Very nice job with the hoses and clamps. Better safe than sorry and this is build to last! Sweet! Just a thought depending on where you live, but down South or South East, the engine may have had plain water in it or just need flushed. Prestone has a bright yellow two part can that was sold by GM as well. I am most likely wrong but look for part number GM 1234678 to see or ask for "Heavy-duty" cooling system cleaner. It is marked but with the system just a few pints low, open the top of the can and a power cleans the block, heater core, water pump and radiator. It does not harm aluminum radiators but does an excellent job of cleaning. The bottom portion of the can has a neutralizer to stop the cleaning action. The block and plugs at the bottom of the water jacket that never get removed. They may not come out, yet flush with cold water and hit a little compressed air into the cooling hose to stir it up. You might be surprised how much dirt comes out. nice job with lighting and camera. That too is work when doing a video! Great job.

I want to go back to when you were doing the intake gasket on the motor at the end of that video you were putting on the air cleaner wouldn’t the air cleaner too big for the base?
It is. I used an 11” base and filter from k&n. It lets air in from the bottom instead of the engine trying to breathe through the tiny hole of the air cleaner. It’s the easiest thing I could come up with without drilling holes in the air cleaner
One other question in the same video, you said you changed the springs on the carburetor and you went all the way to the biggest one. I had the same problem on mine. I had the yellow and changed to the orange a lot better. What was your reason going all the way down to the biggest one. Thank you.
@@armandomendiola2490 I believe I was referring to the accelerator pump squirter. The springs you’re talking about are the step up springs. They are based on vacuum your engine. Generally, if you’re engine has 15” of vacuum at idle you will divide it by 2 and get 7.5”. The stiffest spring edelbrock makes is 8” which I think is the silver one. However you will need to try out different springs to see which one works best for your engine. That’s just a starting point.

Did you ever figure out your alternator bracket? Mine is like yours and I'm having a time with the belt routing. The lower bracket makes it nearly impossible to remove the power steering pump filler cap
Yeah I’ve got the same issue. I have loosen the p/s belt to get the cover off. I think there might be a way to rotate the position of the res on the pump the make it line up better. I didn’t want to go through the problem of removing all the fluid and the pump right now.
Did you just hook up the hoses , fill fluid, and turn lock to lock? Do I have to flush the system? I just bought one and didn’t have instructions Thanks
Yes I went lock to lock until the squealing sound went away which was fairly quickly. I didn’t flush anything. You shouldn’t have to if everything is new. If something is being reused then you probably should.
It’s a 350. You would have to have the exact same pulleys and brackets to use the same belts I’m using. But I can get you part numbers if you still want them
2 groove crank pulley cp38811. If you want to run ac then you will need a single groove crank pulley cp38812. I’m using cp38808 double groove power steering pulley. Double groove water pump pulley cp38813.

Sorry for the late response. I think you will need a 3 groove crank pulley to operate ac, power steering and alternator

Thanks. I did it by myself. It is hard to support the weight and line everything up but I managed to get it.

I would recommend it. So far I have had no issues with my kit. I love how it steers, very responsive.

What color did you use to paint your engine, looks good. I got to rebuild my 350 and I don't mind the orange but I don't love it.

It’s the factory original bracket that was on the truck and yes it bolts to the manifold. Do you have accessory holes on your cylinder heads?

No, I had no issues.
What CPP PN was the pump kit? Assume it came with hoses, etc.?
CPP6366PSKS is the kit I’m running.
You will need to get a pulley for the pump. Part# CP38808 is the pulley I’m running. Hope this helps
are you using aftermarket wheels up front to clear the discs, 15X6? A year later any issues?
Wheel vintiques series 62 are the wheels I’m running. No issues with the power steering. I highly recommend this kit.

Are they too long? How wide is your wheels?
Did you have to ‘bleed’ the air out of the system?

Is your motor a 283? If so what size belts did you use as I have the same in my 65
