    ALWAYS buy from Summit racing when you like a product but don't like their service. Summit will eat the costs to make you happy and leverage their buying power against the manufacture on their own time to get shit right. How do I know, I worked there.

      Yup, Summit is amazing. They CARE about their customers! Anything like this, I only order from Summit. I wish they had brick and mortar stores in cities where people actually live (Like Phoenix)... I could get lost there, that is my candy store.

    • @thef1sh17

      @@Jayztwocents did you call them to handle the issues or hotchkiss? I know you would think a company would handle their own issues but most of them honestly have no intention of providing support to the public. they want to deal with resellers only. Seems that way with a lot of engineering companies. make great products but suck at the human side.

    • @ghomerhust
      @ghomerhust 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      agreed. going through big time suppliers like that is often worth a little mark-up on the price of the parts because you know you have the backing of a big company that actually gives a hoot about its customers. my folks have been going with summit for many years because of that

    Jay, loving the Camaro content. As far as spring compressors go, they do make a style of coil spring compressor that should fit your Camaro. I had an old S10 with a similar front suspension setup, and a tool like the OEMTOOLS 27035 worked great for compressing the spring. I've done it once like you did in the video, and still had the spring jolt out on me. The tool is definitely worth the $50 or so.

  • @jompazx1272

    putting a bigger swaybar in the front and not putting one in the back or putting stiffer springs in the bak will make it understeer more since you make the front wheels absorbe more of the sideloading, this is why you can adjust the over/understeer balance of the car using adjustable swaybars.

  • @hellcat1988

    Jay. Wow. Jay... When you're taking a ball joint loose, ESPECIALLY tie rod ends, you hit the cast steel where the ball joint shaft goes through. That will break the friction bond between the two without damaging the threads or the dust boot. You can even see the spot ON THE CASTING OF THE SPINDLE where you're supposed to hit.

    • @Jayztwocents

      Dont think just because you saw a 3 second clip that you know the whole story. I hit every single spot of the cast body of that tie rod end for nearly a half hour. Damn thing wasnt coming off. Which is why I used the Tie Rod End puller (which Phil for some reason edited out... he always seems to cut out something important lol) and the next clip made it look like I was using the picklefork... bad editing made it look incorrect.

    Jay I stopped at timestamp 14:39. You can compress those springs however its a specialty tool and is expensive. essentially its a three pieces of metal, two plates and a all thread. You slide two of the pieces between the coils and then thread the all thread rod through. I had to find some from Amazon and it cost me around 200 dollars at the time.

    QA1 - can't recommend them enough. Can't speak for your platform though. Glad you are going EFI as well. Carbs are great, but long term EFI makes all the difference. Especially since I know the goal is more of a reliable cruiser that can be taken out to the strip/course.

      QA1 makes complete suspensions for my car. For now this is the path Ive chosen. That may change in the future.
