Thank you for this! I went with the LG B4 83-inch and love it. The deciding factor for me was the fact that, curiously, the 83-inch version of this TV does not use the same processor as the smaller sizes in the B4 range. Rather, it comes with the a9 gen 7 processor used in the C4 series.
Caleb - Your review made me take a second look at the S95D, and I’m so glad I did. Our living room is bright and sunny, with plenty of windows letting in natural light. While our previous 2016 LG OLED was fantastic at night, it was nearly unwatchable during the day. Of course, any of the current LG or Samsung OLED models would have been far better for a bright room if I had bought them, but your review sparked my interest in the 77-inch S95D. With Costco’s excellent return policy, I decided to give it a try-and wow, am I glad I did! The glare-free technology, as you described, is truly remarkable. Combined with its incredibly bright OLED display, the TV is fantastic during the daytime and absolutely stunning in low light or at night. It’s disappointing that this TV has received so much negative feedback from so-called expert reviewers, but your balanced review, which considered practical viewing conditions, was spot on. Everyone who has seen the S95D in our home has been blown away by its performance. Thank you for your insightful and honest review-it made all the difference!
I 💯 agree. I have the S95D, and it is fantastic! The reviewers definitely don't consider the practicality of the anti glare component of the device, it truly is a game changer if you have to deal with reflections through out the home.
Even at night, the lights from overhead recessed lights used to bounce off the furniture or us and that showed up as reflections on the earlier TV but there is none on the S95D and yet the blacks are inky and the colors pop. I don’t think we can ever go back to a glossy TV screen ever again. What a game changer!!
@@ashwinrexI have the 55” s95d and I was skeptical about a matte screen but it’s the best thing iv ever seen. @4:45 the LG B4 at 83 inches ALSO has the * a9 AI gen7 processor * and 144Hz VRR pretty much equals the C4 except no evo panel so not as bright but still brighter that C4 when gaming...
The B4 83" was tested by a german tec magazine... they measured 950 nits peak brightness. i would say that is bright enough. that is equal to a led tv which does 1800-2000nits.
I am very happy with this TV. I am curious to know whether Caleb knows that they chose to give the 83-inch version an upgraded a9 gen 7 processor unlike it’s smaller B4 siblings. And if so, would it change his recommendations?
@@rickkirgan2893 from what i see... 99% of the reviewers don't know, yet. even lg did not fix some wrong presentation on their homepage. in some areas the 83" inch is shown with a a8 gen 6 chip which is not true as we know
I still see this. Costco still has the a8 shown. I stopped in last week and told two reps that the 83'' has the a9 gen7 AI...they didn't believe me. I said go look on the box LOL. About your brightness post, I have seen levels around 660-685 so if any brighter that's a plus...but I will be viewing in a mostly dark room so should be good.

@@MISTERMASTER1234 WOLED is garbage and never trust these tech youtubers or LG fanboys. How can anyone buy a clearly inferior technology (WOLED) when we have QD-OLEDs? Its insane how stupid people are.
I dunno why people even consider LPee or Samdung televisions, their prices should be about 10 cents for 100 inches. Trash korean brands with cartoonish color calibration and horrible reliability. Sony is 100 leagues above, all days of the week. Buy Japanese, Sharp, Sony and Panasonic, they'll serve you reliably 10+ years, Sony may go to 100 years.
I wouldn't hold your breath on it, remember it was a great tech and works most importantly, but when it was out it was way too expensive. Also I think like other technologies in the past that have come out, 3D suffered a similar handicap by having too many formats and too many different confusing products that were incompatible with this thing, sometimes with even in the same brand. I can't remember exactly but I seem to recall maybe it was Samsung wherever you bought one level of their 3d TVs you had to buy one particular type of glasses and then if you had another type of their TVs you had to buy another type of glasses. I know for enthusiasts like ourselves it's not confusing, but for the average regular customer Joe who barely knows the difference between OLED and otherwise, it was confusing. And when things are confusing people don't want to mess with it.
Great video. I will say Samsung has a great Military discount. I picked up the 83inch S90D for about 3100 and it is fantastic! The C4 was almost 1,000 more at the time.
Absolutely loving my 77" S90D. I only watch at night with light control. QD OLED color volume is just sooo good. Only regret is lack of Dolby Vision for me.
Same here. Just saw both in the store and the colors of the C4 looked more natural. Samsung's looked...forced? Completely subjective from my end, though.
@@clephos that's why I'm leaning towards the LG. Brightness is nice but the colors on the S90D just come off, and I know some people will find this weird, too vivid. I find myself wanting to tone down the colors a bit more on the S90D.

So very maddening there ISN’T 1 REVIEW ANYWHERE OF THE LG B4 INTHE 83” VERSION. The 83” B4 has the same processor as the C4. The 83” B4 is a different tv from the smaller sizes yet nobody will review it. If the processor makes the B4 as good as the C4 we could save $800.

Hi Caleb, I’ve just purchased the OLED65B46LA. At the time of looking, there was also a OLED65B42LA, which is £300 cheaper. There is nothing that is obvious as to what is the difference between these models. I’ve never seen any reviews about these specific models as people just talk generically about the B4. Do you know anything more about what LG is doing?
I got the LG C3 last year and it went out after only 14 months. Fortunately, we has the 2 year extended warranty and had it replace with the C4 and after 10 weeks that OLED screen glitched for a few minutes and self corrected itself. Now we're just waiting until this screen goes out like the C3.
I bought a 55" G4, arriving tomorrow. Thinking about getting a professional calibration after about 300h of usage after seeing the videos from classy tech, not sure if it is worth the hustle (and cost)
I've just bought the lg g4 65". The settings are very good out of the box, so decided not to calibrate except for the Sports mode which was a bit too bright. Enjoy your new tv. The G4 is fantastic!
Got the 77” C4 this week, coming from a Philips entry level oled 706. I was a little concerned about WOW factor brightness but i can say i’m pretty blown away. Great purchase. Can only imagine how a G4 would be 😅
One unique feature of the Samsung S95D which was not discussed is the separate power/hdmi hub which is a huge benefit for tidy cable management especially if wall mounted.
I actually played this video for my buddy-in-law so he could have a reason for his wife why it's okay for me to get their family a new 77" LG C3, upgrading from their 16year-old 48". [] "Caleb said 'last year's model was the LG C3, so buy that one if you can.'" Hahaha.
The b4 was a home run for me. I was originally going to get a 65 in c4, because best but had it at a great price, but I could get a 77 in b4 for $100 more. It was $900 off so I couldn’t pass it up. Sacrificed a little bit of brightness for 12 of size, and I’m totally with it. All 4 inputs are hdmi 2.1 too so that’s a win too since my a/v receiver has hdmi 2.0 b and I have both consoles. I think people sleep on the b4

I've had my 77 inch a95l for a few weeks. I really needed to tinker with the picture settings before I was satisfied. People kept recommending to me Profesional picture mode but professional out of the box was too dark for me. For dolby vision I had to tinker with that too. But otherwise I'm satisfied with a95l's picture now.
what did you tinker beyond turning dolby vision on (I do bright in the day and dark at night with all lights off)? I got mine last week and been playing with it too (coming from LG CX)
@@seifbuysI replied to you and apparently it didn't post lmao but In professional mode in brightness tab I had brightness maxed out, gamma 0, black level 50, black adjust medium, advanced contrast enhancer medium, peak luminescene high I also enabled reality creation (set to auto) in clarity tab For dolby vision I used dolby vision bright instead of dark. Dolby vision dark was still too dark even after playing with the settings in brightness tab. For dolby vision bright it was bright enough but people in motion looked distracting to me so I had to play to go to motionflow to smoothness (film) min and smooth (camera) to max and I think that helped.
Also furthermore in DV bright I had color temp on expert 2 for a bit cuz I thought that was what I was supposed to do but apparently expert 1 is better
Also I forgot to add that I enjoyed how the picture looked in professional mode with black adjust, advanced contrast enhancer enabled so I had those enabled in dolby vision too ( iirc I don't think they were enabled out of the box) lol
I see, the thing is that I sometimes stream lower quality content and I’m afraid the processor on the S90D won’t be good enough for that type of content plus I don’t really need the extra brightness of the QD OLED to be honest since I watch TV at night time 99% of the time due to work
Editing error @ 7:22. You put a repeat of the C4's processor which was already said @ 7:11. In fact, I think 7:11 IS the mistake, and 7:22 was supposed to be the one to stay in the video. r_r

I'm having a hard time finding definitive info on how much brighter it is. I think SDR brightness is more important than HDR for them as they watch a lot of older stuff. Any help is appreciated.
The overall best OLED bang for your buck is probably the LG C4. It's got all the bells and whistles for gaming along with Dolby Vision and DTS passthrough for sound making it also great for streaming and watching Blu-ray discs.
Yeah I was gonna leave the store with the s95 for the anti glare screen but ended up leaving with the g4 after noticing the 5year panel warrenty my c1 panel went out after like 2and half years randomly and since the s95 77 and g4 were competing the same price I couldn’t turn down that free 5 year panel warranty but man that anti glare on s95 almost had me risking the shorter or add on warranty 🤣
Finally upgraded from a LG 55" UM73 to a 65" LG G4. Thank you for your recomendations. My wallet might be hurting, but i can't stop smiling at how awesome the G4 is.
@Cenkolino On the contrary. I watched way too many comparison videos. Decided to go with the G4 based on preference and what i use my TV for. Dolby Vision support on the G4 and the fact that i don't really need the anti glare screen on the S95D, were the deal breakers for me.
I finally saw the anti glare screen. That’s a thing of beauty for me. Much as I loveee glossy they way my eyes just felt less stressed by the Samsung antiglare screen made it add a few points. When I up grade it will be the front runner. I wish they sold anti glare add on screens

No reflections of a day time anymore and no reflections from lamps etc of an evening it is not detrimental to any of the graphics the colours with the qd panel just pop and the blacks are black!
It's crazy how expensive the technology was just over a decade ago.
Or, rather, inexpensive now. China, Korea, Taiwan, etc kicking out electronics is and has been the game-changer.
@4:45 the LG B4 at 83 inches ALSO has the * a9 AI gen7 processor * and 144Hz VRR pretty much equals the C4 except no evo panel so not as bright
but still brighter that C4 when gaming...
Replaced my burned in C1 with the A95L a few weeks ago. Absolutely love this TV.
@ I had it about 3 years, never had any problems. Burn in happened over about 3 weeks suddenly. Was in the shape of the Amazon prime logo. I think the TV got stuck on the logo one day when nobody was in the room.
Same here, upgraded from LG c1 to a95l in July. I will never go back to woled.
Still enjoying my A90j, but its nice to see the market of TVs are still solid at the moment. Hoping 3D OLED 4K might come back in the future.
Me too!
I've been going back and forth between the C4 and S90D. I'm leaning towards the C4 at the moment. Hope to get one around February.
I got the C3 in July during a clearance sale. Honestly best investment I've ever made. I'd recommend getting the LG Evo C4
Wrong choice get the s90D

Perfect and unbiased review. Currently looking to upgrade my old curved Samsung and your review has been really outstanding and helpful. Thanks a lot mate for your work.
+1 - it is strange how hard it is to find a proper review of the 83” LG B4. To double down on what this person shared, it is the only B4 model to have the SAME processor as the C4.
You already have reviews for both regular b4 and c4 series. There is nothing more to add.
@@Fear.of.the.Dark.yes there is. The 83” B4 is way different than the smaller versions
@ you still dont get it dont you? You already have c4 reviews. Just use that as baseline.
Just buy it, seems like a steal
Burn ins are a thing of the past with the newer Oleds right?
I just pulled the trigger on my first one this past Friday. I went with the G4. Waiting for the delivery.
I can’t wait.
Just bought a 77" S90D last month and I love it.
I got the 55in G4 a few weeks ago. This tv is crazy. Watching older movie's on it is wild too.
If you buy an Samsung S90D, you have to keep the panel lottery in mind. It does NOT always come with a QD-OLED Panel. It can also come with an WOLED Panel from LG, also at sizes of 55" and 65", so watch out
Worse, it could have a 2023 QD - OLED panel.
@@amitavraja3385I think it would be worse to have a WOLED panel vs an older generation QD-OLED panel.
The point is, if you buy a Samsung OLED, you do it (only) because of the QD-OLED. For WOLED, you go with LG, who are best in handling their own panels
I think the 65" one is usually the QD-OLED panel? the 55" one otoh seems to nearly always be W-OLED here in the UK
@@xtremeflux-m2g yeah he should’ve mentioned that instead of giving a blanket statement this is the best in the trench because he could end up with a LG panel.
I got a 55 inch S90D in September for $1,100. I couldn’t be happier. Gorgeous picture at a very attractive price.
When will your full review on the Panasonic Z95A be posted?
Picked up a 77 inch LG C3 for $1499 at Bestbuy and absolutely love it!
That deal was hard to beat ! I ALMOST went to get one, but I really want the 83 inch or larger...
Swapped out my 65" E9 for a 77” G4. I thought my old one was outstanding but the G4 surprised me how good it is. Especially the depth of the picture. At first i thought i was insane with placebo effect so had to look it up what other peoples thoughts were.(I was not wrong)
Brightness is almost too strong. Very punchy colors thanks to it.
I’m in the martlet to purchase either a LG G3 77 or G4 but can’t decide if the G4 is worth the cost. Let me know your thoughts
LG has a five year warranty? Well...now I'm thinking I might get my first OLED! The whole burn-in thing has made me shy away from OLEDs. Hmmm...so many good choices!
Only on the G4. c4 or B4 doesn’t hv warranty. G3 which is $300 cheaper than G4 has it also.
They've had this since the G1 at least, yeah. G series only has the 5 yr warranty. C series might also have a warranty albeit would be less like 3 years. Don't fact check me on that though.
Picking up the S90D in 77” tomorrow. $2199.00 but trading in an old 19” tv and Video Only giving $500.00 off for a price of $1699.00 which I think is a great deal.
Where you getting the trade in deal?

I was able to get my 77” Samsung S89C at $1650 this January 😁 best tv I’ve ever owned and people that come over, (even my in laws) say they’ve never seen a TV like mine and I got them into OLED TVs 😂
Super video. Contrary to most experts, to my surprise, I prefer the look of lcd tv over OLED tv.
🎉 high 5 ! Same with me n my family . A LOT ppl realize WOLED dated n pestle .
@manusargonar3031 what do you mean?
@manusargonar3031 Just use real Cinema and nothing else
I've just bought the lg g4 65". The settings are very good out of the box, so decided not to calibrate except for the Sports mode which was a bit too bright. Enjoy your new tv. The G4 is fantastic!
Great review, thanks! Time for CES 2025 and new TVs.....
Is that a Casiopea record in the background?
When you buy lg c series, important is to have sony next to it to make picture like sony, and you can
Getting one for primarily gaming, it’s either a LG b4 or spend 300 more and get the Samsung s90
Great review thank you. Going to the store today to compare the Samsung and LG. Will pull the trigger this afternoon on one of them. My current 10 year old LG is still going but showing signs of old age 😊
Caleb, I'm curious as to why we aren't getting reviews for the Sony TVs? No Bravia 8 review? No theater bar 8 review? Is Sony not sending stuff out to be reviewed or something? Thanks.
Great information & details again Caleb! I have a 4 year old LG OLED, and am still loving it.
Thank you sir. My first (real) tv is a Sony Bravia. 12 years old! Still looks great. Think I’m gonna stay with Sony for my new buy this year.
@@seifbuysI replied to you and apparently it didn't post lmao but
In professional mode in brightness tab I had brightness maxed out, gamma 0, black level 50, black adjust medium, advanced contrast enhancer medium, peak luminescene high
I also enabled reality creation (set to auto) in clarity tab
For dolby vision I used dolby vision bright instead of dark.

Hi Caleb! What about the Sony Bravia 8? Thanks
Brightness wise, seems on par with the LG C4
S90D killed it
@@tracer073 how about upscaling and processing?
@@lpromer4796 sony better there but you gonna enjoy the Samsung more, Sony is dull and dim
In fact, I think 7:11 IS the mistake, and 7:22 was supposed to be the one to stay in the video. r_r
Will the G5 improve the sound quality
Hey there enjoy the channel! My wife and I are building a house next year and so im wanting a really nice TV for the living room. Family movies, Sport games, people over entertainment! The two i was looking at were the 77" Samsung S95C and 75" Samsung QN900C . Do OLEDs make for good Living room tvs if they are on alot? I am a Big fan of Samsung products, thanks for any help and suggestions!
I have to correct you about S90D. Here in Europe, the 48", 55", 77" and 83", uses the W-Oled procured from LG. Only the 65" is fitted with the Quantum Dot- Oled panel. Similar story in the US.
Will there be a Panasonic z85a review?
I agree with the LG G4 processing beating Sony's.. I own both brands flagships and LG G4 Motion Is just Amazing on its own way maybe they trade blows.
bought an S89C QD-OLED from Bestbuy for 1800 - best deal ever for a range topping OLED (at the time) - 1000+ nits in brightness and crazy good color (could care less about DV)
Still love my C1
Im going out to buy the Samsung S90D QD OLED (AFXZA not AEXZA, be careful) This coming Friday.
Do Oleds still suffer from Videogame burn-in? I am on the fence about the 65” G4, but burn-in is what has been holding me back on an oled..
How about a miniLED version of this video?💯👍👍👍
Thx for the great list. Just a remark but I believe it would be better if you didn't show test video of snakes and spiders since quite a few ppl have phobias of those animals.
In europe Philips OLEDs are some of the cheapest. Would be nice to get some info about them.

Hi Caleb, I have ordered an S90D and a Sony A95L and have both at home to test. In direct comparison, these two TV's are worlds apart in brightness and color. I need a new TV for my bedroom and thought the S90D would be enough, but the comparison with the A95L is extreme for me. Are there any settings I can make on the S90 to improve the picture? Price S90 1150€ and A95L 2100 65 inch. I currently have an S95C in the living room and this is much better than the S90D Thanks in advance. Greetings Nino
Which size s90d did you get? If you're in europe and got the 55 inch then there's a good chance you go the W-OLED one rather than the QD OLED
@@nothanksggl6599 It is a 65 inch QOled panel. I'm surprised because even my S95C has a much better picture. But I wouldn't have thought that the difference between the S90 and the A95L would be so big.

We have a wall mounted 77" LG from 2020 and want to go to 83". I think that's the largest that will fit the space and viewing distance. Do you have a video reviewing the larger high end sets? Thanks, nice channel...
What’s a good budget 85” tv
I just got my parents a 55" LG B4, but it is a bit dim in their living room. Is the C4 enough of a noticeable brightness increase to be worth it? I'm having a hard time finding definitive info on how much brighter it is. I think SDR brightness is more important than HDR for them as they watch a lot of older stuff. Any help is appreciated.
The overall best OLED bang for your buck is probably the LG C4. It's got all the bells and whistles for gaming along with Dolby Vision and DTS passthrough for sound making it also great for streaming and watching Blu-ray discs.
dont underestimate the b4. specialy in 83"
thanks Caleb, you're a big help👍
From what I understand not all S90Ds in the US are QD OLED. The 83 inch in particular. Is that true? Thanks and great video.
Yeah I was gonna leave the store with the s95 for the anti glare screen but ended up leaving with the g4 after noticing the 5year panel warrenty my c1 panel went out after like 2and half years randomly and since the s95 77 and g4 were competing the same price I couldn’t turn down that free 5 year panel warranty but man that anti glare on s95 almost had me risking the shorter or add on warranty 🤣
does samsung allow dolby vision and atmos through a firesstick or google cast?
Finally upgraded from a LG 55" UM73 to a 65" LG G4. Thank you for your recomendations. My wallet might be hurting, but i can't stop smiling at how awesome the G4 is.
Big mistake. How can you buy the G4 when you could buy a S95D? Are you people blind and dont watch comparison videos?
@Cenkolino On the contrary. I watched way too many comparison videos. Decided to go with the G4 based on preference and what i use my TV for. Dolby Vision support on the G4 and the fact that i don't really need the anti glare screen on the S95D, were the deal breakers for me.
I know it's not a TV from 2024 but still
Where would you place the Sony A80J in this classification?
I finally saw the anti glare screen. That’s a thing of beauty for me. Much as I loveee glossy they way my eyes just felt less stressed by the Samsung antiglare screen made it add a few points. When I up grade it will be the front runner. I wish they sold anti glare add on screens
Why was there no review of the B4 ?
