Initially I wasn't sure about this as it's like a diffuser on top of another diffuser... But after looking at it for a bit I think this is the best looking option for this car. I can imagine this would look killer in carbon fiber.
TheShaddix I purchased it because I liked how the diffuses lines matched up with the OEM ones. Also it's just not my preference for the big aggressive ones. I don't like how thin the metal looks. This was a straightforward install and I'm still liking my choice.
TheShaddix I just searched on Google at some different websites. I think I found it 20 dollars cheaper than subispeed with free shipping. Its was just some random site.
Hi again. I used your AOS guide. Now using this guide lol.Hilarious that I've used both. Gained a sub 🤘. Also I got this from a shop thats HT Auto "style' diffuser so the hardware provided was different. Like the metal plate has screw holes on the ends instead of the middle like yours. O well I'll figure it out. Cheers
That will also create drag.the design of that will allow airflow to travel inside the small gap,the that edges that are designed way up,will block the airflow pushing out.yes the airflow will also travel underneath which were supposedly but since you can see that gap from inside (from the wheel apartment),airflow will guarantee travel there too.and if you lower your car or atleast hit on something with this, the alignment of each bolts/clips will dissaligned or might break too, leaving u a broken bumper holes.the OEM diffuser really a UNDER SPOILER and not a diffuser.its purpose is to feed more air to the stock diffuser of the bumper and its attached to the bumper frame bar,so if you hit something you won't messing up anything but just the diffuser itself alone.
WRX SNOWBOARDER yeah bro just sharing u some tips. Get the maxton rear spats for a cleaner look on your rear too and not that htauto spats that you cut.check mine "Khan T. Tutero"
I love your taste man so many things I'm gonna do to my red 18 limited when it's here in a couple more weeks and I'll be re-watching a bunch of your vids for help! Take care, can't wait for the next mod!
Donald Johnson Thanks. I enjoy making videos to help anyone else out who's interested in doing the mod for thier own car. I also enjoy seeing the progression of my own.
Baby WREX no this not worth it to match your USDM rear spats and JDM exhaust finisher.get the OEM diffuser that connects to the bumper frame bar.it wont break compare to this kind of just screwed in to the bumper and 2 screwed unto the underneath spair wheel apartment.the OEM will also gives you a lowered look on the rear that will perfectly match your exhaust finisher color. Told u check my facebook so you'll see my setup on my 2018 sti. Khan T. Tutero
Baby WREX it will also won't allow you to fit this with your JDM exhaust finishers.that spot on where this have to screw in,the finisher is to low that block the diffuser to sit flush on those 2 spots.unless you cut your finishers on that spot or get the carbon fiber one.just check my fb so you can check my setup and you won't made a mistake again just like a mistake getting that maxton diffuser.😅
I know this is an old video but how is the diffuser holding so far? Just like you, I don’t like the aggressive or non aggressive with metal fins out there. I think this diffuser will really looks good to my DGM WRX Limited.
It's still holding up really well without any issue. Since the install, I actually had sanded it down smooth and repainted with with some black gloss automotive paint.
Check my rear end setup of my 2018 sti. Got all the OEM & JDM on it. My JDM spats with maxton rear spats looks cleaner fitment than the one you cut here (ht-auto spats) check mine so you might copy the same i have.i drilled 4 holes on it and put clips.snug fit. Check me on FB..... Khan T. Tutero
There from ebay. I cut them for a custom fit with a dremel. I just used a few self tapping screws to make it fit. th-cam.com/video/8U8TzCknloo/w-d-xo.html
The pop clips came with the diffuser and I had just matched a drill bit end the same size as the clip. I dont remember what size it was but I can say that if you have a drill bit set it's really easy to figure out.
@@JustinAboloff www.smyperformance.com/ht-autos-rear-diffuser-2015-wrx-sti.html I had spray painted it with a gloss black paint before I installed it. Since then I've actually sanded the whole thing down till it was smooth and painted it with some automotive paint out of a spray gun.

TheShaddix yooo.. so burnz auto just came out with this sometime ago, a full CF version of the HT Autos rear diffuser... been considering it.

HoeLeeFuQQ Yeah I thought the sub thing was kind of dumb. Good luck with your channel as well.

Thanks. I'm liking the looks of it.

What drill bit is needed? Thanks
It's a rubber grommet so all you have to do is just poke a hole in it. Drilling it out isn't needed.

Looks good, be even better if you got it painted to match car color
Naw.... keep it black.
Which rear spats are those? And was it a lot of work to make it fit over the jdm splash guards?

@@WRXSNOWBOARDER thanks for the quick reply!
did you paint the lower plastic piece of the bumper? it looks darker than the factory color
Silvio Attanasio Its spray painted gloss black. The same as the lip, side skirts and spats.
man I wish I had the spray painting skills to do it lol I feel like I would mess it up and get blobs
@@silvioattanasio1155 The trick is the stand back and do 6-8 light coats. Most people will do one light coat then 2-3 heavy ones.
What size holes did you drill for the screw-pop clips? And what size clips?
