    I've had my Toyota Corolla 2010 LE S for 9 years and it has never disappointed me in having any issues. I have 127,000 miles and yes this car will easily get to 200,000 and probably 300,000. All I have to do is the basic maintenance. Toyota's reliability is the best in all classes.

      Mine has 111k and still runs like new. I've had it for 6 months but I only gave $450 for the car itself, about a grand in it after replacing the parts on the front end. That was a steal, in my opinion.

      @Artkreator 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm about to buy one from a private party with the same price, $5500. It has 104,000 miles on it and it still runs like a champ. Only flaw is the roof paint starting to fade, but that is nothing I am worried about. I am seeing it going for another 100k+ miles.

    • @claire6358
      @claire6358 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@Craylor Sorry for replying 7 months late lmao. It had about 124k miles on it, I've put almost 10k on it myself and it's held up great! I haven't had to do any major work on it, just basic maintenance. It gets fantastic mileage and it's never cost more than about $28 to fill the tank from empty. The only thing I need to do for it is to take care of the worn paint on the roof, but other than that it's perfect!

    I have a 2010 with 57k miles. Purchased it in 2019 with 30K. Terrific car! My only complaint would be the archaic automatic transmission. Trying to get this thing going from 35 MPH on an on-ramp onto an expressway can be daunting at times. The car struggles in overdrive and if you hit the gas harder it clunks down, hard, to a lower gear. Other than that the car is great! I love its simplicity and reliability. I don't want infotainment screens, bluetooth this and wi-fi that; it's just more things that can break down over time.

    The hooks on your windows are for suits. A lot of people really don't want to get their suits to be crumpled and they don't want them to get dirty (you don't really throw suits into the washing machine) so they hook them up on the window.

    Great video/review thanks. Your car is nice! I've been eyeing this same model/year. Just need solid practical, affordable (yet reasonably attractive) transportation. I was surprised/impressed that a 2010 had an aux input. I was under the impression that anything older than 2012 wouldn't have that. Cool to know you got a good deal at a CarMax since they tend to be a bit higher priced. (The French fry holder lol. Who'da thunk it) 😁🍟

    I have a 2010 Corolla LE in silver like yours. All of us have different opinions about things including. Mine has the same equipment as yours but I don't consider mine to be basic by any means. It had any many options and more than any car I've owned before. The plastics and seat cloth ate very good quality. My car has 128,000 miles and shows very little interior wear. The seat fabric still looks as good as new. Carpet is very clean and in great shape. People usually drive cars they can afford. Toyotas have very good built quality and extremely reliable. So why apologize for your. A car like yours is very nice and please continue to drive it. It still has years of life left in it. Cars are too expensive to think of buying a car that's newer with a lot more equipment. There's are lot of those new options you can easily live without. A lot of people think they must have keyless start, navigation, lane departure, backup camera and leather seats. In my opinion I'd rather not have all that nonsense gadgets.They are just more things to break and cost a lot to repair or replace. Your Corolla has served you well and will continue to run trouble free for a long time to come. Sorry but these cars are far from basic. If I had the time I'd tell you all about basic. I'm 67 years old. Cars were not always like they are now. How about a new Chevy in the 1960s with a plain body, a base low power engine, manual transmission and 4 wheels with cheap tires. Nothing else but it still got us from point A to point B for a small price of around $2,500.00 dollars brand new from a new Chevy dealer's lot. Now that's basic but most of didn't know the difference back then.

Easy to change the oil.Easy to change sparkplugs.A new alternator and serpentine belt you can instal in one hour easily. They are good cars. You mentioned that the cloth interior is cheap cloth but actually that material is of good quality and shampooing the cloth seats makes them look like new. Try doing that on, for example, some GM vehicles. Good reliability, good gas mileage.Hard to fault the Corolla. It is the best selling vehicle in the world.

It is the best little car ever with 78,000 miles on it. The only (so far) money I have had to put into it is the regular maintenance....and rear brakes. I have the oil changed regularly and brakes check at that time. I just love this car and have had someone recently at a gas station (worker) offer to buy it and many comments such as NICE RIDE. It is a beautiful red color that most people love and comment on. I expect this little gem will be with me for the duration! On the button that says AM-SAT, SAT is XM Satellite which you can purchase a subscription for which is optional. On some higher trim levels 2010 and newer, they did have radio buttons on the steering wheel. Toyota introduced a touch screen in 2013, and in 2014 it's new Etunes system which is also on the cheap base model L, but that one doesn't have XM Radio or Scout GPS. You'll need Etunes Plus which also adds Apple Siri Voice commands and hands free phone with buttons on the steering wheel. It still has a CD player, AM, FM, AUX, USB and Bluetooth. Etunes premium adds connected navigation and app suite. Also, the base model is the only one that doesn't have keyless entry. Push to Start is optional on SE & LE. Unfortunately, still no Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The digital clock is at top seperate from the touch screen.

  • @davinp

    Wow, $13,000 for the LE and that isn't the cheapest model. The cheapest back then was the CE. Looks like the passenger door is a little darker then the driver's door. Its the most popular selling car, celebrating it's 50th-anniversary last year. I see at least 6 Corolla's on my street. I got a 2018 Corolla SE with Smart Key/Push to Start, previously drove a 03 Camry SE. There are grooves on the door handle you touch to unlock it. Corolla still uses a regular digital clock, which is on top of the touch screen between the air vents. I have buttons on the steering wheel for handless phone and radio. In my new Corolla, it's missing the pocket on the driver's seat and they removed those cheap rear cup holders, but cup holders are on the folding part in the middle. I don't know if yours has it, but mine has a cabin air filter behind the glove box, but I have to remove the glove box to access it.

    I’m thinking about getting a Corolla from this generation when I go off to college later this year. My internship is a bit far away from the college and as much as I love my 99 Tahoe, it’s not a very good commuter car. These Corollas are the DEFINITION of reliability. (By the way, the reason the center vents don’t have a block off door on them is to avoid putting too much strain on the blower motor, if all were closed)

      The acceleration is the fly by wire throttle control tuned for economy. You can get a multi function throttle controller,which,besides a cone filter, is the only bolt on performance part these things have lol. Luckily,they do make body kits and lowering springs, but Ohio snow is definitely a big deterrent from that,unfortunately

    One thing I never understood with lower tier cars - all of those window regulators are electronically controlled, so why bother with only having one with an auto-down function - not even an auto-up as well? All four are fully capable of being fully automatic, it’s just software!

    • @PretentiousBrownie

      Lmao, no, that’s not why at all! All the cars I own have fully automatic windows, and they simply retract the windows if something is caught in them. Take my A6, if I were to roll up the windows, and a passenger’s arm were resting on it, the window would stop and retract to prevent the window from squeezing the passenger’s arm. It’s probably just a bump sensor and weight sensor detecting if there’s too much weight on the window, or detecting if it hits the top.

    I just bought this car... used. It's my very first car and I'm just learning how to drive so, so far I'm happy with it; but I do have to take it back to the dealer to be serviced because twice since I've bought it a couple of weeks ago it wouldn't start. like my key wouldn't turn once I put it into the ignition. so there may be a problem with the starter. but other than that I have no real complaints I was a little bit confused about how the air works but other than that I am happy with it I just know once I trade up after my credit is looking better to get a newer model car with less miles and better gas mileage also.

    The 2009 & 2010 Toyota Corolla's were built with a defective ECU Electric Steering Module. It made the vehicle wonder & difficult to control at highway speeds. Toyota even admitted that the steering was defective, yet failed to issue a recall. Eventually the NHTSA stepped in & ordered Toyota to issue a recall to replace the ECU Module, but Toyota failed to comply & were heavily fined by the NHTSA in 2015. If you still own this vehicle, take it to a Toyota Dealership & have them fix it for free. There should still be an open technical service bulletin for this Year/Make/Model.
