    Three immediate red flags for me with _any_ seller on _any_ website... _single photo, busy background, odd angle with poor lighting._ No way am I buying something for over $1k from a single photo... who knows what the back of that card looks like. And the only time you use a background _that_ busy/messy is if you want to distract from the card in the foreground. We have a tendency to perceive shapes & colours differently when there's a lot of details distracting our eyes - that's why PSA take their photos on a black background. Given this seller has taken all of the cards photos the exact same way, I'm pretty sure they know these are forgeries.

    People might want to start saving and requesting the actual receipts from the cards graded. That would be great proof as well.

      That would be a lot of receipts. Plus, a card may change hands multiple times after grading. This seller may have paid full price on the card and now he’s just trying to recuperate a bit of his loss by selling it for lower than market.

      Mercari has really gone downhill with all the low effort scammers these days. Stay safe out there.

    I always look at the letter G in the word GEM, fakers just can't get it right lol

      weird right? I don't know why if they are going to spend time to fake a product to get it right as close as possible.

    The thing that every fake card gets wrong above everything is the small fonts on the bottom of the card and card code. They struggle to print atr the resolution necessary to correctly copy the whitening around the font and replicated the white spaces. It is always much lower resolutions and looks washed out vs official pokemon

    Just got back into collecting after 20 years. Recently bought a PSA 10 Japanese 151 Charizard AR off Whatnot. Just checked and it looks legit based on the PSA search image, but now I dont wanna buy graded cards anymore. Just figured it was my best bet to get mint cards I want without spending hundreds ripping packs.

    I saw this listing too. I can't believe the seller had multiple of these fake PSA cards. Unfortunately this is something that we have to be more aware of. Fakes are just going to get better and better. It just blows my mind that the people producing the fakes don't bother with the details.

      Exactly. Buy from trusted sources and pay credit - easier to chargeback than debit.
      Years ago a CNET editor reviewed Beats By Dre headphones, new in box and they fooled him, someone who specializes in electronics. A reader noticed when he broke them down that his review copy had a metal piece in the ear for weight that's not in real versions. After the writer admitted he bought them at a mall kiosk.
      Moral of the story is do your due diligence because you never know, some fakes are near identical.

    Wow, yeah, there have been a lot of scams and fakes. I wonder how this is going to affect the overall pricing of pokemon cards going into the future? I've noticed a lot of nonholo fake vintage cards coming from China recently. They seem to have the ability to make pretty high quality fakes.

    PSA needs to create a database to confirm the people who own the cards and who really sell with the data and nickname this way a lot of scum can't have an easy way to fool people

    wouldnt it make sense to do user data base where the new holder pops off when u scan the card as current holder ? i guess this would help a lot to deal with fake psa copys ? what you guys think let me know thanks . *suggestion

    Hi, thanks for your video. But are the Treasure Ex boxes fake? If so, how to recognize them?

    • @lowbudgetpokemon
      @lowbudgetpokemon  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The boxes may not be fake. Im not an expert in sealed products so am unable to comment. I am not sure whether the seller actually knew he was selling fake graded cards or not.
