    I have one of this myself, decided to get the AHD cameras for the front and back and have the front triggered with mode like you do. Honestly, AHD cameras look so good with these head units as they support them it’s basically crisp. I find it useful when parking at night at dimly lit places

    Good video. My guess with your reverse is it's not being triggered on the radio. Look for a rev cable on the head unit and the reverse camera retention harness should have an RCA and a signal cable that triggering the reverse on the radio. From looking at you crimping the harness I'd say do the touch test with the bare wire while the car is in reverse, also do it while the car is on some cars are weird like that. Or try an alternative reverse trigger to the head unit.

    Nice I want to upgrade my radio too but there's like 5 in ebay that I don't know how would they perform

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The ones you see on eBay and Amazon, they are a decent radio, because that’s what I had before. But they don’t come with all the extra features and things you would want. Like Apple CarPlay/ or android auto. Many times they are very low grade processors, and tend to be slower when loading apps.Also this one works with steering wheel controls. Not many of the cheap ones do.
      While the idoing is a higher end radio, with better displays and internals, that make it worth the extra price.

    How did you get the steering wheel control to work if your car didn't have it from the factory

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I swapped out the steering wheel, I also swapped out the clock spring, which gives the controls able to work. But if you had a stock radio, those wires go to nothing, but when you upgrade the radio to one that supports the steering wheel controls, they should work without and splicing to the factory harness.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly there have been several people ask about this. But from what I hear is they usually don’t connect the factory amp.
      And especially if you plan on adding subs, you are most likely going to get another amp, to supply the power for the sub, because the factory amp wouldn’t be able to power it good.
      But I’m not sure if connecting those wires would short anything out. It seems more like a bypass.If it shorts the radio, it most likely will just blow a fuse or something.

    Hey Brandon! I just got mine for my Toyota Corolla LE 2013 and everything works great but not my steering wheel buttons, do you know what could I do to get it to work?
    Thank you!

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว

      There should be a setting called SWC, for the steering wheel controls. This should allow you to hook up the controls from the steering wheel to the controls of the radio by learning each button.

    Does this headunit allow you to use the cars factory amplifier after you install it? I installed a Kenwood DDX2 in my corolla and I lost my factory amplifier clarity in my door speakers, I was gonna install a new amp to make up for it.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m assuming you have the JBL system? Because that’s the only radio I know that comes with some kind of amplifier. Other then that I didn’t have any problems with my speakers. If anything the speakers sound better after I put this radio in. But I don’t have the JBL system.

    • @subnodes
      @subnodes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrandonStellmach all corollas have a factory amplifier for music clarity and stuff, your head unit probably allows you to keep factory amplifier power in your car because that radio looks specifically made for it, normally if you buy the single din or double din stereo just like off best buy for example you won’t be able to retain factory amplifier to your speakers unless you buy a $300 harness for it lmfao, but I like the radio. I have a 2010 S and I’m replacing all my speakers with nice JBL’s and gonna set a taramps on them with a DSP, I’m gonna have to send you the video once I do it because it’s a upgrade worth it in my opinion

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m no audiophile, so I just know enough about it to be dangerous! 😂
      But this radio is pretty much the price of the harness you need!
      But I plan on upgrading my speakers soon too, as well as adding some tweeters too!
      But I would love to see your set up when you done.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว

      The wifi on this unit is only meant to connect to a internet connection. This does put off its own wifi signal. And the wifi adapter is just for a better connection.

    hi, did your old android stereo have steering wheel controls too?, is the steering wheel control an idoing only feature?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On my old stereo, I was only able to get the volume controls to work, but none of the others would work.
      With the new radio it comes with wireless Apple CarPlay. A nicer quality screen, a better amplifier, as well as better internals, which makes it much faster as well!

      Did your steering wheel controls work before the radio?
      Also when you learn the steering wheel controls you need to press and hold the button on the wheel, and then then press the corresponding button on the radio at the same time. I hope this helps!

    I bought a 13 corolla used week ago.. it came with pioneer upgraded radio and it is sucks you cant connect Bluetooth cause it has a full memory and the sub seems not working do u think this radio will solve the problem?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a great upgrade from that pioneer radio. This definitely will fix your Bluetooth problem.
      As for the Sub, it might help. But it’s hard to tell because it might be a blown fuse or a bad connection on the sub.
      But this does have inputs for a sub, so if you wanted to connect another one it will be easy.
