I really wonder just how randomly you can put a single card into a quarter million box release, which will be distributed across the whole world. I have a hunch that Wizards, as they have in the past, will ensure that the lucky crack-a-pack will happen in the USA. I even have a strong suspicion that the one of one ring will be allocated to either a preferred youtuber (sorry, Rudy) or a collaborating company dealing in singles - at a fair black budget price of course.

I feel like a lot of people are treating this set as their "end-game" set, where they just go ham on buying all the shiny special edition product because lotr is the most prestigious fantasy IP out there. This might be the most hyped set release we've ever seen for this game, but I'm worried that we're still only at the beginning for what wotc can charge us and, most importantly, how much we're willing to pay

For you in the USA, just do remember that the Canadian price never moved (Was high first, 550$+tx, it is still the same price at pre release (Still high but static).

It is certainly possible, but some had 12 to 20 bids. That would be unusual for the sold auctions on scammy purchases.

I’m so broke for the month of June. I work at a museum and they’re shutting down from the 19th the 29th for grand reopening 😢. I had to skip pre-release last night. We did just install a huge 20 foot Tiamat D&D statue outside at work, its pretty cool.

Opened a surge Caverns, managed to sell it for $650 and feel blessed to have gotten that.
I like the decks, good themens a little chaotic on the colours but good reprints and good new singles

Prices in Europe are more inflated. 250€ for all 4 Commander Decks. 600 for the collector display. Sick..
Surge foil boxtoppers sound like galaxy foil shock lands. Extremely pretty, extremely rare, extremely useful in formats, narrow product to even get them in. They will Def hold value but if unfinity shocks can drop to $100 to $130 i don't see these holding over $200. The surge foil probably more rare but it's hard to contest how desired shocklands are.
I mean galaxy shocks were 4% odds in a 200$ box. Surge foils are 0,8% chances in a 450$ box (as of right now). With the lotr flavor on top, it's pretty easy to understand why they're so expensive right now!

Just left my LGS that used to rent the convention hall at the local (larger) hotel just to host pre release. There would be vendors against the walls and what seemed like a few hundred players. This was back in the gatecrash, dragons maze era. Tonight, 42 people. I counted. Wasn't this supposed to be one of the bigger ones? Oooooooof. Gl in the trenches.

The pre-season just makes feels like I have to wait to open packs while so much is being opened online by other people. By the time release comes I'm not even excited anymore.

i spend around 110 euros today in my shop for prerelease and a bundle and i drew 1 mythic which was the one ring. i got two 5 euro rares and the rest is CRAP.
worst experience i had since over 20 years of playing magic, i never opened such bad packs in my life- i got 3 mirkwoods bats full art and 3 of the 6 mana sceada sacrifice=food things in 10 set boostes. insane.
