I love Fallout & Magic soooo much! I play from 94 and collect… I don’t care at all about this cross over because it is soooo random! I am tired of MAGIC random crossovers, and wondering how many are thinking the same. Not sure it will be super successful like LOTR (the “king” of crossovers because it made sense as a crossover jescrist!)

Fallout rules, but there's zero synergy between video game players and card collecting. LOTR I can see how that community had a strong base of collectors and could drive the demand, but not this.

Nah, dude, that isn't right at all. Plenty of card game players play video games. Plenty of video game players play card games. Most players tend to collect to some degree. There is far more overlap here than you seem to think there is.
Given that you have the resources to hold the Karlov until the foreclosure crisis resolves, picking up a package deal w both short and long term potential seems a reasonable strategy.
What if they just kept the print run the same but, allocated stores so they can shift the amount of product through amazon or a special run TCGplayer account.
Pretty disgusting stores are allowed to take pre orders then cancel when the price goes up

I'm very curious how reprints are going to go with them having serialized cards now. Does anyone have insight? Like, you would think if they have say 12 cards that are /500, those 6,000 cards would be in the first run right? What happens if they decide to reprint. Do they just not have serialized cards in reprints or do they add additional cards with /500?
They never reprint. they print a shit load in the beginning and if they need more then they cut the cards from the sheets they have stored and package them. if they dont need them they destroy them.

@@NewRetroGaming collector boxes are different, single batch, one and done. They might throttle the supply to make sure the first wave sells out.

I really don't see any reason to buy any collector boxes since I already ordered the 4 pre cons. The chance at a serialized bobble head? Or Ravages of war? nah, not impressed with serialized cards, if I want any of the other chase cards from the collector boosters, I'll just buy the singles, and still spend less than a collector box.
I hope i can afford a precon :) No idea what individual prices will be, i may get 2 if they are 75 (CAD) each

I'm in for one sealed case. I'm also trying to collect at least one of every card in whatever version they come in. Fallout has been my favorite franchise ever, and I have dedicated one of my arms to it (sleeve tattoo). I'm super stoked for this set.
I got very lucky with my lgs, went in the first day they offered preorders for the set and was able to lock in two boxes at 250 a box, after my order my lgs increased the price to 350 a box, I got a hell of a deal tbh.
You know what i would love? A Red Dwarf MTG commander deck lol. I would love a Jozxyqk card.

This is perfect for collectors and players. You get all the cards by getting all the commander decks so you’re not locked out of any cards. If you’re chasing a pretty art or serial then you go for collectors.
And that is 100 % wrong. The collectordisplays have cards you only can get here like ravage of War.

I pre-ordered the commander deck set from Amazon as soon as they were available. I locked in at a price lower than they are selling it for now. I just want to play with the decks. If my pre-order gets canceled, I'll be a little bummed, but it'll be fine.

Imagine if Marvel flops. 😂 No really, imagine it flops... We all expect it to sell well but if it doesn't, that will almost assuredly kill Universes Beyond for good.
And I think it's possible it flops, for example if they don't do the characters justice, if the art and frames are as lame as Karlov Manor. If they just fail to advertise it enough etc.
Honestly just like how the Final Fantasy set should straight up be one big advertisement for Final Fantasy TCG (just released their 21st core set), the Marvel one should be an announcement for Marvel releasing their own actually playable TCG (not Marvel snap, that shit is laughably bad) like if Marvel made a legitimately great TCG it would sell so well
My theory: since there're going to implement universes beyond boosters, theyre going to make universes beyond collector boosters truly limited to make those regular beyond boosters more appealing. Example: If you cant shell out 350$ for this specific set, why not buy some new beyond boosters for a $2xx for an opportunity at getting those same cards, which will also increase the the value of the collector boosters since they will be short in supply as we see with fallout.
If I was budgeting for the company I work for just like WotC does it I would have been sacked long time ago. How come every set that is being released the conversation is all about how low/high the release is? For Fallout, MKM (biggest platform by far for sell/buy CCGs in Europe) as of today only has 44 boxes for sell at a starting price of EUR 325 shipped. 44 boxes for ALL of Europe!!! What a joke!

It is sad to have come to this, but if I preorder sealed, I just do so on Amazon now. Usually the cheapest price I'll ever get (got fallout for about $200/box) it and I have yet to have them cancel on me

I've been working on my sorcery collection as of late. I have almost all the cards now! Had a blast opening a few boxes and now filling out the ones I'm missing. Biggest ones I'm missing are two of the cores and the philosopher's stone

Preorders have definitely been a meme for quite some time. You kind of know it’s a big deal with super high demand or a low supply for preorders to matter like this. Fallout is quite popular, I expect it’s a combination of both. Excited for final fantasy and I hope they do resident evil or silent hill!

I love fallout and I think the cards look great BUT playability wise/power is lacking.
I wouldn't say that Falliut has a bigger following than Doctor Who but I would say that Fallout has a bigger audience that also plays magic than fans of Doctor Who.
Dont twist words dude Ravensburger never said they reprint anything, like pokemon they said there will be enough, they want people to play and grow the game at this point they are not looking to turn that game into magic, maybe in a few years.

It's the first set people are happy about in a while, I agree but it's not even Wizard's IP. Honestly, the last set that I was genuinely excited about was Lord of the rings (Also, not their IP) and before that was Modern Horizons 2! As much as I don't want to admit it, the people designing these sets of the last couple years have done a terrible job. Zero creativity, zero value, and 5000 special foil collectors edition invisible cardboard lottery rainbow super special mythic rare variants. If everything is "special" nothing is special. How have we gone from one of the greatest collectible card games of all time, to one of the shittiest collectable games I've ever seen. They are relying on other established IP's to attract people to their product, which is fine, but everything else they create that is theirs alone is hot garbage. It's honestly so disappointing.

I'm a fan of Fallout so the fact that they failed to impress me is bad news for them. All the numbers are irrelevant because it's all artificially driven by an abnormally low supply. They could always decide to print more of it and then everything would collapse to nothing because the cards are awful and there's no real demand for them.
