Current market value of Karlov is less than what distro wants to sell them for so they want Rudy to pay way more than current listings online. It’s not that hard to figure out.
He doesn't talk about his buys until opportunity is over. In other words, it's time to buy karlov manor and anything else that has dropped.

I bought about 60 boxes around January 4th for slightly under $60. Expected value is over $90. You have Triome lands shredder all about $10 the. There’s another 8-10 around $5. Opportunities everywhere right now.

@@NeverDauntedRadioNetwork that’s not the goal. Goal is to make money and enjoy life. Goal accomplished. I invest in many different things I just happen to enjoy tcg investing. I do have a house worth over a million and a boat but I didn’t buy that with tcg money. Well the boat I did. 😜
There's a big difference between what people are asking and what people are paying. Lot of sellers out there are willing set an inflated price that won't move and we call that the market simply because everyone has moved on and the product isn't selling and the few sellers left are trying to make up their loss of sales with an inflated price instead.
Last time you mentioned one of these dirty distributor deals was when they were trying to get you to take on all the excess Baldur's Gate boxes in return for access for more Double Masters 2022 boxes. Not saying Karlov is Baldur's, but I don't think that deal turned out too bad.
Definitely wish I could have afforded to buy a couple boxes from you. Saving my money for Sorcery though, it's too good to pass up.
Nobody should be surprised that LOTR SE is up, just like nobody should be surprised when MKM Collector moves back up to 180-200. As supply is reduced and demand stays the same or increases, then prices will go up. If there are good, playable cards in these set releases then the price will reflect that at some point.
The biggest issue pertaining to why market confidence and public opinion doesn't necessarily reflect an accurate represention of conditions is this : The loudest voices aren't generally the same voices that indicate a mindful analysis of any given situation. Plenty of voices regularly chime in, but those that wait instead of making kneejerk emotional reactions, are not quick to offer opinions, as it demonstrates a state of carelessness and wallowing in emotional reaction as opposed to paying attention specifically to data (and often in this case of mtg, quality of product.)
In short : negative news and emotionally driven reactions spread multiple times as fast as good news or patient analysis.
The reason why prices are rising despite influencers saying everything is bad is that no one has 20 million subscribers. The most is 1 million. So 90% of people in the hobby are not engaging with influencers. They're just buying what they like and they have no idea "everything is bad"

Markets move together. People are stepping out of fear now that the Dow and S&P are up. So the sets with real value are starting to move up because people are being less frugal with there money as the sentiment of doom and gloom moves to quickly to euphoria.

I LITERALLY asked myself this. People say how hobbies are down yet people fontinue to buy. Explain to me why Obsidian Flames (Pokemon enthusiast) is 100 a box if its THAT bad. Should be the lowest if its sooo bad lol.
If my dad had 3 or 4 sick crap cows he had to get rid of he'd add in some decent cows and sell off 10-15 as a package deal. Those sick cows were only ever really good for a bullet, but that way he still made some bank off them.

Hey Rudy! This is actually really common in the stock market. “Bull markets climb a wall of worry”…which means if ppl are worried, they want to buy but haven’t, giving the run more fuel. Imagine 5 ppl at a table: if all 5 agree a mtg set (or stock) is bad, they dump it. But now that everyone dumped the stock, who is left to sell? With no more sellers, and the normal amount of demand, prices have to go up bc there are more buyers than sellers now.

With the one ring they brought in a card which is insane powerful, maybe one of the powerfueled cards ever, and the best thing is they NEVER can ban this Card cause its the mainsetcard and the mainthing of the one ring. Also you only can reprint it in a Secret lair or a new lord of the Ring set. Most played card in all meta Decks.
Also people have money again, stock market hits all time highs every week so the money has to go everywhere to Invest

I would say that it is a delay in response due to the other releases happening at the same time. People are seeing the bald in the rear view mirror because they are finally catching up. I see a lot of cards starting to spike now, so it could also just be people are getting over the bear market and starting to spend again.
Maybe because the play boxes are so expensive for so little value and lower the rings and other things have so much value, or at least potential value, so people would rather spend their money and spend a little more of it to get something. That’s way more exciting. Just a thought.

It comes back at the end of the day supply and demand and it’s not rocket science, the lord of the rings product is too good, and not enough for supply and as people keep wanting cards from the set, it’s only going to push prices higher. If they don’t reprint it, $500 collector boxes by the end of the year is not unreasonable

The box price is correcting to reflect the single prices (serialized cards, one ring, bowmasters, ancient tomb, cavern of souls). Also the fact that the IP is popular.
I think part of it is dissatisfaction with new product, which is funny, because despite the weird theme of MKM, there's a lot of good playable cards.

Hi Rudy, so distributor is bundling MKM and Falluot collector boxes together. What would I do if I were you? Sure I would buy those bundles and sell them to patrons at 10% more than I bought them for. Even though I personally am not interested in either of these products. If I could buy and sell them at this volume and make a few bucks and make a few patrons happy and make non-patrons upset, sure! go for it!!
Take the deal but try to get an extra 30 to 40 percent off.

I don't know how many people feel the same as I do, but I am simply not gonna buy anything from Karlov Manor or any other sets in the near-to-hear future. Play boosters are a crap deal. I'm not interested enough to get the CE. Like a wise man once said, not every product is for me.
Honestly I would scrap the deal as a buyer but keep the deal as a seller. Karlov out the door was like 155-160 the other day. Fallout around 300+ out the door isn’t bad. I bet you will make a killing on your fallout now and maybe break even on karlov or you can just sit on more karlov.
Its not confusing about who is buying. Its like the stock market. The people actually involved in it are busy building positions. The people who just watch complain and make excuses and are negative because they arent in it and want it to fail.
