Add some good suspension mods, brakes and a driver with knowledge of the track and you keep ahead of an E92 M3. I currently own an 850. And of course, it's probably not stock. It does look like it's an 850R though. Stock, those things did 0-60 in 6.2 and were the fastest wagons you could get when they came out.
22fret This is a blue brick. "R"'s never produced in blue. Cant see what is under the bonnet, but I'm pretty sure this is a normal T5 with 210hp, or maybe tuned up around 280hp, and a rear spoiler attached. And if I'm right, that Volvo runs on Columa wheels... so it is definetely not an "R".
The 850's are great cars. I had a non turbo'd 2.5 litre 5 cylinder 20 valve one with an auto box and loved it! Front wheel drive wasn't so bad. Quite by serendipity I have come to own a '97 Volvo 850 GLT wagon with less than half the engine. First thing I noticed was how the spark plugs go into the tops of the 5 cylinders like a hemi. Vaughn Carnaffan You can clearly see, the first 911 is a 997 model and the second one is a 996 model, plus different colors.
heros2110 The first is a 991 and the second is a 996.
Agreed, there two different Porsches mate, first one looks like it's driven by an office waller doing a few laps in his dinner hour, second Porsche is driven by a guy who was takin no prisoners!!! volvo gave some stick though and m3 kept up easily both driven very well and with what looks like previous berg experience might I add!!!
Love trailer hook !
Super video. That Volvo is badass!! You would swear it was a brand new sports car by the way it performed. Wagons Rock!!
+Carmicha3l Didn't know that. That explains it.
Carmicha3l Not entirely true. The R-engine TUNING was co-developed with Porsche. So was the transmission. The engine itself was entirely Volvo.
Imagine the mothers driven that Volvo to the store to get milk for the kids
The moment the Volvo driver recalls he needs to be on Hornsgatan by 5 tomorrow night to visit his mormor but he's some couple thousands kilometers away.
🤣🤣
I died XD
Pretty quick for a hearse.
T5 .. always loved that engine :)
Seen many mothers out there with these same pro wagon driving skills..
The volvo pulls away almost every time. :D
wow go volvo!
At 5:20 we lost a minute of footage due to M3 interference..reasons for this phenomenon are still unknown
What's most impressive with this, is the fact that the Volvo had an antique wardrobe in the boot. 😁
I love the 850, I had one myself. It's a great car, but this one here is definitely not stock... ;-)
I currently own an 850. And of course, it's probably not stock. It does look like it's an 850R though. Stock, those things did 0-60 in 6.2 and were the fastest wagons you could get when they came out.
I'd even say, a highly modified 850R...
22fret
This is a blue brick. "R"'s never produced in blue.
Cant see what is under the bonnet, but I'm pretty sure this is a normal T5 with 210hp, or maybe tuned up around 280hp, and a rear spoiler attached. And if I'm right, that Volvo runs on Columa wheels... so it is definetely not an "R".
i seen 850r in liteblue for sale in australia
The 850's are great cars. I had a non turbo'd 2.5 litre 5 cylinder 20 valve one with an auto box and loved it! Front wheel drive wasn't so bad. Before that i had a 740 with the 2.3 litre 4 cylinder with the garrot S3 turbo on it and the "ET" camb (the fast one) 195bhp from the factory and the last of the rear wheel drive volvo's still an auto unfortunately but a propper "sleeper" all the same, i loved that one! Now i've an S60s 1.9 tdi still quite quick though. I think i'm right in saying the 850 T5r was the fastest estate car in the world at one point!
This is why I drive a Volvo R wagon, 28 mpg, with my dog in the back and can hold water with E92. Dang, my dog just threw up 😞
I think you need to take some lessons from the guy in The brick the worst part is about it is he just embarrassed you and he's in a station wagon love my bricks
i freakin loved at the end when the volvo was like. ight time to cool off the brakes and engine and just chill till the exit and the BMW was like, finally my time to shine i'm overtaking, been waiting the whole lap 😂
Had a 760 Turbo as my first car. I loved that thing. Should have held on to it.
going up in value, so yes, you should have kept it.
I have the 850r, with stage 2 ship installed and custom pipes., only 92k miles on it. and people are willing to pay good money, even when they know I have tune it.
The best ever Wagon ..
Look at this Porsche guy thinking hes faster than he actually is
its not just wagon and cute family car
I have always owned American V-8s and had no conception of otherwise. The most recent was a '96 Buick Roadmaster with the 5.7L engine. Quite by serendipity I have come to own a '97 Volvo 850 GLT wagon with less than half the engine. First thing I noticed was how the spark plugs go into the tops of the 5 cylinders like a hemi.
This car is freaking badass and has surprised more than a few people who unwisely chose to challenge her!
