From a dingy tailgate bench to a shiny patina tailgate! Please watch the process I used to make the tailgate worthy of being on my truck.

1976 Chevy Luv 350
มุมมอง 1.3Kหลายเดือนก่อน
I finally got the 350 in the 1976 Chevy luv and I got to hear it run for the first time since I bought it on facebook market. I used POR-15 products for the first time on the luv. Its pricey but I like their stuff. It took a couple of months to get it to where its at in this video. A few issues to deal with but overall it was a relatively a smooth process. I hope everyone enjoys the video.
Edelbrock 8059 idle up solenoid install
มุมมอง 1.2K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
I added an idle compensation solenoid from Edelbrock. I updated the video because I thought I made a mistake on the wiring. If you have an Edelbrock carburetor with air conditioning then this solenoid kit will help with the low idle issues. I hope this video was helpful and if you have any questions please leave a comment. Thanks for watching www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-8059 www.summitracing...
1971 Chevy C10 part 2 new fuel system and shortbed conversion reveal

We finished up working on Treys c10 so he can take it to Oklahoma to get it cutdown to a shortbed. Coyote Customs did the shortbed conversion and they nailed it.
1971 Chevy C10 will it run and drive?
มุมมอง 1.7K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
My buddy Trey brought his new to him, 1971 Chevy c10 to the chicken eye garage. We get it running and driving and we take it for a spin around the neighborhood. We had to work through a lot of issues to get it running but we had a lot of fun doing it.
1976 Chevy luv sbc 350 swap
มุมมอง 6K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
It’s been awhile since I dropped a new video on the Vegas truck. After discovering the 327 was bad and needed more work than I could afford. It took some time but I finally found an engine that I hope is good. I took a different approach to installing a sbc but it looks like it is going to work. I hope this video helps someone out there wanting to swap in a sbc engine. www.summitracing.com/part...
1976 Chevy luv part 5. Rebuild of replace the Isuzu engine?

I finally tear into the Isuzu engine. Is it worth rebuilding or should I replace it with something that will create tire smoke. Tune in and find out.
1984 Chevy C10 hasn’t run in 20 years
มุมมอง 2K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
My buddy Trey bought this truck on July 4th, 2023 in Houston TX. The truck was rescued from a garage after sitting for almost 20 years. Will it run and move after sitting all this time? I had a lot of fun making this video. Thank you Trey for helping me out with some awesome content.

Dakota is making a disgusting amount of profit off this. Effers.
Awesome video. The tailgate is a game changer. Looks great. Can’t wait for the next video.
Beautiful truck
Thanks
Hey fella, nice ride!! Appreciate all your videos, you do a great job! Quick off topic question for ya if you don’t mind, how are you liking the radiator you have as well as the electric fans? I’m fixing to be in the market for one.
Thanks for the compliment. I like the fans. They move a lot of air and so far the radiator does what it needs to do. However, the other day I got caught in some stop and go traffic and the temps were creeping up. It was hot outside and I had the ac on but I’m still disappointed. I don’t know what or how to fix that. It’s always something
I had a 76 for my first truck....you should put a 4.3 chevy in it
Too late for that, I already put a 350 in it.
What a great find. You did a fantastic job with it. Looks great on the truck.
@@lenniedyer3765 thanks for the compliment. I really appreciate it
Great job man, tailgate looks awesome 👍👍
@@Classic-Shack thanks for the compliment
Great video! 👍 I have that same problem with my 66 tailgate. Being twisted sums it up. Truck had a camper shell on it most of it's life and tailgate is straight. I knew I needed to watch this to the end
@@aronbrooks3008 I’m glad you like the video. I really appreciate it
Like the truck also ..I own a 63 Buick Electra sports coupe..had a 78 f100 ranger I sold when my daughter was born in 03 I regret everyday.im 51 and have never owned a foreign car
I bought a 85 back in 07 .inrember my friends all getting them back in 85 and my parents buying me a huffy sigma ..around o7 I was buying a lot of bmx bikes .sold most in about 2017 .but kept the goose..mine is the serial numbered 35 th made that year which I think is pretty cool itself
Dumb question, what are the colored towel rolls on your workbench.
I bought them at Walmart. They are washable too
Nice. Do you know the name of that color blue?
I’m not sure but I think it’s 507 light blue
Looking forwards to a new video man, how hard do you think its gonna be to get a radiator and a fan in there? Looks pretty tight
gun and a clean paint booth , that stain looks great
did you have any Trube with your battery going dead after you installed the air compressors with truck running when you shut it off the battery dead. I got the 150 alt
@@timdonaldson8018 no issues
I have a 64C10 with Edelbrocke 1405 and woundee what to upgrade for a better carburator. Now I will go with your choice.
I keep blowing a fuze when i try switch on my compressors what do you think could be the solution
What size fuse are you using?
What fans are you using??
Derale
Why not wire it to the ac clutch?
I did originally but every time the compressor cycled off the solenoid turned off. I want the solenoid on all the time when the ac and fans are on. That’s why I wired it to a switch
Awesome video. What was wrong with the oil pressure? How did you fix it?
We just ignored it lol! Trey is going to connect a manual gauge to see if it’s the gauge reading wrong or the engine has an issue. To drive 1400 plus miles total with no issues it might be a bad sending unit.
Thanks for sharing.
I bought mine from quietride solutions and the fit around the hump is horrible. I’m chunking it in the trash and getting something else.
Not the best fit in the world. What’s disappointing, at least for me, is that the pad I got was made in 🇺🇸
Hey chicken eye, what route did you take. I went the interstate as per Hotrod and boy was it bad. Even worse the next day to Indy. Felt like wheels were gonna get ripped out from under the truck. Soon we picked hwy 40 to Indy and was much better. Great video.
Our friend Kelsey driving the white squarebody is the one that chose the route. He is good at finding those backroads. You should watch my day 3 video. Very beautiful
@@Chickeneyegarage will do. I was traveling with Matt from Metal massacre garage. He has some good vids as well. Nice chatting
@@Pooleo55F100 I met him Tuesday night. He came by out air bnb and hung out for a minute. Cool guy
@@Chickeneyegarage I gotcha. He said went to meet some cool people. 👍
Videos get better and better. What a good series. Can’t wait to do power tour myself.
Thanks for the compliment. It was a lot of fun. I want to do another one only in my own truck
great work keep it going....you got the part number for those plug wire hold down?
Tay-42502 Thanks for your support
That’s my crowd at the 17:46 mark. That blue c10 was a K10 on 35’s at Mother’s Day, silver 49 I chassis swapped 11 months ago and he has been hammered down to finish, blue Chevelle was his high school ride and was fresh off of a frame off build, that’s my raggedy impala up front. Filmed the 49 and blue c10 at the 24:24 mark too. Thanks!
The Corvair Van at the 26:05 mark is owned by a buddy, on its 2nd maybe 3rd long haul.
I like all of them. There’s so much to look at, I just filmed what caught the chicken eye.
Air BnB looks like a much better option than the hotels. Parking lot socializing was kinda fun but that included a few to many beverages and up way to late lol
We got there late and the VGG line was still a country mile long.
He’s a popular guy
Thank you for taking us on your trip with the Hotrod power tour, Now it's time to get back and work on the Love
I say we make our own tour and just drive back roads in eastern Tennessee and Kentucky next time!
I’m down. It’s a beautiful part of the country.
@@Chickeneyegarage For sure! Kelsey’s pretty good about picking backroads.
Yeah he did good on that one route in Kentucky.
@@Chickeneyegarage yeah the video does it no justice.
do you have part number or link to disc brakes and calipers? are they CPP? Asking becuase I bought a CPP kit and was wanting to do with the wheel vintiques you chose.
Yes it’s cpp. Part number CLP-6370SWBK-6
Did you do a clear coat or something else on your paint? I’ve been looking into “patina sauce” but still researching.
I just wet sanded and buffed it out
@@Chickeneyegarage thanks, great build btw!
@@kylebowerman you’re welcome and thanks
Looks like a great time. Videos are awesome.
Thanks
Oh we be watchin the Ole Chicken Eye🐥👁️
I thought that might get your attention 😆
@@Chickeneyegarage yep sure did.
That Back Window Glass Going Down Is Awesome! I Have That Same Set Up In My 93 Honda Del Sol, The Back Window Goes Down And The Targa Come Off.
Your 66 would've fit in great there. 👍
I want to take on the next power tour I go to
Great video! I love the bench
Thanks 🙏🏼
Keep up the good work. Love this video !!
Thanks 🙏🏼
Great job. Loved the video Chicken Eye!!
Thanks for the compliment. Glad you enjoyed the video. I just dropped day 2 video a couple of hours ago if you haven’t seen it already
I need one of those $40 hats!
Sorry I missed you. Awesome video!
Next time buddy
Great Video! The tour looks amazing!
Thanks for the compliment
Trey's 65 interior looks nice and fresh, do you know if that is a dark or medium fawn and does he have a paint code for it?
He said it’s fawn. He will have to get the paint code if he remembers
That looks just like my luv just not step side
Yeah, found that those push pins are worthy of some choice words today… I am not overly happy with the figment, and totally agree that all the holes should have just been perforated and let the end user cut out what they need! 1964 C20 Resto-Ratmod is my long term project (last 7 years- all the way down to the frame.)
Yeah those push pins are a pain. Firewall pad looks good in the end but it could be a lot better. Thanks for watching the video and good luck on your 64
That’s awesome. Enjoyed the video. I hope the transmission works flawlessly. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for compliments and thanks for watching
Hell yea sick ass moves at the end.😂😂
Thanks
I had a friend in high school that had a 76 Chevy LUV that we dropped a 350 into it was a whole lot of cutting but eventually we got it in there with a Muncie 4-speed. Come to think of it I think his was baby blue like that one. I do have a question what's the reason for the black motor if you develop an oil leak you'll never see it
When I bought the engine it was already black so I stuck with that color for simplicity. If you watch the last video I did on this truck you’ll see what I’m talking about
Great video with a happy ending. It sure made you work for it though. Now the fun starts 👍😎🔥🔥
I had a few issues to work through but it was worth it in the end. Thanks for watching
I have the same manifolds on the 350 in my 73 C10. I had to get van type oil and transmission dipsticks.
