I’ve been running the Pilot Sport A/S 4 tires in 275/40 20 on my 2018 Challenger R/T Scatpack (530 hp crank and 500 p/f of torque) for around 6 months now and they are a superb All Season tire! 😎

Just put them on my 2016 RT. Quiet, comfortable tire. The BFGs I had were noisy when they went on 4 years ago and got worse with age.

In August 2020 I installed a new set of 245/45r18 on my 2013 Acura TL. It is now May 2022. Your review of these tires is comprehensive and I agree with your assessment longer term. They are comfortable for highway driving, generally quiet, perform well driving in the summer going up and down our local California mountains. The sidewall design is clean and elegant which I love.
I’ve rotated these every 5000 miles when I do my oil changes. They have worn evenly and it’s clear the inner block is softer then the middle or outer blocks since my inners have worn faster. The tires now have 31,000 miles, car is aligned perfectly and I am particular about maintenance. I’ve ordered a new set and will install in a few weeks, I like them so much I reordered them.
They include a 45,000 mile warranty but don’t expect to get more than 30,000-35,000 miles on them. Wish they would’ve got me to the 45,000 mile mark.

this is exactly the review I need. I can't believe no one, literally NO ONE, was comparing the comfort between ps4s and ps A/S 4

Just purchased these tires. Your review pretty much sums it up for me as well. I had Sumo HTR AS which was decent enough but nothing compared to 4as. Hoping it wears well in the years to come.

how are the tires holding up?

I went from Michelin primacy to these tires on my 2013 Honda Accord EX-L V6. It went from being unsure to bring very sure footed. It's not the 4s, but I still have good tire life, sufficient grip and stopping improvement, and rides nicely. If I had 19s like the TLX a-spec, then I'd go 4s in the summer, but these are a nice upgrade from stock.

I want these tires for my Lexus IS250. They’re a little expensive but I’ll just save up for it as my tires now are still Mostly there. 6 years old so I will sure change them by the end of this year. Lovely review btw.

I just installed these PS AS4 on my bmw 330ci and I loved the comfort and how quiet they were, they are soft and squishy.
unfortunately however, i noticed a substantial loss of steering feel. I love feeling my steering light and precise, so only for this reason I will exchange them for the 4S. Otherwise, if you dont drive spirited, and dont mind a little numbness on the steering, then these are among the best.

Man this is my experience as well. The things stick like glue but the handling is waay too soft and vague. I came from Goodyear eagle all season sport and while the goodyears might not stick to the same level, the driving experience (ie handling/sportiness) of the goodyears was so much better than the Michelins. Just my 2 cents

I bought the same to replace the OEM Pirellis on my 2016 Audi S7 (265/35-20). Understandably, they are a fair bit "squishier" in the corners than the dedicated summer-only tires but they give way in a predictable manner so it is completely satisfactory. The hope is that these will do as well, if not better, than the Continental DWS 06+ that I have been previously running on my prior winter ski machine, a 2012 BMW X5 Diesel which we do still own BTW so I WILL be able to do an apples to oranges comparison between the capabilities of these vs. those.

How did these compare to the DWS 06+?

  • @JacesOwnWorld

Not sure if you have used the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+'s, but I have on both my E46 M3 and MK7 GTI. Its a really good gripping tire for an all-season tire. Yes, the PSS's I've had before grips better, but the A/s 3+'s are pretty dang good! They are not great in the snow though, which is its downfall.
After watching and reading some reviews of the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4's, they seem to do a lot better than the A/S 3+'s in the snow, something that is of importance to me. They actually have been tested to do better than the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06's in the snow, of which I have used in my GTI and have been incredibly impressed with for their snow performance. They are so good that they were almost as good as dedicated winter tires, but they did lack in dry performance due to their softer compound.
My question to you is, have you tried the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+'s? The Pilot Sport All Season 4's are what have replaced that tire, so I am curious if you have driven on them. If so, how do those compare to the 4's?
I am looking to get the 4's, but not sure if I should bite the bullet and spend the amount of money on them, as they are priced pretty high. Almost as high as Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's!

Hey, Jace, Michael here from the IB Team, I work with Pouria, who made this review. I'm answering because I have experience on the PS4S, AS3+ and AS4 tires... although to be clear, none of this involves snow driving.
According to Michelin, the AS4 improves over the AS3+ with 4% better dry braking, 5% better wet braking, and 10% more snow traction.
In my testing, the tires feel very similar. They're both very good tires, especially for All Seasons. Yes the AS4 is better, but not enough in many cases to recommend the upgrade until it's time to replace your current tires.
That said, and unfortunately, I can't speak to this with personal experience bc I'm in Southern California, if snow driving is important to you, you might want to consider it. You could always put the AS3+ tires back on to use them up when spring comes. Keep in mind, though, that AS4 tires are NOT true winter tires, even though they are very capable, so please be safe if you do purchase them and decided to drive in the snow. Cheers.

They're the replacement for as3, they're great tires I just got a set I think you're going to enjoy them. I don't have a powerful vehicle but if I did I'm sure they would handle all conditions well. They're fairly quiet and tacky a very nice ride quality 👌👍

Buy them at Costco you'll probably have to order them in person vs online

I have A/S 3+ on my 325hp Volvo XC70 T6 Polestar and they are great except in icy snowy winter. One may want more grip in extreme weather conditions to accommodate the hp for peace of mind..
I also have CrossClimate+ / CrossCliamte SUV on a Saab 9-3 Aero and a Mercedes GLE. That seems to be all round tires that perform pretty well in all weather conditions. After researching on TH-cam and my personal experience, I would say CrossClimate+ could be the only set of tire you need. Downside of that model is it comes in limited sizes and is not categorized as performance tires.
Seeing this All Seanson 4 is original equipment tire on Corvette, I'm interested in getting this for my coming Mercedes E400 Coupe. But I'm not sure in winter time if this could serve as well as CrossClimate+ to save the extra cost on a winter tire and wheel package. Any comments?

@Gregory Tolson I'm not sure you need the 4S for that particular application unless you plan on really extreme cornering and braking.
I have a set of All Season 4s on a 2013 Cadillac ATS 3.6 and it drives like a dream and corners really well on the AS4.
For my Mustang with 444hp, however, it's the full 4S or bust.
      Hope that helps.

I'm in So cal and drive an Acura 19 TLX A Spec and can't decide between 4AS or 4S? Is the 4s worth the lower warranty and lack of grip in rain? probably not on my vehicle I'd imagine.

    • @internetbrandsautogroup3826
      @internetbrandsautogroup3826  ปีที่แล้ว

I have both tires... you'd be fine with either, but I'd go with the All Season variant for your ride.
The PS4S isn't bad in the wet, mind you, it's not the Cup 2s, which are dangerous in the rain. But the AS4 is a touch better.
I run the All Season 4 on my wife's Cadillac ATS -- handles like a dream. CHeers.

Your tires were installed inside out. The side with minimal writing and tire size should be on the inside of the vehicle. The only visible outside part is literally michellin badge.

Bro, you need to get your glasses checked or tick the box marked 1080p HD. Michelin literally puts the words OUTSIDE on the proper side of the tire, which you can see in the thumbnail AND the 51-second mark, among others.

Michelin knows us sport guys like a clean smooth outer sidewall, which is why it's like that. Not to mention it clearly says 'outside' like the author pointed out. No body wants that cluttered outer sidewall.

The Michelin pilot sport 4 all season that is sold to the
public is not the same as the one in the corvette, they
are totally different tires and the oem corvette tires
are only available in 245/35R19 and 305/30R20 they
are runflats and capable of 1g plus cornering even the
tread compound and design are different..
