
+Brandon Haroldsen about $26,200 for my SE. Price includes the moon roof for about $1000, freight charge for about $870, delivery for $300, and some other small details
We own a 2014 SE Fusion and it is a great car. Super quiet, great braking, handles well. Will probably get another in 2017 when the lease is up. I am thinking 2.0 Eco Boost. Right now we have the 2.5. It is adequate, but a but is the car's weakest feature, IMHO, along with a very low front passenger seat with no height adjustment. The car rides like no other, however. Rock solid, smooth, comfy and quiet.
I'm not a Ford guy but looks like the Fusion has added value that shouldn't be ignored in this segment. What I don't understand is why turbochargers are preferred over superchargers. I've owned cars with both and prefer supercharging.
+Tully3674 Turbochargers don't have any parasitic losses so they are more efficient over superchargers. Modern turbo engines produce as close to zero lag as possible.
Interesting. I'm waiting for the end of the year to see both Escape and Fusion, side by side, and have them test driven. The exterior on both looks amazing.
"...have a solution for everybody" - Unfortunately not for us manual/stick drivers anymore :(. Mazda 6 touring and Honda Accord Sport have manual options. Good looking wheels on the display model and overall an really attractive and nice driving (automatic) mid-sized car. Thanks for the early update.
Man I’m glad as shit I got one. It was priced at 20k with 87k mi, sold it to me for 18k with a 2k down payment. I’m satisfied with this car for sure. Just need to learn how to fully use the sports mode
the 2.7 ecoboost. the same engine that's already available in the F-150 makes that truck a really fast truck and it's almost twice the weight of the fusion; just imagine the possibilities of what it's gonna be like in a mid-sized sedan?....plus AWD! this car is gonna have the Germans looking over there shoulder.
Looks almost exactly the same since it's new gen in 2013. Accords refresh looks like a bigger change same with Sonata's etc. If it ant broke don't fix it.
+Ness Rosenbrad Babe. The Hyundai Sonata was all-new last year while maintaining an evolutionary, seamlessly look but losing its egg-crate -like shape; on the other hand, I think Toyota's refresh was the biggest for 2015 because the front-end was totally reimagined, as well as its rear-end while maintaining its A, B and C-pillars. Although, Honda has done a magnificent job with its Accord front fascia and restyled taillamps, but it was not totally revamped like Toyota as mentioned; in addition, Ford's refreshed Fusion looks good and not overly finished in chrome and the biggest change is the engine choice and that is something to put Ford nearly first in this segment in my opinion.
Ford, DO NOT discontinue the Fusion! You’re making a huge mistake! The Fusion is such a comfortable driving, nice looking mid size sedan. Not everyone wants or needs a truck/SUV.
The Fusion is a great driving car, now with more refinements and the larger ecoboost it should be a great seller. Too bad it's not assembled in the USA, you can thank NAFTA for that.
Great car. Theyre honestly best in class because the accord is good but not great, the koreans are also good but not great, malibu is new so i cant judge, camry is garbage, and the 200 is garbage.
+Samwise Drogod I know! what is with these auto companies making cars with such huge power like the sport but no stick shift available, that would be the ultimate sleeper and driver car of mid size family sedans
+Mike Utoober Considering how serious the industry as a whole is pushing toward autonomy... Wtf makes you think they should make a car that requires MORE effort to drive? The average person cares nothing for driving dynamics and everyone is dreaming of a hyperEV like anything made by TESLA to haul not drive them to and from work every day. That's the new american dream.
just because you and most others dont like manual doesnt mean others cant like it, personally i will not buy a sport trim level unless its manual. actualyl to be honest if im gonna be getting an auto vehicle the only thing i will get is a truck. never an automatic car. cars are boring to begin with in most cases now atleast the manual transmission puts some spirit and fun back into it again
Mike Utoober I agree that manuals are super fun and really is the ultimate connection with the car, but people who actually prefer a manual over an auto are a niche group and manufactures can't justify the cost. its sad but the true.
+Austin Ehm Eh... I don't really like the stylings of the Accord or Acura's. I REALLY want the 2017 MKZ... but spec'd and priced how I'd like is somewhere close to $50k. I'll probably trick out a Fusion Sport and give up the 75hp in favor of all the options I want and be under $40K
+MEGaming that's dumb why pay $40,000 for a car that's going to be in a junk yard in 5-10 years. The new Honda Civic is a bigger car and next year they will offer it with a turbo you can get a very nice civic for $25,000 or accord for $30,000 atleast they hold there value and last forever...
The 2.7 V6 Sport AWD is nice, but I find myself more drawn to the Titanium Energi. I do wish the Ford would either revise the battery location or adding more density to ~10kWh.
+Trades46 How much is the average mpg, gas and electric and combined? And yeah the v6 sport is for those who want a true sleeper, i mean really true quiet sleeper, not 1 that burbles but can keep up or beat a burbly v8
Ponygt 662 According to sources, the Titanium Energi is a powertrain carryover from 2017 with the facelifted car's exterior & interior. So when fully charged you get ~21miles of full EV driving ~88MPGe and when you run out it drives like a Hybrid doing ~38MPG combined. You really won't see the greatest benefit unless you plug-in nightly. Otherwise the Hybrid makes more sense than the Energi.
Trades46 Yup I too have driven the Hybrid for a wrek and I really liked, drive mostly was in city hence got over 24 miles electric only range, Overall I managed 38 mpg with the car and it was as fast as Accord Hybrid but way way way more fun to drive and the suspension toofelt solid and very good compared to floaty rolly molly accord, I think nowadays the people blindly believe all things Japanese r good, but thr facts r strange, I used to like Hondad, but aftet driving recent Fords I am a big fan f Ford, and I drive a Fiesta ST now, No Honda shit is as good as a Fiesta ST
Ponygt 662 I come from a family who owned nothing but Japanese cars. However after driving a Focus around SF Bay area during a holiday I came away impressed. Later I drove a Cruze around Las Vegas and I liked that too. American cars have come a long way. I liked both cars better than I did the Corolla my cousin has.
Trades46 Exactly man, same here as well, I have even spent money on American, I drive a Fiesta ST now, Simply amazing, never in this world have I ever thot fwd cud be this fun, Ford U stole ma heart eith that ST
325/350 is pretty darn solid for this car. But you know there is more that could be done with it. The Focus RS has only a 2.3L I-4 compared to this 2.7L V-6, but makes 350/350. We need a Fusion RS, they would probably be getting 400hp if they did similar upgrades to the V-6.
+goatmonkey2112 The 2.7 v6 EB has 4 states of tune 315 HP 375 ft pounds 325 hp 350 ft pounds 330 hp 350 ft pounds 400 hp 390 ft pounds All are with tuning and different psi turbos, all are stable and can b applied but transmission tuning is perfected only for 3 tunes, not the 400 hp one

damn I just got the 13 and you mean to tell me they already have the 17 model out already ??? oh well ,,,, man I'm loving the head lights on the 17 model .
Lakeshia McGee It's starting at $36,000. You can always bring them down a few thousand though, nice car. I don't see how people can afford the $100,000 cars. haha
Roman!!! You guys do a great job and I always enjoy the reviews. However.... How do you NOT mention that Ford has gone to a rotary shifter in the Fusion for 2017???? Ok, so not quite EVERYTHING I wanted to know.
+abz124816 My thoughts exactly. Rather surprising for a marketing manager to look away from a member of the press corps. My son is about 3 1/2 years old and even he knows to look at me when I'm speaking to him.
Fusion Sport sounds interesting. EPA estimates are not impressive, though. This manager says nothing like it on the market. Oops - except for Audi, BMW, Volvo...
No way...You're kidding me. I'm not making a comparison...when looking for a new Ford, I considered the Fusion. As it would have made for a practical choice. However, I went with the FiST for the fun factor. This little beaST is a blast. Thank you.
Dang. Three minuted into the video and all he has talked about is the cup holders and the engine? If I had him for a car salesman I wouldn't have looked twice at a Fusion. Who is he related to to get the Director of Marketing job? Henry's great- great grandson?
The 2.7t Sport is going to be interesting indeed and I can't wait to see what the performance numbers look like. I also wonder if the version of this engine in the Fusion Sport has the CGI block like it does in the F150. If so, that's even better.
+Barry Raymond And what's the problem with that? Those cars are made by robots and machines, is not like is made by a mexican in a garage with his family, fucking racist!
"Im hispanic!" "Im white!" "Im an American, asshole!" Blah blah blah.. Just because the CEO of a company rakes in the cash while residing in the US shouldn't mean a car is American. If I was born in Mexico and took a train ride across the border into the US im not suddenly American, therefore cars built in Mexico and transported to the US shouldn't magically be considered American either. An American owner of the company makes money off this product, thats it. This car, as well as its company, is an economic, culrural, corporate frankenstein. Who we are doesn't matter.
Not to take this young guys comment too seriously, but c'mon JR ! If a marketing guy from a German car company EVER answered that first question by saying his favorite thing about the new car was cupholders, they would be fired. If you are truly trying to compete with the best cars in this segment, your mindset has to be elevated to the level of the best in it. Another example of this is Chevy's new commercials where they market in car wi-fi as the top selling point of the car. That's a joke to me. Do you want to drive a good car or do you want to drive a computer ? Anyway.....With the Fusions new 2.7 ecoboost and awd version, I think this car can compete with the better midsize cars, including the German offerings. This car can compete with more than just the accord and camry because of its different engine choices. On the flip side, if you are listing the cup holders as an issue with your new car, then you need to just turn in your license and take the bus or train. Leave more room on the road for people that care about driving dynamics, and powertrain/performance.
"What's your most favorite part of the car?" "Hmmm...should I mention the AWD system, LEDs, 300+hp motor, maybe its exterior looks....ah....cup holders!.....yep, that's it." Great salesmanship marketing guy. I suppose someone has to graduate at the bottom of the advertising and marketing class.
+Jeff K An EcoBoost Mustang weighs 3500lbs. It makes more power than a 3V S197 Mustang and weighs slightly less. It doesn't lack power, that's for sure. Now if the Mustang weighed over 4,000lbs like a Challenger, then yeah, I'd absolutely agree.
it's not same or lower pricing,I priced out a mostly loaded 2017 Fusion Sport on the Ford website today. I like the car but,you could get a Taurus Sho for what this thing costs.
+Shawn Meadows Thats what makes Ford special, you can have a car that resembles a whole lot of premium cars, and above all she drives great, true its not Mazda 6 sharp but its way way way way better than boring accords, camrys, maximas, hyundais and KIAs Also powerful, the 2.7 TT AWD is gonna rock
its a mondeo. and why don't the uk get that 4x4 option. if we had more choice id love a 2.2 or 3.2 tdci estate 4x4 with a little more ride height. perfect family car.... id buy one
I like this ford guy when he speaks about competitors he speaks with respect. And the awd sports version is just perfect.
+Liang Yan Agreed! ;-)
guys like this make me proud to be a Ford owner.
.. It's just a brand lol
Ford rules for sure owned em all!
I'm a Ford fusion owner as well
still the best looking midsize sedan.
No
+Dodge 318 Cummins Then what do you think is?
lol
+Christopher Mcginnis
Mazda 6 still looks better.
3.6L Dodge Avenger No... It really doesn't.
Drove this at my local auto show. Was really fun to drive!
One of the best interiors in its class and one of the best driving experience in its class. A great car.
350ib torque? AWD? New cup holders? ......I'm in!
I just bought a '19 Sport AWD . Love it. The foreign cars are gone!
Ford made a really good product here, so good it's underappreciated. I for one have a 2017 Sport and it's the best midsize sedan out there. GREAT MOVE FORD, FUSION SPORT V6 IT'S BACK HELL YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH
I love good cup holders, little things like that truly make a good car
For me the fusion is the queen of its segment period
that's a very good looking car!
+lffit Indeed!
Damn!!! I really want one now. Awesome looking updates

All wheel drive plus 2.7 ecoboost should make it stand out.
+Jeff K YASSSSS!
I'd be ok with 1 liter ecoboost
+Jeff K Its going to be a beast! this motor pulls hard in my 2015 Edge Sport..cant imagine in a vehicle that is much lighter
+Jeff K This configuration in this size is what the SHO should've been, not the boat it is today!
Yeaaaa. Love my '19.
This guy is the marketing manager for the Fusion? I own a 2014 and I could sound more excited about the car than he does...
He shouldn't be at the marketing department.
Maybe his puppy died right before he stepped up to the camera.
About time the Fusion got a real powerful engine, and suited to all wheel drive is even better. This will be the quickest, all around best performing midsize sedan in the segment. I doubt many of it's competitors if any at all will match it, let alone beat it.
What's good about AWD? Ummm

I have a custom 2017 fusion SE on order coming straight from the factory and I'm getting it in August. I can't wait to get it
How much was it? For everything?
+Brandon Haroldsen about $26,200 for my SE. Price includes the moon roof for about $1000, freight charge for about $870, delivery for $300, and some other small details
+Salvadol Gilbert that's a nice price! I'm thinking about buying the Titanium package.
+Brandon Haroldsen 2017 model?
+Salvadol Gilbert yeah.

Beautiful car !! Glad Ford keeping in production thru 2020 +. Looking at these now!
They're ending production at the end of this year 2019. #sadly
I've been watching your videos for a while now and like them and would like to see more videos like this.
I like Ford's Magnetic color. With black wheels it makes Ford's look hyper aggressive.
Great interview. He really enjoyed talking about the car.
Interesting. I'm waiting for the end of the year to see both Escape and Fusion, side by side, and have them test driven. The exterior on both looks amazing.
it's about time Ford came out with a powerful Fusion.
Why don't you look at the 2010- 2012 Fusion sport...
Im so happy Ford brought back the V6 And the Sport!!!!
I think they did a good job

If the rythm continues, the Fusion will be refreshed In the next three years
This is a great car in midsize segment.
This is what happens when Europeans get involved they make amazing cars like the fusion. End of story
completely unrelated to the video, but will you guys be covering the model 3 event at the end of the month?
Sharp car in white. Love the wheels
Trust me cup holder location change was a must

I don't think they will ever get rid of the keyless entry.
Beautiful car!
The sport model's trim makes the fusion look like a fiesta
Really good quality video...
This or the 2017 MKZ will for SURE be my next car

315 HP 375 ft pounds
325 hp 350 ft pounds
330 hp 350 ft pounds
400 hp 390 ft pounds

Ponygt 662
Are you talking an aftermarket tune, or is there a 400hp version of this engine that Ford already uses in something?
goatmonkey2112
Yes its a factory tune, but Ford dosent provide this for any car currently dont know why, some say its reserved for some Lincoln model,
There is lot of such tunes like the GT350 top internals with 5.0 v8 making 532 hp and 450 ft pounds which is stable for 240000 milles but dont know why Ford is reserving these tunes
Another tune is the 3.5 TT EB v6s 450 hp and 500 ft pounds tune, and thats probably coming for the upcoming 2017 Raptor with 10 speed
+Ponygt 662 how safe are these tunes
thuglifezeem716
I dunno about safety of tunes, but all these tunes are stable means all these tunes can be worth 5 years or 240000 kms warranty
The 2015 radio looks a hell of a lot better
My attraction to the Fusion is the fuel efficient Hybrid. What are the updates with the Hybrid and Energi Models?
damn I just got the 13 and you mean to tell me they already have the 17 model out already ??? oh well ,,,, man I'm loving the head lights on the 17 model .
+Lakeshia McGee yeah, it's coming out this summer. i'd like the platinum trim level, but that's a little on the high side for me...
+Focus On the Focus How much will this Platinum model be on the market for ? maybe I can afford it 3yers from now .
Ok, so not quite EVERYTHING I wanted to know.
young man, when you speak to someone, you should look them in the eyes instead of away.
+abz124816 My thoughts exactly. Rather surprising for a marketing manager to look away from a member of the press corps. My son is about 3 1/2 years old and even he knows to look at me when I'm speaking to him.
nice one Finally they came back with V6 in mid-size sedan , GM and Hyundai/Kia should do the same
That's part of the reason me and some friends chose the 200. For the V6
+Michael M hahaha i have a 200 V6 also
accord has a nice 3.5 v6
+LAC32Griffin but it got a shitty auto Transmission tho!
Honda uses a cvt in the accord?
Fusion Sport sounds interesting. EPA estimates are not impressive, though. This manager says nothing like it on the market. Oops - except for Audi, BMW, Volvo...
Everyone's gonna have a fast car now lol
the real question is how will this compare to others in fuel efficiency
Everything you want to know, except the most important thing: WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE?!?
I really like this car
They hit a home run with the Fusion. Great looking car. Still prefer my Fiesta ST, however.
No way...You're kidding me. I'm not making a comparison...when looking for a new Ford, I considered the Fusion. As it would have made for a practical choice. However, I went with the FiST for the fun factor. This little beaST is a blast. Thank you.
I'd take your ST that's a fun car! But the Fusion sport seems fun!
Dang. Three minuted into the video and all he has talked about is the cup holders and the engine? If I had him for a car salesman I wouldn't have looked twice at a Fusion. Who is he related to to get the Director of Marketing job? Henry's great- great grandson?
good job guys
And then there is the somewhat forgotten Taurus in the background. Sigh...
LOL I have never knocked into my cup when shifting. Must be big gulps.
Wish they had a sport when I got the Titanium in 2014.
The 2.7t Sport is going to be interesting indeed and I can't wait to see what the performance numbers look like. I also wonder if the version of this engine in the Fusion Sport has the CGI block like it does in the F150. If so, that's even better.
+SirtubalotTX Going to haul ass with a tune that's for sure
Look at my channel
question is when will the exterior updates cary over to the European version (Mondeo) if they even will
outside i hate that grille but knob shift is also to low. the 200 feel perfect in its placement.
I agree about the shift knob.
this car has just become a sleeper, stock camaros watch out, and I'm a Chevy fan but I love all american cars
Its made in mexico
+Barry Raymond And what's the problem with that? Those cars are made by robots and machines, is not like is made by a mexican in a garage with his family, fucking racist!
+Barry Raymond I'm hispanic too!
Who we are doesn't matter.
wonder what the MPG will be. probably like 3-4 more city/highway than f150 2.7
Roman, you go-getter you!
So nice!
I swear....every time I hear that intro music I keep waiting for the "HYEAHHH" like in Liza Koshy's videos lol
Hey TFLC Could you guys do a Overview of the 400hp Lincoln Mkz?
When are you guys going to review the Fusion Sport?
Ford Fusion and Ford Escape Com here Sales in Thailand, please.

Wade Jackson uses the term "re-imagine" too much. If you want to sell more Eco-boost Mustangs, replace the 310 hp 2.3 L with the 325 hp 2.7L .
+cadsux
yup, I feel the 2.3L is just slightly lacking in power for the weight of the current mustang.
+cadsux
It would suck to be driving your mustang and get beat by this fusion.
What about the driving position that was slightly off? Is it fixed with the 2017? Ty
it's not same or lower pricing,I priced out a mostly loaded 2017 Fusion Sport on the Ford website today. I like the car but,you could get a Taurus Sho for what this thing costs.
Was this the Oxford white or the white platinum tricoat? Hard to tell.
is the trunk size same? this is a very good option for mid sized people like me xD
I wish this thing had a DCT or ZF 8 Speed gear box.
Although the Fusion AWD is a great deal everyday.
The aesthetics remind me of the k900. Not in a bad way.
+Calvin Pollard Agreed!
+Calvin Pollard it looks like the new genesis g90 in the front
Audi A3 DRL's. Still looks sexy
audi's led signature headlights
+RicboAnti eh its nothing compared to thier copy of the Back LED's of the Jaguar.
+Avion Smith its a shame
Anyway has driven Fusion AWD ? Is it any good ?
Great vid btw
I see a whole lot of Tesla Model S in this car more than Aston Martin or Jaguar.
+Shawn Meadows
Thats what makes Ford special, you can have a car that resembles a whole lot of premium cars, and above all she drives great, true its not Mazda 6 sharp but its way way way way better than boring accords, camrys, maximas, hyundais and KIAs
Also powerful, the 2.7 TT AWD is gonna rock
its a mondeo. and why don't the uk get that 4x4 option. if we had more choice id love a 2.2 or 3.2 tdci estate 4x4 with a little more ride height. perfect family car.... id buy one
which is the best diesel mid size sedan?
