    Drove one of these for over 7 years, took it from CA to NC over 5 times, and it survived. I'm looking at getting a 2021 Impreza hatch in the next 2 months. That corolla might not have all of the creature features, but it has everything one would need in a dependable package.

    A Corolla is a perfect road warrior car. When I was a contractor I drove my 2010 and its predecessor, my 2007, all over NJ, SE PA and No. Delaware. Both Corollas saved me on gas and is very comfortable. "Dark Shadows" now has almost 120k miles with no issues!

    I LOVE my 2010 Corolla LE, in dark grey. I have owned it since 2015. 110,500 miles and still going strong. I call my Corolla "Dark Shadows", as in the horror TV soap opera.

    Had a 2015 dodge charger hemi AWD R/T rented. Couldn't wait to take it back. Had a 2013 Corolla LE rented & I thought it was the most perfect thing I'd ever driven until I drove a 2014 Corolla S.

    My tank of a Volvo 2002 s60 started falling apart, I looked for an older car to avoid the CVT transmission. Ended up finding a 2010 Corolla S. I was on a budget and this car seems very reliable 35.2 mpg doesn't burn a drop of oil 95,000 when I got it, now 103,000.

  • @thewaragainstcars

    That brake pedal feel of pressing it down too far is most likely because the rear brakes need adjustment; I had that problem with mine. I have a 2010 with almost 80K. Car's got a great ride (for a budget car) and is very reliable. The cars got enough speed to get around town and acceleration is generally good accept when you're negotiating one of those old cloverleaf interchanges. Man, the car is a dog from 15-20 trying to get up to 60-65. The transmission hates downshifting. These years do have some issues so care for them. Very comfortable seats too if you have back issues.

      Mine did that too on me and it never went back up. Just started dropping from around 38 down to 36. Tire pressure is kept up.
      I changed something in my dash and had to disconnect the instrument panel without disconnecting the battery, and it went down further after that, to 34-35.
      But it's been running fine for 10s of thousands of miles and still gets 34-35 mpg so I think it may have just been a computer accuracy thing.

      @@HAL-dm1ehclean your throttle body with some Permatex throttle body cleaner. It's a Toyota part sold at dealerships. Also check your PCV or replace it if needed. Make sure to not douse your MAF because some mechanics aren't too careful and might end up ruining your mass air flow sensor. Other than that replace your fuel filter or use some fuel system cleaner but don't go over board with the additives.

    It looks nice, but it is a car from 2010, and that is 12 years old. Cars that old normally get crushed at wrecking yards, or they used to be in the past as everyone wants a new car that is not more than 3 years old, to impress their friends.

    • @teresapflaumer5717
      @teresapflaumer5717 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      There are tons of older (pre-2015) Corollas, Civics, Camrys, and Accords on the roads of New Jersey. I don't see that many people shopping for new cars like in the past due to inflated costs, the chip shortage, CVT transmission, too much technology in the cars, bigger cars consuming too much gas, and so on. Now I used to keep a car 5 years then replace it with a brand new one. But I paid off my 2010 Corolla LE last year and it has 110K miles on it, no issues. In Jersey, my car would sell for over $8000 (yea, sellers' market). I plan to keep mine for a loooooong time. However, if I choose to get a newer car, the 2019 RAV 4 suits me fine (although I am not a fan of CVT and I can't drive stick).
