  • In Genesis did the patriarch, Isaac, marry his wife Rebekah when she was only 3 years old? Muslims often claim this is true to try and justify Muhammad marrying Aisha when she was 6, but how accurate is this claim?

@@ALC6501 The bible does not say that Rebekah was born then. It says, at some time before Sarah's death, that Abraham was notified that upwards of 13 people had been born, including Rebekah.
      (R. Shmuel Chasid of Spira): She was 14 years old [when she married], since the Sifri brings six pairs who lived to be the same age. One of them is Rivkah and Kehas, and Kehas lived 133 years, like a verse says;
If she was 14 when she married, the calculation is correct. When Yakov was born she was 34, and Yakov was 99 when Rivkah died, so she lived 133 years.
Yakov was 63 when he received the Berachos, for then Yishmael died. Yishmael lived a total of 137 years, like it is written, and Yishmael was 14 years older than Yitzchak, and Yitzchak was 60 years old when [Yakov and Esav] were born. If so, Yishmael was 74 at the time.
      There remain from the birth of Yakov until the end of Yishmael's life 63 years. He (Yakov) hid 14 years in the academy of Ever, like it says in Megilah (17a), and spent 20 years in Lavan's house;
He spent two years on the journey [back to Eretz Yisrael], and then Rivkah died, like we expound "Alon Bachus" - a double crying, over Rivkah and her nursemaid. This is 99 in all.
Conclusion: We must say that the Midrashos argue with each other. (According to the Sifri, we can say that she was truly a Na'arah, i.e. within six months after she brought two hairs.)
can be found on both dafyomi and on alldafi
      confirmation from Jewish Encyclopedia:
"Other rabbis, however, conclude from calculations that she was fourteen years old, and that therefore she was born eleven years before the 'Aḳedah, both numbers being found in different manuscripts of the Seder 'Olam Rabbah (comp. Tos. to Yeb. 61b)."

This is the problem with you new age Christians. You apply a pagan view on the old testament and interpret our text through a modern scope. Logic says that a man can't split the sea. If you want to apply your own logic over the text then apply that principle on all the text, not just the age of Rebekah. I've been to Africa with the Jewish Relief and I've seen 6 year olds carry heavy stuff. You can literally search up "how much can a 3 year old lift" and you'll find all kind of personal stories of people who confirm that a 3 year old can lift weight bars and kettlebells. You have 3 year olds that can explain the periodic table, even explain how bananas help our nose function and how our brain sends info to our muscles but Rebekah's case is too much? They can hold intelligent conversations. The modern scope of maturity that you Christian have used is not applicable to the maturity of thousands of years ago. Why ignore all the work, collected over thousands of years by Rabbis and apply your pagan views on it? Better, why not apply that view on the entire text and see how much of it loses its value.

Now compare her to Rebecca, who at half her age of 3, was having full on conversations with adults as an equal, doing actual labor intensive chores, and was given the choice by her parents to leave with Jacob's servant signifying her ability to consent autonomously.
What's up with Aisha? She sure doesn't seem to be half as mature as Rebecca does when she should be twice as mature being twice as old... maybe Aisha also was influenced by a contemporary Christian understanding of childhood?

Yakov was 63 when he received the Berachos, for then Yishmael died. Yishmael lived a total of 137 years, like it is written, and Yishmael was 14 years older than Yitzchak, and Yitzchak was 60 years old when [Yakov and Esav] were born. If so, Yishmael was 74 at the time.

The definition of child has varied from culture to culture and century to century. Most modern-day countries declare that a child is of legal age to marry between 18 and 21. For some countries, the age may be as low as 15. In ancient Jewish culture, girls were considered marriageable after they had completed puberty, but boys were not considered men in the fullest sense until age 20.
The book of Numbers reinforces the age of 20 for a man’s coming of age. Only the men 20 years old or more were counted as eligible to serve in the army (Numbers 1:18). Among the clans in the tribe of Levi, the Kohathites, Gershonites, and Merarites, men were not considered eligible for temple service until the age of 30 (Numbers 4:3, 23, 30). Levites who served as priests were eligible at the age of 25 (Numbers 8:24-26). Given these age requirements, it seems reasonable to assume that God did not hold those younger than 20 responsible for adult decision-making. Thus, it would follow that 20 was the earliest age at which a man could normally marry.
Ezekiel 16 gives us a hint that a young woman was not considered ready for marriage until she had completed puberty. For some girls, that may have been 13 or 14, but for others puberty may not have been completed until age 16 or older. Ezekiel paints a picture of God’s relationship to His chosen people by comparing Israel with an orphaned girl in various stages of development. The Lord first sees her birth, then watches her grow up: “You grew and developed and entered puberty. Your breasts had formed and your hair had grown. . . . Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you” (Ezekiel 16:7-8). The metaphor hinges on the fact that it is only after a girl arrives at physical maturity, sometime after (not during) puberty, that she is “old enough to love,” i.e., that she is ready for marriage.
However, the Bible does not state a particular marriageable age for either men or women. Much emphasis was given to a woman’s ability to conceive and bear children. Women were most likely younger than the men they married, perhaps even significantly so. A woman remained in her father’s household until marriage, and fathers considered it their responsibility to find suitable husbands for their daughters. Marriage was about more than just the couple getting married; it also had to do with preserving the familial tribes and making provision for future generations. Among royalty in many ancient cultures, including in Israel, marriage also had to do with agreements between countries, with women being given to kings as wives to indicate agreement between nations or rulers.
For the typical family, marriage was about provision and procreation. The father was responsible for a daughter until her husband became the responsible party. Both fathers and suitors took this obligation seriously. The husband-to-be was to give a dowry to his bride’s family to demonstrate his commitment. We see an illustration of these traditions in the story of Jacob, Leah, and Rachel (Genesis 29:16-27). Jacob wanted to marry Rachel, and he worked without wages for her father for seven years as a dowry. But Rachel’s father, Laban, did not want his younger daughter to marry before the older. So he tricked Jacob and, on the wedding night, gave him Leah instead of Rachel. Laban also gave Rachel to Jacob in marriage a week later, for which he required Jacob to work an additional seven years.
We also see in the account of Jairus’s daughter that a girl of 12 was still considered a little girl (Mark 5:21-43). Twice in this passage, the daughter is referred to as a “little girl” (verses 23, 41). So, even though she was most likely entering puberty, the daughter of Jairus was still considered a child and not ready for marriage.
Marriage is a solemn commitment, and when the Bible speaks of it, it is always between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24; Mark 10:7). The Greek and Hebrew words used when discussing marriage imply mature men and women, never child brides. Every culture has its own traditions and age requirements, and young people in ancient times were better prepared for marriage at earlier ages than they are today, when adolescence is often pampered and protracted. Any culture, ancient or modern, that weds little girls to older men is essentially legalizing child abuse, and such practices are not condoned in Scripture.
And once again I also need to add that we are called Christians not Issacians and that alone should prove to you that we never said to be like Daniel or David or Noah or even Moses. We said to follow Jesus Christ way of living because his way was the right way

You don't know history. Look into the history of Saint Augustine in 350 AD he married a 10 year old. King Richard II 1400 AD, married a 7 year old. Henry VIII, in 1500 AD married a 6 year old. Mary the mother of Jesus married Joseph when he was 99 years old and she was 12 (Catholic Encyclopedia).
Prophet Mohammad was a poor guy all of his life and was born in 570 AD. Compare the year he was born and the above years for those other people.
It's a historical fact that girls from 9-14 years old were married off in America, Europe, Africa and Asia. The U.S. President Thomas Jefferson impregnanted his dead wife's aunt. He had sex with her since she was 14 years old. She had 6 of his kids (4 survived). A newspaper exposed the story. Why wasn't he put in jail? Her name was Sally Hemings. This happened in late 17th century.
William Shakepeare created Rameo and Juliet in the 16th century. In the story they were 14 years old and could run away and get married on their own, without parental consent. Can we write a story like that today? Of course not. That was the legal age back then. Also the word pedofile wasn't created until the 18th century. Prophet Mohammad wasn't a pedofile. Here are 2 links of videos for you to watch.

@@twitherspoon8954 That's such an incoherent sentence, I'm sure your brain must have hurt while typing that. With that level of jumbled thinking (and guidance from a Quran that can't get the trinity right) I'm not surprised that you don't understand Christian theology well enough to articulately critique it.
Firstly, Christians don't worship a sacrifice, but God, who is triune. In other words Christians worship Jesus Christ, not His sacrifice.
Secondly, Christ's sacrifice was not ritualistic. While Christ's sacrifice has theological implications, was foretold in Scripture, and was necessary for salvation, it was not itself a ritual or religious act. Rather it was a legal act carried out by a secular court that was being used by the religious opposition to persecute Jesus. Even theologically Christ's death was for legal, not ritualistic, reasons.
Thirdly, the cause for Jesus' death was His decision to save humanity from their sins, therefore he paid the price on our behalf, since a perfectly just God cannot arbitrarily overlook sin (which Islam erroneously teaches). Justice has to be satisfied and no amount of good deeds can undo your bad deeds. Therefore if Christ taking our place in God's judgment and receiving the death penalty is considered ritual human sacrifice, then God's judgment itself is ritual human sacrifice, but Islam teaches God's judgment as well, so according to your logic both Christianity and Islam would be teaching ritual human sacrifice. That is however absurd, therefore neither Christianity nor Islam teaches ritual human sacrifice, but simply teaches a legal judgment by God where sin merits death.
The relevant difference being that Christians actually have a legal basis for and proof of their forgiveness (the debt has been paid, justice has been satisfied through Christ's death on the cross and His resurrection), whereas Muslims have to turn God into an unjust being who simply decides on a whim to not care about your sin if he likes you enough, but won't do so for everyone, and possibly could even change his mind, because after all, if he's not just what's stopping him from throwing you all into hell if he feels like it?

Same reason why Shem is mentioned first as Noah's son. We do the same thing when we say, "The story of Jacob and Esau". 2) Terah was actually 130 when Abram was born (since Terah died at 205 and Abram left at 75) and 3) Abraham laughed not at his age (since men can produce offspring up to the day they die) but because of Sarah's age who was well past the manner of women (Genesis 18:11).

Thanks IP, I think this is a good example of why reading Scripture through Western eyes can be problematic. Even though people might put off such an argument as an attempt to overemphasize local culture in order to justify belief, it is still important to realize that modern Western cultures tend to be lacking social conventions, hierarchies, traditions, gender roles etc due to counterculture movements since the 60's. This often blinds Westerners from the cultural context of the Bible and this is also exemplified by many Westerners who even today would not understand why in Middle Eastern countries even today people would not deny even their worst enemies hospitality by virtue of social conventions.

It doesn't matter whether we would be talking about Middle Eastern culture or Chinese culture, as both of these culture would value social conventions like hospitality, respecting one's elders, taking care of one's parents when they're old etc. In fact, the whole reason why counterculture could exist in the West is because people rely on the government to provide all social services which enables a hyper individualistic society where it is the government that provides for the elderly or children, whereas in the Middle East, India or China, it is society, by virtue of social conventions that provides these services. Any non-Westerner could be culturally shocked by seeing Westerners putting their parents in elderly homes, or seeing children being raised by the state, people being excessively egalitarian to the point of not respecting elders, people not valuing family, people encouraging open homosexuality etc. It is the West that stands out, the West is that 0,000001% of cultures that might be culturally blind to the Gospel.

Great content per usual, but one week argument you made in regards to the ages being symbolic is in Abraham's questioning if a 100 year old man can have a son when his father was 130. Yes, a man can have a son when he is 100 years old (if he's still alive); that's why Sarah wanted Abraham to have a son through Haggai. We also see after Sarah died (127 years old) that Abraham took a new wife, and they had 6 sons (Abraham would have been over 137 at this point). It wasn't Abraham who was too old, but Sarah who was 90. This is expressed in the verse cited, "And will Sarah, who is 90 years old bear a child?" We don't know how old Abraham's mother was when Abraham was born, but the age of his father doesn't affect rather he can reproduce or not.
I'm not saying the symbolic ages theory is wrong, -just that this is a weak argument for that position.

And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor; Gn 22:21 Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram, Gn 22:22 And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel. Gn 22:23 And Bethuel begat Rebekah: THESE EIGHT MILCAH DID BEAR TO NAHOR, ABRAHAM’S BROTHER.
      Then we have
Gn 23:1 . And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: [these were] the years of the life of Sarah.
Gn 23:2 And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same [is] Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her. (This was three years after Abraham got the news and the same year Isaac married Rebecca)
So since the the news about the birth of the names listed reached Abraham and the Muslims and critics tried to deduced false ages from the text, then when the text says THESE EIGHT MILCAH DID BEAR TO NAHOR, ABRAHAM’S BROTHER which include the Rebecca and her father then Rebecca’s father was also 3 years old.
If this is true then Rebecca, her own father and his 7 biological brothers from the same mother and father are all the same age.
Can you see how stupid these Muslims are?

If she was 14 when she married, the calculation is correct. When Yakov was born she was 34, and Yakov was 99 when Rivkah died, so she lived 133 years.
Yakov was 63 when he received the Berachos, for then Yishmael died. Yishmael lived a total of 137 years, like it is written, and Yishmael was 14 years older than Yitzchak, and Yitzchak was 60 years old when [Yakov and Esav] were born. If so, Yishmael was 74 at the time.
      There remain from the birth of Yakov until the end of Yishmael's life 63 years. He (Yakov) hid 14 years in the academy of Ever, like it says in Megilah (17a), and spent 20 years in Lavan's house;
He spent two years on the journey [back to Eretz Yisrael], and then Rivkah died, like we expound "Alon Bachus" - a double crying, over Rivkah and her nursemaid. This is 99 in all.

I've never heard this claim from Muslims but it is established by the Bible and Christian theologians that adulthood and marriage was at 12 which is considered paedophilia today. So dk why they'd need Rebecca when Jesus himself came under the yoke of the law at that age, scholars already said Mary was that age when she conceived Jesus; no need really for any proof after that.

@@misterauctor7353 16 would have been considered late during her time and Mary and Jesus were devout Jews and remember, Jesus said he came to fulfil and uphold the law (it was later Paul who changed this). In Judaism, the age of 13 signifies adulthood. The minimum age for marriage was 12/13 but formal betrothal often took place before that. They also instituted capital punishment by stoning or hanging at this age (Torah's Law of the Rebellious Son Ben Sorer uMoreh). The Mishnah, which was completed around the beginning of the third century, notes this average age as well.
Despite the protests of some Christians, it is almost certain that, given the marriage practices of her time, Mary would have been married by age 12 and conceived Jesus no later than age 13; “[h]istorians are pretty sure that Mary had just entered puberty when Jesus was conceived. As a peasant in Nazareth she almost certainly would have been married off around the time [of] puberty. [...] In short, there is every reason to believe that the Virgin Mary-the mother of one of the world’s major religions-was a young mother indeed.” Dr. Robert Epstein
Evidence in the New Testament is found when Jesus revives a 12-year old girl (Mark 5:42), “about twelve” in Luke's version (8:42). Matthew 9:18, no age is given; Gill’s Exposition of the Entire Bible explains “Mark calls her his ‘little daughter’: though both he and Luke say, she was about ‘twelve’ years of age, and that with strict propriety, according to the Jewish canons, which say; that ‘a daughter, from the day of her birth until she is twelve years
complete, is called ‘a little one’ and when she is twelve years of age, and one day and upwards, she is called ‘a young woman’.’’ This is the age Jesus came under the Law of the Lord, became a Son of the Loaw, or "Son of Precepts" and was presented at the "Sabbath of Phylacteries" in synagogue and began to wear phylacteries with which his father presented him. The Talmudic adage: “Let a man deal gently with his son till he come to be twelve years old: but from that time, let him descend with him into his way of living...”

Compare this to the clear-cut description of Aisha by the sahih hadiths e.g. Bukhari, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Muslim, who plainly stated that Aisha was 9 and was still playing with dolls when Momo the Pedo consummated their marriage.

@@alonzoharris9049 In the Old Testament (OT), women primarily belonged to their families and would move to different family units. The father had the main responsibility for female family members until it transferred to the husband or new master. The concept of the kinsman and its connection to widows is important to note, as seen in the stories of Judah and Tamar, and in the Book of Ruth. Childbearing was crucial for a woman's status in OT society, and barrenness was considered a curse. The wife's domestic duties were highlighted, such as making bread, sewing, and caring for the family. The tenth commandment specifically mentioned the woman's unique status in the home. Inheritance could pass to a daughter if there were no sons, but it could not be transferred through marriage. Divorces were allowed but discouraged, and the husband had a favored position in divorce arrangements. The woman's primary role within marriage was sexual fulfillment, emphasized in Genesis and the Book of Deuteronomy. Even a captive woman could marry an Israelite and assume a new social status. The Song of Solomon emphasized the physical pleasures of love without shame. Respecting the mother within the home was a legal requirement in OT morality, supported by the Mosaic Code and mentioned in the Book of Proverbs.

“He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.”

Read (Genesis 22:22-23): Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph and Bethuel.” Bethuel became the father of Rebekah.
Notice Bethuel's birth was mentioned and then he became the father of Rebekah, but NOT THE SAME YEAR is a description of a PAST EVENT, not a present one by the fact that Bethuel didn't bear and became the father right away. Therefore, IS NOT in the present tense, is a pass one, THEREFORE this passage IS NOT IMPLYING the birth of Rebekkah and the death of Sara happened simultaneously.
2.- This is PROVE that Rebekah was old enough before knowing Isaac. Read (Genesis 24:64-65): Rebekah also looked up and saw Isaac. She got down FROM HER CAMEL and asked the servant, "Who is that man in the field coming to meet us?" "He is my master," the servant answered. So she took her veil and covered herself.

2.- Science demonstrates that life begets life and intelligence comes from intelligence behind, there are no scientific reasons to assume otherwise (at least a superior intelligence source creates it).
3.- Nothingness can't exist before someone does, therefore it must be someone eternally always existing (outside of this universe as point #1 explain). You can't reach an infinite regression in which it was nothing and then something.
-Why someone and not something? Because of #2
      -Why eternal? Because of #3
-Why this universe can't be eternal instead? Because of #1
Whoever believes otherwise, then they have more faith than I do.

@The Skeptic -None of those theories debunk the existence of God because the fact that information exists, indicates a mind did it, and we know little particles of matter don't have a mind. Anyway, why the God of the Bible? For 2 reasons:
      1. Is the ONLY religion in the world that came from eyewitneses accounts, all other religions came from a single Man's perception.
      2. Original sin is the only logical way to explain death if God is a living God, and only Chrsitanity believes in it.
GOd can't have a beguinning, He must be eternal as point 3 above explains.

The claim that Rebekah was 3 when she and Isaac married hinges on Genesis 22:23 being the time she was born and her birth occurring around the time of Sarah's death a couple of verses later in 23:1. Let's see if that holds water.
Genesis 22:1-19 relates Isaac being bound to the altar. Here is Genesis 22:20 through 23:1 in full.
      ‐----------------------------------
      20 And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;
21 Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,
22 And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.
23 And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
24 And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.
1 And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah.
      ‐----------------------------------
As verse 20 states, this is recording that Abraham received news of Nahor's family some time after the events on the mountain. It's not anyone's time of birth. There is nothing that places Rebekah's birth around the time of Sarah's death in 23:1.
The claim that Rebekah was 3 has no basis in the text. We dont know her age. What we know from Genesis 24 doesn't support her being a toddler.

@@ok93748 History. Modern Christianity is based upon the ideas and teachings of Paul, and not Christ. The original teachings of Christ remined relatively correct for around three centuries. Some different schools of thought about who Jesus was and some of the ideas of Christianity, like Jesus being God or the son of God developed, as Paul introduced them copying from the Greek mystery religions of the time. Triads, trinities, incarnation, begotten sons, redeemer, savior figures were all ideas that existed in the pagan faiths of the time and since antiquity. They were only a new introduction into the Israelite teachings. Paul, independent of the disciples and the original Israelite community, nominated himself to universalize his peculiar version of Christianity to all peoples and made a new religion for mass appeal which is why he abolished the law (that Jesus said he came to uphold and fulfill) and taught a new, different form of salvation than Jesus taught, making it easy by just accepting Jesus died for your sins. This would easily attract the pagans to this new religion which historians say was just paganism repackaged.
These ideas were not taught by Jesus or known by anyone who knew Jesus and followed him in his lifetime on earth. The Ebionites, Nazarenes who believed in Jesus as a prophet which they took from his early teachings is who they later called heretics. They were the the Jews who believed in him, from amongst his own people, who lived and died and witnessed his actions. That is why Christian scholars like John Toland asked, how is it possible to be the first of all others, who should form wrong conceptions of the doctrines and designs of Jesus? And how did the Gentiles who only believed in Jesus after his death from the preaching and information of people that never knew Jesus, have truer notions of doctrine and Jesus or when could they have their information from the believing Jews.
As Paul famously stated: “I am made all things to all men, that I might, by all means, save some.” He thought the ends justified the means but calling them to what? In his epistles he said “The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached"; “If my falsehood enhances God's truthfulness, and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?" As the Christian proverb goes, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do” and that is exactly what he did in Rome where he chose to make his religious base. Paul styled himself an apostle among the Gentiles, preached a Jesus doctrine that Greek Gentiles could believe in; a deified savior, a redeemer of sins, in whom a personalized faith could be held without observance of the law. A bodily resurrection that resembles the deities of the mystery cults such as Isis, Attis, Mithra.
If we look at his letters and writings, like his teaching of salvation and compare that to what the gospels record in Jesus' parables of salvation, we find a different teaching and he does not quote Jesus in teachings while the gospel writers do. James and Jude refuted his teachings in their epistles and considered him a heretic and apostate of the law; he spoke animus against the law being critical of it calling it "a ministry of death." Paul is the real founder of Christianity taking it away from what Jesus taught, to worship God alone, to what he taught, worshipping Jesus instead of God; going against the first commandment.
Once the Jewish wing of "Christianity" ended, Pauline Christianity came to the forefront as Constantine adopted his ideas and the Church decided, against evidence, and against opposition, that Jesus was God. Then Jesus' true teachings pretty much became lost and only Paul's teachings were known (as they were imposed upon the subjects of the land by Constantine). There's a lot that get into about Paul and once you do, the inconsistencies in Christianity start to become clear.

I said that Isaac is referred to as a boy on the mountain. And that just because Abraham was informed of Rebekah’s existence, it doesn’t mean she was born then. And just because Sarah’s death is recorded directly after the Mount Moriah incident, it doesn’t mean that it happened directly after the incident. And last I mentioned that Rebekah is referred to as a WOMAN at the well. A woman is not a 3 year old girl. I just now saw this video and felt very happy that there are Christians who ARE true believers and that it is possible to defend the Bible fully. Thank you for this video 😊. In the old times, there are only few people and they were to populate the world since man is still clean at that time but as people grew, they started being cruel and abusing having sex to all people without marriage that is why, God had restricted marriage to only 1 and their abuse to sex, alcohol and etc made their genes decline.

I've heard this about the age of Abraham's father before as being against the ages being literal. The argument goes like this. Abraham's father would have been 130. Therefore, Abraham would not have reacted like a man his supposed age of 100 (relatively young) would have difficulty fathering a child. But if we take the ages literally, we would also see a progressive reduction (by a significant number) in their lifespans and, presumably with it, their virile years. Abraham as well as his father before him would see that they were not living as long nor able to bear children as old as their ancestors used to. By the time he reached a hundred, it could have been the common experience that no one was able to father a child at that age for some time already. THoughts?

Hey @InspiringPhilosophy, I once saw a mesege from you reguarding christians and cursing. I would like to disagree with your position, There is a great amount of context in the bible about not using foul language and avoiding a bad mouth. I also think that there is a basis to believe that certain words are designed to invite evil into a persons life (somthing you out right dismissed) obvouisly words differ in culture and words evolve, there is still a precedent that certain words are meant to be evil.
Anywho, I like a lot of your work and you've helped me to see that some of my doctrine is not a cut and dry truth as I thought and that good cases exist on other sides (Ex: young earth)
That said I would like it if you would look into the issue of christians cursing in depth, keeping in mind the greater biblical context of avoiding a vulgar tongue.
    Much love in Christ!
