Who remembers Walkers BBQ flavour in the black bag. 😢 better times
And just the cheese ones and tomato ketchup
Yes. And sausage and tomato. And baked beans. Those were great. Flavours now are so boring.
The best flavour they ever did and the first to all get eaten in a multipack. Me and my wife still bring them up in conversation haha
Oh yes.
Best of going to corner shops, shop near me has all the lays flavours, bbq, tomato, grilled bacon all sorts 2 quid for big bag we’ll worth it
Walkers sensations Thai sweet chilli are what you really need to try.
Yeah they are very good
say less
I think they did already.
McCoy's Thai Sweet Chicken beats Walkers Thai Sweet Chili any day of the week
Roast chicken a thyme flavour sensations are amazing as well
Cheese and Onion McCoys is the food of the Gods, perfect with a sarnie and a steaming mug of tea
.Cultural note: To share the crisps in the UK - especially in a pub environment - the packet is ripped down the side to open it up and placed in the middle of the table :)
You're correct, however the empty packet then cannot be folded into a triangle afterwards.
Glad the Thai sweet chicken won! They are top tier, along with the Thai sweet chilli sensations
What a wonderful crisp!!
I get them in Asda.. 2 packets of 6 for £5 so 12 bags in total
@@BLANKSnooneaskedforwhere tf is bacon sizzler
Prawn cocktail has no fish! Its cocktail sauce flavour (Marie Rose)
I never knew that about prawn cocktail crisps and I'm 40 🤣. I don't like prawns but like prawn cocktail crisps .... It's all making sense now 🥵🥵
That is correct however the McCoys are King Prawn flavoured not Prawn cocktail so should be tasting more of prawn
@@garyfearon5637😂 likewise
if you want a fish flavoured crisp scampi fries from smiths (walkerS) is the one you go for
Paprika best
Brannigans Roast Beef and Mustard crisps would be interesting 😂
Oh yeah buddy. Not had those bad boys for years
Not had (or really seen those) in ages.
Used to f'ckin' adore 'em with a pint of Boddingtons twenty years ago...
Ham & Pickle were my favourite. unfortunately they’ve been discontinued for years. Remember the think paper back ones you used to only get in pubs? , my god 😍
@@paulleach3612 they used to be in a paper style packet back then, I had seen them in recent years infrequently, just read they’ve been discontinued, sad times.
I bought a bunch of them on Amazon a couple years ago, after finding out they had been discontinued
Planned to keep them for a while, ended up finishing them all in a couple days 😛
For my sins I used to work at KP foods Billingham in the North East of England as a packing room engineer. KP Foods is the home of McCoys. The bags are filled with nitrogen gas to keep them fresh, but it looks like yours got crushed in transit. One good perk of the job was you could eat as much of the product as you wanted as they used us as a kind of line quality control. Got to admit warm flavoured crisps before they are packed are OMDs!
Yeah I'd say that's a pretty good perk! 😁😁😁😁
Used to have family members work there and we cud get a massive bag of crisps for £1 was amazing 😂
I used to work at the "crispy" in Billingham in 1976
It is surprisingly still there. Unlike a lot of the industry in this area
Cheese and onion crisps in a sarnie, yum, even better in a cheese sandwich. Sister likes salt and vinegar sarnies with salad cream and sometimes pickled beetroot.
Sw England here. Mccoys are the daddies of all crisps. Appreciate the content gents gave me a chuckle for sure 😂
Nice to see zack has taste buds unlike the rest 😂😂😂 flame grilled steak all the way and steak sirlion medium rare
Let's go William! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
The prawn cocktail flavour is mayonnaise mixed with Heinz ketchup and if you chop up pickles and add them to the mix it makes a great addition to burgers. Now here in the UK we don't just have beef burgers, We can get pork and apple, Venison and minted lamb as well. A walkers crisp sandwich is heaven. We take our crisps very seriously over here.
Love how taylor just smashes the rest of the bag😂
Hahahah no crisp left behind!!
I'm so glad the chap on the right finished off that first bag.
Salt n vinegar disco crisps will give you that effect and more as it makes your mouth tingle!
Thanks Guys, that has taken me around 3 hours to catch up on your back catalogue of UK taste tests! Great work! I like the dynamic between you all....from Taylor's facial expressions, to Josh being the 'Simon Cowell' of judging.....and hoping for that long awaited OMD! Have just subscribed and look forward to the rest of the content from that huge box of goodies!
Awesome thanks so much for checking us out!! Have fun with all of the catch up! 😁😁😁😁
Really appreciate the wholesomeness of your channel - very uplifting - splendid in fact 😁
Thank you!! We just try to share some laughter and entertainment with you all 😁😁😁😁
Back in the 80's (before you guys were probably born) we had Hedgehog flavour crisps, they were lush with a warm pint of flat bitter. Cheers
I still have a ‘Hedgehog’ crisp packet; ‘though sadly empty, alas. 😁
@@MrPercy112 weren't they tasty? I loved them but they didn't seem to last long
They were a limited edition, just meant as a bit of fun. 😁
@@MrPercy112 I remember mate, no hedgehogs were harmed in the making of them. We had some great flavours for crisps and twiglets, monstermunch etc. Worst ones here in Thailand are like monstermunch but chocolate or vanilla flavour 🤮
@@wheyayeman404 Good old Liz always game for a laugh
The moo crew know that the sweet chicken ones are the best.
Hahahaha The Moo Crew!
Omd, I'd love to come to America and have a beer with you, fellas. You guys are the most normal lads I've seen from America since I got mortally drunk with a guy from Denver, top bloke, and an amateur magician to boot, he kept us all entertained whilst working away from home in Manchester, your personalities remind me of him, keep it tight fellas and good luck with the channel, best wishes from NE England.
Thank you for the kind words!! We're just a couple of buddies having a good time and eating some good foods 😁😁😁😁
😂😂
Walkers Worcester Sauce or/and Roast Chicken flavour are my favourites
I miss Worcester sauce crisps. They were my favourite. Don’t really like any other flavours
Worcester sauce flavour is great, not a massive fan of roast chicken it just tastes a bit like 3 day old chicken leftovers.
@@judithdunn3248 I'm almost certain Seabrooks still make them!
@@DaveBartlett not the same. Walkers had a nicer taste and a stronger flavour to me.
Me watching this whilst stuffing my face with a bag of McCoys sat in the heart of North West England 😂
I like the way you all dip into the bags again.😂😂😂😂
McCoy's are the best crisps in the UK in my opinion, salt and vinegar, ready salted and then flame grilled steak are my favourite.
They're nice in a ham sandwich.
so good in ham sandwhich especially flame grilled
Seabrooks are good also, but more common in the north, although you can buy them down south now more regularly.
Mc Coys crisps are way too crunchy thus a unpleasant experience on the teeth; soft crisps like Monster Munch, KP Skips, and Quavers are better.
@@PSYCHIC_PSYCHO yeah good for 3 years and older
Absolutely super, chaps; that had me dribbling down my cravat . So much so that I’ve jolly well subscribed to your excellent channel ❤🇬🇧
We love dips with our crisps in the uk. Regular crisp we have as beer snacks. We dip tortilla chips in dips mostly. But the best crisps and dips is the indian restaurant option, you have to try poppadoms with all the chutneys and spicy pickles, they're unreal!
My fave way of eating steak is a vert british steak and ale pie 🤤
I'm so glad y'all liked the thai sweet chicken! my favourite mcCoys crisp (chip) ever! great video guys as always keep up the good work!
Thanks as always for your comment, greatly appreciated!! 😁😁😁😁
My favourite have always been the steak ones, will have to try the sweet Thai ones now ! Thanks for the video guys🎉
Yes it is worth the try and the retry! 😁😁😁😁
Mexican chilli up thr with Thai chicken
Can't beat the good old cheese and onion
I think the flavours of uk crisps are more subtle because we use them alot in the uk as an accompliment to a sandwich and often put them in a sandwich to add that ceunch texture with the softness of the bread and butter .
Here in the UK a lot of shops (supermarkets but also chemists...) sell meal deals, so you get a main (usually a sandwich), a snack (crisps, chocolate bar etc) and a drink at a discounted price. They're very popular, anyway recently one of them - I think Tesco - revealed the most popular combination and it included McCoys steak crisps.
Very enjoyable reaction vid. I like that your opions are always considered rather than knee-jerk and there's no "I don't like this" before you've actually tried anything. HP and Daddies being sauces of your choice is also awesome guys. I don't really eat chips/crisps but McCoys and Walkers are the only ones worth trying - not sure we dip our crisps either (I wouldn't). One miss from seven is a good result for our crisps!
An awesome comment, we really appreciate it and we're glad to be a part of your week! 😁😁😁😁
Dipped in sour cream are you serious the lad in the glasses is hilarious they are just crisps for goodness sake
If you find a salted packet of crisps, it will usually be labelled as Ready Salted. This is because the first crisps had a small, blue bag of salt in the crisp packet, which you added yourself (they are still sold, I'm pretty sure they were Smith brand, but I might be wrong). Ready Salted came later.
They 2 they loved also my fav - Flame Grilled Steak and Thai Sweet Chicken
Oh my days can't wait it's Tuesday blanks and a McCoy's special lovley
Gonna be a good day, we can feel it 😁😁😁😁
Yes!!!! Can’t wait for this video. It’s a shame they stopped making the Mexican Chilli flavour, they were the best.
@@TheDirtyClownAw yeah for sure, didn't they do a chorizo one too for a while?
@@KevPage-Witkicker that’s right! They were bangin, I keep meaning to try the chip shop curry flavour 🤤
I hate McCoys crisps 🙁. Wish I didn’t as thats all they seem to sell round here besides naff Walkers. British crisps have really gone downhill.
Thai sweet chicken, walkers Thai sweet chili sensations and Doritos heat wave are my go to chips/crisps.
Completely agree. I can also go for Walkers Max Paprika if nothing else is available, but those first 3 are hands down the best the UK has to offer
I can literally taste the crisps as they pop them in their mouths 😂 Real McCoys are daddy crisps.
For me it's a Rib-eye steak still mooing on the plate i.e. cooked blue. 🥩
True story - I used to work for an American company in the UK. One time I was in France with a work colleague who had travelled over from Texas. We went out for dinner & ordered steaks. When asked how he wanted his steak cooked the Texan said "cremated". The waiter did not understand & when he did finally get what was meant by the word "cremated" he said that this was not possible. An argument ensued as the guy from Texas adopted the "customer is always right" stance & insisted that he got the steak the way he wanted it. In the end the chef came out of the kitchen & told our man from Texas that he had to choose something else from the menu because he could not possibly bring himself to over cook a piece of quality steak that way. Our man from Texas ended up with a Lasagne instead!
French Chefs & waiters often throw a tantrum when Brits ask for their steak "Bien Quit" (well done) as it's not the done thing to have over cooked steak in France & elsewhere in Europe.
As for chips / crisps I'm a Cheese & Onion guy, normally between to slices of buttered bread with a drizzle of Heinz Salad Cream.
Al Bundy quote " Give me the biggest steak you have and nuke it"
Chips are dipped in Ketchup. Crisps are put in sandwiches
Never thought I’d be sat here watching some lads eating crisps on my break, but here we are 😂 you need some wotsits, space raiders, squares crisps 😎
And some Discos and Frisps
And some Discos, Frisps, Quavers and Skips
@@TSotP this sounds like a parody to the “LIONS, TIGERS AND BEARS OH MY” from wizard of oz 😂
@@QueenSudzOG lol, it wasn't intentional lol.
How to describe.
Discos are a bit like pringles, only if each Pringle was smaller, round and about 2-3× thicker. Their flavour is quite intense though.
Frisps are also a bit like pringles, only with a crispier, airier texture (as well as ridged).
Wotsits are like Cheetos
Not sure about what quavers are like in America. I similar-ish texture to bugles, but only made from potato, and in little curled up twists.
Skips are a little like Chinese style prawn crackers. Only they are much smaller, and only come in prawn cocktail flavour.
Squares are a bit like frisps, only square, and less crispy and more hard.
All of these crisps are machine made potato type snacks. More like funions, and less like Lays
Does that make any sense?
(Also, i'm assuming you don't know what these things are, my apologies if you do lol)
@@TSotP nah it’s okay, I’m from the UK; so I’ve had a few of these in my lifetime 😂 but thank you for going so in-depth - that’s very sweet ☺️
I love how the guy on the right (sorry first vid of seeing U guys so don't know his name) keeps going back with every packet 😂😂 I'm an English girl an yeah I agree with Ur ratings! Xx
As a general rule we dont dip our crisps, its more of a nacho thing or tortilla chip. Most ppl will dip Doritos but not walkers and other typical crisps
What has my life come to 😂😂😂 watching men eat crisps 😂 im here for it!
When our bags of crisps have little air, we usually expect to find the crisps soft, due to a leak.
I remember someone mentioned that cheese and onion packs were green because of Booker T song Green Onions.
Oh snap they sent u the curry sauce, thats new, and 🔥🔥🔥
Yes we have dips. They sell fresh dips at most supermarkets. Salsa Sweet Chili Hummus & Guacamole are my favorites
I’m loving chilli and maple honey parsnip crisps at the moment they are OMDs
Interesting one guys. I need to get some sweet chilli ones. Love a nice thick cut sirloin, medium rare of course!
One day you should try Walkers sensations, chicken and thyme. I'm trying to think of a flavour I like more and can't come up with one.
The chinese spare rib ones were incredible and they stopped making them.
Tesco finest beef and horseradish
Mmmm sounds good to us! 😁😁😁😁
Tayto cheese onion are fantastic. Made at Castle Tayto Armagh, Northern Ireland. Tayto make for the top four supermarkets in the UK and Ireland.
If you add a good sprinkling of Worcestershire sauce to plain crisp the flavour is great!
I’ve never even considered doing that - I’ll give it a go!
I'm English and I've never seen those yellow bag Curry Sauce ones before. Love the rest with my favourite 3 being Thia Chicken, Plain (Red bag) and King Prawn in that order!
You guys needs to try nik naks especially rib n saucy flavour
I'm a Nice n Spicy girl. I'm not allowed to buy multipacks anymore, because they just vanish.
@@JustMe-ks8qc they are a very close 2nd .both flavours are so moorish!
They ain’t the same anymore
Scampi & Lemon 🤤
Its got to be British lamb manx lamb takes the top prize for me guys. I do love steak tho. Gotta be very rare tho. If you ever have a large Yorkshire pudding filled with Juicy lamb steamed veg roast potatoes roasted parsnips. Pigs in blankets (sausage wrapped in bacon )Gravy made from the fat from cooking the meat and some mint sauce on the side. Desert white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. Heaven awaits! I am so lucky my mrs is a great cook! Best crisps? Co op brand salt and vinegar. They awesome..
I don't get that all the time. It's a very special treat
Usually a Sunday roast is small Yorkshire pudding roast potatoes pork beef or a chicken. Not every weekend tho. Depends if my gannet of a son and or parents are coming for her to do a big roast.
They used to make a "Grilled onion" flavour of McCoys that were easily the best but I haven't seen them in over 20 years.
The chemistry between you 4 reminds me of me and my buds, earned a new subscriber keep it up lads
Cheese and onion flavour in a sandwich.....banging
Brannigans - honey and mustard. Thank me later
Brannigans are no more. Not in the UK anyway.
Mccoys are great crisps, the flame grilled steak my fav 👍 great reviews
Thank you!! 😁😁😁😁
In the UK, a lot of salt and vinegar (and other flavoured) crisps from all brands (including Pringles) differ in strength and saltiness from batch to batch. It's a weird thing which I wish they would sort out. I LOVE super strong salt and vinegar. Seabrooks do the strongest ones but sometimes even theirs are sometimes weak. It all depends on the batch you get.
Yes l agree with Zack.. cheese and chive dips make a salted CRISP
Theres a lesser known brand of british crisps called slabs, not ridged but thicker than a mccoy crisp, flavours are strong too, really worth trying..
Favourite cut of steak: Fillet. (Favourite cut of steak I can afford more than once or twice a year: Sirloin or Rib-eye.)
How I like it served: very, VERY rare (almost 'blue')
I was once in a restaurant when I ordered my steak 'very rare'. The waitress explained that they had a French chef, and that his definition of rare/medium/well-done wasn't the same as most British people expected.
She explained: "If you ask for it well-done, it will probably hit the pan, he'll shake it about on one side, then the other, until it sizzles, then it goes onto the plate."
"If you ask for it medium, he'll drop it in the pan, immediately turn it over, then put it on the plate."
"If you ask for it rare, he'll just stroke each side of the steak against a hot pan, and that will be it: ready to serve."
Knowing that she was exaggerating a little bit, I laughed and asked: "So what if I order it blue?" to which she replied: "Well, he'll hold up a hot pan in one hand, hold up the steak in the other hand, then say to the steak: 'Look, there's a pan' and then he'll drop it onto the plate!"
The waitress was the chef's wife and co-owner of the restaurant. In reality he was an excellent chef, she was a lovely lady and they ran a marvellous restaurant. My wife and I dined there on all our special occasions for years, (their Chateaubriand was incomparable,) and they even had their 'gourmet' nights on Wednesdays which we attended whenever we could, (they didn't object to a couple of gourmands among the gourmets!) When they closed the restaurant and moved away, it was a hell of loss to our dining experiences.
Flame Grilled Steak is my go to from all these Crisps.
Pork scratchings are also a go to. Try them.
The proper gnarly ones that sometimes have crispy frazzled hairs still on the deep fried pig skin.
Rates were pretty spot on. I was actually eating Thai sweet chicken ones when I clicked on the video. The favourite in our house and I had to grab a second bag 😍😂
Thai Sweet Chicken McCoy’s absolutely rock! If you haven’t already done them, try the 3 flavours of Monster Munch, pickled onion, flamin’ hot & beef! 👍
Just checked out your unboxing video😂 enjoy
Thank you!! 😁😁😁😁
There's a new(ish) British crisp brand called Slabs, they're thickest, chunkiest crisps i've ever had. Highly recommend.
Guy with the hat gets it, flame grilled steak is top tier snackage
Def top tier!! 😁😁😁😁
McCoys flame grilled steak flavour is elite so is the green packet and blue
That was a fun watch.
As a rule of thumb, all UK crisps are vegetarian. Some bagged 'snacks' aren't such as pork scratchings, but beef/chicken/prawn cocktail/etc etc flavour crisps won't contain actual meat.
Thanks for the info! 😁😁😁😁
I actually make these bags of crisps,(chips),and flamed grill steak aremy personal fav
I used to be addicted to McCoys Mexican chilli crisps. Not sure they do them any more. If you like intense flavour I would recommend the brand Real Crisps. Or Pipers
McCoys will always have a place in my heart, every day at school I used to buy 4x multipacks of 12 mccoys packets for £8.00 and sell them in school for 50p per packet, returning £24.00 (If I didnt eat a load lol)
I live in France, my french buddy likes natural or ready salted which are a bit bland. He then gets anchovies and eats them together. I tried it and all I can say is if you like salty chips/crisps this could be your bag.
I tried the epic eats ones recently and you're right, they don't season them evenly so a lot of crisps have next to nothing on them, but after a whole bag of those it was a little spicy.
It was definitely underwhelming 😔😔😔😔
In my day (a long time ago in a country far, far away), from 10 years old to 14, it was "Coke and crisps" (always). From 14 to 16, it was shandy and crisps - ideally, real shandy (half beer and half lemonade) - not the horrifying stuff that was sold in a can back then (Shandy Bass: agh!). And from 16 up, it was always beer and crisps - ever more.
Crisps are a bar snack designed to complement pints. Crisps perform two vital functions: they emulsify the liquid belly slosh, and they keep you thirsty. The perfect symbiotic relationship in other words, that has evolved in the pub petri dish over several centuries.
McCoy's are a sort of high tech innovation from some decades ago (science!) designed to fine tune that vital balance of the slosh, thirst, and hunger intersection.
They still exist because they work.
Before McCoys, there was Scampi Fries - the nuclear option. Once upon a time, when they were full strength, eating one packet of Scampi Fries would trigger at least four more pints of drinking as a kind of antidote. Then, at some point, Scampi Fries were somehow caught up in the small print of some kind of ridiculous international chemical warfare treaty, and they have never been the same since.
I think that's where the McCoys theorists, biding their time, spotted an opportunity, and they took it.
It's a snack-eat-snack world, boys. Never forget that.
I was bought up on McCoy crisps and I've had crisps from all over the world I find they are 2nd the very best is Walker's crisps from here in the UK, my favorite stake is fillet as rare as possible
There is a Chip Shop McCoys version of Salt and Vinegar which is the "Punch me in the mouth with flavour" that some of you were looking for with the Salt and Vinegar.
Another great video guys well done! Flame Grilled Steak has always been my go to but gonna have to try Thai Chicken again!
Ditto to that.👍
It's worth a redo!! 😁😁😁😁
Prawn cocktail or cheese and onion crisp sandwich with some wafer thin ham! 🤤
Yes we do dip chips 👍🏻 and medium for my steak. You could try paprika flavour or Texan BBQ
We only tend to dip Doritos/tortilla chips in the UK, don't know why 🤷♂
Whatever happened to Beef and mustard flavour hula hoops used to get massive bags of them when I was at high school/community college '97-02'
U guys need to try Walkers (its English version of Lays) roast chicken flavour, prawn cocktail, and smoky bacon!! 👌 X
The McCoys Mexican Chilli ones were my all time favourites, but they were discontinued.
Aw yous need to make a cheese and branston pickle sandwich and add cheese and onion crisps its the best sandwich ever in my opinion
You blokes are hilarious, you got a new subscriber. "I was 'bout to smack you across the lip" 😂
Hahahaha just a couple of buddies having a good time!! Thanks for subscribing 😁😁😁😁
mccoys fgs are classic probs what mccoys are known for & their staple , also the thai sweet chicken are awesome too one of my faves
Ribeye steak, Medium rare, Strong English mustard 👌🏻 🔥
You guys tried curry before me lol. Mccoys gotta be one if the best manufacturers. The thickness helps them nit break up on the bag. Had salt n vin yesterday
My wife dips all the time. She partial to sea salt and chardonnay crisps with sour cream dip
In our UK house we tend to dip tortilla chips not crisps but I’m sure others do.
The chip shop curry ones are amazing
OMD LOVELY JUBLEY 😍
McCoys are some of the best crisps we have in the UK
The Steak ones will always be the best
Even before watching the video I knew Thai Sweet Chicken would be your favourite by far.
McCoys Hot Mexican Chilli were their best flavour, but they stopped making them a few years back 😥
Flame Grilled Steak for the win... the MSG in them lifts the flavour 😁
It was def a good crisp 😁😁😁😁
We do dips and chips. Love a walkers sensations caramelised onion and balsamic vinegar dipped in caramelised onion hummus
