I really like this option. Gives a better overview of two most competitive tv's in whatever category. Its like cliff notes for final shopping research.
Nice review but couple of things I would add from my experience and why I choose the Sony qd oled. The LG brightness comes at the loss of color volume, in very bright scenes with lots of colors red, green etc the the LG colors looks a bit washed out compared to the QD OLEDs. The low quality content is actualy over done by the LG processing, if you look at the original image on a CRT you see that some of the details are missing which is why Sony pulled back on over smoothing the image. Dolby Vision is actually a major loss if you are a purist, HDR movies tend to have a over brighten look to the entire image, the DV version is like you are watching a SDR movie expect for when the highlights pop its a more cinematic feel for movie buffs.
Just got the lg g4 77inch 2 weeks ago because of you and a few other TH-camrs and I’ve been absolutely blown away every single time I turn it on and watch it play something, thank you.
@@CastIronEric I was in the same boat, checked both of them out in store and it made the decision even harder they both looked amazing so I just figured save 1k and get the g4 lol
As an A95L owner this is the comp I’ve been waiting to see. You guys are the first channel to legitimately do this comp among the 3. Pretty cool, wasn’t expecting this from RTINGS.
For watching movies, the A95L might still be king due to processing and color, but the LG4 is close enough that the price differential makes it a solid pick. LG4 is also available in larger sizes. Who knows what next year holds? Every year is a new year.
@@EMWill-cl4ml Im a big Panny fan.. My DVD’s still rocking on a Panasonic TH-PZ800U THX Plasma .. the Sony A95L is def appealing, but did not know about the new Panasonic coming. Thanks!
If you have a lot of DVDs and a reasonable PC , buy Topaz AI , in output select 2x Proteus Auto , should bash out a pretty good upscale , much much better TVS , then run output through handbrake at at quality rating of 18 or 16 . Use makemkv to turn video into effectively a playable one file solution , for Topaz to work on . Topaz is not cheap , does have a sale , still not cheap
@@RonnRicco pretty much , my solution is easy as without thinking , will give you a 720p or 960p file . You can upgrade it again to 1080p with another model like iris . My solution allows many DVDs to be done quickly without too much or any AI hallucinations. Topaz AI has a learning curve to really get it to work well I think my solution is fine , TVs can do the rest and they will get much better in future with AI upscaling a std feature in a few years . If you get too aggressive in your settings you can get a plastic look , or if you ask some of the more AI models to create as much details as possible if can make movies seem weird and glitching . My solution is less is more , without knowing how to really use Topaz AI , you can even run denoise higher then add back noise to stop plastic/waxy skin look . You can not take a 240p file and turn it into 4K , so limitations . Topaz cleans up blockiness, noise, softness, banding , compression and "recovers" some detail - results can be ok to amazing. Edit just doing what I say is the quickest. to take a 1080p to 2160p will take easily 3 times longer . I suppose some people use to re edit and colour grade movies like Stars Wars , as originally shown in theatre or something, that must of taken months
The LG G4 is the "best of both worlds" and is the model I purchased. I upgraded from the LG B8 OLED (which is now my bedroom TV), and I could not be any happier with it! It's great at gaming (the best, tbh) and its fantastic for content. I use mine with an Apple TV 4K, Xbox Series X, and a Panasonic 4K Blu-Ray player with audio through a Sonos Arc and Sonos Sub (Gen 3). It's such a great setup!
Remember, "put trash in, get trash out". Anyone holding onto their DVD collection, such as myself, is probably better off upgrading to a high quality Blu-Ray player that has good upscaling such as Panasonic's UB820, or the UB9000 if you want the slightly better best for twice the price. This will allow you to get a better TV than the Sony feature-wise while still having great upscaling and image processing of SD and other lower resolution content. If Sony has bothered to put their high-end image processing tech in a Blu-Ray player then that might be a good alternative, but as far as I'm aware their players simply don't upscale as well as their TVs or the Panasonic UB820.
G4 best processing in details and 3dpop, s95d thanks to qd oled 3rd gen panel best colors, A95L best balance of both but not as the others in their category
It's great to see all three brands improve their technology from previous models. However, as a LG C1 owner I'm going to wait until next year to see what they come up with as there's still room for improvement in all of them. If I had to pick one though, I'd go for the LG G4 as it seems like the best overall.
From the beginning you turned on the TV, it was very clear that the colour of the LG TV was better, I saw that from the cellphone screen the density of the LG screen was more perfect ❤❤
I know everyone has million dollar sound systems- but the Sony sounds superior to these. For anything but games, the A95L is the crystal clear winner. She didn’t even touch in motion, which Sony also excels at. For gaming, it’s a more difficult choice if the matte coating isn’t a deciding factor. Qd-OLED is superior to the G4, but the G4 has better processing.. so what you watch on the tv may help make your choice, unless the coating does it for you. The Sony gets my pick.
As the owner of a 77" A95L and another 65" I feel quite satisfied, having switched from a G3 the difference between an OLED and a QD OLED is evident. Excellent products in any case
I had 65" A95L and swapped for a G4. Wanted to love the A95L but the software was so glitchy it became an aggravation to use on the daily. Picture Quality - Sony. All else - LG.
Thank you for this review! Putting together all the little things and explaining them really helps, specially since as customers we are going to spend ALOT of money when considering High End OLED tvs.
@odisea485 I gotta say. I didn't even consider this set due to many reviewers giving a big scoff in the beginning. Rtings and others made me think this set was mid. So I was down to the QN900D and G4. I already had the S90C. After several months of comparisons, I noticed a very consistent trend where the S95D was the best gaming TV easily, due to color brightness, SDR, and even HDR. So I caved in and decided to get it. It is a huge upgrade over the S90C in every way. I cannot even begin to tell you
Excellent video, very useful! I do have one question though that I'm hoping might turn into a comparison video somehow: Since you mention that Dolby Vision doesn't matter too much on TVs as bright as these OLEDs, can you objectively demonstrate that? I think the perception is that since Dolby Vision is the default HDR mastering technology for Blu-ray and a number of streaming services, you're missing something if you get a TV that doesn't support it. I can think of any number of variables that might need to be controlled, such as image processing by the TV (does DV even look the same on different TVs using the same panel?), but I think it would help to show how important (or not) DV is for a TV. Thanks!
Dolby vision honestly doesn't matter much. If you've got any one of these TVs including the Samsung HDR is going to look outstanding and very similar on each regardless of whether it's Dolby vision or just normal HDR10. What matters far more is the TVs capabilities. If it were that big of a deal in PQ Samsung would go out of their way to add Dolby Vision but they know it doesn't make a huge difference despite what any fanboys of LG or Sony are going to try and tell you. Those same people will tell you you should be watching your HDR content as accurately as possible in filmmaker mode but anyone that thinks for themselves that strict accuracy and a TV's filmmaker mode gives you an extremely tame and boring picture. Picture quality snobs are the absolute worst. Just like audiophiles.
For gaming on an Xbox in 2024, I can say that Dolby Vision has changed the way I view and play video games. My last Samsung died early and their support was awful. I can’t bring myself to deal with them ever again.. however this is an easy choice as they choose to not support Dolby and they don’t pass through DTS codecs which is also a dealbreaker for anyone that watches Blu-ray content. Some games are also mastered for DTS (Tiny Tina’s Wonderland being one of them).
Mine arrives next Friday, can't wait. My 2020 Hisense H9G died, this upgrade is gonna be nuts. And yes, by far most expensive TV I'll have bought lmao.
The 5-year warranty, along with the price, is what makes the G4 really stand out for me.. I've had the Alienware AW3423DWF for almost 2 years and absolutely love QD-OLED, but I am terrified of spending $5k and getting burn-in 3-4 years down the road.
G4 is the winner this year without even having QD-OLED because it has superior image processing thanks to its new A11 processor and superior brightness thanks to MLA. The S95D does have an advantage with color volume but the G4 still has the better picture quality.
Ummm... not quite. You can see from the video the G4 blows out HDR colors, lacking nuance and accuracy. Also seen in the measurements. I think the A95L still has it beat for movie watching. Look at the strawberry shot, the A95 is the only tv presenting an accurate looking image there. The G4 is a great tv and certainly tops for gamers and those looking for an 83". Good to see they have brought up their processing game.
@@bearclaw5115 how can you tell what the colors are through a compressed youtube video while watching on a screen that is probably worse than these 3? you can't, you're not seeing what the tvs can do, you're seeing what the camera is seeing with it's low f-stop sensor and what your screen can display. these things you can only see in person.
I still watch these comparisons between these oled models to confirm my decision to finally get the 77” LG G4. I was also lucky I kept monitoring Best Buys price on my LG and the price dropped to $3999 which I did a price adjustment to get $500 back after their 4th of July sale.😅 I changed my mind 4x, lol. I initially bought the 77”Sony Bravia 9 micro led but coming from an old 50”Panasonic plasma screen I changed to oled for the deep blacks.
This review was awesome, from the amount of information and the details and the graphics and charts comparisons. Please do more of these in the future.
The LG G4 OLED TV is known for its excellent build quality and the use of high-quality electronic components. Apha 11 AI Processor The only chipset specifically for OLED enhances the experience using 11 years of expertise in deep learning, graphics, and speed. LG's software updates are also appreciated, particularly because they continue to perform consistently, even after several years.
Bought the Sony 77" A95L last year along with the Sony 7.2 receiver and Klipsch 7.2 Atmos speakers. Wow, what an experience! For Movies, I put the TV on Vivid and take down the brightness considerably but still brighter than Standard. The images are amazing, especially Horror movies which tend to be too dark, lacking in contrast and detail. New movies are amazing in that they look better than anything I've seen in a movie theatre. I do a little gaming but only on my computer/monitor setup so gaming is not an issue. Nice to know my Sony still holds up with the new leading models.
Putting that tv in Vivid mode is like going to a fine steakhouse and asking for a hot dog. Try your hand with the Custom mode, with a little experimentation I think you'll arrive at a more pleasing picture. There are you YT vid's on the topic.
@@bearclaw5115 Thanks for info. I do try lots of various modes depending on the quality of the source. I just like vivid and soap opera for sports. Makes me feel like i'm right there. For movies I use different modes.
I just bought the G4 and I'll make it quick for you: Movies/Streaming: A95L > G4 > S95D Gaming: S95D > G4 > A95L As I'm doing 50/50 the right answer for me was G4. I just bought the 77 inch G4 for >1.000 € less than the A95L and I love it. 😊
I went for a 55" S95D and it's simply stunning. I wall mount too so the One-Connect Box makes it easier and far more accessible... The Matte screen certainly isn't noticeable in my room when it's on at all - but then I don't shine direct light on my TV, even with curtains open, it's not affected and bright enough for daytime viewing or 'playing' as its a superb gaming Display too... The G4 does look I nice TV and Versatile too - probably the best 'Bang for Buck' TV, but the S95D suits my needs perfectly and lack of DV, low bitrate Content upscaling, DTS passthrough and/or its Matte screen don't affect me in the slightest but I guess would be nice to have, just in case LOL... Anyway it seems they are ALL fantastic and ALL owners should be Pleased - it seems we are....
Why A95L is worst for gaming? It's about quite bad Game Mode? I think for console-gaming level it's good tv with 4K/60fps and fullHD/120FPS (most 4K/120FPS games are really unstable), for more sophisticated experience/"serious" PC gaming it's better to get lesser monitor, with (much) lower input lag than qd-oled TVs. In my country I could get A95L quite cheaper than s95d and over 1000$ cheaper than g4.
@@sp3ctr478 It isn't "worst" in gaming. All three TVs are great for gaming. There is no real spec you are missing in game mode (for console) on the A95L and with reality creation it also looks really beautiful. What I don't like is the dimming in game mode on the A95L. If you don't mind that and you don't need the brightest picture (still very bright) you're getting a great gaming TV...
@@sp3ctr478 Why? Because its objectively worse than the other two. Not only does it have more input lag, it also dims HDR so has less impact too. It also only has 2 HDMI ports suitable for 4k/120hz gaming but one of those is also the eARC port so if you wanted to plug in Both a Series X and PS5 whilst also passing the Audio to your Surround Sound system, you can't with Sony... Most Gaming monitors tend to quote Pixel Response times - not input lag. Pixel Response is NOT the same and as 'OLEDs' have near instantaneous pixel response, they are much faster than LCD monitors quoting 2mss Pixel Response that may also have 10-15ms of Input Lag too - and Gaming monitors are not that great for HDR either - so buying one will have 'less' impact, won't offer the Contrast, the range of Colour etc. The reason they cite Pixel Response is because of Scrolling up/down through Web Pages or Documents would be much more blurry and difficult to read with more smearing in motion caused by slow pixel response - often it's quite difficult to actually find out what the input Lag is on a Gaming Monitor as they only quote Pixel Response times. So not only is the Sony limited by a 120hz panel, its limited on HDMI ports for Gaming and 1 of those options is 'lost' if you also want to game with decent 'external' Audio options as these Flat TV's aren't the 'best' quality for Audio (hence its recommended to get a Soundbar). Its 'worse' than the other two on HDR and input lag (even if still 'decent') and unlike the other two isn't able to appeal to PC gamers. In other words, Sony's A95L looks more suited to the Film buff who may dabble with a Console (ideally for Sony a PS5 for 'best synergy') with the 'eARC' port used for Surround sound Audio systems. The other two are designed for those with more than 1 gaming Device - inc PC's as ALL their Ports are suitable for Gaming so better for Gamers....
I ordered a 65" LG G4 a few days ago through B&H on sale for $2,800 and is going to be delivered on the 29th (would be delivered a lot sooner, but I'm going out of town for an annual convention). I can't wait to get it and hang it on my wall! I really wanted the A95L, but it was so much more expensive (smaller discount) I couldn't justify the extra cost.
No Way I would even consider an Samsung. Really hate the grey/purple tint when light hits the panel. And I don't like how hard Samsung is screaming with the panel in order to compete (resulting in thermal throttling). That really makes you wonder how long it will last. Over the last years quality control of Samsung hasn't been top-tier either. LG is mass producing OLED TV's since 2012...
Yeah on the monitor end of things, their qd-oled panels have aggressive abl's algorithms to preserve the panel. Maybe the technology isn't all it was cracked up to be.
@@molsen7549 You can get an impression by checking out RTING's longevity test diagrams: QD-OLED is just not durable ! I was always wondering why ... after they cancelled OLED development in 2013 due to the inefficient and degrading blue subpixels ... they came up again with these blue subpixels for all three colors ... somewhat stupid, especially because today we are expecting 10 times higher brightnesses than back in 2013 !
Same here, using the Hotdealsuk deal in May. It's amazing. We watched Avatar The Way of Water on Disney+ the other day and I've never seen anything like it on a TV screen. My biggest gripe is that I've not been able to get it to work with Google. I have home automation routines and it's ridiculous that it won't integrate easily. Also, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that 5yrs WebOS updates will mean we'll get Freely at some point. I'm sick of my loft aerial signal issues for terrestrial TV (which we still wathc quite a lot of).

Yes but it depends what you watch if you watch Mostly old stuff and movies Sony's the best if you play games on your TV LG or Samsung it all boils down to what you watch who cares about best all-around TV the most important thing is what you do with your own TV.
Kind of irrelevant. All of these TVs are so thin that they can never really compete with even the most basic of soundbars. IMHO they might as well not include any speakers at all.
If you buy such an expensive tv such as a95l or the less but still expensive g4 why not a good home cinema audio set that supports dts(hd,x) dolby atmos?
I love the Sony A95L 🤩🤑 thank you for this comparison.. Can you test Panasonic tv’s ? (55 or 65 MZ2000, and the 77 MZ2000 without MLA) 🙏🏽 * Sorry for my english
When the large 83" G4 is INSTALLED CORRECTLY on the wall with the LG flushmount bracket, the audio SOUNDS FANTASTIC. It doesn't require outboard soundbar/soundsystem in order to sound good.
@@propeldragonIn that case the Sonys have a better built in tv sound bar but for me I used an older Denon 7.1 AV receiver with a mix of old school Boston Acustic front towers and center channel, Klipsch rear surrounds and 2 Klipsch 12” subwoofers. Receiver supports DTS and Dolby PL II. I will upgrade to a Dolby Atmos AV receiver. Still researching which one. For music I use a hi res bluetooth adapter via toslink to connect the Sony N-WA 306 hi res walkman.
@@weduhpeople8504Bluetooth is not hi res. It just isn't. There are lots of all in one or supposedly network speakers out on the market. Then you find they use Bluetooth. It just isn't capable of proper high bandwidth streaming audio. And it doesn't sound as good obviously. Bluetooth should stay for file transfer like it was originally built for. If any music at all compressed MP3 which is horrendous.
You can't possibly delight your eyes with the best tv and let your ears with the onboard audio. Please treat yourself with decency and get yourself a proper sound system with either the Samsung 995D or the LG L95QR. If you are already amazed by the tv's sound, you won't ever go a movie theater again.
Wait, you did image processing, but what about motion processing? All handle 24p judder fine, but they all perform interpolation differently to compensate for stutter, I would have liked to have seen that covered in this video, along with more ABL differences details.
Great video! I have a question, though: in 5:26 you said that for tvs this bright doesn't matter as much, that Samsung doesn't support Dolby Vision. May I ask why? And I'm asking cause i watch blu-ray movies with dolby vision and not HDR10+. So, if I buy a tv with no dolby vision support, won't I lose in HDR and brightness quality (with no dynamic metadata) with just HDR10 rollback from my bluray? Thanks in advance for your time.
In a dark room that a95l and s95d are superior in color and contrast.when you turn on the lights the g4 beats them both in color and contrast making the other two displays look like LCD panels
Great comparison but you omitted one very important criteria : Sound ! Sony has the best sound of any tv out there, as the whole screen IS the speaker.
In the UK the sony and the Samsung are the same price at 3k the g4 is a bit cheaper at 2800. So the sony price negative isn't justified. LG for me lost a bit of faith with a few of my family having lg panel tv's and they were blue and needed to be replaced. My sony was 12 years old and still as good as day 1 (maybe). The LG's were 3 to 5 years old. The extra money in the end made more sense as the tv has lasted and is lasting much longer.
Some good info on specs and performance. There are other parts that factor into my personal purchase decisions. QC, warranty and warranty execution among them.

I had to return my A95L due to a lot of technical issues. I waited a half year for support but Sony didn’t do anything. SERIOUSLY, NO-THING. I’m very happy with my Lg g4, although qd-oled looked nice.
Bloopers always get me but abby 3 product review is the best and it must have been hard comparing three flagship teles. I will be picking up two from this lineup 😊
I absolutely am blown away by LG G4 55 i had the ai put together the screen it thinks id like and words cannot describe how rich in color the tv was and EXTREMELY bright 😅
Since I want both gaming and movies for my TV (slightly biased towards gaming), I'll likely do the LG G4 once a massive sale happens. Even though color and image processing is a bit better on the Sony A95L, the worse input delay and lack of 1440p mode make it not as desirable for me as the G4 (even though it's close). As for Samsung, no DV makes it an automatic no for me (that and I don't like the idea of the Samsung One Connect box as that leads to a single point of failure if the port ever breaks). Thanks for the detailed review!
LG always cheaper over Sony. That "Sony TAX" is deep and real lol. If I had a game room and a viewing room I'd get LG for gaming and Sony for everything else.

I just bought cheaper TV and that's it, they're (a95l/s95d/g4) all great overall.
Hi, a curiosity... who among Sony, Panasonic and LG performs the best upscaling and who has the best motion processor for SDR streaming content? I would like to get the best live viewing for streaming sports content compressed with h264 and h265 codecs for example. Panasonic has now improved with the new MZ2000 models and with the new mk2 processor on Z95A on this side and I've seen LG has also improved... Sony still remains a point of reference or have things changed? I saw that Panasonic uses an IFC Accurate for Upscaling. In conclusion, how are Sony Panasonic and LG positioned in this area? Thanks again Denis.
As an Australian the choice is obvious ====> G4. It would have been the A95L but Sony in its infinite wisdom has opted to discontinue that line in Australia.
I love the A95l and the G4 both. If I had to choose one it would be the G4 by a slim margin. Can’t go wrong with either but I give the win to the G4 with the slightly better brightness and picture quality. My only gripe which is an annoying and ugly outdated boring stand for the 55 and 65in tv.
2 things surprisingly never ever mentioned in these reviews to consider for buyers from a pragmatic practical point of view; 1) Sonys base stand in the corners rather annoying rather than a convenient flat centre base stand; 2) Always find Samsung the most “Apple ecosystem friendly” of the 3 esp for Apple AirPlay the other 2 more Android system or Alexa based…
You have reviewed LG G4 a number of times as a clear winner on the TH-cam comparisons, however it’s hasn’t been the case on your website (with the exception of the 83”. ) For example, you have selected Samsung to be the best Odel for video games, yet when challenged that G4 has a better technical rating you use the price as the criteria. You are challenged further that the G4 prices have been reduced and that some other models you have chosen ahead of G4 are more expensive. Your answer to that is that the others are better for home theatres which isn’t what the article was based on. Is there something you’re hiding about G4 that we don’t know about?
I just bought A95l and having some great anxiety. The automatic dimming is a much bigger problem than I envisioned for sports (first OLED experience, and went in ignorant). If any A95L owners have an advice for modes or settings for sports that help to mitigate the aggressive dimming algorithm, you would be my friend forever. I only heard this was a good TV for sports without diving deeper into this dimming algorithm. I really dont want to take it back because I love the TV otherwise
Are you still having issues with sports dimming on the A95L? Do you have eco mode and ambient light sensor off? Also, do you have brightness on max and peak luminance set to high?
The Samsung doesn't have dolby vision, and you think it is not a big issue? Have you heard of dynamic metadata? Not an issue? If you're watching movies it sure is an issue, I'll tell you. It's not about higher brightness, it's about being able to have different instructions for potentially EVERY SCENE. Big deal. I would definitely not buy a TV without it. But objectively, besides the LG scoring a bit lower on color volume and accuracy, according to your own tests here, it seems to be the winner.
"From the front little separates the 3 TVs..." she said at the same time that the 2 TVs on the left were showing major glare while the one on the right had NONE -> There is my winner!!
I just want Sony to know that I would have bought the A95L, but I didn't also want to buy furniture, and our front room only allows for a 55". That was the exact deciding consideration in my purchase yesterday.
That was one of the best comparison I’ve seen, maybe the best actually. I like that you point out their strengths and weaknesses, but you let the consumer decide what works best than the usual 1-2-3 . I was thinking of the Samsung love the remote, the Sony with their hdmi ports is not for me, so LG basically has it all and for the future. Black Friday deals and 77’ G4 for me.
Would your team consider testing different streaming devices? Additionally comparing it to streaming directly from smart TV’s. I can’t seem to find an extremely clarifying answer to the questions I seek. What is going to provide the best image and audio quality for my TV. I’ve heard most either recommend Apple TV 4K or Nvidia Shield. I just purchased a S90D tv and would also be curious if these streaming devices provide an upgrade in quality to high end smart TV’s. Lastly if a TV does not support something like Donny Vision but I were to stream from an Apple 4K tv which does support such a feature would the streaming devices support translate to the screen? I know it’s a lot of questions but if anyone were to know/care about the answer it would be RTINGS! Been loving your TH-cam channel and checking out your website also as a result!
If the TV can't do dolby vision (see Samsung), then no external device can make it display dolby vision either. The TV just doesn't know the format, and it cannot be "translated" into HDR+.
I like this analysis. Basically, you can’t go wrong, but you can go more right. 😂 This makes me want manufactures to let you spec out TVs like when you order a computer. The Sony input implementation is problematic.
@@JFinns Which is where my LG C8 is about to go, and should have gone probably 2 years ago after all the red pixels in the center of the screen degraded.
I have the A95K. 1080p bluray with HLG engaged turns it into an absolute beast! It beats the 4k version 90% of the time. I always have HLG engaged now.
@cp070476 my friend, sometimes SDR movies look better in HDR10. You just need turn Gamma setting to the maximum , because HDR10 kills a lot of shadow Details..
Huge question here. Would a 1080p blu-ray look significantly better upscaled on the A95L over the G4? Or would it be almost impossible to tell the difference? This will determine which tv I will buy. For the 65 inch model.
For me the Smashedsung is out of the question because it’s matte coating, I don’t know what they were thinking.. Also heard that the oneconnect box can loose signal if it’s not attached to the tv, has better sound but poor bass, also heard and seen A LOT of faulty display from samsung, maybe low quality manufacturing.. Worse sdr content handling so really. Out of the picture… However Sony is the best overall for me, if price doesn’t matter, but it actually is matter for me. Especially because it’s in fact more expensive than LG by 600$, and LG’s G4 is 2024 model, Sony’s A95L is 2023. Even Sony’s Bravia 9 Mini-LED is more expensive than LG , all of them at 65’’ diagonal. When it comes to my needs, and start to talking about 77’’ tv’s, the price difference going to get bigger, 700$ on Sony’s 2023 model, however, LG has offered their 77inch G4 for 3999$ on their official website so the difference going to reach a 1000$ over Sony. And Sony really isn’t that better.
At this point, I think the one question you need to ask yourself is: Does the very slight picture processing advantage the Sony has over the LG- and that is if you don’t disable most of the motion smoothing features from the get go-worth the price difference of $1000? Because the panels themselves are pretty comparable and the LG is a better gaming TV.
This is the first time we've ever done a comparison with 3 products, so please let us know what you think! Enjoy 😄
Great idea, thanks you !
Very good😊
I really like this option.
A95L is the best, then s95D .. the G4 with old technology woled .. you should clarify this to the viewers

@@nimblegoat Is this how people turn dvd movies into 1080p quality?
@@RonnRicco pretty much , my solution is easy as without thinking , will give you a 720p or 960p file . You can upgrade it again to 1080p with another model like iris . My solution allows many DVDs to be done quickly without too much or any AI hallucinations. Topaz AI has a learning curve to really get it to work well
I think my solution is fine , TVs can do the rest and they will get much better in future with AI upscaling a std feature in a few years .

Personally I'd still easily take a 77' A95L. From this comparison A95L Is ranked the best In nearly all the areas I care about.
Yes, it's color accuracy really sells the image to me. The other two are neon caricatures by comparison.
G4 best processing in details and 3dpop, s95d thanks to qd oled 3rd gen panel best colors, A95L best balance of both but not as the others in their category
A95L QD-OLED winner's
I have A95L and can clearly say Sony is a sleeper this year
@kevspirit1848it's still super bright even in game mode. It can go up to 1200+ nits in 2% and 10%
It's great to see all three brands improve their technology from previous models. However, as a LG C1 owner I'm going to wait until next year to see what they come up with as there's still room for improvement in all of them. If I had to pick one though, I'd go for the LG G4 as it seems like the best overall.
From the beginning you turned on the TV, it was very clear that the colour of the LG TV was better, I saw that from the cellphone screen the density of the LG screen was more perfect ❤❤
but not in real life xD
There are 3rd-party stands that work for the larger LG G4 models. I use a FITUEYES stand for an LG G4 83" and it seems perfectly stable.
Could you tell, which exactly FITUEYES stand? I fu*** hate LG for gatekeeping basic stuff like stands
still got my LG CX 65", i think ill still going to pick an LG
I know everyone has million dollar sound systems- but the Sony sounds superior to these. For anything but games, the A95L is the crystal clear winner. She didn’t even touch in motion, which Sony also excels at. For gaming, it’s a more difficult choice if the matte coating isn’t a deciding factor. Qd-OLED is superior to the G4, but the G4 has better processing.. so what you watch on the tv may help make your choice, unless the coating does it for you. The Sony gets my pick.
You also forget that lg has less input lag and has a superior 144hz refresh rate not to mention Sony is more expensive
As the owner of a 77" A95L and another 65" I feel quite satisfied, having switched from a G3 the difference between an OLED and a QD OLED is evident. Excellent products in any case

You actually caught Samsung trying to cheat a 10% window, peak brightness test. Amazing.
It’s absurd the Sony only has 2 of 2.1 HDMI ports. Get your act together Sony!!!
After many comparisons, the S95D consistently came out ahead for my 90% (gaming).
I bought the panel and it is amazing 🎉
Glad to hear you're happy with your purchase, enjoy! 😄
Should we be scared of Burnin when gaming on the S95D ? Thanks
HOW IS THE S95D GAMING FOR YOU? I PLAY ON PS5. MY PRIORITY IS GAMES AND THEN MOVIES AND SERIES, HOW IS IT IN THIS OTHER ASPECT?
I’ve just bought a G4. My first ever OLED. Being delivered in a few days! Most I’ve ever spent on a TV.
Have fun! I'm sure you'll feel it's money well spent.
Warranty a game changer
LG G4 won it in my opinion

@@BAMozzy69Great purchase, QD OLED 3rd gen is fantastic 😊
All I Can Say THANKS RTINGS A BUNCH!!!! I And Many TRUST YOUR INPUTS OVERALL!!!!

I can't wait to get it and hang it on my wall! I really wanted the A95L, but it was so much more expensive (smaller discount) I couldn't justify the extra cost.
For my use, wall mounting, bright living room , one connect , the s95D is a game changer
Great comparison and done in less than 15 min. Good job!
I rock with Samsung, TV, Sound Bar, Watch, Tablet, Phone. HDR10 plus rocks my world.

I have a question, though: in 5:26 you said that for tvs this bright doesn't matter as much, that Samsung doesn't support Dolby Vision. May I ask why? In a dark room that a95l and s95d are superior in color and contrast.when you turn on the lights the g4 beats them both in color and contrast making the other two displays look like LCD panels
Why would that be?

Simple, Straight to the point. Best comparison review for TVs 👍🏼 sub
It is outstanding comparison! You were wonderful in explanation.
Whatever is the cheapest between the G4 and A95L would be the best imo. Matte coating on an OLED is just not it.
LG always cheaper over Sony. That "Sony TAX" is deep and real lol. If I had a game room and a viewing room I'd get LG for gaming and Sony for everything else.
LG always less greedy than some sony, So.. obvious King in da house. AGAiN
@@RonnRicco I boutgh my A95L 65" a month ago: in Poland I could get it for 13499 PLN, while Samsung s95d was equally priced and LG G4 was 18999 PLN (now it's around 15k PLN). To be fair, I was planning to buy LG one but their ridiculous pricing would kill my wallet even more haha.
@@sp3ctr478 I guess it varies by country. Is LG more popular in Poland?
@@RonnRiccoin case of oled TVs? Yes - we Poles love "C" series for gaming especially, great price/performance ratio; around black friday/week period of a year G4 will become cheaper - probably even cheaper than a95l - but still didn't want to wait 5 next months to buy new living room TV when I just moved to a new flat.
We ordered all 3 to compare, we ended up landing on the LG G4 being the one that worked best for us.
2 things surprisingly never ever mentioned in these reviews to consider for buyers from a pragmatic practical point of view; 1) Sonys base stand in the corners rather annoying rather than a convenient flat centre base stand; 2) Always find Samsung the most “Apple ecosystem friendly” of the 3 esp for Apple AirPlay the other 2 more Android system or Alexa based…
Less stress on the tv cabinet thought.
Based on this review, the LG wins it for me. Sony has a few small nitpicks by me to consider it. Samsung is a distant third for me.
You have reviewed LG G4 a number of times as a clear winner on the TH-cam comparisons, however it’s hasn’t been the case on your website (with the exception of the 83”. )
For example, you have selected Samsung to be the best Odel for video games, yet when challenged that G4 has a better technical rating you use the price as the criteria.
Samsung s95d HDR bro its Brightness more than lg4 and sony a95l ? , thanks
Thank you so much for the kind words! 😄
I saw you guys reviewed the Drunkdeer A75, is there going to be a review of the A75 Pro too?
thank you for this review!
G4 is an amazing Tv, I moved away from Sony and QD-Oled. I just think it’s way over rated.
Same, just ordered my G4 yesterday 💪🏻
How long will these TVs be lasting physical and morally? Where do they go after that?
I like this analysis. Basically, you can’t go wrong, but you can go more right. 😂 This makes me want manufactures to let you spec out TVs like when you order a computer. The Sony input implementation is problematic.
Thank you for leading my TV streaming soul to the LG G4 🎉
VIDEOGAMES: you fail to mention how reality creation on the sony makes low ress games or low ress textures look much better.
Thanks rtings. Now please do this for non-OLED TVs.
Those are trash
No thanks only oled
@@JFinns Which is where my LG C8 is about to go, and should have gone probably 2 years ago after all the red pixels in the center of the screen degraded.
Good review but you should have compared tv speakers too
I have the A95K. 1080p bluray with HLG engaged turns it into an absolute beast! It beats the 4k version 90% of the time. I always have HLG engaged now.
Class. I have a Sony A95L and watch my sDR movies in HDR mode (HLG or HDR10) too.
@@JuranID Not HDR 10 my friend. HLG definitely
I think that might be a close one but I think Sony will slightly be better. Just remember sony only has 2 120hz inputs compared to lg has 4 hdmi 144hz
A95L all day, everyday, period!
Out of the picture…
However Sony is the best overall for me, if price doesn’t matter, but it actually is matter for me.
And Sony really isn’t that better.
do you guys ever review the toshiba tv? I'm interested in the toshiba oled 65x9900LP
