I hope they continue this trend. Maybe the next one will be the C5 if it is worth it... GREAT VIDEO THANKS
I just purchased the S90D and have been testing it with different content for 5 days now, is it just me or why do I feel that it's not a huge upgrade over my 2022 Hisense U8H? Specifically I assumed it would be a night and day difference and upgrade, the S90D seems dim and missing that pop in brightness and sometimes color, the Baseball playoff games also looked dark, are there different settings when viewing sports?
That is precisely the reason why I don't know whether to switch to an OLED TV. They're not exactly cheap, I wouldn't want to spend money on something that would disappoint me.
how would the C4 compare to a 2018 LG Nano display in terms of picture and brightness? I want to upgrade to a C4 but worried about the game mode dimness
I bought a 4090 so detail is really important to me. Is there a significant difference between the quality of detail between the C4 and the S90D? That will decide which one I buy Friday.
Very helpful video. Wanted to ask a question. I have a sony x93 mini led and want to upgrade to a oled, never had a oled tv before lol. Should I get the g4 or s95d. I mostly will use the tv for gaming on xbox-series-x. Witch one would u prefer. Thank you. I appreciate your time and hard work on your videos.
They are both really great and as you can see in the video they definitely trade blows, I like the image quality of the G4 better when it comes to movies and shows so I lean towards the LG G4, but the G4 can suffer with HDR color loss on it’s default tone mapping but these examples aren’t super common. S95D is the more capable TV in regards to luminance but G4 still looks brighter in most content. In game mode S95D wins color while the G4 has the edge with flexible HDR brightness like I showed with the sports games using DTM on.
@@robertluzania4536 for gaming in a DARK room, S95D is better. However, overall G4 is a better tv. Especially if you have high ambient light during day.
If you were in the UK i’d suggest every single time Panasonic even if you pay way more,You get everything in those sets,And the most premium picture quality on TVs to date,If your in the US i’d suggest the Sony for Picture quality with decent settings or for a more fleshed out gaming experience only i’d suggest LG/Samsungs OLEDs be it way lower quality in everything else though,Still decent.
This is still a thing with the Samsungs? I had drop outs like crazy on my MU8000 with PS4 pro, that’s why I switched to LG. I have gotten dropouts too with the LG but it’s very very rare
I have a c3 the colors looks washed out in game mode how can I fix it ? What are the best gaming OLED TVs for Sony, Samsung, LG ? Or is there other brands out there?
Hi, a curiosity... who among Sony, Panasonic and LG performs the best upscaling and who has the best motion processor for SDR streaming content? I would like to get the best live viewing for streaming sports content compressed with h264 and h265 codecs for example. Panasonic has now improved with the new MZ2000 models and with the new mk2 processor on Z95A on this side and I've seen LG has also improved... Sony still remains a point of reference or have things changed? I saw that Panasonic uses an IFC Accurate for Upscaling. In conclusion, how are Sony Panasonic and LG positioned in this area? Thanks again Denis.
How would you compare the Samsung s90d 77inch vs the Sony Bravia 8 77 inch. Samsung $2300 Sony 3000. Since the Samsung is qd oiled vs regular oiled. What would you choose thanks.
The G4 may be more “accurate” and in line with creator’s intent but the color depth and brightness of the QD OLEDs is much more pleasing to the eye. If it were my money, I’ld get the S95D to use in a bright room. Also, it’s disappointing how bad the C4 looks compared to the others. It has nowhere close to the picture quality of the competition. The C series has stagnated, it has not markedly improved since the C2 because LG has spent all the R&D money on the G series.
@@2jyeti909 not what I have seen recently they are all good and bad. Samsung just sells way more so there will be few more than lg that’s faulty and Sony is worse for Quality Control for the money you pay for it in my experience of working in this industry for over 14 years. Not the worse QC worse for what you pay for worse will be hisense then TCL and other small shite cheap brands you can get everywhere.
I was about to buy C4. But from what I see. I will go for Samsung instead propably. At First I wanted to buy G3. But for some reason they have it here where I live in one size and it is 65 inches. I was looking for 77 and it is nowhere to find here. Not even on the original lg web sites. lol. But really. Samsung does many things better. I can see it now thanks to this G.
No. Wrong. This is what some people get wrong. Thanks to qd-oleds better color volume, it achieves MORE accurate colors in HDR. Assuming more saturated and stronger colors = less accurate is wrong. Woleds are more undersaturated with certain shades and colors in HDR, compared to reference, than qd-oleds.
With the G4 - I assume you use ALLM and a regular TV mode to get gradation settings active and a better image. What is the impact on lag when doing this? (I know you checked with G3 - but curious about G4)
@@TechWithKG Thanks for confirming. Was thinking only to get a better image for gradation. I know the colour is all good in game mode. Though you did say it's a good work around for SDR still yeah? Great work on your videos too... Keep it up!
@@TechWithKG FYI.. I think there is an issue to address with using professional mode in gaming. If using HGIG, switching to professional mode does not make anything brighter when assessing the brightest colours and highlights. When you demo this, that seems to be happening, but I think that's a result of using a splitter. In multiple games ive tested on the G4, there is no brightness advantage or additional colour detail to be had in HDR games. This needs to be made clear to people. Lowering the peak value from 100 down to 0 you can see some additional brightness details. But no added brightness or saturation. At 100, it's the same as HGIG. It's not the case with movies. That works well there. But for game content this "hack" does not work as intended. Again, I think this is an issue because when using a splitter you cannot set the peak luminance correctly for multiple TVs.
why would you not have all TVs on HGIG (no tone mapping) so its a accurate comparison rather than making it about how each manufacturer applies their own way to do dynamic tone mapping
Most games don't support hgig so it's too dark also most people aren't using these TVs in the most accurate mode without tweaks because if you are you're literally wasting money since a tv from 2020 just as bright
After 3 months of the S95D, I started getting black-outs, so I returned it 2nd one same thing. Went with the LG G4 and with it properly dialed in provided overall a superior picture than Samsung could ever hope to achieve. PC gaming and anime is phenomenal on the LG G4 vs S95D, I was getting color banding on the S95D real bad even after the second return. Tizen as a UI is complete trash, and It's still so very slow.

I think LG nerfing the C4’s game mode really takes it out of my buying list. Right now it’s a tough fight between the S90D and the Bravia 7. Better overall picture quality on the S90D, but better brightness, motion, and processing on the Bravia 7. I’m coming from a Hisense H9G which is very bright, but has terrible processing.

The G4 has its own strengths too. Higher consistent brightness, better motion processing and 3D depth, glossy coating, support for Dolby Vision and DTS audio, and a 5 year panel warranty. Sure the Samsung is more colourful, but LG isn’t far behind this year. 91% of BT. 2020 vs 75% on the LG, about 15% difference.
I bet that after couple shitty firmware updates Samsung will drop to around 1400nits max. Remember S95B was 1500nits when released now it is 1000nits with very aggressive ABL. My 7 year old C7 is still going strong! My S95B had already 2 panel replacement.
LG seems more reliable yes I can agree. The G4 I would say if you watch mostly HDR movies is the way to go. It's got a sharper, clearer and overall brighter image. But for game mode and SDR its lacking a bit unfortunatley
Both have really excellent game modes, with little compromise the G4 is brighter overall. A95L would be similar in color brightness to the S90D in this video for its game mode. The A95L will have a cleaner game image virtually no color banding but if there is smooth gradation does work unlike the G4 which does have color banding and no real way to clean it up. You also have really great enhancements like reality creation that can enhance the image for Sony.
Does someone have a link to a clear explanation of the S95D's issues due to One Connect Box / 40 Gbps? I would ideally buy the S95D, but am planning on using it for my gaming PC (which has a 4090 RTX) and I'm seeing a fair amount of comments around black out, white noise, etc. issues but can't find an actual reason why that's happening... I would be very disappointed buying the S95D and having to compromise... Thanks!
This was an issue with last year’s OCB for the S95C most reviewers including me had no drop outs with the S95D. It wasn’t really related to it being 40gbps. I haven’t seen many reports about black outs on the S95D except one comment but I wasn’t able to verify it with anyone else yet.
Panasonic is,It wipes the floor for accuracy and processing better than the Sony,Not to forget stunning image quality and better settings more than both TVs combined,Nothing beats Pana and you don’t have them in the US.
As a panel s95d is superior, i tried both of the tv. As Pc user was disappointed with the s95d coz of connect box was really a glitchy and black out when i enable HDR on pc(asus4090). Also, the lack of mode preset: only graphic mode and standard. Plus the matt finish not for me for sure. That's why i chose the g4. Don't have any problem with Pc. Hopefully that help for someone looking to hook these with a pc
Awesome upload, KG! Having lived with the S95D for two months now, I can say when properly dialed, it is the best gaming TV ever. During the day, however, contrast hit very, very evident due to the matt screen. Also, motion resolution needs to be better while watching movies.

Can you compare LG G3 and LG C4? I am planning on buying between them and just want to see how C4 holds up, cant find any display unit in local stores so cant compare in person. If there isnt much of a difference I will go for G4.
Do the colours sometimes look better on the S95D due to the Qd Oled panel or is it maybe just because of the pop that samsung adds to their picture presets, cause often times theyre more saturated if not calibrated. I dont want to call the G4 less capable in certain cases because it could just be the more accurate picture
It’s the QD OLED panel in most cases and if anything it is underutilized because the G4 can still look like the brighter TV, despite the S95D being more capable.
S95D is noticeably better and more capable, it’s the best color brightness I ever personally seen in a TV to date. Check out my comparison I did talking about them.
samsung has better image quality but it's not reliable, unfortunately it has a bad track record with displays having problems right after the warranty expires
It’s worse than LG,So i’d bet your bottom pound/Dollar it’s 10x worse than a Sony which it is,Samsungs are known for horrible processing and accuracy,That is true also,Coming from someone who’s seen all TVs,Pana is the best out of them all and has better settings and the best build quality,They are real premium sets,Look like a million dollars.

Havent set it up yet doing some remodeling in the living room
Why would I choose LG G4? The feature of upscaling low resolutions provides such a soft impression, not only in low resolutions, but also in content such as Netflix, Amazon Disney, and even content with mid-low 4K quality, that it is clearly visible next to the 65S95B I use at home.
Thank you for your wisdom and work. I kept thinking about the C4 but clearly the G4 is the beast for me but out of reach for me. Maybe during clearance. Happy Holidays to you and your family 🥂
s90D seems to be pushing brightness by increasing black crush. that way it can boost the brightness but also cool the TV by keeping overall similar light output. such settings also will increase percieved contrast, so i think they have some tricks up their sleeves here
Once you turned on dynamic tone mapping, both LGs looked better than their counterparts. I use DTM on my C9 already anyway so I’d just do the same for the C4 because yes, without it on it does look dull as hell
Of course, QD-OLED wins, but it has one basic problem, namely, it is not available in the 83-inch size. Therefore, the successor of my 83A90J will be the LG 83G4.
@TechWithKG I really enjoy your content and thanks for your effort! However, I have a important question on this one: Do I assume correctly that these TVs were not professionally calibrated? Therefore this a out of the box comparison. Having in mind that Samsung very often over saturates their colors, this could make a viewer think that in certain scenes Samsung S95C/S90D has a higher color brightness compared to the LG G4, while actually LG just shows a more accurate picture. Right? If this is the case, there should be a disclaimer in the video so that people understand this. Otherwise they might pay a lot of money for a TV based on a false assumption. Without a proper calibration of all TVs, it is hard to compare them....
It’s top 3 but I think the G4 and S95D 2024 OLEDs surpassed it in a few select areas, its certainly not the brightest among those 2 that’s for sure but still not a slouch for the brightness department.
@@TechWithKG Problem is, College Football, Blue-Ray DVDs, Xbox Series X for the NCAA football game, Diablo IV, Devil May Cry and add normal TV watching too... so in my case which would you suggest as the all around between these 2?

I have an LG C2 and C3. Also a Sumsung with Tizen. I have no problems with brightness on games, so not sure what you have the settings on that C4. The UI is super fast on LG. and slow on Samsung. I hate the lag Samsung has in th UI. Also LG has Dolby Vision. Getting a C4 on Black Friday.
This was such a cool and different review video!!! 🎉 thank you!! Hoping you can do the same for the Bravia 7/9, Qm851 85”, and the new QNED90/99t 75/86”. 🎉please. Btw the is the first review type video I’ve seen where someone does lengthy info other than test videos 🎉
Kg, what’s your thoughts on the g4 vs s95d vs Bravia 9? I’m torn between which one to get and I’ve never owned an oled before so the Bravia 9 was an easy choice but ever since I got the M4 ipad 13, I’m starting to see why oled has so much hype. I will be using it for series x gaming and streaming (Netflix/amazon/max). I rarely use it during the day so 80% of its use will be at night in dark or with a ceiling light on. I’ll be getting either 75 or 77 inch and cost is not an issue, I’m just trying to buy the best possible tv that will last me a good 4-5 years
I’d personally go G4 or S95D for that use case since you love your OLED iPad, let your preference guide you for the decision between those 2 find out which one has more things that might irritate you and eliminate that one. I think the G4 has more picture depth but not as good on the color at high brightness levels that’s the S95Ds strength like I mentioned in this video both are excellent with gaming in mind. I’d personally only recommend Bravia 9 for people who use mostly vivid mode or really want to have a ridiculously bright image in exchange for some contrast outside of brightness the 2 premium OLED here are superior in picture quality over the Bravia 9.

Something you dont have on WOLED. PS: Would donate for a S90D 55" WOLED vs G4 55" comparison.
I bought 55” S95D as I live in a condo that’s 90% floor to ceiling windows that gets all the mid day and late afternoon sun. Dark/night scenes that were once impossible to watch on my old Sony X900E are actually viewable. I think the anti glare tech is impressive as it makes actually seeing what’s in a dark scene possible during the day versus a reflection of myself and whatever is around me during a dark scene. A lot of the online feedback is making me doubt my choice though as if this G4 is just superior. Is it that bright and clear that the reflections won’t be as distracting? I somehow doubt it…
For me, the main downside is that the S90D is nearly as bright and in some aspects slightly better, at a significantly better value. But I'm sure the matte screen has its place for bright environments, and both are excellent screens.
S95D will always be better if anything QD-OLED is a superior technology then WOLED, and LG pricing is crazy expensive especially the G4 which can be up 1500 to 2000 dollar more expensive then an S95D at the same sizes here in australia

Thanks.

Thanks again Denis.

what inches are they?
It would be nice to know what the Samsung looks like in 77". In Spain Its WOLED
Outside of game mode C4 is a noticable improvement over the C3 so I do have to give it props there.
I'll take the LG for the better manufacturer warranty and reliability over Samsung quality, imo.
Awesome video. Do you have such comparisons with Sony A95L? I’m thinking of buying the A95L.
best a95l
With the G4 - I assume you use ALLM and a regular TV mode to get gradation settings active and a better image. What is the impact on lag when doing this? (I know you checked with G3 - but curious about G4)
Smooth Gradation doesn’t work even with ALLM, also no reason to use the ALLM work around on the G4
@@TechWithKG Thanks for confirming. Was thinking only to get a better image for gradation. I know the colour is all good in game mode. Though you did say it's a good work around for SDR still yeah?
Great work on your videos too... Keep it up!
Yeah SDR it is worth using good point, but keep in mind Nintendo Switch doesn’t support ALLM so if that’s your SDR source it wouldn’t work with ALLM.

Classic Samsung quality. I refuse to buy any of their products. Great on paper, but horrible reliability.

I’m considering the G4 and the A95L. Which would you choose KG?
Both have really excellent game modes, with little compromise the G4 is brighter overall. A95L would be similar in color brightness to the S90D in this video for its game mode. The A95L will have a cleaner game image virtually no color banding but if there is smooth gradation does work unlike the G4 which does have color banding and no real way to clean it up. You also have really great enhancements like reality creation that can enhance the image for Sony.

G3 is way better than the C4 not even close.

I really enjoy your content and thanks for your effort! However, I have a important question on this one:
Do I assume correctly that these TVs were not professionally calibrated? Therefore this a out of the box comparison. Having in mind that Samsung very often over saturates their colors, this could make a viewer think that in certain scenes Samsung S95C/S90D has a higher color brightness compared to the LG G4, while actually LG just shows a more accurate picture. Right?
If this is the case, there should be a disclaimer in the video so that people understand this. Otherwise they might pay a lot of money for a TV based on a false assumption. Without a proper calibration of all TVs, it is hard to compare them....

I have the Sony X900H and about to get the S90D
My S90D died in 12 days , got the LG C4
S90D died already
i use a retrotink 4k with my switch, so hdr is on baby! LG G4 is arriving soon.
I genuinely see the Samsung picture and motion as superior. Heck, my Q80B and S95B are insanely good tvs. The s90D is awesome.
why motion? lol
How the hell do people hate on the S95D so much? I don't get it.
I somehow doubt it…
Matte screen just kinda ugly and less premium looking
For me, the main downside is that the S90D is nearly as bright and in some aspects slightly better, at a significantly better value. But I'm sure the matte screen has its place for bright environments, and both are excellent screens.
Dimmin / blooming
People hate on anything and everything. C4 owner here I think all sets are wonderful
S95D will always be better if anything QD-OLED is a superior technology then WOLED, and LG pricing is crazy expensive especially the G4 which can be up 1500 to 2000 dollar more expensive then an S95D at the same sizes here in australia
I can get a g4 55 for 1400 and a s90d 65 for 1400 what will you get people mainly game at night and watch TH-cam etc coming from a Cx 55
@techwithkg ??
Get the bigger size if you can fit it and you'd like it better, I always go bigger when possible when technology is close.
@@TechWithKG thanks yeh I was thinking coming from a 55 would like to go a bit bigger would you take the s90d for £1400 or I can get the g4 65 price matched for £2000 coming from a Cx both are defo upgrades but is the g4 worth the £600 more if I’m keeping for 4-5 years
@@TechWithKG went with the 65 g4 😂
Just ashame the quality of Samsung sucks and there General movie processing is the worst from what I have seen in person. Great if you’re a gamer though and you don’t mind the quality. Also why is the video not HDR ?
i really liked the s90d even more than the s95D, lg is pretty consisten and great but on the first seems like quite burning the lights
