Hey all!! ❤️🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧 Disclosure: We are aware that the Lay's Mushroom Crisps are not British 😄😄😄😄
They were included in the package as the sender (KevPage) found them in a local shop and thought we would enjoy the flavor profile (they are Polish I believe).
We included them on the taste test video simply because they were a part of the box sent 😁😁😁😁
People get mad about the weirdest things
Spices aren’t just hot. I see that Americans always assume spicy means HOT 🥵 Also Snaps are more a kids crisp so they’re not going to be hot.
Agreed. Americans seem to associate spice with heat but things like nutmeg and cumin and turmeric are spices.
@@SgtSteel1 I follow a channel on TH-cam called Tribal Try. They’re 4 Pakistani men that try food from all around the world, mainly America. I’m always surprised when they comment on it being spicy or the spices, even when it’s just normal salt and pepper ha.
yep idiots
Thanks so much!! 😁😁😁😁 Here in the US, if it says "Spicy" it always ALWAYS means "Hot"!!
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor it’s fine 😀, I’ve noticed it with all American videos where they try food so I thought something must be different. Here if it was hot, it’d probably say hot or chilli or have a rating on the front of mild to really hot.
Bacon Wheat Crunchies are elite.
If it helps the term spicy on our things tends to lean towards spices for example paprika cumin corriander rather than chilli spice. if you want chilli heat look for things like flaming hot or heatwave and of course hot chilli. I wouldnt say thats a blanket rule though. But i will agree our chilli levels arent that high as yours. Same as sour stuff.
Ahhhh makes sense!! Here in the US "spicy" always 100% of the time is marketed for hot snacks / foods 😅😅😅😅
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor I'll also add our spice influences come from India. And yours are more Mexican/south American. I think the chilli pepper was actually introduced to India from the Americas. But I may of pulled that out of my arse!
Nutmeg is a spice, cinnamon is a spice, spice does not have to be hot. The spicy toms and bikers are marketed towards kids
Completely understandable!! Here in the US "spicy" always 100% of the time is marketed for hot snacks / foods 😅😅😅😅
Don't quote me, but the first, spicy tomato snaps, I think is aimed more at the younger children, which usually means less flavour to what an adult palet is used to. So more a slight flavour rather than full on spicy 'kick'! Monster Munch is going on to the older kids, (& a lot of adults, esp pickled onion flavour), & the Walkers Max for flavour, for example are aimed towards adults more! If that makes sense. But that's only my opinion!
Yeah I agree with this as a pretty accurate summary. It made sense to me, at least.
Nothing to do with crisps.. but you need to try some black pudding ..we fry it in slices as part of our English Breakfast Fry up..
Egg..sausages..bacon.. black pudding..baked beans..hash browns..fried bread (you shallow fry a piece of bread in hot oil)
Sets you up for the day..🇬🇧💕🙏✝️👍👏🇺🇸
I would like to wish my son Zack Stroud a big Happy 32 Birthday which was on the May 26th.
Thanks Dad ❤️
That must have been a dodgy bag of wheat crunchies because they are top tier and full of flavour normally
Fair comments on the taste & spiciness of British Crisps & snacks, but one thing to remember is that most of these snacks are targeted at children in Britain( not to say adults don't eat them), which might explain why the spiciness is tame by American standards .
Spicy doesn't mean hot here in the UK.
It means it has spices, if something is supposed to be hot, it'll say hot on the packaging.
I don't understand how someone from the UK doesn't know this.
@@deano2506 Because the word 'spicy' in other parts of the world means hot, so they would assume spicy is hot.
The rest of the world is probably wondering why the UK doesn't know this.
If you want heat then Seabrook's Fire Eaters Scorchin' Hot Trinidad Scorpion Chilli crisps is what you need. Eat just half a bag of those and you can see through time itself.
😂😂😂
Agreed. These make you hear colours and smell sounds.
Mark has transitioned into a chemistry teacher circa 1978 :)
Hahahahhaha classic!!
Our family have a small wager on how many times you guys say the name "Spicy Bikers" in this clip... hope you don't let me down;)
Now we're curious to know the expected numbers 🤣😂🤣😂
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor 4, 6 and 8... think we heard 6 so Inara won;)
@@KevPage-Witkicker Inara for the win! 🏆
For very hot crisps should try walkers max jalapeno and cheese
Ooooo that sounds amazing!!!
can confirm these are mighty powerful, im munching some right now, nom nom nom
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor Best crisps ever, but not too spicy/hot. Just the right amount of heat.
My favourite too, I was just about to type try jalapeno and cheese but now I don't need too😂
Mushroom flavoured are an eastern European variety of crisps
....oh dear..it was prophesied, the day Mark (Dave) is clad in sleeves the unholy one will be born 🔥🔥🙌🙌🤪
Taylor had a haircut? And yes spicey more means spices over here we didnt conquer the word for nothing 😂😂
😂😂😂
Those creamy mushroom lays are definitly not British, we don't get Lays for one. Interesting soundiung flavour though.
don't expect anything 'spicy' to be hot with UK stuff... If it's meant to be hot, it'll be hot and spicy. As other people have said, spicy is that it has spices and you should be able to taste them whereas the Walkers were hot and spicy, monster munch are Flamin' hot etc.
The Lay's aren't British, if they are to be found on sale over here then they will have been imported, probably from Poland where Lay's have a giant factory.
Lads, they are bar snacks. Have a nice cold beer with them next time. 😊🍺👍
They ought to bring back the other flavours of snaps ...smokey bacon ones 😋 were my favourite
I'm in mourning for Spicy Chilli Big Hula Hoops... and sausage and tomato Golden Wonders
@KevPage-Witkicker they still make Sausage and Tomato flavour. I've had them
I used to love tomato and the cheese Snaps as a kid, didn't even know they ever did smoky bacon WTH!?! 😮 I want them.
The cheese ones were amazing.
Smiths are a more old fashioned British company, formed after WWI, and were once the biggest crisp makers in the UK! Now of course, Walkers dominate. Have you tried twiglets, skips, and different flavours of hula hoops yet?
I can remember the Old Smith's crisp factory on Portsdown Hill just outside Portsmouth in the early60's
I 100% agree with all your ratings 😊 those £1 crisps are more for younger kids, and often only sold in newsagents here in Kent, UK, but I still like em 😂❤
Shows how our taste buds are different wheat crunchies are one of the best flavoured crisps there is.. your buggin they must of been out of date lol 😂
Because British foods say "spicy" doesn't mean it's spicy as in "hot", just means ghey contain spices. If it say "hot" then yes they'll have heat.
spice doesn't always mean hot lads
Good job dave(mark) and zach arent sat together otherwise they would look like the 2 ronnies 😂😂 great video boys
Spicy Bikers are the Golden Wonder branding for what has been simply known as Tayto "Bikers" in Northern Ireland since i was a kid in the 90s. Tayto bought Golden Wonder in 2006.
Here in the UK spicy doesn't mean hot, if the crisp says hot then it's your spicy.
Quick. Someone send them Chilli Heatwave Doritos, they know the flaming hot out the window
You guys make my day, I love the way Mark has taken the Dave identity with such grace. Legend!
Mark is a true legend!!
We don't get Lays in the uk, well I don't think we do but they sounded lovely.
Quite a lot of the Polish shops stock them. They're imported though.
@@JamesLMason If you walk into a polish shop as a brit, I am sorry to say they can be quite funny with you and make you feel uneasy that you have walked into their shop.
@@lizvickers7156 I'm sorry that you've had that experience, I've shopped in many of them and never come across this. The one I worked next door to did a lovely selection of kabanos.
@@JamesLMason I worked with alot of polish and they were lovely. It's just a few of the polish shops round where I live they don't seem to like Brits walking in.
OMD Snaps and Wheat Crunchies.
Guys we can only buy Lays crisps in Polish shops, I have one round corner from me that does Lays Green Onion (spring onion) basically Lays is Walker's we just kept the name Walker's in UK as it was already established and well known, same company 2 different names, 1 for UK 1 for rest of world
I think the bacon crisp you were trying to remember was Frazzles..
YES that's the ones!! 😁😁😁😁
Spicy in the U.K. can mean tangy and not all spices are hot.
Tangy is an accurate description.
Looking forward to this! 👍
I need to get my hands on some of those mushroom lays 😍
Smiths are owned by Walkers and appear on a few products, Frazzles, bacon fries and scampi fries
Don't forget Smiths Square crisps salt and vinegar!
If only we didn't stop producing Smiths Cheesy Moments (they came in the same packaging as Scampi/Bacon Fries, bit had a Dark Green border) when I worked at a local pub, a pack of those gave me a 5 minute joy. Love the content guys. And all the wrestling shirts.
They were OMD for sure, Scampi Fries just arent sociable around a table haha.
I used to buy Moments in bulk, best snacks ever. I had to spend a week in a dark room when they stopped making them. I read somewhere wouldn't be gone forever and would return at some point. I'm still holding out...
Big wrestling fans here!!
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor Dunno how much you know about the UK wrestling scene, in the 70s and early 80s there was a bit of a peak with it, prime-time tv on a Saturday, fans all across the nation. Our top wrestlers were Big Daddy (face, rather over-rated IMO, main attack was the gut-barge) Giant Haystacks (Heel, and true giant of a man), Kendo Nagasaki, Les Kellett (invincible little pig farmer) and many others. Worth a dive or reaction I reckon... Giant Haystacks had a short stint in the USA as The Loch Ness Monster but it was near retirement and I don't think he made waves.
I absolutely love Wheat Crunchies!! How can they be not my cuppa T? 🤦🏻♀️ They are top tier!!! …Also love Frazzles too!!
I'm wondering if that Lays was brought somewhere in Europe, most likely France or Germany. Lays is not from England.
Polish shop or Eastern European bit of a supermarket
Smiths is a -very- old crisp brand, like over 100 years. Smiths and Walkers were both bought by Pepsi. They retained the brand for a few products like Chipsticks (which you need to try) but most were changed over to Walkers.
I have never seen Lays in England, I equate that brand with the US. Is that flavour an Irish outing?
Loving this content
The bacon snack you couldn't recall is Frazzles
YES that's it!!
Yeah, Snaps are crisps for kids. They’re nice, but never going to be as spicy as an adult would think
Spicy is more a flavour profile than a heat unit. If uk wants heat in crisps we use terms as Flaming, Hot, fire etc.
Mark looks like totally different guy it a t shirt lol 😊
You have to do a recap video on each person picking the top 3 thungs you have tasted from the UK
It’s a shame that Seabrooks don’t do their Carolina Reaper and Ghost pepper crisps anymore. I would be interested to see a rating on those if they ever get released again.
Love all bobbys crisps lol. Them snax were enjoyed by all my kids as tots.
oh my days
Taylor is the resident Brit, Dave is definitely looking french musketeer-ish. Zack and Josh need to reveal their European alter egos.
All in due time 🤣😂🤣😂
Yh spicy has a different meaning here... doesn't mean hot otherwise it would say hot n spicy or hot
Snaps are the absolute best
Seabrooks do a series of very spicy crisps. Each mote spicy than the last.
The spiciest are scorpion and have a great flavour and heat level.
Ummm .. Americans seem to ignore every other spice profile besides heat. When we say spiced or spicy, it’s not always going to be hot! Heat is one aspect. Also, some of these like Snaps are targeted for children snacks which makes them low on the heat
Completely understandable!! Here in the US "spicy" always 100% of the time is marketed for hot snacks / foods 😅😅😅😅
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor Hahahah .. that is confusing to me. What do you call other spices or do you never have crisps with spice flavours? :o
You need to try aldi specially selected garlic bread flavoured crisps
spicy as in spices not in heat, like paprika nutmeg etc are a spices but not spicy, if you get what i mean lol
Yeah that's our bad, here in the US "spicy" always 100% of the time is marketed for hot snacks / foods 😅😅😅😅
When you guys get enough OMDs you could pit them all against each other to decide which one is The Dog's Bollocks :)
Those bbq snax are my faves
UK has texture ….and..flavour ❤❤❤
Oh my days I need to find those lays mushroom crisps
What "Spice" do you expect to taste?
Anyone can throw in a couple of Ghost Peppers, a handful of Jalapeño's with the seeds in and a Komodo Dragon for good luck!
Whether you can taste anything for week after is another matter!
I know, you want them like your cars, overpowered, no traction and out of control, all Torque and no BHP from a 7.7.
Yeah that's our bad, here in the US "spicy" always 100% of the time is marketed for hot snacks / foods 😅😅😅😅
Walkers Creamy Forest Mushroom Crisps? Never seen these in the UK!
Should try walkers max jalepeno crinkle crisps - they are spicy
Wheat crunches are epic
Sending someone Spicy Bikers could be considered an act of war. I'm sure people have been on trial at the Hague for less. I feel sorry for you guys being put through that.
Lays are popular across main land Europe.
Wheat Crunchies used to come in Grilled Steak flavour too, but they stopped making them years ago, and just kept the bacon flavour ones!
Shame really, because the grilled steak ones were the best of the two, imho!
Wheat crunches are my favourite I think kinda like bugles
No lays in the uk we have walkers
this new Dave fella looks like Professor Denzil Dexter and his sidekick Dave from the Fast Show, check him out..............Daaaaave
Smith's snapp aren't a hot spice snake ,thay are good with a cheese sandwich . Kid's like them as thay aren't hot . Lays souer cream and chives are good .I make a bay that size do 4days, with a sandwich. I addmer you for doing what YOU do .Take care and all the best. 😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍
Bobbys should have been onion rings not the bbq snax and I thought you would have loved the wheat crunchies crispy bacon but use must have got a stale bag it happens but there usually top notch
Man's gotta learn to shake the bags before they open them.
Sorry wasn't there for live. Was at work till 8 but good video again..... loved it again 🤗
Spicey Tomato Snaps are very bland. This wasn't always the case. I remember them being coated in a lovely spicey powder. Every bite was a joy. I have tried them a few times in recent years and they have nothing in common with the Snaps of old, apart from the name. Smiths should discontinue them if they can't be bothered to flavour them as per the title.
We dont have Lays in the UK we have Walkers and we dont have creamy mushroom flavour x dont know WHERE them crisps are from x
These crisps are aimed a market for children hence why there not really spicy
spicy tomato wheat crunchies are the heroin of crisps
You may have forgotten these are childrens snacks on the whole so wont get really spicy flavours
Nobody eats these in the UK, usually bought for the kids
Don't think the second pack were uk crisps, never seen or heard of mushroom flavour 🤔
always shake the bags before opening . spread the flavour
We'll def have to remember that for next time!!
My wife thinks I'm nuts when I turn the bag upside down and shake them. She doesn't get it
Smiths were the 1st in the uk to package crisps
Have u guys tried quavers or skips yet? X
Wheat crunchies are not my cup of tea. My hubby and son love them, I think they are bloody disgusting! Love Bobbys crisps tho, they do a lovely bbq puff crisp, (like a wotsit) very tasty.
Anyone found Branigans Beef & Mustard??? They seem to of dissapeared off the shelves in recent years
They were top tier!!
Used to be available at poundshop, but they've gone for good.
@@Trebor74 Such a shame. They were the best in my opinion
SKIPS you haven't tried skips yet!!!!!!!!!
at least there was no nest-L in it. and there wasnt strawberry custard on them ;)
...this time 🤣😂🤣😂
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor dunn dun dun *wiggles eyebrows*
Americans need dictionary’s with dinner
Oh ok you guys really don't like Wheat Crunchies:) They get a Uk Ok from me. The Worcestershire Sauce ones go to Lovely.
We would absolutely give the crunch an though!!
Literally nothing that says spicy is actually spicy in the UK. The hottest crisps we have are Max Strong Jalapeño and cheese Walkers, also Hot Chicken Wings Max Strong. Great vid guys 😊
Take off the specs and mild mannered Mark Kent becomes… super Dave? Dave man?
4.30 Lays aren't British thus not made here, Pepsi Co use the trading name 'Walkers' in the UK so those must be made elsewhere in Europe
What NO Strawberry flavoured ones! 😁👍
Why don't you lads use some lemon water to clean your palets between tasting anything....especially anything that's spicy etc.
"Spice" seems to have become synonymous with "Painful", because of R-Words trying to eat Carolina Reapers and winding up in the hospital.
Snaps are mainly for children so it’s not gonna be hot❤
